Margaret Murphy
Funeral service for Margaret I. Murphy, 75, Coon Rapids, took place Feb. 20 at Church of St. Timothy, Blaine.
Murphy died Feb. 17, 2006.
She is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Harlan, Millie Slawson, Marcie (Warren) Osborne; brothers, Don (Lorraine) Murphy, Bob Murphy; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and two brothers.
Interment was at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Kellogg. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel.
Mary Newberg
Funeral service for Mary Hattie Newberg, 84, Coon Rapids, took place Feb. 18 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel, Anoka. Rev. Norman R. Berg officiated.
Newberg died Feb. 13, 2006 at Lynwood Health Care Center, Fridley. She was born Nov. 23, 1921 in Hickory Township, Pennington County.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph; daughter, Janet (Lawrence) Cardinal; son, Harvey (Shirley) Hemmestvedt; stepchildren, Gayle (Dave) Egeland, Nancy Marsh, Bruce (Bonnie) Newberg and Jack (Barbara) Newberg; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Gilman Hemmestvedt and Stanley Stene; sisters, Lillian and Myrtle; and brother, Richard.
Pallbearers were Bruce and Jack Newberg, Scott Hemmestvedt, Gary Montegue, Greg Redmann and Dave Egeland.
Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Arnold Peterson
Funeral service for Arnold Bernard Peterson, 84, Elk River, took place Feb. 18 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Norman R. Berg officiated.
Peterson died Feb. 16, 2006 at Guardian Angels Care Center, Elk River. He was born April 25, 1921 in Ham Lake to Carl and Esther N. (Pedersen) Peterson. He was a retired foundry foreman at Central Casting in Minneapolis.
He is survived by his wife, Ann; children, Linda (Lester) Hughes, Maureen (Jerome) Zwecker, Dale (Teresa) Peterson; grandchildren, Jason, Nicole, Heather, Tania, C.J. and Leah; great-granddaughters, Grace and Sophia; brothers, Roy (Liz) Peterson, Norman (Betty) Peterson; sisters, Mildred (Robert) Rand, Adeline (Daryl) Hamm, Loretta Phillips (Jack Mitchell); and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Esther Peterson; and brothers, Harold and Alvin Peterson.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Janet Bronson
Memorial service for Janet Karen Bronson, 78, New Brighton, will take place today (Friday, March 31, 2006), 11 a.m., at Faith Lutheran Church, Coon Rapids.
She is survived by her husband, Kingsley "Dick;" children, James Harmon Jr., Deb Harmon, Steve (Jennifer) Harmon; stepchildren, Cindy (Ray) Doolittle, Scott (Diane) Bronson, Maggie (Craig) Larson, Rick (Val) Bronson, Jeff Bronson; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Jim (Nettie) Andrews; and sister, Lee Reid.
Interment is at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements are by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Robert Finseth
Funeral service for Robert Finseth, 74, Blaine, took place at Christ Lutheran Church March 20. Rev.Margaret Guelker officiated.
Finseth died March 16, 2006 in Columbia Heights. He was born March 11, 1932 in Glenwood to Schley and Bernice Finseth.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothea; sons, Gary and wife Brenda, Daniel and wife Betsy; grandchildren, Robert John and Emily; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by five brothers.
Interment was at Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis. Arrangements were by Kozlak-Radulovich Blaine Chapel.
LeRoy Howe
Memorial service for LeRoy L. Howe, 63, Coon Rapids, took place March 25, 2006 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
He is survived by his brothers, Steve (Deb) and Alan (Tracy); sisters, Linda (Ray) Karpen and Wendy Howe; children, Annemarie, Lisa and Darren; three grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Lawrence Jensen
Funeral service for Lawrence G. Jensen, 54, Coon Rapids, took place March 24, 2006 at Church of the Epiphany, Coon Rapids.
He is survived by his mother, Elvira; brothers, Brian (Andrea) and Jeff; nephew, Greg; niece, Aimee (Shawn) Arnold; great-nephews, Jordan, Garrett, Jacob and Matthew; and aunt, Marion St. Peter.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Harris Jensen.
Interment was at Epiphany Cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Marian Krantz
Funeral service for Marian Kathleen Krantz, 77, Coon Rapids, took place March 28 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Mark Tiede officiated.
Krantz died March 23, 2006. She was born May 17, 1928 in Des Moines, Iowa, to Hans Thomas and Esther Marie (Topp) Rasmussen. She was a member of the Danish American Fellowship and a longtime volunteer at Courage Center.
She is survived by her son, Alan (Karen) Krantz; grandchildren, Christina (Gibbs) Maynor, Alison (Ben) Kaufman, Braden and Kelsey Krantz; and great-grandchildren, Madelene, Gus and Katy Maynor and Charles Kaufman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; and son, Steven.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Delores McChesney
Funeral service for Delores Mae McChesney, 73, Ramsey, took place March 26 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel, Anoka. Rev. J.R. Baumgarn officiated.
McChesney died March 21, 2006 at Bethseda Rehabilitation Hospital, St. Paul. She was born Feb. 9, 1933 in Streeter, N.D., to Gustaf and Hertha (Deutscher) Dorr and was a home manicurist.
She is survived by her husband, James; children, Debbie (Chuck) Lawrence, Mark McChesney, Sandy (Craig) Sundermeyer, Kevin (Tuyet) McChesney, Keith (Dawn) McChesney; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Ray (Maxine) Dorr, Larry (Margie) Dorr; and sisters, Betty (Milo) Pfeifle, Luella (Larry) Langdon, DeElda Johnson, Pat Loche and Carla Rodgers.
Interment was at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Camp Ripley. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Joanne Quam
Funeral service for Joanne Gertrude Quam, 63, Ramsey, took place March 25 at Strike Funeral Home - Isanti Chapel. Rev. Douglas Johannsen officiated.
Quam died unexpectedly at her home March 21, 2006. She was born March 18, 1943 in Thief River Falls to Clarence and Bertha Hesse.
She is survived by her husband, Ed of Ramsey; sons, Ed Jr. and wife Pam Quam of Mora, Martin and wife Teresa Quam and their children, Zachary and Bryce of Blaine; daughter, Peggy Ford of Plymouth; brothers, Dwayne Hesse of St. Louis Park, Vincent (Gloria) Hesse of Thief River Falls, John (Peggy) Hesse of Thief River Falls, Joseph (Betty) Hesse of Backus, Jerry (Connie) Hesse of Thief River Falls; brother-in-law, Andy (Norma) Holen of Mille Lacs; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Rosie Holen.
Interment was in Strike Cemetery in rural Isanti.
Karl Ontko
Funeral service for Karl John Ontko, 76, Brooklyn Park, took place March 27 at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church of Plymouth. Rev. John Strommen officiated.
Ontko died March 23, 2006 at North Memorial Medical Center, Robbinsdale. He was born Nov. 29, 1929 in Minneapolis to John Stevens and Anna (Bakalar) Ontko.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; children, Deanna Gertz, Michael Ontko, Dr. Allen Ontko, Scott (Kathleen) Rogers, Lynette (Kurt) Schuldt, Shawn (Debra) Rogers; 12 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Curtis, Ryan and Travis Schuldt, Krystal and Ashley Space and Nick Rooney.
Interment was at West Oak Grove Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Geneva Roden
Funeral service for Geneva Marie Roden, 86, Ramsey, will take place today (Friday, March 31), 11 a.m., at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel, Anoka. Rev. Norman R. Berg officiated.
Roden died March 25, 2006 in a car accident. She was born Jan. 7, 1970 in Ham Lake to Ernest Anton and Alice Alida (Johnson) Anderson.
She is survived by her husband, Frank; children, Marlys (Dale) Rahn, Nancy Anderson, Carol (Jim) Parker. Gail (Larry) Trushenski and Roger Ruden; grandchildren, Troy Rahn, Toni Rahn, Wayne Anderson, Lori Anderson, Nicole (Nathan) Tenzer and David Trushenski; great-grandson, Jack Tenzer; sisters, Virginia Stewart, Phyllis Henrikson and Ruby Bandy; brothers, Earl "Bud" (LaVerne) Anderson and Charles (Janice) Anderson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Viola Fiddyment.
Pallbearers were Troy and Toni Rahn, Wayne and Lori Anderson, Nicole Tenzer and David Trushenski.
