Bonita Firchau

Funeral services for Bonita J. 'Bonnie' Firchau, 55, Andover, took place Dec. 4 at Family of Christ Lutheran Church, Ham Lake. Rev. Gregory S. Coop officiated.

Firchau died Dec. 1, 2003 at Mercy Hospital. She was born April 13, 1948 in Minneapolis to William J. and Geraldine (Conner) DeWars.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin; children, Jason, Chad (Natalie) Trembley, Brian (Kristen Hernandez), Billie Mae; grandsons, Zachary, Tyler and Jacob; brother, Brad (Dawn) DeWars; and sister, Carol (Joe) Renda.

Pallbearers were Tyson, Diana and Dale Firchau, Cyril and Chuck Flansberg, Greg Globinski, and Tom Turnbom.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Francis Gere

Funeral services for Francis Gere, 91, Wyoming, will take place tomorrow (Saturday, Dec. 13), 1 p.m., at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Gere died Dec. 7, 2003 in Wyoming. He was born May 7, 1912 in Spencer, S.D., to Scott R. Gere and Bessie Harris and was a retired farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Clarabelle; daughters, Jeanine (Steve) Monroe Bennett and Margaret (James) Runke; son, Darold (Gwen) Gere; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Joy Schmalz and Carol Brood.

Interment will be Spencer, S.D. Arrangements are by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.

Thomas Johnson

Funeral services for Thomas 'TJ' Johnson, 52, Princeton, took place Dec. 8 at Williams-Hanson-Kaun Funeral Home, Princeton. Rev. Gailen Stone officiated.

Johnson died Dec. 4, 2003 in Princeton. He was born March 28, 1951 in Minneapolis to Donald J. and Jean M. (Stevens) Johnson and was a graduate of Spring Lake Park High School. He served in Vietnam while a member of the U.S. Air Force from 1970-72. With a degree in water and air analysis he worked in the Mt. St. Helens area after the volcanic eruption and on the Minnesota River Project.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Kelley Bates and husband Jerry of Circle Pines, Thomas J. Johnson II (TJ) and wife Carrie of New Richmond, Wis., Benjamin C. Johnson and wife Heather of Pine Island; grandchildren, Porter and Emilee Johnson; five stepchildren; eight step-grandchildren; two brothers; four sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death his parents; and one step-granddaughter.

Arrangements were by Williams-Hanson-Kaun Funeral Home, Princeton.

Mary Kircher

Mary Kircher, 72, Blaine, died Nov. 22, 2003. She was born July 31, 1931 to Roman and Mathilda Manderfeld in Kingmans Township, Renville County. She was a 29-year employee of Plastics, Inc.

She is survived by her children and grandchildren, Tom (Brenda) Kircher of Absorkee, Mont., and their children, Casey, Shawn and Jesse, Sue (Jim) Kane of Andover, and their children, Sarah and Kyle, Tim (Sandy) Kircher of Zimmerman and their children, Katie, Emily and Ben, Kathy Vandersteen of Oak Grove and her children, Olivia and Hannah; brother, Larry (Marlys) Manderfeld of Olivia; and friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerome; and sister, Phyllis.

Fredric Koehne

Fredric Weston (Buster) Koehne, 70, died Nov. 8, 2003 at his home in Clifton, Va. He was born June 6, 1933, the son of Weston and Evelene Koehne, longtime residents of Anoka.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine; son, Weston; daughter, Laura; one granddaughter, all in Virginia; and sister, Gretchen of Rancho Bernardo, Calif.

Clarence Kush

Funeral services for Clarence Kush, 70, Champlin, formerly of Coon Rapids, took place Dec. 3 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Bernard Reiser officiated.

Kush died Nov. 30, 2003 at his home. He was born Aug. 21, 1933 in Oslo and was retired from Barton Sand and Gravel/Tiller Corp., where he worked in construction.

He is survived by his son and daughter, Jerry (Stephanie) and Gloria Ann Olson (Don); grandchildren, Andrew, Nicole, Matthew and Mackenzie; brother, Henry (Gladys); sisters, Lorraine Kapler (Kenny), Marlene Kush and Sherry Hansions (Richard); sister-in-law, Yvonne Kush; special friend, Elva Otness; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne; children, Gregg and Gena; and brother, Daniel.

Pallbearers were Michael Brogen Jr., Julian Yerbich, Jim and Matthew Kush, Troy Hanson and Andrew Olson.

Interment was at St. John's cemetery, Nebish. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Lelborn Leibli

Funeral services for Lelborn Leibli, 87, Coon Rapids, took place Dec. 8 at Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. James Donald officiated.

Leibli died Dec. 4, 2003 in Coon Rapids. He was born July 28, 1916 in Noby to Leonard and Maggie Leibli, and was retired from trucking.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; sons, Tom (Ginger) and David; daughter, Marcy (Dan) Korbel; grandchildren, Jenny, Mike, Laura and Chris; and great-grandson, Nathan.

Interment was at Sunset Memorial Park, Minneapolis. Arrangements were by Gearhart.

Korinn Luke

Funeral services for Korinn M. Luke, 38, Andover, will take place today (Friday, Dec. 12), 11 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Tim Johnson will officiate,

Luke died at her home Dec. 7, 2003. She was born Jan. 22, 1965 in Minneapolis to Gordon C. and Carol A (White) Peterson and worked in administration for American Linen.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel; son, Michael; daughter, Cassondra; parents, Gordon and Carol Peterson of Coon Rapids; sisters, Kari (Clark) Nelson of Hudson, Wis., and Kaye (Thor) Pearson of Coon Rapids; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edward and Joyce Luke of Aitkin; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers are Michael Peterson, Edward Luke Jr., Thor Pearson, Todd Tomala, Kyle Blaha, Paul Sanstrom and Clark Nelson.

Interment is at Forest Hill cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements are by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Kitty Lund

Funeral services for Kitty Lou Lund, 79, St. Francis, took place Dec. 11 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. Rev. Tessa Moon Leiseth officiated.

Lund died Dec. 7, 2003 at Mercy Hospital. She was born Sept. 25, 1954 to Gordon A. and Lucille (Papke) Jenner and worked for Medtronic.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Wayne, Brandon (Cassie Knowles), Stacie (Peter) Urban and their children Delancy and Liam, Debbie (Mark) Maxfield and their children Grant and Britney, Tom (Bonnie) and family; mother, Lucille Jenner; sisters, Elizebeth (Roger) Geist, Betty Jean (Jerry) Fleischhacker, Gloria (Dan) Mathison; brothers, Harry (Kay) Erickson and Larry (Shari) Erickson; many nieces, and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gordon Jenner; brother, Wayne Erickson; and mother- and father-in-law, Anita and Clifford Lund.

Pallbearers were Wayne and Brandon Lund, Peter Urban, Joel Geist and Jim Kasa.

Interment was at Our Saviour's cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Colleen Oakes

Funeral services for Colleen Marie Oakes, 52, Andover, took place Dec. 5 at Family of God Lutheran Church, Brooklyn Park.

Oakes died Dec. 1, 2003. She had a dual career working for Northwestern Bell for 20 years and then as an inner-city elementary school teacher.

She is survived by her husband, Rod; children, Sara (Cory) Ramal, and Annie Oakes; parents, Charles and Roberta Reynolds; brothers, Charles Jr. (Jan) Reynolds, Jon (Annie) Reynolds; and sisters, Linda Noran, Marcy (Dean) Johnson, and Marty (Dave) Gartmaker.

Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Cheryl Olson

Funeral services for Cheryl D. Olson, 58, Anoka, took place Dec. 10 at New Life Church, Ramsey. Rev. Jay Snyder officiated.

Olson died Dec. 6, 2003 at Fairview-University Hospital. She was born June 5, 1945 in Hibbing to Lloyd C. Erickson and Shirley M. Tousignant.

She is survived by her daughter, Carrie (Troy) Hinchcliff; grandson, Brandon; father, Lloyd Erickson; brothers, Roger (Mary) Erickson, James (Linda) Erickson, David (Patti) Erickson; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Olson; and mother, Shirley Erickson.

Pallbearers were Roger, James, David, Shawn, Lucas and Joshua Erickson. Honorary pallbearers were Robert and Garry Olson.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Michael Peterson

Funeral services for Michael R. Peterson, 58, Coon Rapids, took place Dec. 5 at Faith Lutheran Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. James Donald officiated.

Peterson died Dec. 2, 2003 in Coon Rapids. He was born April 15, 1945 in Minneapolis to Westley and Ruth Peterson, and was a credit manager. He was a member of the Coon Rapids Lions Club, Coon Rapids Little League and Coon Rapids Snowflake Association.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; sons, Erik and Adam; mother, Ruth; sister, Sue (David) Crockett; brothers, John (Patti) and Roy (Tatyana); and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Westley.

Pallbearers were Derek Crockett, Rick Johnson, Monte Mahowald, Pat Novack, Jeff and Mark Olson, and Terry and Curtis Peterson.

Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids.
