Gladys Wheeler

Funeral service for Gladys Linda Wheeler, 85, Andover, took place April 15 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel. Rev. Liane S. Rock officiated.

Wheeler died April 11, 2005. She was born Feb. 7, 1920 in Minneapolis to Gerald Milton and Ella Catharina (Pierson) Packard.

She is survived by her children, Ralph Wheeler (Deborah Dorr) and Polly (Mick) Stenquist; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and brothers, Orvis and Seth Packard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; daughter, Sandra Hohlen; and brother, Milton Packard.

Pallbearers were Ralph Wheeler, Michael Stenquist, Christopher and Bradley Frich, Daniel Lund and Eric Anderson.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Joanne Williams

Funeral service for Joanne Lee Williams, 40, Blaine, took place April 14, 2005 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

She is survived by her significant other, Ross Woody; daughter, Jamie Williams (Justin Opheim); grandson, Andrew; father, James Williams; sisters, Mary Winch (Jim), Lisa Burgess (Lenny); and many friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Leila Williams; and nephew, Joey Tagg.

Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Funeral Home.

Leslie Woken

Funeral service for Leslie Eldon Woken, 81, took place April 21 at Faith Lutheran Church, Coon Rapids.

Woken died April 18, 2005. He was born Oct. 30, 1923 in Parshall, N.D. He was a Navy air crewman in World War II and was retired from B.F. Nelson Manufacturing Company.

He is survived by his sons, Mark (Janice) of Bock, Erick (Diane) of Coon Rapids and Curt (Carol) of Andover; grandchildren, Jason Woken, Gina (Harlan) Halenpa, Westerly (Jamison) Anderson, Justin Woken and Jennifer (Jason) Fluguear; great-grandchildren, Isabel Anderson, Isaac Anderson and Tate Fluguear; sisters, Kathleen Peterson and Beverly Woken; brothers, Miles, Larry, Jack and Robert; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, DeLauris; parents; and four brothers.

Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Delbert Dunbar

Memorial service for Delbert E. Dunbar, 78, Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Coon Rapids, will take place at 11 a.m. tomorrow (Saturday, April 30) at Presbyterian Church of the Master, Coon Rapids.

Dunbar died April 19, 2005 in Phoenix. He was born Dec. 31, 1926 in Fergus Falls. He was an Army veteran, moved to Coon Rapids in 1950 and worked for Park Construction for 35 years.

He is survived by his son, Stan Dunbar; sisters, Agnes Moss and Laurie Moinicken; brothers, Darwin, Leo and Earl Dunbar; grandchildren, Ian, Noah, Katlynn and Adam; and great-grandchildren, Gaven and Alexandra.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet; and sons, Dennis and Tim Dunbar.

Jonathan Gustner

Funeral service for Jonathan Michael Gustner, 51, East Bethel, took place April 25 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel, Anoka. Rev. Fred C. Tuma officiated.

Gustner died April 21, 2005 at his home. He was born June 12, 1953 in Minneapolis to Douglas Leo and Shirley Ann (James) Gustner and was a commercial real estate appraiser for R.A. Field and Associates.

He is survived by his wife, Patty; children, Charlie and Lauren; parents, Douglas and Shirley Gustner; brothers, Douglas (Kathy), Jim (Sue) and Scott (Danielle); sister, Susan (Todd) Lewison; and nieces, nephews and friends.

Interment was private. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.

Gladys Fisher

Funeral service for Gladys J. Fisher, 73, Anoka, took place April 18 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. David Blume officiated.

Fisher died April 13, 2005 in Anoka. She was born July 17, 1931 in Anoka to Stanley Biernat and Agnes Rockwell.

She is survived by her husband, Elmer J.; daughters, Cindy (Pat) Haider, Vicky (Dennis) Cichy and Loretta (Mike) Shaw; grandchildren, Steven, Kristie, Mike and Taylor; brothers, Stan, Ted, Ed and Joe Biernat; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by baby girl Fisher.

Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Gearhart Anoka Funeral Home.

Theresa Little

Funeral service for Theresa Loretta Little, 47, East Bethel, took place April 16 at Gearhart Anoka Funeral Home.

Little died April 13, 2005 in East Bethel. She was born Feb. 9, 1958 in Lansing, Mich., to James Hennessey and Arvilla Beckler.

She is survived by her husband, Wade; son, David; daughters, Heather, Jennifer and special friend Mike; grandson, Payton; granddaughter-to-be, Haillee; mother, Arvilla Hennessey; father and stepmother, James and Barb Hennessey; mother-in-law, Dorothy Little; and many brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Ronnie Hennessey; and father-in-law, Daniel Little.

Arrangements were by Gearhart Anoka Funeral Home.

Norman Kiefer

Funeral service for Norman E. Kiefer, 74, Monticello, formerly of Coon Rapids, took place April 22 at Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel, Monticello.

Kiefer died April 17, 2005. He was born March 26, 1931 in Coulterville, Ill., to Lucinda and William Kiefer. He served four years in the Air Force during the Korean War, 1951-1955. Following graduation he worked on the Titan missile in California and Washington, then moved to Minnesota where he worked on the Apollo and MK46 projects at Honeywell. In 1972 he started his own business with Snap-On Tools, serving the north east area of Minneapolis. While a 20-year resident of Coon Rapids, he was a member of the Coon Rapids Beautification Committee and built a Christmas display which he donated to the city.

He is survived by his wife Marjorie: sons, Keith and wife Mary Ann of Ramsey, Steve and wife Carol of Hudson, Wis.; daughter, Karen Arne and husband Kevin of Andover; grandchildren, Kristina, Theresa, Josephine, Virginia, Candace, Brianne, Jena and Ashley; brother, Noal Kiefer and wife Yvonne of Biloxi, Miss; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, Lucinda and George Kiefer.

Arrangements were by Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel.

Diane Malcolm

Funeral service for Diane Ruth (Perry) Malcolm, 70, Anoka, took place April 18 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka.

Malcolm died at her home April 15, 2005 after being diagnosed with leukemia in December 2004. She was born Nov. 26, 1934 in Chicago, Ill., and was a graduate of the first nursing class of St. Olaf College. She worked for the Anoka-Hennepin School District as a licensed public school nurse for over 17 years (1982-1999). Her primary position was with the Early Childhood/Special Education program, while consulting at multiple elementary schools in the Anoka area. At Zion Lutheran Church, she was active in circle, prayer groups and served on the business and music worship committees. She was also active in the Kiwanis Club of Anoka, the Anoka County Faith Partnership, and the Philolectian. Recently, though Kiwanis, she was co-chairperson in charge of food procurement and distribution supporting the Anoka Christmas Committee.

She is survived by her husband, Ron; children, Dr. Perry (Dawn) Malcolm, Kathy (Dr. Matthew C.) Yelle, Lt. Col. Scott (Vicky) Malcolm, and Laura (Michael Brown) Malcolm; grandchildren, Drue, Mitchell and Bron Malcolm, Megan, Matthew R. and Erin Yelle, Madeleine Malcolm; and sister, Janet Nathanson.

She was preceded in death by her parents George F. and Edna C. Perry.

Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Hildegard Mogdans

Funeral service for Hildegard Mogdans, 81, Andover, took place April 13 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Oak Grove. Rev. Michael Kennedy officiated.

Mogdans died April 8, 2005 in Andover. She was born April 2, 1924 in Tomaschow, Poland, to Wilhelm Preibisch and Albertine Brotmann.

She is survived by her sons, Peter (Susanne) Mogdans; grandchildren, Amy (Lee) Ferree and Brian (Jennifer) Mogdans; great-grandchildren, April and Jessica Ferree; sisters, Else Netzel and Erna (Harry) Pomsel; brother, Walter (Brigitta) Preibisch; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilhelm and Albertine Preibisch; and great-grandson, Michael.

Arrangements were by Gearhart Anoka Funeral Home

Russell Nicewarner

Private memorial service took place for Russell W. Nicewarner, 94, Coon Rapids.

He died April 17, 2005.

He is survived by his daughter, Carol Lee (Roy) Turner; grandchildren, Kim (Tony) Park, Scott Turner; two great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elfrieda Clark.

Interment was in Arizona. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Gladys Tollefson

Funeral service for Gladys E. Tollefson, 66, Coon Rapids, took place April 27 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Kjell Ferris officiated.

Tollefson died April 24, 2005 at her home. She was born July 20, 1938 in Glenwood, Wis., to Frank W. Winberg and Anna A Holldorf.

She is survived by her husband, Orlando; children, Rene (Steven) Hentges, Mark (Michele), Tara (Peter) Larkin and Trent; grandchildren, Jeremy, Joshua, Zachary and Emily; great-grandson, Jack; brother, Roger (Bennet) Winberg; sister, Arliss Melby; and many other relatives and friends.

Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
