Troy Davidson
Funeral services for Troy D. Davidson 'Troy Boy, ' 43, Blaine, took place Nov. 29 at Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Orville Hieb officiated.
Davidson died Nov. 23, 2003 in Fridley. He was born June 30, 1960 in Minneapolis to Richard and Beverly Davidson and was a car salesman for more than 20 years in Blaine.
He is survived by his father, Richard; brothers Anthony and Tom (Helen); and many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and mother, Beverly.
Pallbearers were Tony and Tom Davidson, Len Launderville, Jeff and Jeff Jr. Iverson, and Jeff Brenny.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Kenneth Gamm
Funeral services for Kenneth D. Gamm, 73, Dayton, took place Dec. 4 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Dennis Heiden officiated, .
Gamm died Nov. 29, 2003 at his home. He was born Jan. 24, 1930 in Burns Township to Bernard C. Gamm and Laura E. Wirz, and was retired superintendent with the city of Anoka, and a member of the Anoka American Legion and Dayton Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, LaVerne; children, Gary (Jan), David (Shirley), Julie (Larry) Bernu, Teresa Hogan, Debbie (Jim ) Zimmerman; grandchildren, Jason and Adam Gamm, Joe Gieser, Matthew and Lucas Gamm, Jacqueline Bernu, Justin and Joshua Hogan, Tylere, Jordan and Alyssa Zimmerman; brother, Merle (Jan) Gamm; and sister, Joyce (Leonard) Kliever.
Pallbearers were Jason, Adam and Matt Gamm, and Joshua and Justin Hogan.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Helen Hires
Graveside services for Helen Elvera Hires, 85, Muscatine, Iowa, took place Nov. 28 at Aspen Grove cemetery, Burlington, Iowa. Rev. John Griffith officiated.
Hires died Nov. 24, 2003 at Muscatine Care Center, Muscatine, Iowa. She was born July 27, 1918 in Waseca to Conrad and Judith (Lynquist) Swanson.
She is survived by her daughters, Diana Andres of West Burlington, Iowa, Theresa (Jim) Norris of Muscatine, Iowa, and Mary Chamberlain of West Burlington, Iowa; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters, Evangeline Savage of Burlington, Iowa, Bonnie Anker of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, Gloria Delaschmutt of Davenport, Iowa, Doris Anderson of Davenport, Iowa, Margaret Huisman of Elmwood, Iowa; brother, Donald Swanson of New London, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Carl Hires and Felix McNamee; parents; two sisters; and one brother.
Interment was at Aspen Grove cemetery Burlington, Iowa. Arrangements were by Lunning Chapel.
Mary Johnson
Funeral services for Mary Jane Johnson, 81, St. Louis Park, took place Nov. 29 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Evalyn Carlson officiated.
Johnson died Nov. 25, 2003 at North Memorial Hospital. She was born Aug. 17, 1922 in Minneapolis.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol Meyer (best friend Mark Wold) of Plymouth, Ellen Oliver (Bradley) of St. Louis Park, Becky Helm (Gary) of Degraff; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Quinlan.
Interment was at Sunset Memorial Park. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Donald Kondrak
Funeral services for Donald F. Kondrak, 69, Coon Rapids, took place Dec. 3 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Joel Cycenas officiated.
Kondrak died Nov. 30, 2003 at Mercy Hospital. He was born Oct. 23, 1934 in Minneapolis to John A. and Pauline H. (Nowak) Kondrak and was an accountant at Cargill.
He is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Gotsch and husband Scott, Angela Westphall and husband Joel; grandchildren, Michelle, Andrew, Porter and Shaun; siblings, Lillian Dzandzara, Brother DePaul, Ted Kondrak Sr. and wife Jane, Lucille Kondrak, Jerry Kondrak and wife Audrey, Vonnie Strandberg and husband John; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lavaun; grandson, Donny Rosenow Jr.; and parents, John and Pauline Kondrak.
Pallbearers were Joe and Ted Jr. Kondrak, Joe Walters, Scott Strandberg, Aaron Fredrikson and Danny Webinger.
Interment was at Epiphany cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Richard McFeters
Memorial services for Richard L. 'Dick' McFeters, 79, Ham Lake, took place Dec. 2 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. William Kirmsse officiated.
McFeters died Nov. 26, 2003 at Fairview Lakes Regional Hospital. He was born Dec. 23, 1923 in Minneapolis and was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was the retired director of first aid and water safety for the American Red Cross, a Red Cross volunteer, an Eagle Scout and active in Boy Scouts.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; daughter, Linda; sons, R.T. and Rand; grandchildren, Sean, Cody, Courtney and Ceilaigh; brother, Dale; sisters, Doris and Marcie; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and John; brother, Glen; and grandson, Aaron.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Roy Mehrkens
Funeral services for Roy A. Mehrkens, 81, Andover, took place Nov. 28 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Bill Deziel officiated.
Mehrkens died Nov. 23, 2003 at Mercy Hospital. He was born in Hay Creek in 1922 to John Mehrkens and Rose Hoffman, and was employed in insurance. He was a World War II veteran and a prisoner of war for 11 months after being shot down over Germany while a B-24 flight engineer in the 485th Bomber Group of 15 Air Corp.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes; children, Joseph (Helen) of Juneau, Alaska, Patti (Jim) Matzke and Mary (Robert) Schults of Maple Grove, John (Jean) of Plymouth; sister, Luella Martin of Edina; brother, Arthur (Ardys) of Elk River; nine grandchildren; and awaiting birth of first great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Maynard and Lawrence Mehrkens.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home.
Alice Prozinski
Funeral services for Alice A. Prozinski, 78, Ramsey, took place Nov. 21 at Gearhart Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Bill Deziel officiated.
Prozinski died Nov. 19, 2003 in Coon Rapids. She was born April 22, 1925 in Webster, S.D., to Robert and Erstina Murchel.
She is survived by her children, Anita (Ken) Gradin, Marlene (Lew) Hanson, Patricia Meyers, Walter (Susan), Michael (Janell); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four brothers; and two sisters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; two brothers; and three sisters.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by Gearhart.
Auna Russin
Funeral services for Auna Marie Russin, 21 months, Fridley, will take place today (Friday, Dec. 5), 1 p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Francis. Rev. J.R. Baumgarn will officiate.
She died Nov. 30, 2003 at Unity Hospital. She was born Feb. 17, 2002 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis, to Brian O. and Cheryl L (Cornelius) Russin.
She is survived by her parents, Brian and Cheryl; grandparents, Gordon and Edi Cornelius, Larry and Nancy Parks, John and Wanda Russin; and other relatives and friends.
Interment will be at St. John's Lutheran cemetery, Elk River. Arrangements are by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
John Wiff
Memorial services for John E. Wiff, 73, Sterling, Ill., and North Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Champlin, will take place Saturday, Dec. 13, 2 p.m., at Wesley United Methodist Church, Sterling, Ill.
Wiff died unexpectedly Nov. 18, 2003 in Fort Myers. He was born Sept. 28, 1930 in Martell, Wis., to Guy and Alice (Klein) Wiff. He taught math at the then-Anoka Junior High School for two years before starting a 30-year career in the chemical products division of Cargill, Inc. Wiff served two terms as the mayor of Champlin from 1964 to 1968. He sang in the choir at the Anoka United Methodist Church and was active in the Boy Scouts in Champlin. He and his wife also started J & L Paint Company. In 1969 Wiff and his family moved to Illinois where he became assistant manager of Cargill's Carpentersville plant.
He is survived by his wife, Lavona; children, Dr. Margaret Wiff and Hugh Whipple of St. Charles, Ill., Robert Wiff of Seattle, Wash., Joan Wiff of Chicago, Ill., John and Tina Wiff of South Elgin, Ill., and Suzanne Wiff of Chicago, Ill.; many grandchildren; and sister, Pat Wiff of Angora.
Donald Aho
Funeral services for Donald Aho, 59, Coon Rapids, took place Dec. 9 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Bernard Reiser officiated.
Aho died Dec. 4, 2003 in Fridley. He was born July 25, 1944 in Crosby and was manager of the home electronic monitoring program at the Anoka County Corrections Department. He was a retired lieutenant colonel in the USAF, serving 23 years, and was instrumental in establishing the AWACS program.
He is survived by his son, Richard; brother, John (Alice); and sisters, Donna Flaten, Rebecca Thieman (Greg) and Elizabeth Greening (Dean).
Interment was at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
