Rita Miskavige

Funeral services for Rita Miskavige, 73, Andover, took place Oct. 23 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Joel Cycenas officiated.

Miskavige died Oct. 19, 2003 at her home. She was born May 17, 1930 in Helena, Mont., to Alphonse J. LeBlanc and Auroa Gregoire.

She is survived by her children, Ron (Patricia), Phyllis (John) Schei, Mike (Karen), Patrick (Wanda), Cynthia (Matt) Johnson, Christine (Mike) Carpenter, Tim (Annette); 20 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters; two brothers; and other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; and son, Ted Jr.

Pallbearers were Matt Shoop, Dan Schei, Eric, Jacobe and J.T. Miskavige, and Travis Stamper. Honorary pallbearer was Joshua Miskavige.

Interment was at Epiphany cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Anoka Chapel.

John Mueller

Memorial services for John E. Mueller, 63, Anoka, will take place Wednesday, Nov. 5, 7 to 9 p.m., at Champlin American Legion Post, Hayden Lake Road and Highway 169, Champlin.

A video celebrating Mueller and his accomplishments will be presented by QCTV at 7:30 p.m.

Mueller, a retired Anoka-Hennepin District 11 teacher, died accidentally Oct. 4, 2003 in Fargo, N.D. Funeral services and burial took place Oct. 9 in Wishek, N.D.

Marianna VanBuskirk

Funeral services for Marianne VanBuskirk, 23, Coon Rapids, took place Oct. 27 at Church of the Epiphany, Coon Rapids. Rev. Patrick Kennedy officiated.

VanBuskirk died Oct. 23, 2003. She was born June 3, 1980 in Crosby and was a computer system program analyst.

She is survived by her daughter, Arraina; mother, Julie Sturgill (Doug); father, Bill VanBuskirk (Cindy); sisters, Becky Dines (John) and Christy; brothers, Matt, Mike (Becky), and Tim (Robin); grandmother, Lena VanBuskirk; best friend, Michelle Witthuhn and Jean King; and many other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Bill, Mike, Tim and Matt VanBuskirk.

Interment was at Epiphany Center. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Alice Walker

Funeral services for Alice C. Walker, 76, Minneapolis, took place Oct. 25 at Gearhart Coon Rapids Funeral Home. Rev. Thomas Kunnel officiated.

Walker died Oct. 21, 2003 in Minneapolis. She was born March 9, 1927 in Red Lake Falls to Emery Violette and Agnes LaCoursiere, and owned her own hairdressing shop. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Eagles Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children, Joan (Dennis) Reopelle, Linda (Bruce) Nelson, Evelyn (Steve) Johnson, Earl (Sue) Walker, Susanne (Dennis) Dessellier; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth Eddins, Julia Jablinske and Helen Vaudrin; and many friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip; brother, Leonard Violette; and sisters, Marie Kolb and Rose Vaudrin.

Interment was at St. Joseph's cemetery, Red Lake Falls. Arrangements were by Gearhart.

Marvin Andersen

Funeral services for Marvin H. Andersen, 63, Blaine, took place Oct. 18 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, Blaine. Rev.s Richard Hofstad and Tom Kunnel officiated

Andersen died Oct. 13, 2003. He was born July 3, 1940 in Duluth to Harry and Lucille Andersen, and was a foreman for Excel Energy.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Lorine (Michael) Knutson, Kevin (Marnelle), and Lynette; grandchildren, Jessica Lynn and Theodore Robert; brothers, Kenneth, Wally (Judy) and niece Alicia; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marge and Fred Barron and niece, Sandy (Joe) Ogston; and nephew, Scott; former sister-in-law, Barbara Andersen; and may relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Lucille Andersen.

Pallbearers were Larry Kubiak, Rodger Pearson, Fred Barron, William Gould, Darrel Voorhees and Donald Strenge.

Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Louis Barker

Funeral services for Louis J. Barker, 64, Anoka, took place Oct. 30 at Hope Lutheran Church, Andover. Rev. Robert E. Schultz officiated.

Barker died at his home Oct. 27, 2003. He was born March 11, 1939 in Hibbing to Hiram C. and Anna Barker and was a foreman at Conwed Plastics and a security guard at Hannon Security.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne; daughter, Mary (Wally) Paschke of Andover; son, Elliot (Peggy) Lang of Coon Rapids; and grandchildren, Michael, Elise and Mark Boynton, Bridget and Michelle Lang, Jesse, Jonathan, and Joseph Barker Ulm.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram and Anna Barker; and son, Jesse Barker.

Pallbearers were Michael Boynton, Dick and Gene Bratsch, Willard Skjefte, Dennis Conley, Jeff Miller, John Fuerst and Bruce Skrukrud.

Interment was at Forest Hill cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Philip DeJarlais

Funeral services for Philip L. DeJarlais, 89, Champlin, took place Nov, . 3 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Chaplain Rex Beyer officiated.

DeJarlais died Oct. 30, 2003 at his home. He was born June 11, 1914 in Champlin to Alfred J. and Abbie M. (Ferron) DeJarlais, and was a 37-year employee of Federal Cartridge and Hoffman Engineering, retiring in 1979. He was also a ham radio operator.

He is survived by his daughters, Diana (Darrell) Norton, Elisabeth (Arthur) Headley; stepdaughter, Pat (Keith) Hesli; stepson, Boyd Barrott; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Inez Fredrickson.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Della and Betty; and brothers, Leo and Kenneth.

Pallbearers were Terry, Todd and Troy Hesli, Jamie Barrott, James, Christian and Theodore Norton, and Aaron Headley.

Interment was at Champlin cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Dawn Eggleston

Funeral services for Dawn M. Eggleston, 37, Ramsey, took place Nov. 1 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Bill DeZiel officiated.

Eggleston died Oct. 2, 2003 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital. She was born Dec. 3, 1965 in St. Paul to Robert and Peggy Ethen, and was a health insurance claims processor.

She is survived by her husband, Michael; sons, Matthew and Nathan; parents, Robert and Peggy Ethen; brother, Edward Ethen; and many other relatives and friends.

Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.

Ruth Joseph

Funeral services for Ruth N. Joseph, 96, Minneapolis, took place Nov. 1 at Gearhart Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Adrian Piotrowski officiated.

Joseph died Oct. 29, 2003 in Minneapolis. She was born June 7, 1907 in Deer Lodge, Mont., to Aubrey H. Russell Sr. and Lucy Coleman and was a retired retail employee.

She is survived by her daughter, Janyece M. Clausen; grandchildren, Julie M. Clausen, Paul D. Clausen and wife Pauline; great-grandchildren, Claire Clausen; son-in-law, Gary D. Clausen; and other relatives and friends.

Interment was at Oakwood cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Gearhart.

Millicent Owen

Funeral services for Millicent Owen, 76, Coon Rapids, took place Oct. 29 at Presbyterian Church of the Master, Coon Rapids. Rev. David Bierschwale officiated.

Owen died Oct. 24, 2003 at her home. She was born May 7, 1927 in Crookston and was retired from banking.

She is survived by her daughters, Gail Owen (John Sanders), Shelley Owen (Gary Wright); granddaughters, Anne and Erin Cravens, Jane and Libbie Sanders; siblings, Curtis (Barbara) Remington, Mary Thompson (David Hodgson), David Jackson, Bruce (Sandy) Remington, Roger Remington and Marjorie Bedner; and nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vinton.

Honorary pallbearers were Julie Fiedler, Sue Manion, Marilyn Commaford, Anne and John Stokke, Ruth Davis, Helen Steffen, and Linda Erickson.

Interment was at Joyce Chapel cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.

Patricia Visneski

Funeral services for Patricia S.A. Visneski, 67, Andover, took place Nov. 5 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Liane S. Rock officiated.

Visneski died Nov. 1, 2003 at her home. She was born Oct. 30, 1936 in Anoka to Claude Stafford and Laura Ferkingstad, and worked in accounting at Connexus Energy.

She is survived by her daughters, Lori (Terry) Schwanbeck and Linda Visneski; son, Scott; grandchildren, Brittany, Brenda, Bradley and Brandon Schwanbeck, Bryan and Alec Visneski; sister, Betty Roach; brothers, Milton, Gerald, Don and Dwayne Stafford; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; sister, Lorraine Holman; and brother, Howard Stafford.

Pallbearers were Milton, Gerald, Don, Dwayne and Raymond Stafford, and Bob Duclos.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
