Funeral services for Christine Ziebarth, 30, Coon Rapids, took place May 19 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Mark Johnson officiated.
Ziebarth died May 17, 2003 in Coon Rapids. She was born Sept. 7, 1972 in Fridley and was a make-up artist.
She is survived by her mother, Valerie; father, Jerry; brother, Andrew (Jill); Jonathan (Katherine), Susan (Scott); and nieces, Kathyrn and Kayla.
Interment was at Crystal Lake cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
James Baker
Funeral services for James Arthur Baker, 93, Apple Valley, took place May 22 at Sunnyside Free Church, Linwood Township. Revs. Kent Boyum and Dave Keippela officiated.
Baker died May 18, 2003 at Fairview Ridges Hospital, Burnsville. He was born Oct. 30, 1909 in Bethel to Hiram and Florence (Lyons) Baker.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie; children, Sharon Baker of Seattle, Wash., Anita Nikolai (Loren) of Columbia, Mo., Jean Sigford (Steve) of Minneapolis, Lisa Swelland (Mark) of New Prague and Brian Baker (Lori) of Plymouth; grandchildren, Ollie, Trisha, Jay, Chad, Scott, Samantha, Katie, Rainey and Aaron; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Conner and Cameron; and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Ollie Bauer, Jay Nikolai, Chad and Scott Swelland and Gary Baker.
Interment was at Oak Leaf cemetery. Arrangements were by Strike Funeral Home, Isanti Chapel.
William Danens Sr.
Private family services took place for William J. Danens Sr., 79. Anoka.
Danens died May 24, 2003 at Twin Rivers Care Center. He was born April 6, 1924 in Appleton to William S. and Nina Spalding Danens, and was a retired grocery warehouse worker.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; son, William (Marcia) Danens; daughters Jerilanne (Daniel) Martin, Robianne (David F.) Walerius; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and sisters Dorothy Torneby and Gladys Harmon.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by Gearhart Anoka Chapel.
Helen Heidebrink
Helen I. Heidebrink, 85, Coon Rapids, formerly of Rushmore, died May 21, 2003. She was born Dec. 7, 1917 in Rushmore.
She is survived by her children, Lonni (David) McCauley, Gary (Diana), Harlan (Eunice), and Adelle (Ronald) Widmer; grandchildren, Kerry (Cathy) McCauley, Patrick McCauley, Sue (Brian) Schirmers, Gregg (Judy) Heidebrink, Scott (Cindy) Widmer, and Julie Widmer; great-grandchildren, Bridget and Megan Schirmers, Claire and Connor McCauley, Gretchen Heidebrink, Mitchell and Kathy Jans, and Abbey Houchin; sisters, Doris Scherff; and many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harm; son, Randy; father, Charles Lutner and mother Bessie; sisters, Ruby and Jean; and brothers, Chester, Donald, Dale and Kenneth.
Homer Knoss
Funeral services for Homer Knoss, 87, Oak Grove, took place May 22 at Anoka United Methodist Church. Rev. Kenneth Rice officiated.
Knoss died May 19, 2003 in Oak Grove. He was born Nov. 25, 1915 in Mankato to Frederick W. and Gladys (Pearson) Knoss and was a retired teacher and principal, World Ward U.S. Navy veteran, and Masonic Lodge member.
He is survived by his sons, Robert (Charis) and Gary (JoAnn); four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Forrest (Dottie), Wayne; and sisters, Joyce Edwards, Norma Footh, and Joanne (Frank) Prosser.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; and parents, Fred and Gladys.
Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Shirley Petroff
Funeral services for Shirley A. Petroff, 70, Coon Rapids, took place May 21 at Church of St. Stephen, Anoka. Rev. Adrian Piotrowski officiated.
Petroff died May 19, 2003. She was born Oct. 6, 1932 in Little Falls to Eugene and Laura Paquin.
She is survived by her husband, Vince; sons, Jim (Cindy), Richard (Doreen); grandchildren, Nicole, Michelle, Andrew Michael and Ricky Jr.; and other relatives and friends.
Interment was at Calvary cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Matthew Reynolds
Funeral services for Matthew Nels Reynolds, 17, Isanti, took place May 23 at St. Francis High School Performing Arts Center. Rev. Steve Melander officiated.
Reynolds died May 20, 2003 in an automobile accident in St. Francis. He was born Dec. 25, 1985 in Coon Rapids to Lyle and Cindy Reynolds. He was a junior at St. Francis High School and a member of the school's concert choir.
He is survived by his parents, Lyle and Cindy Reynolds of Isanti; brother, Charliey of Isanti; grandmother, Iris Reynolds of Hillman; godparents, Barb Peterson and Jim Schafer of Blaine; special friend, Miranda Jones of Hartwick, Iowa; best friend, Dan Curtis; 11 aunts and uncles; several cousins; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nels Reynolds and Ed and Myrt Neuman.
Pallbearers were Charliey Reynolds, Chris Vrchota, Jason Wright, Jake Vicroy, Ty Jeffrey Mattson and Steve Sunsdahl.

Violet Erickson
Funeral services for Violet M. Erickson, 64, Andover, took place June 3 at Constance Free Church, Andover. Rev. Randy Discher officiated,
Erickson died May 30, 2003 at Mercy Hospital. She was born Aug. 6, 1938 in Anoka to Elmer D. Erickson and Viola M. Carlson. She was self-employed in child care.
She is survived by her brothers, Marvin, Rodney (Karen), Stanley (Mariesther), and Larry (Karen) Erickson; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Viola Erickson.
Pallbearers were Jim, Brian and Brad Erickson.
Interment was at Constance cemetery, Andover. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
David Janssen
Funeral services for David H. Janssen, 64, Hibbing, formerly of Anoka and Champlin, took place May 27 at Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing. Rev. Mark Palmer officiated.
Janssen died May 22, 2003 at his home. He was born Sept. 25, 1928 in Parkersburg, Iowa, to Herman and Frances Janssen, and grew up in Champlin. He owned and operated Janssen Roofing.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne; daughters, Mary (Scott) Schirmers of Big Lake, Margaret (Keith) Hout of Spring Lake Park; son, Paul (Kim) Janssen of Brooklyn Park; stepchildren, Sand (Bill) Sevilla of Hastings, Karen Hofmeister of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Robert (Dana) Hofmeister of Peoria, Ill.; grandchildren, Ryan Janssen, Kenneth S. Schirmers, Nick Schirmers, Travis Schirmers, Whitney Hout and Taylor Janssen; and great-grandchildren, Zach and Mia Janssen.
Pallbearers were Scott and Kenneth Schirmers, Ryan Janssen and Keith Hout.
Interment was at Maplehill cemetery, Hibbing.
Everette Leaf
Funeral services for Everette Leaf, 94, Andover, took place June 2 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Gregory S. Coop officiated.
Leaf died May 30, 2003. He was born Sept. 9, 1908 in St. James and was retired from sales.
He is survived by his daughters, Valery Weavery and Kitty Leaf; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen 'Tootsie;' daughter, Kath Sonnesyn; and sisters, Stella Woodward, Fern Lest and Zibyl Anderson.
Interment was at Lakewood cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
