Arthur Sahr

Funeral services for Arthur M. Sahr, 81, Blaine, took place Aug. 25 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Tom Kunnel officiated.

Sahr died Aug. 20, 2003 in Blaine. He was born Sept. 20, 1921 in Platt Township to Nicholas and Elizabeth Sahr. He was a retired alloy technician.

He is survived by his children, Debby (Gary) Dahlberg, Carol (Pat) Stafford, Lorie (Rick) Ashton, Arthur J. 'Butch, ' Virginia (Dave) Walsh, Leo, Dan (Sarah); grandchildren, J.J., Darin, Tracy, Jami, Jason, Jackie, Marie, Will, Joshua, Alicia, Amanda, Matt, Amber, D.J., and Hannah; and sister, Clara Hoheisel.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Aletha; and son, Matt.

Pallbearers were Pat and Jason Stafford, Gary Dahlberg, Dave Walsh and John Miller Jr.

Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Michael Sisson

Memorial services for Michael M. Sisson, 64, Oak Grove, took place Aug. 22 at New Life Lutheran Church, Oak Grove. Rev. Ed Treat officiated.

Sisson died Aug. 18, 2003 at the Anoka Care Center. He was born Aug. 28, 1938 in Minneapolis to Miles and Margaret Sisson and was a UPS semi driver.

He is survived by his wife, Judie; children, Amy, Debbie, Mark (Lisa), Renee (Scott) Zinken, Amber (Sean) Sax; three grandchildren; two stepchildren; and brothers, George (Carol) and Tom (Barbara).

Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Scott Swan

Funeral services for Scott P. Swan Jr., 13, Dayton, took place Aug. 21 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Paul Burow officiated.

He died Aug. 16, 2003 in Dayton after being struck by an automobile while riding his mini-bike. He was born July 9, 1990 in Robbinsdale to Scott R. Swan Sr. and Erica R. Johnson and had completed seventh-grade at the Bell Center, Coon Rapids.

He is survived by his mother, Erica Johnson (Jeremy Southerling); father, Scott Sr.; brothers, Donovan Swan and Paxton Goodsky; sister, Megan Werner; grandmothers, Char Beyel and Gloria Howard; grandfather, Harry Johnson; aunts, Jessica, Margaret, Theresa and Jenny Johnson, Kathy 'Bug' Beyel, Kerry Swanson and Melissa Sanken; uncle, Andy Beyel; best friend, Trent Barlow; special friends, Brandon Sanken and 'Old Man Rivers;' the Goodsky family; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Howie; great-grandfathers, Harry and Julian; great-grandmother, Betty; and uncle, Michael.

Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.

Alice Bowers

Funeral services for Alice M. Bowers, 82, Anoka, took place Aug. 29 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Liane Rock officiated.

Bowers died Aug. 26, 2003 in Anoka. She was born June 10, 1921 in Redfield, S.D., to John Erickson and Ida Lunstrum and was a retired ward secretary at the former Anoka State Hospital.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Gangl, Carol Jones, Pat (Robert) Barthel, Sheila (Kerry) Jeska; grandchildren, Matthew, Courtney, Adams, Christopher and Isaac; and great-grandchild, Michael.

She was preceded in death by two husbands; two grandchildren; three brothers; and one sister.

Pallbearers were Matthew Jones, Courtney Wilkinson, Christopher, Adam and Isaac Jeska and Michael Kraatz.

Interment was at Forest Hill cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Anoka Chapel.

Robert Edwards

Memorial services for Robert J. Edwards, 84, Minneapolis, took place Aug. 28 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Bill Stenke officiated.

Edwards died Aug. 18, 2003 at Westwood Health Care Center. He was born June 2, 1919 in Minneapolis and was a retired manufacturing maintenance worker.

He is survived by his son, Robert E.; and grandchildren, Rochelle, Jennifer and Sean.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.

Louis LeDuc

Funeral services for Louis P. 'Papa' LeDuc, 68, Spring Lake Park, took place Aug. 26 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Carol Kniskern officiated.

LeDux died Aug. 24, 2003. He was born April 20, 1935 in Minneapolis and was a Sunshine Band member and foster parent for 32 years.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann; daughters, Michelle (Chuck), and Denise; son, James (Dee); chosen children, Rishelle (Greg), Holly (Matt), Amy (Matt), Stacy and Maya; grandchildren; and other family members.

Interment was private. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.

Bernice Lindwall

Funeral services for Bernice Mamie Schultz Lindwall, 90, Spring Lake Park, took place July 16 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Spring Lake Park.

Lindwall died at her home July 13, 2003.

She is survived by her son, Gregory of Minneapolis; daughter, Crysone of Spring Lake Park; sister, Eileen of Elk River; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Interment was at Sunset Memorial Park.

William Kennedy

Funeral services for William Roy Kennedy, 69, Brooklyn Park, took place Sept. 2 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Oak Grove. Rev. Michael Kennedy officiated.

Kennedy died Aug. 25, 2003 in Brooklyn Center. He was born Aug. 17, 1934 in Corcoran and was an attorney.

He is survived by his former wife, Marilyn; son, Kevin John; daughter and son-in-law, Kari Lee Kennedy and Chip Anderson; grandchildren, Kristoffer and Meaghan Anderson; brothers, Rev. Michael Kennedy; sisters, Mary Marple and Eileen Kennedy; and nephew, Matthew Marple.

Interment was at Old St. Thomas cemetery, Corcoran. Arrangements were by Gearhart.

Marguerite Melberg

Funeral services for Marguerite O. Melberg, 86, Champlin, took place Aug. 30 at Champlin United Methodist Church. Rev. Judy Myers officiated.

Melberg died Aug. 26, 2003. She was born May 21, 1917 in Oakes, N.D., to Paul and L. Belle (Swartout) Mindrum, and was retired from Federal-Hoffman. She was a member of the Champlin American Legion Auxiliary, Champlin Senior Citizens Club, member and director of Anoka Choraliers, Federal-Hoffman Women's Golf League, and Women's 20-Year Club.

She is survived by her son, John (Sue) Melberg of Faribault; daughters, Roberta (Loren) Swanson, Judith (Donald) McVeigh, all of Big Lake, Terri (Dan) Vevea of Nowthen; stepdaughters, June Schumann and Betty Reinhart, both of Anoka; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lloyd R., Bowers and Jason M. Melberg.

Pallbearers were Jim McVeigh, Lyall Stearns, Dale and Rob Swanson, Jason Vevea and Dale Weidner.

Interment was at Champlin cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Marian Soman

Funeral services for Marian T. Soman, 73, Coon Rapids, took place Aug. 29 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Tom Wilson officiated.

Soman died Aug. 26, 2003 in Coon Rapids. She was born April 9, 1930 in Crookston to Anthony and Amelia Amon, and was a retired food service worker.

She is survived by her daughters, Antoinette Grosslein, Jessica Voss and Sally E. Bruvold; son, Walter Soman Jr.; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Millie Nelson; and brother, Gabriel Amon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Soman Sr.

Interment was at Calvary cemetery, Crookston. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel.

Ralph Howe

Funeral services for Ralph H. Howe, 80, Coon Rapids, took place Sept. 5 at Faith Lutheran Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. John Kerr officiated.

Howe died Sept. 2, 2003 in Coon Rapids. He was born Aug. 6, 1923 in Crosby to Eugene and Adeline Howe and was a retired sheet metal worker.

He is survived by his children, David, Deborah Molin (Bill), Julie Ecklund (Steven), Jeffrey (Laurie); nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; three sisters; and two brothers.

Pallbearers were Michael, Gordon, Erick, and Brian Howe, Walter Cox, and Donald, Richard and James Bergsrud.

Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids.
