Robert Jund
Funeral service for Robert James Jund, 68, Coon Rapids, took place Oct. 12 in Perham. A prayer service took place Oct. 13 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Jund died accidentally Oct. 7, 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, David, Caren (Zon), Donald (Jean); grandchildren, Zach, Chas, Alex, April, Donald and Tony; and great-granddaughter, Brooklyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Erna and Tony Jund.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Stephen Kraft
Funeral service for Stephen Michael Kraft (Fleming), 11, Coon Rapids, took place Oct. 11 at Church of the Epiphany, Coon Rapids.
Kraft died accidentally Oct. 6, 2005. He was a student at Epiphany Catholic School.
He is survived by his parents, Mike and Laura Kraft; brother, David; sisters, Maria, Catherine and Elizabeth; grandparents, Arnold and Jane Kraft, Mike and Dorothy Fleming; uncles, Brad (Cynthia), Tim (Nancy), Jeff (Christine) Kraft; aunts, Tracy (Vern) Tharp, Virginia (Russell) Tschida, Catherine Fleming; and cousins, Michelle, Andrew and William Kraft, Anna and John Tschida.
Interment was at Epiphany Cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Robert Olson
Memorial service for Robert L. Olson, 83, took place Oct. 5, 2005 at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church, Vadnais Heights.
Olson served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant in Italy during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; sons, Russell and Larry (Sandy); four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Lois.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie; and sister, Doris.
Interment was private at Cross Lake. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Helen Swanson
Funeral service for Helen Ruth Swanson, 83, Coon Rapids, formerly of Andover, took place Oct. 12 at Constance Free Church. Rev. Randy Discher officiated.
Swanson died Oct. 7, 2005 at Volunteers of America-The Homestead, Coon Rapids. She was born Oct. 18, 1921 in Hawarden, Iowa, to Walter Clyde and Florence Mattie Clarinda (Fogleson) Hamilton.
She is survived by her children, Robert (Joyce) Swanson, Ronald (Marion) Swanson, Joann (Lynn) McCarty, Gerald (Denise) Swanson, Sandra Swanson and Greg Swanson; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois Ingersoll and Bernice Lundin; brothers, Ed and Earl Hamilton; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellward; sister, Evelyn Hamilton; and brothers, Charles, Harold and Lloyd Hamilton.
Pallbearers were Tony, Jeff and Jim Swanson, Kevin McCarty, Chris Parks and Brian Bennett.
Interment was at Constance Cemetery, Andover. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Warren Wells
Funeral service for Warren Otto Wells, 85, Anoka, took place Oct. 7 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. David N. Blume officiated.
Wells died Oct. 4, 2005 at his home. He was born Sept. 11, 1920 in Anoka to Otto William and Bertha Lucille (Ridge) Wells. He was a charter member of Carpenters Local 851 and a member of the Anoka American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Grace; sons, James (Judy), Robert (Donna) and Alan (Roxanne); daughters, Kathleen Holm and Mary (Greg) Schantzen; grandchildren, Brian, Cindy, Dave, Don, Mike, Mark, Erik, Kristofer, Michael and Kristi; great-grandchildren, Josh, Sarah, Maddie, Joey, Addie, Ben, Jacob and Andrew; brother, Lloyd 'Babe' Wells; and sisters, Nancy (Myron) Pieri and Alice Chamberlain.
Pallbearers were David, Michael, Don and Mark Wells, Erik and Kristofer Holm and Michael Schantzen.
Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Wesley Bulen
Funeral service for Wesley Jay Bulen, 91, Princeton, formerly of Anoka, took place Oct. 29 at the Princeton United Methodist Church, Princeton.
Bulen died Oct. 23, 2005 at Elim Nursing Home. Princeton. He was born Oct. 6, 1914 in East Dayton to Leo Jay and Bertha Mae (Karstedt) Bulen. In 1947, he and his wife moved to Anoka, where he worked for Land O' Lakes. In 1951, the family moved to an 80-acre farm north of Anoka where they lived until April 1997. Besides farming, he worked for Federal Cartridge in Anoka for 26 years, retiring as foreman in 1979. In 1983, the Bulens established Rum River Hills Golf Course on the family farm.
He is survived by his daughters and son, Delores (Robert) Gorr of Anoka, Margie Wesloh of Princeton, Douglas (Brenda Lear) Bulen of Pueblo, Colo., and Ardis (Joel) Aarhus of Princeton; brothers, Willis of Chisago City and Robert of Nashotah, Wis.; seven grandchildren; 11 and one to be born great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by Della; parents; infant brother, Cecil; brother, Bert; and son-in-law, Jerry Wesloh.
Interment was at Oak Knoll Cemetery, Princeton. Arrangements were by Williams-Hanson-Kaun, Princeton.
Daniel Erkens
Funeral service for Daniel Joseph Erkens, 33, Isanti, took place Nov. 2 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. David N. Blume officiated.
Erkens died Oct. 29, 2005 in a car accident in Ramsey. He was born May 5, 1972 to Kenneth Bernard and Judith Theresa (Thomes) Erkens. He was a 1990 Anoka High School graduate and a carpenter.
He is survived by his parents, Ken and Judy; brothers, Michael (Bethany); sister, Angie (Chris) Bloss; nephews, Nathan and Brandon; grandmother, Gert Thomes; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert and Elizabeth Erkens, Joseph Thomes; and uncle, Jerry Thomes.
Pallbearers were Steve and Greg Roof, Jeremy Berg, Matt Hynes, Jason Davidson and Don Munson.
Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Loretta Johnson
Funeral service for Loretta J. Johnson, 81, Blaine, took place Oct. 28 at Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.
Johnson died Oct. 23, 2005. She was born June 2, 1924 in Polk County, Wis., to August and Bertha Brihn.
She is survived by her son, David; daughters, Beverly (John) Anderson and Resa Johnson; grandchildren, Chris, Aaron, Tabitha, Orion and Megan; great-grandchildren; brothers, Leo (Ardell) and Russel (Faye) Brihn; and sisters, Marion Anderson and Irene Larson.
Pallbearers were Robbin Larson, Paul Brihn, Chris and Aaron Anderson and Deacon and Jesse Overlie.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Garden, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home.
Richard Kalland
Funeral service for Richard 'Dick' Kalland, 60, Ham Lake, took place Oct. 26 at Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids. Rev. Dale Swan officiated.
Kalland died Oct. 23, 2005. He was born Jan. 27, 1945 in Minneapolis to Harold and Bernice Kalland. He was employed by Kingsley Coach Co., Zimmerman.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Von Eschen; son, Troy; granddaughter, Amber Kalland; partner, Cheryl Briggs and her children Becki Rappel and Bryan Briggs (Beth); mother, Bernice Kalland; sisters, Karayn Cunnington (Edward) and Patricia Udovich (Roger); brother, Michael (Louise); many nieces and nephews; and the mother of his children, Mary Kalland.
Pallbearers were Christian Cunnington, Jerry Belanger, Chad and Mark Kalland, Bryan Briggs and Kurt Von Eschen. Honorary pallbearers were Tony, Luke, Travis, Todd and Michael Jr. Kalland and Kristina Tomsen.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home.
Norma Lommen
Funeral service for Norma Lommen, 88, Coon Rapids, took place Nov. 1 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Connie Tiede officiated.
Lommen died Oct. 26, 2005 in Coon Rapids. She was born June 14, 1917 in Windborn, Alberta, Canada. She was a social worker for Anoka County for 15 years and a tax volunteer for AARP/IRS in Anoka County for many years.
She is survived by her children, Paul W. (Christine Emanuel) Lommen, June (Granville) Van Dusen and Sandra (Leo Smith); grandchildren, Jamie Faragallah, Andrea Lommen, Michelle Faragallah-Moore, Kate Lommen, Megan Van Dusen and Mitchell Van Dusen; four great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lommen.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Marion Nicol
Funeral service for Marion Nicol, 81, took place Nov. 3 at Church of St. Bridget, Minneapolis. Rev. Anthony Criscitelli officiated.
Nicol died Oct. 26, 2005. She was a longtime volunteer at North Memorial Medical Center, Camp Fire leader and softball and basketball coach.
She is survived by her children, Peg (Dale) Williams, Bob (Geri) Nicol, Rosanne Ross (Jerry Shumacher), Mary Ellen Sullivan, Steve Nicol (Sue Thurmer), Eileen Gacke, Pat Nicol and Cathy (Paul) Sherman; grandchildren, Jana, Cory, Mickey, Tom, Kate, Kelly, Leslie, Amy, Cindy, Niki, Ben, John, Jake, Reid, Angel, Joy, Carissa, Beth, Monica, Ashley and David; 31 great-grandchildren; sister, June Georgeson; brother, Lyle Garman; and sister-in-law, Bernadette Nicol.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Jay Nicol; great-grandson, Zach; and son-in-law, Ralph.
Interment was private at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
