Ronald Brown
Memorial service for Ronald Lawrence Brown, 64, Mission, Texas, took place Sept. 8 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel, Anoka. Rev. Eric Walbolt officiated.
Brown died Aug. 30, 2005 in Hidalgo, Texas. He was born June 25, 1941 in Minneapolis to Gordon Melvin and Ellen Marcella (Sandell) Brown and was a retired machine operator.
He is survived by his wife, Maria; children, Dennis Brown (Nancy Bursey), Debra (Greg) Holloway, Richard Brown and Sherry Randel; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; parents, Gordon and Ellen Brown; brother, Robert (Carolyn) Brown; three nieces and one nephew; and several cousins.
Interment was at Champlin Cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Gage Cremers
Funeral service for Gage Steven Cremers, 10 weeks, Big Lake, took place Sept. 9 at St. Francis United Methodist Church. Rev. Rhodie Jacobson officiated.
He was born June 25, 2005 and died Sept. 4, 2005.
He is survived by his parents, Joshua and Desiree; grandparents, Steven and Peggy Cremers, Larry and Sandra Golyer; great-grandparents, Earl and Marian Cremers and James and Lorraine Rorvick; aunts and uncles, Tara (Troy) Such, Weston, Barrett (Jennifer) and Shain Golyer; cousins; and friends.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Richard Davis
Funeral service for Richard C. "Dick" Davis, 83, Maple Grove, took place Sept. 5, 2005 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Davis was retired plant operations superintendent at the Lino Lakes Correctional Facility.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores; daughters, Kathy (Roger) Danielson, Vicky (Phil) Entinger; stepsons, Bill (Kathy) Quiggin, Jerry (Deb) Quiggin; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Davis; sister, Marian Levine; nieces; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and soon-to-be-born grandchild; and special family friends, Jim and Cherrelle Piotraschke.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Victoria Davis; wife, Germaine; sons, James and Richard; infant son, Joseph; and stepson, Russell.
Interment was private at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Lino Lakes. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Edgar Downing
Funeral service for Edgar C. Downing, 86, DeLand, Fla., formerly of Anoka, took place Aug. 5 at Lankford Funeral Home, DeLand. Rev. Bill Yesse officiated.
Downing died Aug. 2, 2005. He was born Nov. 5, 1918 in Crookston and was in sales for tractor supplies before retiring.
He is survived by his wife, Manda I. Downing; daughters, Marge (Earl) Gentry of DeLand, Fla., and Arlene (Lance) Borows of DeBary, Fla.; son, Eugene (Evon) Downing of Cassleberry, Fla.; brother, Elmer Downing of Brainerd; sisters, Lavina Gordon of Valley City, N.D., and Agnes Rose; grandchildren, Lance Borows Jr., Mike Buckmaster, Debbie Morris, Kathy Dees, Lori DeWitt; and greatgrandchildren, Branden, Brett, Savannah, Amber, Erica, Robert, Austin, Robbie, Darlene and Rachel.
Interment was at DeLand Memorial Gardens, DeLand, Fla. Arrangements were by Lankford Funeral Home.
Eric Ericson
Funeral service for Eric Foster Ericson, 81, Woodridge, Ill., formerly of Bemidji and Anoka, took place Sept. 8 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Rev. David N. Blume officiated.
Ericson died Sept. 4, 2005 at his home. He was born Feb. 23, 1924 in Anoka to Eric Fred and Inez M. (Anderson) Ericson. He was a retired manager at Swift Meat Company in Chicago, Ill., and a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his daughters, Diane (Jim) McIntyre and Nancy Ericson; grandchildren, Erin Colleen and Eric James McIntyre; brother, Donald (Roberta) Ericson; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; and sister, Connie Anderson.
Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Ann Ferguson
Funeral service for Ann Ferguson, 84, Coon Rapids, took place Sept. 6 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids.
Ferguson died Aug. 30, 2005 at Park River Estates Care Center, Coon Rapids. She was born in Weyhauser, Wis., to Charles and Elizabeth Zmuda.
She is survived by her sons, Ronald (Judy), David (Delene) and Daniel; daughters, Patty and Shirley; brother, Edward (Mary); sisters, Verna Bazewicz, Martha Cooke, Josie (Larry) Hopkins, Clara (Don) Zachman, Marcella (George) Kasper; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Brady Ferguson; son, Dennis; and brothers, Stanley and Anthony Zmuda.
Interment was at Gethsemane Cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Aimee Gilles
Memorial service for Aimee E. Gilles, 68, Coon Rapids, took place Sept. 8 at Washburn McReavy-Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Mark Poorman officiated.
Gilles was born Oct. 29, 2005, 1936 in Minneapolis to Chester and Ellen Stebbins.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph; children, Mike Simon, Michelle Simon and Denise Parker (Joe); four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and brother, James Stebbins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Ellen Stebbins.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Colleen Johnson
Funeral service for Colleen T. Johnson (Weyek), 44, Blaine, took place Sept. 7 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids.
Johnson died Sept. 2, 2005. She was born Sept. 30, 1960.
She is survived by her husband, Curt; daughter, Angela; stepson, Dustin Stevermer (Amy); grandson, Chase; father, George; siblings, Debbie Gallipo (Kent), Renee Weyek, Scott Weyek, Bonnie Weyek, Lynne Wierzba (Dave); 10 nieces and nephews; grandniece and grandnephew; special friends, Bruce and Kim Leitheiser, Tom and Sherry Steck and Ramone and Mary Zamarripa; and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Donna.
Interment was at Epiphany Cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Roy Karkhoff
Funeral service for Roy William Karkhoff, 89, Anoka, took place Sept. 15 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church. Rev. Dennis Heiden officiated.
Karkhoff died Sept. 11, 2005 at Twin Rivers Care Center, Anoka. He was born Aug. 30, 1918 in Minneapolis to Arthur William and Laura (Harthun) Karkhoff and was a retired auto mechanic at Main Motors.
He is survived by his wife, Vera; daughter, Roxann Karkhoff Schweitzer (Herbert) of Loveland, Calif.; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Aileen Bickford.
Pallbearers were Donald and Ronald Bickford, Roy Kalkbrenner, John Ewert, Ronald Roberts and Robert Luedtke.
Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Norma Lindquist
Memorial service for Norma May Lindquist (Scherer) took place Sept. 7 at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, Wayzata.
Lindquist died Sept. 1, 2005. She was retired after 27 years as office manager for Prudential.
She is survived by her daughter, Lorna Thompson; son, Drue; grandchildren, Danielle, Delis and Diana; sisters and brothers, Bernadine Matushak, Roy (Shirley) Scherer, Carol (Gordon) Christenson and Judy Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Ken Lindquist; and parents, Orus and Fay Scherer.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Donovan Minder
Memorial service for Donovan Grant 'Doc' Minder, 65, Burleson, Texas, formerly of Anoka and Burns Township, took place Sept. 9 at Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel, Burleson.
Minder died Sept. 5, 2005. He was born June 25, 1940 in Anoka to Florence Edith Wyatt and Benjamin Eli "Grant" Minder. He was a retired cost analyst with the Burlington-Northern Railroad, transferring to Fort Worth, Texas, with the company in 1984. He retired in 1994 after 32 years of service. He served on the town board and as mayor of Burns Township and was a Lions club member, was a 4-H leader with Burns Progressive 4-H Club and a member of the Pony of Americas Club in Minnesota and in Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Dorene of Burleson; daughters, Nicolle and husband Brad Boyd of Morgan Mill, Texas, and Liz and husband Scott Davis, of Amarillo, Texas; granddaughter Regan Elizabeth Davis; sisters Pat Smuder and husband Sam of Elk River and Dolly Reynolds and husband Mickey of Champlin; mother-in-law, Doris Herges and husband Herb of Mascoutah, Ill.; numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Norman Parvey
Funeral service for Norman D. Parvey, 81, Blaine, took place Sept. 9 at Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids. Rev. Dennis Heiden officiated.
Parvey died Sept. 3, 2005 in Coon Rapids. He was born March 8, 1924 in Gackle, N.D., to William and Anna Parvey. He was the retired owner/operator of a neighborhood service center.
He is survived by his wife, Vernette; sons, Dr. Dennis (Paula) and David (Linda); grandchildren, Daniel Parvey, Emily (LeRoy) LaPlant, Adam, Becky and Jason Parvey; sisters, Marjorie (Charlie) Todd of California, and Rev. Constance Parvey of Massachusetts.
Pallbearers were David, Dennis, Jason, Adam and Daniel Parvey and LeRoy LaPlant.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.
