Bernice Bluemke
Funeral service for Bernice I. Bluemke took place Jan. 25, 2006 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
She is survived by her children, Greg (Nancy), Gary, Debra (Ervin) Oertel and Beth (Scott) Enga; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert; son, Randall; and grandson, James Bluemke.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Harlin Brown
Memorial service for Harlin D. Brown, 78, Walker, formerly of Coon Rapids, will take place tomorrow (Saturday, Jan. 28), 3 p.m., in Cataract, Wis.
Brown died Jan. 21, 2006 at The Wellstead of Rogers.
He is survived by his wife, Rita; children, James Brown, Marcia (Kirby) Smith and Mary (Jacob) Murray; grandchildren, Brenda (Jeff) Anderson and Neil (Janet) Smith; great-grandchildren, Ella and Paige Anderson; stepmother, Ethel Brown; and special aunts, Helen, Virginia, Norma and Geraldine.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Pearl (Rice) Brown; and grandson Guy Smith.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Arthur Carlson
Funeral service for Arthur Sherman Carlson, 93, Coon Rapids, took place Jan. 12 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Mankato.
Carlson died Jan. 9, 2006 in Coon Rapids. He was born March 14, 1912 in Leyland, Iowa, to Albert and Anne Carlson. He farmed in Iowa, then was employed with furniture and oil companies in Forest City, Iowa, before moving to Mankato and then Minneapolis, where he worked in property management before retiring in 1974 and moving back to Mankato.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine of Coon Rapids; daughters, Sherill Bright and husband Richard of San Antonio, Texas, Lois Wagner and husband Dean of Andover; grandchildren, Deborah Hill and husband Bill of Salt Lake City, Utah, Kevin Wagner of Fridley and Lori Vigesaa and husband Erik of Osseo; great-grandchildren, Joe Veroeven and wife Audra of Waseca, Lucas Veroeven of Yankton, S.D., Whitney Veroeven of St. Clair and Haydyn Vigesaa of Osseo; three great-great-grandchildren; twin sister, Agnes of Forest City, Iowa; and sister, Ethel of Wanamingo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Odin and his wife Florence; sisters and brothers-in-law, Henrietta and Olaf Vogen, Ruth and Maurice Monson; and brother-in-law, Oswald Haugen.
Interment was at Oakland Cemetery, Forest City, Iowa. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
John Cottingham
Memorial service for John K. Cottingham, 74, Coon Rapids and Venice, Fla., will take place tomorrow (Saturday, Jan. 28), 2 p.m., at Coon Rapids United Methodist Church. Rev. Mark Miller will officiate.
Cottingham died Jan. 19, 2006 in Florida. His professional career was a lifetime of service to local government, including over 20 years as a city manager in five cities, before retiring in 1994. He was city manager in Coon Rapids from 1969 to 1978. He served as president of two Rotary clubs and the Minnesota City Management Association. He was a registered professional engineer and an Eagle Scout.
He is survived by his wife, Ann (Frisbie); and children and grandchildren, Kimm (Mark) Schneider and Maria of Minneapolis; Stephen (Marsha Morris), Kyle and Cody of Mora; Alan (Jane Budrow), Andrew, Rachal and Kerri of North Branch; and Gregory (Lynn Ottensmann), Barron, Candace and Colin of Grand Rapids.
Robert Cutinella
Graveside service for Robert J. Cutinella, 70, Coon Rapids, took place Jan. 17, 2006 at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine; sons, Stephen, Joseph, Anthony (Lisa), Andrew (Devon); grandchildren, Matthew (Stacy), Lindsay, Morgan and Ava; brother, Richard (Linda); sister, Janet Smaller; and nieces, nephews and friends.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
James Hawkins
Funeral service for James P. Hawkins, 75, New Hope, will take place Feb. 3 at Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids. Rev. James Martin will officiate.
Hawkins died Jan. 18, 2006 in Robbinsdale. He was born Feb. 25, 1930 in Owatonna to Oscar and Irene Hawkins and was a truck driver.
He is survived by his children, Jan Hettwer (Wally) Dummer, James L. 'Gus' (fiancee Staci Strande) Hawkins; grandchildren, Jessica, Jimmy, Mandi, Jeremy, Jeff; great-grandchildren, Megan, Kylie, Jackson; sisters, Eileen Zierath, Jean Kenneth, Ann Comeau; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his wife, Betty; and parents.
Inurnment will be at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements are by Gearhart Funeral Home.
Edward Heim
Funeral service for Edward R. Heim, 81, Ham Lake, took place Jan. 19 at Glen Cary Lutheran Church, Ham Lake. Rev. Paul R. Settergren officiated.
Heim died Jan. 16, 2006 in Andover. He was born April 15, 1924 in Boulder, Colo., to Rudolph and Pauline Heim and was retired machinist.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine; children, Daniel (Mary), Ann Marie (Fred) Ott, Patricia (Gary) Sorteberg, Deborah and James; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Hulda Stoppelmann; and brother, Paul (Dorothy) Heim.
Pallbearers were Rose Marie, Mary Ellen and Michael Fischer, Laura Baumtrog, A.J. Ondrey and Carl Ganter.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Anoka.
Donald Meyer
Funeral service for Donald L. Meyer, 78, Coon Rapids, took place Jan. 13, 2006 at First Baptist Church, Coon Rapids.
He is survived by his brother, Kenneth Meyer of Kansas City, Kan.; sisters, Harriet Storm of Lancaster, Calif., Marjorie Chilman of Cambridge, Lorraine Searles of Osseo, June (David) Stacy of Coon Rapids, Shirley (Warren) Osby of Minneapolis and Karen (David) Everetts of New Brighton; and special friend, Dorothy Kay of Anoka.
Pallbearers wee Michael and Jason Everetts, Dale and John Osby, Donn Searles and Steven, Jeff and Allen Meyer. Honorary pallbearers were Douglas and Eugene Chilman and Paul Osby.

Geoffrey Smith

He is survived by his parents, George and Ethel Smith of Anoka; children, Geoffrey, Kelsey and Joel; and brothers, David of Kansas City, Mo., and Dennis of Brackley, England.
Jeanette Sterger
Funeral service for Jeanette 'Jan' Sterger, 65, Coon Rapids, took place Jan. 21, 2006 at Faith Lutheran Church, Coon Rapids.
She is survived by her daughters Tracey Wood (Greg), Vickie Hensler (Mike), Kathy Mensen (Jeff Barnes) and Julie Chouinard (Andre); grandchildren, Tony, Jonell, Jamie, Alex, Kyle, Sean, Nickole, Dylan and Logan; sister-in-law, Norma Sears; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; parents; three sisters; and a brother.

Shirley Dentice
Funeral service for Shirley (LaBerge) Dentice, 54, Fridley, took place Jan. 24, 2006 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
She is survived by her daughter, Raeann Wynn; granddaughter, Megan; sisters, Bobbie Kriegel (Ar), Sharon Rienstra (Roger) and Donna Frank; one stepbrother; three stepsisters; seven nieces and nephews; 11 grand-nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilfred and Marge LaBerge; and sister, Toni Vega.

Kathleen Gjengdahl
Funeral service for Kathleen Ann (Carlson) Gjengdahl, 66, Coon Rapids, took place Jan. 30 at The Church of St. Paul, Ham Lake.
Gjengdahl died Jan. 25, 2006 at her home.
She is survived by her husband, Roger; sons, David (Kathy) and Randall (Dana); daughters, Laurie (Joseph), Mary Beth (Anthony), Madonna (James), Maria (Corey) and Jennifer; grandchildren, Alexander, Elizabeth, Rachel, Joseph, Olivia, Peter, Sarah, Evelyn, John, Laura, Molly, Daniel, Rocco, Madonna, Matthew, John Paul, Maria and Cecilia; sisters, Susan (Daryl) and Linda (Charles); brothers, Wayne (Mary), James, Michael and Thomas (Cindy); and many nieces and nephews.
