Dean Chamberlain
A celebration of the life of Dean A. Chamberlain, 55, Anoka, took place Aug. 10 at Anoka American Legion.
Chamberlain died Aug. 2, 2003.
He is survived by his daughters, Kema, Melissa; son, Dagan; mother, Alice; sisters, Sheila (Ken), Karen (Steve); brothers, Phillip (Sheryl), Terry (Carol), Randy (Julie); nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins; and best friends, Tom and Rose.
He was preceded in death by his father, Larry.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by the Cremation Society of Minnesota.
Leonard Cichy
Funeral services for Leonard M. Cichy, 64, Morris, took place Aug. 27 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Adrian Piotrowski officiated.
Cichy died Aug. 21, 2003 in Brandon. He was born July 22, 1939 in Leaf Mountain to Peter Cichy and Rose Turchin and was an assembler for Ford Motor Co.
He is survived by his wife, Muriel; sons and daughters-in-law, David (Donna), Dennis (Vicky), Douglas (Karen); grandchildren, JoBeth, Angela, Tyler, Justena; brothers, Kenneth, Walter; sister-in-law, Shirley; brother-in-law, Marvin; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Rose; brothers, Ervin and Marvin; and sister, Irene.
Pallbearers were Richard, Roger, LeRoy and Rodney LeBlanc, Gerry Jeska and Dale Hove. Honorary pallbearers were Richard Atkins and grandchildren JoBeth, Angela, Tyler and Justena.
Interment was at Calvary cemetery, Anoka., Arrangements were by Gearhart.
Russell Cook
Russell 'Bud' A. Cook, Jr., 80, died Aug. 11, 2003 at Mercy Hospital. He was born March 29, 1923 in Cheyenne, Wyo., and was a retired electronics technician.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene; daughter, Janelle and Jean; grandson, Dan; sisters, Arlene and Ruth; brother, Stan; and family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Sr. and Esther Cook.
Doris Frantz
Funeral services for Doris Frantz, 82, Coon Rapids, took place Aug. 25 at Nativity Lutheran Church, St. Anthony. Rev. Glenn Seefeldt officiated.
Frantz died Aug. 21, 2003 in Edina. She was born Nov. 5, 1920 in Lindstrom, and was retired from Anoka Technical College.
She is survived by her son, Steven (Darla); granddaughters, Rachel and Kate; brothers, Glenn (Elsie) Reed, Vincent (Janet) Reed; sisters-in-law, Darlene Reed and Dorothy Herzog; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; and brother, Robert Reed.
Pallbearers were Dave, Jeff, Kent and Rick Reed, Cheryl Glanz and Debra Thilgen.
Interment was at Chisago Lakes Lutheran cemetery, Center City. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Anne Hosford
Funeral services for Anne Hosford, 99, Billings, Mont., formerly of Coon Rapids, will take place Saturday, Sept. 6, 11:30 a.m., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Menomonie, Wis.
Hosford died Aug. 20, 2003. She was born Sept. 10, 1903.
She is survived by her sons, Lloyd, Robert (Mary), Victor (Marian); daughters, Mary and Judy; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters; one sister-in-law; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor; and daughter, Patty.
Leah Koss
Funeral services for Leah Vivian Koss, 10 1/2 hours, Anoka, took place Aug. 23 at Prairie Oak Community Church, Andover. Rev. Steve Gahagen officiated.
She died Aug. 19, 2003 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital. She was born Aug. 18 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital to Derek L. and Valerie J. (Neal) Koss.
She is survived by her parents, Derek and Valerie; siblings, Rachel, Nicholas and Riley; grandparents, Michael and Sharon Koss, Ken and Ruth Neal; aunts, uncles and cousins; and many other family.
Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Marie Kujawa
Funeral services for Marie F. Kujawa, 86, Coon Rapids, took place Aug. 21 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Joel Cycenas officiated.
Kujawa died Aug. 17, 2003 in Coon Rapids. She was born March 20, 1917 in Minneapolis to Joseph Lewandowski and Julia Biniek.
She is survived by her children, Ronald (Cindy), Richard, Robert, Bernadine Womack, Joanne (John) George, Julianne (George) Daleiden, Darlend (Dean) Johnson; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; brothers, Alphonsus and Claude; sisters, Pauline Reichert and Augusta Lewandowski; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; and son, Edward Jr. 'Butch.'
Interment was at Calvary cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Gearhart.
Virginia Mevissen
Funeral services for Virginia C. Mevissen, 84, Anoka, will take place today (Friday, Aug. 29, 2 p.m., at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Liane S. Rock will officiate.
Mevissen died Aug. 25, 2003 at Mercy Hospital. She was born June 28, 1919 in Minneapolis to Lucille Mevissen. She was a retired maintenance worker at Anoka Electric Cooperative.
She is survived by many cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her friend, Helen Howell.
Interment will be at Forest Hill cemetery. Arrangements are by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Shawn Nelson
Funeral services for Shawn B. Nelson, 44, Andover, will take place today (Friday, Aug. 29), 11 a.m., at Family of Christ Lutheran Church, Andover. Rev. Dennis Perryman will officiate.
Nelson died Aug. 24, 2003 at Mercy Hospital. He was born Aug. 3, 1959 in Minneapolis to Bernard F., Nelson and Virgin ia K. (Wahlstrom) Nelson. He was a post office truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Janelle; daughters, Savannah and Erin; mother, Virginia Nelson; brothers, Victor (Pat), Vincent (Kathy), Kylund (Brenda), Brydon (Kita) Nelson; sisters, Kayla (Richard) Harris, Teaira (Eric) Mortenson, Yael (Jason) Smith; mother- and father-in-law, Sally and Ralph French; sister-in-law, Jodi (Bob) French; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bernie Nelson.
Pallbearers will be Victor, Vincent, Kylund and Brydon Nelson, Troy Stuhr and Jerome Winterfeldt.

Shari Peterson
Funeral services for Shari Ann Peterson, 49, Isanti, took place Aug. 21 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Jimmy Jones officiated.
Peterson died Aug. 17, 2003 at Presbyterian Home of Roseville. She was born June 22, 1954 in Minneapolis to Merton and Virginia Welch. She was a bank teller.
She is survived by her husband, Gregory; children, Lisa Burchill (Terry), Cory, Kristie Kaiser (Scott), Amber; grandchildren, Isaac and Seth Burchill; father, Merton Welch; brothers, Bob and Dan Welch; great-grandfather, Orrin Christopherson; and other family members and friends.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Robert Resinger
Funeral services for Robert E. Resinger, 59, Blaine, took place Aug. 21 at Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Bernard Reiser officiated.
Resinger died Aug. 15, 2003 in St. Paul, . He was born July 7, 1944 in Bonne Terre, Mo., to Everett and Mildred Resinger, and was the owner of a trucking company.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; daughters, Amy (Chuck), Bobbie (Steve), Robin (John); sons, Brian (Sarea), Chad (Melanie); grandchildren, Amber, Brandon, Alyesa, Cody, Ashley, TJ, Tannah, Tucker, Madison; sister and brother-in-law, Pat (Ernie) Weiler; niece, Dinah and family; and brothers-in-law, Greg (Dana) Rygg, Mike (Sharon) Rygg and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Mildred Resinger.
Pallbearers were Chad and Brian Lea, Greg Rygg, Tom Medved, Tom Hipp and Tom Buchholz.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel.
