Aaron Keller
Funeral service for Aaron Jon Keller, 25, Andover, took place April 1 at Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids. Rev. Greg Bodine officiated.
Keller died March 26, 2005 in Andover. He was born Jan. 15, 1980 in Minneapolis to Jonathon Keller and Cheryl Mashuga and was a machinist.
He is survived by his mother, Cheryl (Dale) Mashuga; father, Jonathon Keller; sister, Alisha (Mike) Haste; nieces, Alexa and Ashlyn; brother, Joshua Ryan Keller; grandmother, Carole Keller; grandfather, Earl Brown; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ryan Arik Keller; grandmother, Betty Brown; and grandfather, Peter A. Keller.
Interment was at Scandia Valley Cemetery, Lincoln. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.
Virginia Larsen
Funeral service for Virginia Agusta Larsen, 85, Maple Grove, took place April 6 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel, Anoka. Rev. John Rehnberg officiated.
Larsen died April 1, 2005. She was born June 3, 1919 in Utica, N.Y., to Simon Glen and Frances Elizabeth (Touhey) Moore. She was a World War II veteran and retired from TCF Bank.
She is survived by her children, Lona (Greg) Baker, Jayne Kangas, Scott (Sally) Larsen; grandchildren, Nathan and Anne Baker, Leah and Erin Kangas, Westley Larsen and Leslie Fontaine; and many other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Anne and Nathan Baker, Leslie Fontaine, Erin and Leah Kangas and Westley Larsen.
Interment was at Champlin Cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Barbara Leaf
Funeral service for Dr. Barbara E. Leaf, 63, Brooklyn Park, took place April 2, 2005 at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, Brooklyn Center.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; sons, Eryc (Kelley), Andrew and John Leaf; grandson, Max; siblings, Jim (Diane) Harmon, Patsy (Jerry) Henderson, Lois Harmon, Annie (Rex) Robichek; and many other relatives and friends.
Interment was at Mound Cemetery. Arrangements were by Evans-Nordby Funeral Home.
Richard Magee
Memorial service for Richard M. Magee, 76, Coon Rapids, took place April 1 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Warren Lightboy officiated.
Magee died March 28, 2005 at Lynwood Health Care Center. He was born July 11, 1928 in Urbana, Ill.
He is survived by his brother, Edward Magee (Doris); sister, Geraldine Perry (Paul); daughter, Laurie Honkala; son, Wayne Honkala; grandchildren, Krystle Patnode, Seth and Ty Honkala; and many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn; and parents, Theodore and Opal.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Kathleen Murphy
Funeral service for Kathleen M. Murphy, 58, Coon Rapids, took place April 1, 2005 at Totino-Grace High School, Fridley.
Murphy was at Totino-Grace High School for 30 years, retiring in 2004 as principal. She also taught at Our Lady of Peace High School and Regina High School.
She is survived by her sister, Suzanne Schmid (James); brothers, Thomas (Lauren), James (Sue); nephews and niece, Timothy Schmid (Jennifer), Steven Schmid (Jelika), Cathy Schmid, Sean Murphy and Joey Murphy; and grand-nephew, Kamren Schmid.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Mildred Padgett
Memorial service for Mildred L. Padgett, 79, Coon Rapids, took place April 4 at Coon Rapids United Methodist Church. Rev. Mark Miller officiated.
Padgett died March 28, 2005 at Unity Hospital. She was born Nov. 21, 1925 in Winnebago.
She is survived by her children, John (Peggy), Larry (Bonnie), Paul and Charlie; stepdaughter, Karen Green; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; three sisters; two brothers; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Elizabeth Butler.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Beverly Peel
Funeral service for Beverly Elizabeth Peel, 81, Maple Grove, took place March 31 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel, Anoka. Sister Nora Klewicki officiated.
Peel died March 28, 2005 at Mercy Hospital. She was born Feb. 25, 1924 in Minneapolis to Arthur and Hedwig (Maslow) Magnuson and was a retired school cook.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and David Tostenson of Andover; three grandsons; two great-granddaughters; brother, Fran Magnuson of Plymouth; sister, Dorothy Smith of Osseo; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; and son, Robert.
Private interment was at Epiphany Cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Eugene Povlitski
Funeral service for Eugene 'Whitey' Povlitski, 57, Coon Rapids, took place April 2 at Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids. Rev. Bill Steinke officiated.
Povlitski died March 25, 2005 in Anoka. He was born Feb. 22, 1948 in Breckenridge to Eugene and Angeline Povlitski and was a check proofer.
He is survived by his sister Fonda; brother-in-law, Keith; special nephew, Ryan; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Angeline Povlitski; sister, Terry; niece, Angela; and grandparents.
Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.
Mary Schiel
Funeral serve for Mary Louise Schiel, 68, Brooklyn Park, took place April 1 at Prairie Oak Community Church, Andover.
Schiel died March 26, 2005. She was born March 29, 1936 in Minneapolis to John and Elizabeth (Johnson) Schiel. She was semi-retired from many years working at US Bank.
She is survived by her brothers, John Schiel (Roberta) of St. Cloud, Richard Schiel (Juanita) of Fairfield, Calif.; sisters, Carolyn Londo of Brooklyn Park and Barbara Knoll (Gary) of Rockford, Ill.; 11 nieces and nephews; and good friend, Deb Hawkinson and her daughter, Sarah.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Larry Londo; nephew, Mike Schiel; and niece, Andrea Schiel.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Joel Thomsen
Funeral service for Joel Richard Thomsen, 46, Anoka, will take place today (Friday, April 8), 11 a.m., at Nowthen Alliance Church. Rev. Maurice Russell will officiate.
Thomsen died April 4, 2005 at Methodist Hospital, St. Louis Park. He was born Jan. 25, 1959 in Minneapolis to Richard George and Corrine Frances (DeCamp) Thomsen. He was a superintendent with Adolphson and Peterson Construction.
He is survived by his wife, Jan; children, Jason, Jacob, Jenna and Jill; mother, Corrine Thomsen; brother, Eric (Karla); sisters, Kay (Dave) Worden and Amy (Cliff) Rowe; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard.
Pallbearers were Darin and Devin Coons, Cory and Dustin Thomsen and Jeremy, Joshua and Justin Hass.
Interment was at Lakeview Cemetery, Nowthen. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Francis Thompson
Funeral service for Francis Peter Thompson, 87, Fridley, took place April 5 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel, Anoka. Rev. Timothy Johnson officiated.
Thompson died April 2, 2005 at Lynwood Health Care Center, Fridley. He was born Jan. 25, 1918 in Anoka County to Samuel and Carrie (Olson) Thompson. He was a retired custodian in the Red Wing School District.
He is survived by his wife, Bernette; children, Richard (Carol), Elaine (Richard) Olson, Ralph (Vera Lee); stepchildren, Dean (Cheryl) Ramsay, Caryol (Ken) Taylor, Sonja (Bob) Spilde; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Jesse (Frank) Olson, Caroline Wallin; and many other friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie; four brothers; and one sister.
Pallbearers were Forest, Wade and Randy Thompson, Eric Knudsen, Jim Ritten and David Ramsay.
Interment was at Long lake Cemetery, Isanti. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
