Rudolph Jacobsen

Funeral services for Rudolph T. Jacobsen, 91, Anoka, took place Sept. 5 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Dennis Heiden officiated.

Jacobsen died Sept. 2, 2003 at LakeRidge Care Center, Roseville. He was born April 23, 1912 in Bancroft, Iowa, to Matthew and Martha (Potthoff) Jacobsen. He was a retired pipefitter and longtime member of the Minnesota State Fiddlers Association.

He is survived by his son, Dr. Dennis Jacobsen; daughters, Beverly (Harold) Hall and Barbara Olson; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and brother, Marvin Jacobsen.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Luverne; sisters, Elsie West, Erna Matz; and brothers, Harry, Bernard and Ernest Jacobsen.

Pallbearers were Brad and Steve Olson, David Jacobsen, Brad Ruud, Ray Nash and Greg Daniels.

Interment was at Forest Hill cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Byrnell Johnson

Funeral services for Byrnell J. Johnson, 71, Anoka, took place Sept. 6 at Elim Baptist Church. Revs. Robert E. Brunko and Gary Mueller officiated.

Johnson died Sept. 3, 2003 at her home. She was born June 9, 1932 in Milwaukee, Wis., to Philip D. and Lynn L. (Dellert) Schmitt and was a retired counselor for Anoka County Corrections.

She is survived by her children, Lynda Benage, Laurie Ray, LaVonne Oxyer, Daniel (Gwen) Johnson; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Craig Lindberg, Orrin McGill, Wally Medin, Stan Data, Ernie Schlaman, and David Griffiths.

Interment was at Sunset Memorial Park, Minneapolis. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Joanne Larson

Funeral services for Joanne C. Larson, 62, St. Francis, took place Sept. 10 at Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Francis. Rev. J.R. Baumgarn officiated.

Larson died Sept. 7, 2003 at her home. She was born March 27, 1941 in Crown to Raymond H. and Olga M. (Amschler) Stoeckel, and was a school bus driver.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin 'Benny;' son, Jeffrey (Shelley); grandchildren, Chelsey and Devin Larson; sister, Jeanette LaVerne; brothers, Sheldon Stoeckel, Dale (Nita) Stoeckel, Neil (Marcy) Stoeckel; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Bradley; and parents, Raymond and Olga Stoeckel.

Pallbearers were Tom, Dennis, Scott and Steve Stoeckel, Jeff Wagner, Greg Bye and Ken Springer.

Interment was at West Oak Grove cemetery, Oak Grove. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Raymond Levine

Funeral services for Raymond Anton Levine, 84, Anoka, formerly of Superior, Wis., took place Sept. 6 at Bethel Lutheran Church, Superior. Rev. Gary Garnatz officiated.

Levine died Aug. 30, 2003 at North Memorial Medical Center, Robbinsdale. He was a World War II veteran and was with the IBEF for more than 60 years.

He is survived by his wife, Veronica; sons, Raymond (Edda) Levine Jr. and Gregory (Lillian) Levine; grandchildren, Christopher, Renae, Michael, Sandy, Cordell, Mark, Matthew, Joy, Nathan, Rebecca and Scott; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Sophia; and brother, Russell.

Interment was at Parkview cemetery, Hawthorne. Arrangements were by Downs Funeral Home.

Laurel Mero

Funeral services for Laurel Jeannine Mero 'Toni, ' 74, Anoka, took place Sept. 4 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Liane S. Rock officiated.

Mero died Sept. 1, 2003 at her home. She was born Feb. 26, 1929 in Minneapolis to Clayton P. Woods and Olga M. Swan, and was retired from Honeywell.

She is survived by her children, Anna (Gene) Fournier, Randy (Char) Johnson, Rhonda Johnson, Danny (Janice) Johnson, Debbie (Ardie) Anderson, Tammy (Dave Hatch) Mero; 21 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Linda Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Randy Johnson II; daughter, Kathy Mero; and special friend, James Olson.

Pallbearers were Jeno, Paul, Chad and Jeff Fournier, Steve Stringfellow, Gordon Johnson, and Shawn McClellan.

Interment was at Epiphany cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.

Harry Miller

Funeral services for Harry L. Miller, 66, Blaine, took place Sept. 3 at Peace Lutheran Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Jay Carlson officiated.

Miller died Aug. 30, 2003 in Blaine. He was born April 29, 1937 in Fairmount, N.D., to August and Margaret Miller and was a machinist.

He is survived by his wife, Saralyn; children, Peggy, Robert (Cathy), Janice (Barry) Metzen, Ronald, Scott, DeeDee (Ritchie) Bonneson; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother.

Pallbearers were Steven and Kevin Best, Kenny Hall, and Roger, Orin and Sonny Miller.

Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Richard Ronchak Sr.

Funeral services for Richard Ronchak Sr., 74, Anoka, took place Sept. 5, 2003 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Bernard Reiser officiated.

Ronchak died in Coon Rapids. He was born Aug. 13, 1929 in Superior, Wis., to Joseph and Mary Ronchak and was a federal government supervisor at Fort Snelling.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughter, Sue; son, Rick (Sue); granddaughter, Sarah Ronchak; great-granddaughter, Paige Elizabeth; and brothers, Joe (Lou) and Jim Ronchak.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Ronchak; and brother, Eugene.

Interment was at Epiphany cemetery. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Marie Schultz

Funeral services for Marie H. Schultz, 80, Andover, took place Sept. 11 at Oak Haven Church, Ham Lake. Rev. Fred C. Tuma officiated.

Schultz died Sept. 6, 2003 at Guardian Angels Care Center, Elk River. She was born Nov. 8, 1922 in Minneapolis to Gust E. and Edith M. (Magnuson) Johnson and was a retired clerk at Burlington-Northern Railroad.

She is survived by her husband, Carrol; son, Gerald Nagel; stepsons, Greg Schultz and friend Diane Johnson, Ronnie Schultz and wife Gleny; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Marlys Wallin, Doris Peterson; brother, Leland Johnson; sister-in-law, Clara Voss; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her stepson, Donny Schultz.

Pallbearers were Channon and Mel Schultz, Gene Lund, Dean Peterson, Kenneth Johnson and Henry Voss.

Interment was at Constance cemetery, Andover. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Michael Swanson Sr.

Funeral services for Michael R. Swanson Sr., 53, New Brighton, took place Sept. 3 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Chaplain Ron Brovold officiated.

Swanson died Aug. 29, 2003. He was born July 7, 1950 to Carl and Geraldine Swanson.

He is survived by his children, Mike Jr., Danny, Kersten, Stephanie; grandchildren; mother, Geraldine; brothers and sisters, Linda Goldeman (LeRoy), Nancy Johnson (Jim), Terry (Ardy), Wendy Hegland (Larry), Greg (Becky); nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and best friends, Randy Brink and Sue Christianson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl.

Pallbearers were David, Bart, Leslie and Jamie Goldeman, Tracie Arrowsmith, Tammy Dahlberg and Randy Brink.

Interment was at Epiphany cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.

Julie Burgeson

Funeral services for Julie A. Burgeson, 57, Maple Grove, took place Sept., 19 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Brooklyn Park. Rev. Ron Prasek officiated.

Burgeson died Sept. 16, 2003 in Robbinsdale. She was born Aug. 28, 1946 in Minneapolis and was a motivational speaker for Weight Watchers.

She is survived by her husband, Tom; children, Matt (Angela), Ann, Mike (Christine); stepchildren, Bernard, Andra; mother, Dorothy; grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Kyle; step-grandchildren, Mara and Maxxe; sister-in-law, Cindy; and niece, Megan.

She was preceded in death by her father, Cliff; and brother, Dave.

Pallbearers were Matt, Angela, Christine, Ann Mortenson, Megan Dahle and Ben and Andra Burgeson.

Interment was at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens Crystal. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
