Clemens Dargis

Funeral services for Clemens L. 'Clem' Dargis, 85, Champlin, took place Sept. 25 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Dale Ehrman officiated.

Dargis died Sept. 21, 2003 at North Residential Hospice Home, Brooklyn Center. He was born Aug. 30, 1918 in Rogers to Louis J. and Elizabeth M. (LaPointe) Dargis and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his son, Ronald (Paula) Dargis of Elk River; daughter, Jan (Doug) Erickson of Champlin; special friend, Lorraine Keniston of Champlin; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Erwin (Phyllis) Dargis of Anoka, Elmer (Kathy) Dargis of Cedar; sisters, Delrose Pilarski of Montrose, Leona Johnson of Anoka, Rosalyn (Richard) Bohn of St. Louis Park; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie; parents, Louis and Elizabeth Dargis; brothers, Donald and Richard Dargis; and sisters, Irene Madson and Viola O'Keeffe.

Interment was at Champlin cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Patsy Forslin

Funeral services for Patsy Ann Forslin (Long), 63, Anoka, took place Sept. 22 at Meadow Creek Church, Andover. Revs. James C. Thomason and Dan Swanson officiated.

Forslin died Sept. 17, 2003. She was born July 26, 1940 in Henriette to Chris and Eva Christensen.

She is survived by her husband, Charles; sons, Brian David Long (Bonnie) of Rush City, Bradley Dennis (Joel) of Big Lake; stepdaughters, Kari Zins (Rick) of Isanti and Robyn Frank (David) of Kimball; grandchildren, Joshua, Anna, Emily, Grant, Jacob, Aaron, Michael Kristina, Richard, Peter, Laura and Rebecca; mother-in-law, Marjorie Forslin of Cambridge; sisters, Betty Novak of Pine City, Eva Meyer of Milwaukee, Wis., and Elizabeth Ryg of Milaca; brothers, James Christensen of Poway, Calif., Richard Christensen (Barbara) of Tacoma, Wash., Gerald Christensen (Nita) of Pine City, and Donald Christensen (Cindy) of Maple Grove; many nieces, nephews and friends; and daughter-in-law, Virginia Vidor of Braham.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Jade Long; husband, Dewayne Long; and sister, Dorothy Nelson.

Pallbearers were Joshua, Jack, Jack, David, Keith and Joe Long.

Interment was at Stanchfield Baptist cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka

Elvera Gessell

Funeral services for Elvera A. Gessell, 65, Coon Rapids, took place Sept. 6 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Bernard Reiser officiated.

Gessell died Sept. 3, 2003 in Coon Rapids. She was born Dec. 12, 1937 in Dickinson, N.D., to Raymond and Ann Scheeler.

She is survived by her husband, Duane; children, Debra (Brad) Orrock, William (Patti) and Sandra; grandsons, Adam, Nick and Ken; and family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Raymond Jr.

Interment was at Epiphany cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

George Harves

Funeral services for George R. Harves, 61, Fridley, took place Sept. 15 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Michael A. VanSloun officiated.

Harves died Sept. 12, 2003. He was born Sept. 7, 1942 to George Henry Harves and Emily Scherber and was boilermaker and welder.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Melinda; daughter and son-in-law, Renee and David Gemmill; grandchildren, Robin, Chris Jr., Becky and Christina; brother, Ervan (Carolyn); and sisters, Marie Lundberg, Verena Lorentson; and Armella Gianos.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Emily; brothers, Roman and Ralph; and sister, Frances.

Interment was at Calvary cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Gearhart.

Ruth Mundinger

Funeral services for Ruth F. Mundinger, 59, Isle, took place Sept. 19 at Gearhart Anoka Chapel. Rev. Jim Martin officiated.

Mundinger died Sept. 11, 2003 in Coon Rapids. She was born Jan. 14, 1944 in Granite Falls to Herbert House and Helen Nueman, and was retired child support program director for Anoka County.

She is survived by her husband, Keith; son, Scott (Debbie); daughter, Michele; grandsons, Brandon, Travis, Tyler, Tommy; mother, Helen House; and brothers, James and Gene House.

She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert House.

She was cremated. Arrangements were by Gearhart.

Ernest Muonio

Funeral services for Ernest Muonio, 90, Champlin, took place Sept. 24 at Old Apostolic Lutheran Church, Minnetonka. Revs. James Rivers and Amund Pedersen officiated.

Muonio died Sept. 20, 2003 at Mercy Hospital. He was born Feb. 20, 1913 in Logan County, N.D., to William and Mary (Lehtola) Muonio and was a retired plumber.

He is survived by his children, Michael (Anita), David (Pamela), Stephen, Susan (Joel) Divine; 23 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia (nee Sarkinen); stillborn son; daughter, Rebecca; grandsons, Joseph and Zachariah; granddaughter, Amy; brothers, Edwin, Arnold and Francis; and sisters, Mildred Sarkinen, Marian Koskinieme, Hilma Bergman and Evelyn Korpela.

Interment was at Bloomington cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Richard Ronchak Sr.

Funeral services for Richard Ronchak Sr., 74, Anoka, took place Sept. 5, 2003 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Bernard Reiser officiated.

Ronchak died in Coon Rapids. He was born Aug. 13, 1929 in Superior, Wis., to Joseph and Mary Ronchak and was a federal government supervisor at Fort Snelling.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughter, Sue; son, Rick (Nancy); granddaughter, Sarah Ronchak; great-granddaughter, Paige Elizabeth; and brothers, Joe (Lou) and Jim Ronchak.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Ronchak; and brother, Eugene.

Interment was at Epiphany cemetery. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Ben Shorten

Funeral services for Ben. T. Shorten, 54, St. Francis, will take place today (Friday, Sept. 26), 12:30 p.m., at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Ramsey. Revs. Ed Treat and Tony Oelrich will officiate.

Shorten died Sept. 22, 2003 at Mercy Hospital. He was born Oct. 28, 1948 in Minneapolis to Jack L. Shorten and Louise K. Dellwo, and was a truck driver.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; stepdaughter, Tracy; mother, Louise; brothers, Jack, Rick and Pat; and sisters, Faith Scheerle and Hope Shorten.

He was preceded in death b by his father, Jack.

Pallbearers will be Jack, Rick and Pat Shorten, Rollie Olsen, Russ Lipke and Dave Smith.

Interment will be at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements are by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Ethel Sjobeck

Funeral services for Ethel Tasmania Kvale Sjobeck, 91, Mesa, Ariz., formerly of St. Cloud, took place Sept. 20 at Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud.

Sjobeck died Sept. 12, 2003 at the Banner Gardens Hospice House in Mesa, Ariz. She was born April 29, 1912 in Sheyenne, N.D., to Christian and Thea (Redalen) Kvale. From 1961 to 1974, she worked at North Star Collection Agency in Anoka.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Forbes of Milwaukee, Wis., and Karen Sjobeck and husband Casey Mahon of Littleton, Colo.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Hugo and Virginia Sjobeck of Wyoming; sisters-in-law, Lois Sjobeck and Dorothy Sjobeck of St. Cloud; and daughter-in-law, Dianne Sjobeck of Portland, Ore.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sanford 'Sandy' Sjobeck; son, Gerald; and sister, Mildred Thompson.

Interment was at North Star cemetery, St. Cloud. Arrangements are by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Ralph Timmer

Funeral services for Ralph C. Timmer, 64, Anoka, took place Sept. 23 at Riverdale Assembly of God, Andover. Rev. Larry Hale officiated.

Timmer died Sept. 16, 2003 at Regions Hospital St. Paul. He was born Aug. 24, 1939 in Superior, Wis., to Clarence D. and Martha S. (Severson) Timmer was a manager for Northwest Airlines.

He is survived by his wife, Sigrid; sons, Bryan (Jodi) Timmer of St. Francis, Dale (Tiffany Stephens) Timmer of Anoka; daughter, Wendy (Mike) Delaney of Anoka; grandchildren, Sophia and Matthew Timmer and Richard and Dawn Delaney; mother, Martha Timmer of New Brighton; sister, Jean Plasch of Wisconsin; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Timmer.

Pallbearers were Kevin Baker, Bill Berge, Barry Douglas, Greg Hedlund, Lee Pinz and John Zgodova.

Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
