Nelita Nelson
Memorial services for Nelita Ann Nelson, 83, Anoka, took place Dec. 17 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Hilton Hammer officiated.
Nelson died Dec. 12, 2003 at her home. She was born Aug. 5, 1920 in Avon, S.D., to Simon and Ada (Pepper) Dirks and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Fleet Reserve Association Ladies' Auxiliary, Viking Unit.
She is survived by her son, Chip (Marge); daughter, Barb (Bruce) Hodson; grandchildren, Ben, Alex, Nelita Jane and Amy Jean; brother, Elgin Dirks; sister-in-law, Georgina Dirks; nieces, nephews, cousins; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; son, Chet; brothers, Robert and Ruben Dirks; and sister, Iris Brown.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Stanley Odson
Funeral services for Stanley E. Odson, 96, Anoka, took place Dec. 22 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Orville Olson officiated.
Odson died Dec. 17, 2003 at Twin Rivers Care Center. He was born Feb. 3, 1907 in Faribault to William S. and Caroline (Nelson) Odson and was retired from Federal Cartridge after 36 years.
He is survived by his children, Donna Finnell, Eldon (Jeanette) Odson, Dwina Odson, Dennis Odson and Jane Hill; 10 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Odson; and brother, Nelson Odson.
Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Essie Peterson
Memorial services for Essie M. Peterson, 79, New Brighton, will take place tomorrow (Saturday, Dec. 27), 11 a.m., at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Bill Steinke will officiate.
Peterson died Dec. 20, 2003. She was born March 14, 1924 in Anoka to George and Essie Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; children, Richard (Barbara), Diane Lawrence (Alan), David (Carol), Gloria Matthes (Kerry); nine grandchildren; five sisters; one brother; many nieces and nephews; and family and friends.
Interment will be private. Arrangements are by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Norman Shuldheisz
Funeral services for Norman E. Shuldheisz, 73, Anoka, took place Dec. 17 at Elim Baptist Church, Anoka. Rev. Robert Brunko officiated.
Shuldheisz died Dec. 11, 2003 in Mesa, Ariz. He was born Jan. 31, 1930 in Kulm, N.D.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; daughter, Gail (Robert) Dahl; son, Dale (Diane) Shuldheisz; grandchildren, Melissa and Michael Dahl, Julie, Andrew and Thomas Shuldheisz; sister, Kathleen Johs (Hilbert), and brother-in-law, Gene (Sharon) Quast.
Pallbearers were Melissa and Michael Dahl, Julie, Andrew and Thomas Shuldheisz, and Blaine Johs.
Interment was at Forest Hill cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Jean Sullivan
Funeral services for Jean B. Sullivan, 83, Anoka, took place Dec. 22 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Dennis Heiden officiated.
Sullivan died Dec. 17, 2003 at Twin Rivers Care Center, Anoka. She was born Dec. 23, 1919 in Bell County, Texas, to Rufus B. and Julia A. (Brock) Forrest, and was a retired beautician.
She is survived by her son, Rock (Kellie) Vickerman of Coon Rapids; grandsons, Jesse Vickerman of Valley City, N.D., and Jeff Vickerman of Coon Rapids; twin sister, Louise Gamblin of San Antonio, Texas; and sister, Grace (Garland) Martin of Waco, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack.
Interment was at Forest Hill cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Marjorie Tix
Funeral services for Marjorie A. Tix, 81, Ramsey, will take place this morning (Friday, Dec. 26), 11 a.m., at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Norman Berg will officiate.
Tix died Dec. 21, 2003 at her home. She was born May 3, 1922 in Olivia to Johannes L. and Olga R (Ness) DuHoux, and was retired from the dietary department at the former Anoka State Hospital.
She is survived by her son, Larry (Jackie) Hoagland of Dalbo; daughters, Barbara Hoagland Julian and Shirley A. Hoagland, both of Ramsey; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Lois (Leonard) Spohn of Aitkin; cousin, Craig Hansen of Colorado; and nephews, Jim (Denise) Spohn of Brooklyn Center and Mark (Pam) Spohn of Fridley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack DuHoux and Olga DuHoux Etienne; and husband, Robert L. Tix.
Pallbearers will be Scott Julian, Patrick and Jeff Hoagland, Jonah Palmborg and Jim and Mark Spohn.
Interment was at Forest Hill cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Russel Wehking
Funeral services for Russel F. Wehking, 65, East Bethel, took place Dec. 19 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. J.R. Baumgarn officiated.
Wehking died Dec. 15, 2003 at his home. He was born Feb. 27, 1938 in Hector of Floyd F.W. and Lila A (Buehler) Wehking and was a retired store manager at the Blaine Kmart.
He is survived by his wife, mary Lou; children, Roy Wehking, Terry Wehking both of Lake Elmo, Lynda (Jay) Gilbertson of East Bethel, Jay (Carmen) Wehking of Sioux Falls, S.D.; grandchildren, Dereck Bol, Jordan Wehking, Jake and Colton Wehking; brother, Henry (JoAnne) Wehking of Idaho; sister, Carol Peterson of Fargo, N.D., Janet (Dr. Blair) Bauer of Dickinson, N.D.; and other relatives and many friends.
Pallbearers were Don Eggert, Nelson Wyatt, Ken Koch, Val Wenger, Galen Hass, Walter Voss and Dave Henke.
Interment was at West Oak Grove cemetery, Oak Grove. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Mary Buckley
Funeral services for Mary Buckley, 67, longtime owner of the Anoka Coffee Shop, took place Dec. 31 at Anoka Wesleyan Church. Pastor Doug Swarthout officiated.
Buckley, a resident of Ramsey, died Dec. 28, 2003 at Mercy Hospital. She was born Jan 28, 1936 in Linton, North Dakota to Walter and Lydia Weisz and married
Joseph P. Buckley.
She is survived by daughter Kathleen (William) Wallace of Ramsey; son Patrick of Blaine; granddaughter April and brother and sisters John, Johanna, Ruby and Helen.
Buckley was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, daughter Colleen, sons Timothy and Casey, brother Jack and sister Frances.
Pallbearers were Bill Wallace, Pat Buckley, Dave Nathe, Scott Birchum Vern Christense and John Weisz. Internment was at St. Fridolin Cemetary, Champlin. Arrangments were made by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home of Anoka.
Agnes Fournier
Funeral services for Agnes Fournier, 95, Elk River, took place Dec. 27 at St. Andrews Church, Elk River. Father Joseph Korf officiated.
Fournier died Dec. 21, 2003 at the Guardian Angels Care Center in Elk River. She was born May 12, 1908 in Worthington to Frank and Katherine Spohn and married
Earl Ruschmeyer, was widowed, then married
Noel S. Fournier. She worked in sales with Stanley Home Products.
Fournier is survived by her children Robert (Jeanette) Ruschmeyer of Beverly Hills, Fla., Bonnie Jeanne (Fritz) Gappa of Anoka, Marlys (Al) Talbot of Elk River, Loraine (Lucian) Klersy of Elk River; 15 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Earl Ruschmeyer and Noel Fournier; grandsons James Klersy and Steve Petersen; brothers Edward Merrill, Clarence, John, James, Alfred and Francis Spohn; sisters Catherine Wredberg and Mary Grace 'Mae' Carlson.
Pallbearers were Joe Talbot, Jesse Talbot, Travis Klersy, Caleb Klersy, James Klersy and Tyler Frank.
Internment was at the St. Andrew's Parish Cemetary, Elk River. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg of Anoka.
Stanley Hansen
Memorial services for Stanley Hansen, 82, Mounds View, took place Dec. 29, 2003 at the Sunrise United Methodist Church on Long Lake Road.
Hansen is survived by his wife Faye, daughter Linda Bihler, son Edd (Rose) Hansen, sisters Elfreada Addy and Anna Mae Hansen, nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy/Seman Chapel.
Stephen Heller
Funeral services for Stephen Heller, 73, Coon Rapids, took place Dec. 29 at Gearhart Funeral Chapel. Rev. Bernard Reiser officiated.
Heller died Dec. 21, 2003 in Robbinsdale. He was born Nov. 2 in Minneapolis to Stephen and Rangmald Heller was an advertising manager and past president of the Robbinsdale Chamber of Commerce and Whiz Bang Days.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughters, Kathleen Jorgenson and Suzanne Heller-Dyer (Darren); and grandchildren, Jon Lawrence, Nichole Jorgenson and Michael Dyer.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel-Coon Rapids.
