Funeral services for Jacob A. Mettler 'Jake,' 25, Coon Rapids, took place Nov. 17 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Mettler died Nov. 13, 2003 in Coon Rapids. He was born March 27, 1978 in Cambridge.
He is survived by his mother, Deborah K. Gassett; father, Steven H. Mettler; sister, Denise Mettler K. Smith; brother, David E.L. Mettler; and other family and friends.
Interment was private in Wisconsin. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
William Olson
Memorial services for William A. Olson, 71, Coon Rapids, took place Nov. 22 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Liane Rock officiated.
Olson died Nov. 17, 2003 at Unity Hospital. He was born March 21, 1932 in Park Rapids to Oscar and Harriet Olson and was a 40-year employee of Graco Inc.
He is survived by his children, Carrie Olson, Nancy Olson, William (Kim) and Edward; grandchildren, Trista, Brooke, Kayle, Hunter, Nokomi and Lucas; sister, Betty Carlisle; and brothers, Donald (Betty), Charles (Marilyn) and Russ (Carolyn.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen; father, Oscar; mother, Harriet; and stepfather, John.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Douglas Richards
Memorial services for Douglas W. Richards 'Bud,' 79, Andover, took place Nov. 18 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Marcus Mork officiated.
Richards died Nov. 14, 2003 at his home. He was born July 14, 1924 in Minneapolis and was retired from General Mills.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; stepchildren, Raymond (Rose) Putnam, Sharon Devine, Diane (Dick) Heikkila, Rodney Putnam; and sister, Mildred Tanner.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Victor Roden
Funeral services for Victor H. Roden, 87, Long Prairie, took place Nov. 15 at Stephan-Stein Funeral Home, Long Prairie.
Roden died Nov. 13, 2003. He was born Feb. 2, 1916 in Albertville to Vincent and Elizabeth (Barnier) Roden. He was a retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Lorayne of Long Prairie; sons, Lawrence of Huxley, Iowa, Ronald of Phoenix, Ariz., Dennis (Jeanne) of Anoka, Gary of Spencer, Iowa, Vernon (Marion) of Long Prairie; daughters, Bonnie Georges of Long Prairie, Peggy (Bill) Kleckner of Brainerd, Mary Roden of Anoka and Anita (Leon) Swanson of Anoka; brothers, Frank (Gene) Roden of Anoka; sister, Lillian Elliot of Elk River; 31 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Elizabeth; brothers, Gil and Paul Roden; sister, Sophia Gardinier and Agnes Weise; and son, James Roden.
William Schmit
Funeral services for William T. Schmit, 58, Andover, took place Aug. 26 at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Rev. Bill Deziel officiated.
Schmit died Aug. 20, 2003 in Coon Rapids. He was born Feb. 20, 1945 in St. Cloud and was owner of WT Contracting.
He is survived by his children, Julie Gribel (Tim), Jason Schmit; life partner, Lanette Hlavka; mother, Kathryn Lezer; grandchildren, Leah, Justina, Nathan, Jonah, Peter, Grace, Cody, Dylan, Isaac and Cody; sisters, Betty Gaida (Pete), Marlene Chirhardt (Roger), Gloria Lenzen (Donny); brothers, Jerry Schmit (Carol), Denny Schmit (Toots), stepchildren, Shelley Lade, Lisa Bromwich, Bob and Eric Hlavka, Jackie Haasl; close friends, Sharon Anderson and Suzie Schmit; and other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Danny Schmit, and father, Louis Lezer.
Interment was private, Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Roman Sewald
Funeral services for Roman Sewald, 89, Crystal, formerly of Blaine, took place Nov. 26 at Kapala-Glodek-Malone Funeral Home. Rev. Bryan Pedersen officiated.
Sewald died Nov. 22, 2003 at North Memorial Medical Center, Robbinsdale. He was born July 26, 1914 in St. Paul to Roman and Eleonora (Harant) Sewald and was a retired operating engineer at General Mills. He was a World War II veteran serving in the Army Air Corps.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; daughter, Kathy Koch and husband Dan; son, Greg and wife Deb; grandchildren, Brandon, Jenna, Christie, Carrie, Carlie and Cassie; great-granddaughters, Debra and Danielle; brother, Frank and wife Teresa; sister, Marie Sorrels.
He was preceded in death by his brother, William; and granddaughter, Dena.
Interment as at Gethsemane cemetery, New Hope. Arrangements were by Kapala-Glodek-Malone Funeral Home.
William Stringer
Funeral services for William T. Stringer, 64, Andover, took place Nov. 20 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Larry Hale officiated.
Stringer died Nov. 17, 2003 in Andover. He was born Nov. 12, 1939 in Winchester, Ind., and was executive manager for a metal finishing company.
He is survived by his wife, Marsha; children, Kim Halde (Tim), Lisa Emmerich (Paul) and William Jr.; grandchildren, Tanya, Dion, Chelsea, Miranda and Tehya; stepdaughters, Jennifer Lara and Genevieve Bethiaume; and step-grandchildren, Megan, Jasmine, Jade, and Jimmy.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Judith.
Pallbearers were Jim Patterson, Tom Mellen, Larry Hennig, Chuck Klein, John Hilden, and William Stringer Jr.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Alvin Traum
Funeral services for Alvin L. Traum, 64, Blaine, took place Nov, 25 at Gearhart Funeral Chapel. Rev. Bob Johnson officiated.
Traum died Nov. 20, 2003 in Blaine. He was born Jan. 9, 1939 in Lanark, Ill., to Henry and Lillian Traum, and was a book binder for a printing company.
He is survived by his children, Brenda (Kevin) Bixby, Ted (Jody) Traum, Lynn (Dave) Francour, Sandy Beck DuPont and Rob (Peggy) Beck; 16 grandchildren; brothers, David, Harold (Rudy) and Hank Traum; and sister, Helen Longnecker.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie; and brother, Bob.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Suzanne Webinger
Funeral services for Suzanne M. Webinger, 54, Champlin, took place Nov. 25 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Webinger died Nov. 20, 2003 at her home. She was born June 19, 1949 in Toledo, Ohio, to Armand J. St. Yves and Elizabeth J. Robinson. She was a retired office manager at StrikeMaster.
She is survived by her husband, Roger; son, Chris (Michelle); brothers, Edward and Ted (Pat) St. Yves; sister, Barbara (Paul) Grim and Pat St. Yves; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Armand and Betty St. Yves.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Ewa and John Adamczyk
Funeral services for Ewa Adamczyk, 72, and John Adamczyk, 70, Coon Rapids and Warm Mineral Springs, Fla., took place Dec. 1 at Meadow Creek Church, Andover. Revs. James Thomason and Marian Szajner officiated.
They died in a car accident in Florida Nov. 23, 2003. Ewa Adamczyk was born Oct. 8, 1931 in Netreba, Poland, to Marcin Biszko and Helena Bakun and was retired from United Power Association. John Adamczyk was born May, 28, 1933 in Sptkowice, Poland, to Josef Adamczyk and Ewa Kuranda and was a carpenter.
They are survived by their sons, John, Peter (Beth) and Arnie (Kris) Adamczyk, Wesley Lesnianski; daughters, Shirley Adamczyk and Cyndie (Chad) Wenum; and granddaughters, Lindsey and Josie Wenum.
John Adamczyk was also survived by his brothers, Wojciech (Genowefa) and Stanley (Natalie) Adamczyk; and sisters, Rose Koba and Mary (Chester) Zaremba. Ewa Adamczyk was also survived by her brothers, Wasyl (Hasia) and Jozef (Alicja) Biszko.
Pallbearers for John Adamczyk were John, Peter, Arnie and Stanley Adamczyk, Chester Zaremba and Chad Wenum. Pallbearers for Ewa Adamczyk were Martin, Mirek and Jozef Biszko.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
James Charest
Funeral services for James A. Charest, 64, Elk River, took place Dec. 1 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Mike Van Sloun officiated.
Charest died Nov. 28, 2003 at Mercy Hospital. He was born June 27, 1939 in Anoka to Joseph and Helen H. (Daly) Charest, and was a bricklayer.
He is survived by his children, Kim (Jasem) Al-Yousifi of Kuwait, Kirt Charest of Elk River, Kent Charest of Elk River, Eva Marie (Christopher) Collette of Anoka, Annette (Darrell) Noon of Rogers, Kelley (Hussein) Hajjali of California; grandchildren, Basil and Ammani Al-Yousifi of Kuwait, Adam Charest of Elk River, Sheree Charest of Anoka, Carrie Charest-Valentine of Robbinsdale, Joshua Charest of Andover, Lucretia (Patrick) Quigley of Colorado, Andrew and Carlie Collette of Anoka, Lacey Noon of Rogers, Haley and Zachary Hajjali of California; great-grandchildren, Austin Beaudry of Minneapolis, Victoria Quigley of Colorado; sisters, Eva Marie Kreitz of Pequot Lakes, Mary Kay (Charles) Sell of Anoka, Celia (Donald) Foss of Pequot Lakes, Chanel (Keith) Hayford of Anoka, Jane (Dale) Robinson of California; former wife, Joyce of Dayton; mother-in-law, Mildred Butler of Anoka; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Edward and Helen (nee Daly) Charest; daughter, Lesa Ann Charest; granddaughter, Cherie Charest; and sister, Dorothy Cannon.
Pallbearers were Adam and Joshua Charest, Andrew and Christopher Collette, Darrell Noon and Adam Nash. Honorary pallbearers was Basil Al-Yousifi.
Interment was at Calvary cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
