Linda Schiebel

Funeral service for Linda Schiebel, 57, Anoka, formerly of Cumberland, Wis., took place June 18 at Skinner Funeral Home, Cumberland. Rev. Steve Miller officiated.

Schiebel died June 15, 2005 at Rochester Methodist Hospital, Rochester. She was born Oct. 2, 1947 in Cumberland to Allen and Lucille (Gunderson) Schiebel. She worked in the Anoka-Hennepin School District 11 lunch program for eight years. In 1987, she became director of the District 738 food program in Elk River until she retired in 2004. She was president of the School Food Services Directors of Minnesota in 1987-88.

She is survived by her mother, Lucille Schiebel of Cumberland; sister, Mari Schiebel of Cumberland; brothers, Tracy (Lori) Schiebel and Scott (Jane) Schiebel, both of Cumberland; two nephews; three nieces; one great-niece; and one great-nephew.

She was preceded in death by her father, Allen.

Pallbearers were nieces and nephews, Jason, Aaron, Krista, Katie and Kim Schiebel.

Interment was at Lakeside Cemetery, Cumberland. Arrangements were by Skinner Funeral Home.

Michael Town

Funeral service for Michael E. Town, 10, Coon Rapids, took place June 15 at Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids. Rev. Carol Kniskern officiated.

Town died June 11, 2005. He was born Oct. 28, 1994 in Coon Rapids to Merrilee and Paul Town.

He is survived by his parents, Merrilee and Paul Town; brother, Ben and partner Beth; sisters, Autumn and Emily; friend, Erik; and other friends and family.

Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home.

Sun Yi

Graveside service for Sun Hui Yi, 80, Fridley, took place June 21 at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids.

Yi died June 18, 2005 in Fridley. She was born June 25, 1924 in Korea.

Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.

Tucker Barthel

Funeral service for Tucker Joseph Barthel, 7, Ramsey and Elk River, will take place today (Friday, July 1), 1 p.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Timothy Johnson will officiate.

Barthel died June 25, 2005 in Ramsey of cancer. He was born Sept. 22, 1997 in Coon Rapids to Timothy Wayne and Kerry Ann (Lay) Barthel. He was a first-grade student at Washington Elementary School, Anoka.

He is survived by his parents, Timothy Barthel, Kerry (Mark) Tousignant; sister, Ashley Barthel; stepbrother, Cole; stepsister, Alexis Tousignant; grandparents, John and Wanda Lay, Richard and Sharon Barthel; and many aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Dave Barthel, David Lay, Dave Sheehan, Art Greco, Charlie Giese and Brian Mitchell.

Interment was private. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Edward Bray

Funeral service for Edward P. "Pete" Bray, 65, Hill City, formerly of Blaine, took place June 24 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Grand Rapids. Rev. Thomas Radaich officiated.

Bray died June 22, 2005 at Evergreen Terrace, Grand Rapids. He was born May 2, 1940 in Minneapolis to Edward and Gertrude Bray. He was a machinist and also worked in construction.

He is survived by his daughter, Deb (Fred) Gordon of Mora; sons, James Bray of Hill City, John (Rosann) Bray of Hill City, Joseph (Mitzy) Bray of Hill City, Daniel (Deana) Bray of Elk River; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Eva Urman of Robbinsdale; and brothers, Richard (Lorraine) Bray of Elk River and Jerry (Lois) Bray of Crystal.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Alice Weltz; and brothers, Stanley, Bob and William Bray.

Interment was at Hill Lake Cemetery, Hill Lake Township. Arrangements were by Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids.

Linda Chounard

Funeral service for Linda Lee Chounard, 49, Ramsey, took place June 27 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. J.R. Baumgarn officiated.

Chounard died June 23, 2005. She was born Feb. 18, 1956 in Princeton to Earl Raymond and Laura Hazel (David) Jones.

She is survived by her husband Joe; daughters, Nikki Chounard of Ramsey, Maria (Brian) Bunes of Ham Lake; grandsons, Tyler and Carden Bunes; brothers, Duane (Millie) Jones of Coon Rapids, Lyle (Margaret) Jones of Ramsey, Harris (Yolanda) Jones of Ham Lake; sister, Arlene (Jim) Kent of Dalbo; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and best friend, Diann Rosburg of Ramsey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Laura Jones; and father-in-law, Richard "Porky" Chounard.

Pallbearers were Scott Kent, David Doebbeling and Mike, Robert, Dennis and Kenneth Jones.

Interment was at West Oak Grove Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Geraldine Dexter

Funeral service for Geraldine A. "Jean" Dexter (nee Deminsky), 66, Coon Rapids, took place June 27 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Warren Lightboy officiated.

Dexter died June 22, 2005. She was born Aug. 13, 1938 in Minneapolis.

She is survived by her sons, Steve and Robert Dexter; daughters, Terry Ann (Stephen) Biegler, Mary Kay Dexter (Paulette Larsen), Kelly Dean (Roehler); grandchildren, Jessica, Cora, Joshua, Erin, Tyler, Dean, Talesha and Toni; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Keith, Allantae, Jasmine, Austin and Alex; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven; daughter, Cindy Jean Dexter; great-granddaughter, Christina; patents, Michael and Lucille Deminsky; brother, Kerry D., Deminsky; mother-in-law, Leone Dexter; father-in-law, Steven Dexter; and brother-in-law, Jerry Dexter.

Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.

Kermit Dunham

Memorial service for Kermit Wallace Dunham, 54, Cedar, took place June 22 at Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Anoka.

Dunham died June 19, 2005 at Mercy Hospital. He was born May 20, 1951 in Fergus Falls to Wallace and Wanda (Wilson) Dunham. He was a self-employed truck driver.

He is survived by his mother, Wanda; siblings, Terry (Mary Jo), Paul (Shirley), Robin ( Mike) Dahlstrom, Brian, Kelly (Bob) Thurston; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wallace; and brother, Bradley.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home.

Valerie Erickson

Funeral service for Valerie Ann Erickson (Sobek), 34, Coon Rapids, took place June 24 at Faith Lutheran Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. James Donald officiated.

Sobek died June 19, 2005. She was born Aug. 10, 1973 in Coon Rapids and was a nurse assistant.

She is survived by her husband, Brian; children, Brandon and Crystal Amunrud; parents, Bob and Rose Sobek; brother, Daniel Sobek (Annette); sisters, Renee Geisinger (Rick), Jeanine Sobek (Nicole Trueman); father-in-law and mother-in-law, Steve and Phyllis Erickson; and other relatives and friends.

Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Haakon Flattum

Memorial service for Haakon 'Hokie' Flattum, 92, Clitherall, formerly of Coon Rapids, took place June 23 at the Eagle Lake Lutheran Church. Rev. Donald Peterson officiated.

Flattum died June 19, 2005 at his home. He was born March 15, 1913 in Cloquet to Andrew and Oline (Johnson) Flattum. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942-1945 during World War II and worked as a diesel mechanic for Zieglers Inc. for 24 years.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; children Rose Ann Dols of Brooklyn Park, Ken (Gail) Flattum of Shoreview, Steve Flattum of Fridley, Nancy (Andy) Barnd of Wells, Sandy (Joel) Simmons of Knoxville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Dave, Deb, Brian, Jessica, Nick and Emma; great-grandson, Jordan; niece, Loretta (John) Raiha; and nephew, Ken (Nancy) Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Clarence and John 'Harry;' sister, Gladys; niece, Lois; and nephew. Bobby.

Deloris McHugo-Haynes

Funeral service for Deloris McHugo-Haynes, 90, Coon Rapids, took place June 20 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids.

McHugo-Haynes died June 15, 2005.

She is survived by her children, Mary Burgess, Judy (Art) Solie, Lynne (Dennis) Dischinger, Theresa McHugo, Pat (Judy), Rita McHugo, John (Thanh), Kate McHugo, Lorie (Jim) McLellan, David (Kathy), Susan (Daryl) Jolson; daughter-in-law, Michelle McHugo; 41 grandchildren; and 47 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Francis McHugo and Maurice Lovell Haynes; brother, John Keiffer; and son, Timothy.

Interment was at Gethsemane Cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
