Wesley Pierz

Funeral services for Wesley S. Pierz, 51, Anoka, took place Dec. 6 at Gearhart Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Peter Riolla officiated.

Pierz died Nov. 30, 2003. He was born March 16, 1952 in Chicago, Ill., to Wesley S. Pierz Sr. and Carolyne Baumann and was a data base manager for the National Marrow Donor Program.

He is survived by his wife, Maria; brother, Fred; sister, Jackie Bruggenthies; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Carolyne Pierz.

Interment was private. Arrangements were by Gearhart.

Roy Skiles

Funeral services for Roy D. Skiles, 24, St. Francis, formerly of Anoka, took place Dec. 8 at Calvary Baptist Church, Cambridge. Rev. David Gerhardt officiated.

Skiles died Dec. 3, 2003 at his home. He was born July 14, 1979 in Coon Rapids to Lester James and Joyce Darlene Skiles.

He is survived by his son, Anthony; parents, Lester and Joyce Skiles of St. Francis; sister, Kristina Skiles and her sons, Victor and Curtis Jr. of Minneapolis; aunts, uncles and cousins; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy Walter, Grace Saari, Carl D. Skiles and Hazel Stempson.

Pallbearers were Shawn Franer, Michael Palesopti, Curtis Peterson, and David, John, Mark and Paul Veronikas.

Interment was at Forest Hill cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Strike Funeral Home-Isanti Chapel.

Harvey Wickman

Funeral services for Harvey Wickman, 81, Blaine, took place Dec. 6 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church. Rev. Hilton Hammer officiated.

Wickman died Dec. 2, 2003 in Coon Rapids. He was born May 26, 1922 in Minneapolis and was a retired OSHA inspector.

He is survived by his wife, Marian; children, Diane Wick and Brian (Peggy); grandchildren, Nathan, Tanya and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Bailey, Ethan and Addison; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Gordon.

Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Adam Ahola

Funeral services for Adam J. Ahola, 16, Coon Rapids, took place Dec. 15, 2003 at Church of the Epiphany, Coon Rapids.

He is survived by his parents, Mark and Florence; sisters, Valerie and Melissa; grandparents, Richard and Anne Bannon; aunts and uncles, Lorna Mandler (Scott), Norma Eastwold (Scot), Les Ahola, Eric Ahola, Maxine Ahola, Anita Collins (Anthony), Stephen Bannon, Patricia Bannon (Rob), Beverly Bannon, Anna Marie Bannon and Richard Bannon Jr.; 25 cousins; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Reino and Ethel Ahola.

Interment was at Epiphany cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Betty Baldwin

Funeral services for Betty Lou Baldwin, 75, Coon Rapids, took place Dec. 12 at Spring Lake Park Baptist Church. Rev. Gary Mueller officiated.

Baldwin died Dec. 9, 2003 in Robbinsdale. She was born Nov. 26, 1928 in Kansas City, Mo., to Ira Melborn and Elva Lou Brown.

She is survived by her husband, Donald; sons, Curt K. (Dory), Scott E. (Stacee); nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; sister, Ada (Ralph) Berry; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Elva Brown.

Pallbearers were Matthew, Michelle, Melinda and Michael Baldwin, Mike Wipper and Evan Iblings.

Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Vicki Carr

Funeral services for Vicki J. Carr, 58, Ham Lake, formerly of Brooklyn Park, took place Dec. 18 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Liane Rock officiated.

Carr died Dec. 13, 2003 at Mercy Hospital. She was born Feb. 18, 1945 in Waterloo, Iowa, to Arno and Ruth E. (Sigman) Coon.

She is survived by her son, John Carr of Princeton; daughter, Kelly Turner of Cedar Falls, Iowa; grandson, Michael Turner of Cedar Falls, Iowa; mother, Ruth Sigman; brother, Randy (Janet) Ostby; sister, Becky Ostby, all of Waterloo; Iowa; longtime partner, Robert Burian of Ham Lake; special nephew, Clint Ostby of Fargo, N.D.; and nieces and nephews, Bree, Cassidy, Mary, Adam and Sarah, all of Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arno; and sister, Debbie Ostby.

Pallbearers were Clint, Randy and Adam Ostby, Mike Turner and Red Draille.

Interment is at 1 p.m. today (Friday, Dec. 19) at the Garden of Memories cemetery, Waterloo, Iowa, with visitation from noon to 1 p.m. in the Garden View Funeral Chapel, next to the cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.

Peter Dierker

Funeral services for Peter J. Dierker, 65, St. Francis, took place Dec. 12 at Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Francis. Revs. J.R. and D.F. Baumgarn officiated.

Dierker died Dec. 9, 2003 at Mercy Hospital. He was born in Berlin, Germany, Dec. 3, 1938 to Dr. Heinrich and Gisela (VonWallenberg) Dierker, and was a self-employed accountant.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; sons, Jimmie (Tara) Johnson of St. Francis, Damon (Jennifer) Dierker of Indiana, Charles Dierker of St. Francis; daughters, Jennifer (Ron Ward) Schultz of Minneapolis, Erika Dierker of Duluth; numerous foster children, including Jon, Matt and James; and grandsons, Samuel and Simon Johnson and Harper Ward.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Heinrich and Gisla Dierker.

Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Roger Ellefson

Funeral services for Roger L. Ellefson, 67, Ham Lake, took place Dec. 10 at Christ Lutheran Church. Rev. Margaret Guelker officiated.

Ellefson died Dec. 6, 2003 at his home. He was born July 11, 1936 in Santiago Township to John and Frances Ellefson and was employed in the oil refinery industry.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; daughters, Heidi Scholl (Terry), Gretchen Abeggien (Gene) and Jennifer Holscher (Randy); grandchildren, Emily, Michael, Samuel, Andrew, Abigail, Alexander and Elizabeth; brothers, Leslie (Betty) and Charles; sisters, Doris Chairpairini and Lucille (Dzuik); and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Frances Ellefson; and five sisters.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

John Erickson

Funeral services for John Gordon Erickson, 93, Anoka, took place Dec. 16 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Norman Berg officiated.

Erickson died Dec. 11, 2003 at Mercy Hospital. He was born March 25, 1910 in Anoka to Gustof Erickson and Amelia Stake, and was a retired custodian.

He is survived by his son, Fred (Isabel); daughter, Donna; and grandchildren, Kimberly Ferraro, Kevin Erickson, Stefan Erickson, Scott Erickson, Marci Hoeft, Robert Hoeft and Theresa Hoeft.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; son, Gerald; and sister and brothers.

Interment was at Forest Hills cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Gearhart.

Kitty Lund

Funeral services for Kitty Lou Lund, 49, St. Francis, took place Dec. 11 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. Rev. Tessa Moon Leiseth officiated.

Lund died Dec. 7, 2003 at Mercy Hospital. She was born Sept. 25, 1954 to Gordon A. and Lucille (Papke) Jenner and worked for Medtronic.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Wayne, Brandon (Cassie Knowles), Stacie (Peter) Urban and their children Delancy and Liam, Debbie (Mark) Maxfield and their children Grant and Britney, Tom (Bonnie) and family; mother, Lucille Jenner; sisters, Elizabeth (Roger) Geist, Bette Jean (Jerry) Fleischhacker, Gloria (Dan) Mathison; brothers, Harry (Kay) Erickson and Larry (Shari) Erickson; many nieces, and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gordon Jenner; brother, Wayne Erickson; and mother- and father-in-law, Anita and Clifford Lund.

Pallbearers were Wayne and Brandon Lund, Peter Urban, Joel Geist and Jim Kasa.

Interment was at Our Saviour's cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Louis Mujwid

Funeral services for Louis D. Mujwid, 68, Rice Lake, Wis., formerly of Coon Rapids, took place Dec. 12 at Assumption of the Blessed Mary Catholic Church, Strickland, Wis. Deacon Jim Roberge officiated.

Mujwid died Dec. 10, 2003 at his home. He was born Aug. 2, 1935 in Strickland to Anton and Sophie Mujwid. He was a member of the Blaine VFW.

He is survived by his wife, Margie; sons, Ronnie Mujwid of Isanti, Danny Mujwid (Tammy) of Isanti; daughters, Monica Trast (Marvin) of Washington, Sally Kraczek (Mike) of Rice Lake, Peggy Lubinski (Joe) of Ramsey; 15 grandchildren; brother, Anton (Nancy) Mujwid of South Carolina, Jerry (Betty) Mujwid of Ladysmith, Wis.; and sisters Patsy (Conrad) Manske of Turtle Lake, Wis., Marcy Martin of Eau Claire, Wis., and Janet Mujwid of Weyerhauser, Wis.

Interment was at Strickland Church cemetery.
