Lily Stevens
Funeral services for Lily Amelia Stevens, 85, Cedar, took place Oct. 13 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Norman R. Berg officiated.
Stevens died Oct. 8, 2003 at Cambridge Christian Home. She was born Sept. 14, 1918 in Beiseker, Alberta, Canada, to Fred Hein and Amelia Krause, and worked at Federal Cartridge for 18 years.
She is survived by her sons, Eugene, Kenneth and Danny; grandchildren, Sean, Troy and Tammie; great-granddaughter, Caitlyn Ann; and sister, Cathrine Olson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; daughter, Yvonne Lily; grandson, David Daniel; and six brothers and sisters.
Interment was at Forest Hill cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Loretta Tennison
Memorial services for Loretta Claire Tennison, 84, Grand Rapids, formerly of Anoka, took place Oct. 14 at the First United Church of Coleraine and Bovey. Rev. Arlin Tally officiated.
Tennison died Oct. 9, 2003 at Woodland in Grand Rapids. She was born Feb. 26, 1919 in Anoka County to Archie and Caroline (Downs) Ashmore and was raised by her grandparents, Joseph and Maggie Ashmore in Anoka, where she also attended school.
She is survived by her daughter, Linnea (Michael Jennings) Tennison of Occidental, Calif.; sons, Jim (Mary) Tennison of Cohasset and Dennis (JoAnn) Tennison of Bovey; sister, Lois Tennison of St. Francis; grandchildren, Duane and Gina Tennison and Diane (Timo) Mahonen; and great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Kate Mahonen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; infant son; grandson, Jamie Tennison; and brother, Elroy Ashmore.
Arrangements were by Rowe Funeral Home of Grand Rapids.
Alexander Von Mende
Funeral services for Alexander Thomas Isaac Von Mende 'Xander, ' 16, Anoka, took place Oct. 11 at Advent Lutheran Church, Maple Grove.
Von Mende died Oct. 7, 2003. He was born Nov. 29, 1986 and was a student at Anoka High school.
He is survived by his father, Heinrich P.H. (Tara) of Anoka; mother, Deborah (Chuck Collins) of Crystal; brothers, Heinrich C.K., Patrick Michael and Josef; grandparents, Heinrich U. and Ellen Von Mende, Roger Quast, Jean Quast; godfathers, Michael and Larry Brooks; and other relatives and many friends.
Interment was at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Crystal. Arrangements were by Evans Nordby Funeral Home, Osseo.
Judith Wenzel
Funeral services for Judith A. Wenzel, 60, Champlin, took place Oct. 16 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church.
Wenzel died Oct. 11, 2003 at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel. She was born May 3, 1943 in Minneapolis to Leonard W. Koerner Sr. and Sophie M. Hilke, and was vice president of Field Engineering.
She is survived by her husband, Marty; children, Nancy, Dave (Ann), Lynnette, Jeanette (Jerry) Lindsey; 10 grandchildren; mother, Sophie Koerner; brother, Lenny (Margie) Koerner; sister, Betty Guilmette; and many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Koerner Sr.; and daughter, Carole Renee.
Pallbearers were Denise, Joe and Steven Wenzel, and Len Koerner.
Interment was at Champlin cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Richard Didier
Funeral services of Richard 'Dick' Didier, 66, Anoka, will take place tomorrow (Saturday, Oct. 25) in Sanborn, N.D.
Didier died Oct. 20, 2003.
He is survived by his wife, Eloise; children, Keith, Carla (Tom) Korth and Anita (Greg) Koep; and grandchildren, Taylor, Makilyn and Cullen.
Interment will be in Sanborn, N.D. Arrangements are by Peterson-Johnson-Schuldt Funeral Home, Sanborn.
Florian Erickson
Graveside services for Florian Erickson, 80, Blaine, took place Oct. 17 at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Chaplain Bill MacKinney officiated.
Erickson died Oct. 10, 2003 at St. Anthony Health Care Center. He was born Oct. 11, 1922 in St. Paul and was a retired welder.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; son, William David; granddaughter, Renee Marie Salo; great-great-grandchildren, Drew Taylor, Lyndie Salo and Lucas Westover; sister, Evelyn Clink; and brother, Marris Erickson.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Dylan James Salo; and brother, Albert.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
George Goodrich
George Raymond Goodrich, 83, Tryon, N.C., formerly of Champlin, died Oct. 12, 2003 at his home.
Goodrich was born in Anoka, the son of the late George Foster and Elsie Dougherty Goodrich. He graduated from Anoka High School in 1937, and was a retired colonel, serving in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 20 years and later employed at the Pentagon for 10 years.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Heath Goodrich; son, George Philip Goodrich of Columbus, N.C.; daughters, Judy Meckle of St. Paul, Diane Kinoshita of Columbus, N.C., and Dr. Wendy Cropper of Lexington, Ky.; four grandchildren; two grandchildren; sisters, Marian Auchter of Coon Rapids, and Beatrice Hoppenrath of Gisela, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Goodrich; sisters, Elsie Dargis and Helen Stenglein; and grandson, Scott Meckle.
Arrangements were by McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, N.C.
Geraldine McKenzie
Funeral services for Geraldine (Gerry) McKenzie, 60, East Bethel, took place Oct. 21 at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, East Bethel. Rev. Steve Melander officiated.
McKenzie died Oct. 17, 2003 at her home. She was born July 25, 1943 to Alice and Harry Nelson in Frederic, Wis. She was employed at Plastics, Inc., St. Paul, before retiring in 1998.
She is survived by her husband, Guy Jr.; daughters, Tami (Rick) Johnston and children Allan, Steven, Michael, Angela, Tyler and Emily of New Hope, and Terry (Steve) Siedschlag of Blaine; stepchildren, Mitch McKenzie and sons Josh and Aaron, Bruce McKenzie and children Jeremy and Joanne, Rick (Judy) McKenzie and daughter Michelle, Ron (Sheri) McKenzie, Kathy (Mike) Schauer and children Mike and Mark, Barb McKenzie and children Tim and Nicole; sisters, Emma Jean Hinricks, Mary Ann Ulick, Betty Lou Magnuson, Darlene (Kenny) Bellefeuille, Sharon (Leo) Themmes; brothers, Byron (Ann) Nelson, Harold (Retta) Nelson, Dale Nelson, Leslie (Nikki) Nelson; sister-in-law, Billie Nelson; brother-in-law, Donald Anderson; 32 nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ida Jane, Lois Faye, Ina Mae (Anderson); brothers, Gerald and Kenny; and stepdaughter, Shelly (Dorn).

Loren Magnuson
Funeral services for Loren Edward Magnuson, 41, Coon Rapids, took place Oct. 20 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Michael Van Sloun officiated.
Magnuson died unexpectedly Oct. 15, 2003. He was born June 9, 1962 in Sauk Center to Jerome Magnuson and Marcella Drum and was a real estate appraiser.
He is survived by his wife, Jill; children, Nicholas, Bridgette, Valerie, Collin; siblings, Brian, Sheila (Mark), Kevin (Helen); sister-in-law, Brenda; and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Interment was at Epiphany cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Anoka Chapel.
Katie Murray
Funeral services for Katie Marie Murray 'Beanie, ' 16, Blaine, took place Oct. 21 at Peace Lutheran Church, Coon Rapids. Jay Carlson, pastoral assistant, officiated.
Murray died Oct. 16, 2003 at her home. She was born March 3, 1987 in Fridley to Gerald and Dawn Niemi Murray, and was a student at Blaine High School.
She is survived by her parents, Dawn and Gerald; sisters, Ashley and Megan; grandparents, Darlene and Richard Niemi, Cheryl and Frank Bodine, Dean Murray; great-grandmother, Ethel Levinski; aunts and uncles, Dale Niemi, Darla (John) Kellner, Brian (Sue) Murray, Eric Donine, Jennifer Trunnell; cousins, Shelby Niemi, Amanda Niemi, Becky and Christine Murray; and other relatives and many friends.
Pallbearers were Dan and Dale Niemi, John Kellner, Brian Murray, Eric Bodine and D.J. Levinski.
Interment was at Morningisde Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Blaine Chapel.
Chester Olson
Funeral services for Chester O. Olson, 90, St. Francis, took place Oct. 23 at Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Francis. Revs. J.R. Baumgarn and D.H, Baumgarn officiated.
Olson died Oct. 20, 2003 at Cambridge Health Care Center. He was born Oct. 1, 1913 in Appleton to Carl and Alice (Akre) Olson and was a retired Greyhound bus driver and 25-year owner of Chan's Arabians.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; son, Rich (Judy) Olson of Falcon Heights; daughter, Beverly (Jim) Cooper of Anoka; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Sherman (Ruth) Olson of Waconia; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lois; parents, Carl and Alice Olson; and brothers, Norval and Harley Olson.
Pallbearers were family members.
Interment was at Forest Hill cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
