Gordon Miller
Funeral service for Gordon S. Miller, 89, Anoka, took place Nov. 3 at Faith Lutheran Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. James Donald officiated.
Miller died Oct. 30, 2005. He was born Dec. 21, 1915 to Otto A. Miller and Louise C. Stamm and was a retired tool and die maker and machinist with Continental Machine.
He is survived by his sons, Bruce G. (Norma), Robert A. and Brian L.; daughter, Carol (Richard) Goffin; grandchildren, Hans, Karin (Bill), Britt (Adam), Karen (Steve), Carrie, Christopher (Tricia), Jaimie and Kimberly; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Kieda, Brendan, Svea, Kasey, Kendra, Matthew, Haley and Isabelle.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice; and grandson, Robert Jr.
Interment was at Mound Cemetery, Brooklyn Center. Arrangements were by Gearhart.
Frances Odegard
Prayer service for Frances R. Odegard, 79, Coon Rapids, took place Nov. 9 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. David Hennen officiated.
Odegard died Nov. 5, 2005. She was born Nov. 22, 1925 in Minneapolis.
She is survived by her daughters, Lynda Warmuth (Ray), Susan Horst (Dennis); grandchildren, Lisa, Michael, Jason, Adam, Jaime and Paul; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Brittney, Haley, Hunter and Jordan; and sister, Rose Kudak.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Daphene Reed
Funeral service for Daphene J. Reed, 91, Coon Rapids, formerly of Huntingdon, W.Va., took place Nov. 9 at Coon Rapids Baptist Church. Revs. Will Peterson and Robert Fuller officiated.
Reed died Nov. 6, 2005. She was born Aug. 10, 1914 in Beckley, W.Va.
She is survived by her daughter, Cecilia J. Self; granddaughters, Ronda (Lynn) Tebbenkamp, Candi (Brian) Schmechel, Lisa Self; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Shawn and Kaitlyn Meyer, Kyle and Lauren Schmechel; great-great-grandson, Ashton Meyer; and adopted daughter, Karen (Roger) Virchow.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Cecil C., Jordan and Glendon Reed; and granddaughter, Kimberly Meyer.
Pallbearers were Craig, Nicholas and Shawn Meyer, Lynn Tebbenkamp, Brian and Kyle Schmechel and Roger Virchow.
Interment was at Epiphany Cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
John Rivard
Funeral service for John T. Rivard, 94, Coon Rapids, took place Nov. 5 at Church of St. Anne, Somerset, Wis.
Rivard died Oct. 30, 2005. He was ordained a Catholic priest in 1940 and left the priesthood in 1970. He was retired Minnesota Historical Society district manager of Northern Minnesota historic sites, presented 1, 394 on historical figures and founded the Societe Canadienne Francais du Minnesota with chapters in the Twin Cities and St. Paul.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis H. and Alma; brothers, Louis, Richard and Raymond; and sister, Louise.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Eileen Shequin
Memorial service for Eileen C. Shequin (Larocque), 61, Coon Rapids, took place Nov. 3 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Shequin died Oct. 30, 2005. She was born Sept. 23, 1944 in Barre, Vt., to John and Velma Larocque. She was a telephone operator for more than 40 years.
She is survived by her husband, John; sons, Adam Shequin (Mandi), Jeffrey Dickinson (Janelle); daughter, Melissa Dickinson; grandchildren, Kelly, Chanda, Anika and Sophia; brothers, Royal Larocque, John (Jr.) Larocque, Roger Larocque, Gary Larocque; sisters, Jeannie Rippner, Joyce Irish, Kelly Morrison; their spouses; and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, John; mother, Velma; and brother, Leslie.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Mercedes Swen
Funeral service for Mercedes Carrine Swen, 94, Elk River, formerly of Ramsey, took place Nov. 9 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Ramsey. Rev. Rosanne Swanson officiated.
Swen died Nov. 4, 2005 at Guardian Angels Care Center, Ramsey. She was born Aug. 12, 1911 in Minneapolis to Sievart and Gina (Mattson) Bergerson.
She is survived by her daughter, Lee Etta (Bill) Golden; sons, Stanley (Vicki) and Larry (Kaureen); grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister, Beatrice Ellefson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; daughter, Glenna Mae Karls; and twin sister, Marjorie Swen.
Pallbearers were Curtiss Dehn, Craig Dahlberg, Forrest Karls and Kurt, Kyle and Shawn Swen.
Interment was at Orrock Cemetery, Orrock. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Alan Voss
Memorial service for Alan T. Voss, 58, Anoka, took place Nov. 2, 2005 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Voss died from a heart attack.
He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Compton (John); sons, Tom (Vicki), John (Janet) and Steve; grandchildren, Brittany, Savannah, Alanthomas, Olivia, Morgan, Michael, Marcus, Mitchell, Jeremy, Jason, Jacob, Tyler, Jack and Hannah; great-grandsons, Andrew; brothers, David and Shawn; and sisters, Diane and Roseanne.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlynne.

Carl Zeman
Funeral service for Carl Marvin Zeman, 37, Anoka, took place Nov. 4 at Anoka United Methodist Church. Rev. Leigh Brown officiated.
Zeman died unexpectedly from cardiac arrest Oct. 28, 2005 at Mercy Hospital. He was born March 2, 1968 at Mercy Hospital and was a truck driver for SuperValu in Hopkins.
He is survived by his wife, Shannon; son, Connor; mother, Coreen Zeman; sister, Ann Zeman; niece, Cara Winn; nephew, Jon Winn; and many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Zeman; and grandfathers, Stephen Zeman and Irwin Avery.
Pallbearers were Scott Katina, Bill Lanie, Jeff Tresca, Troy Vandecar, Ted Crute, Brad Henricks, Eric Anderson and Joe Prestidge.
Interment was at Trout Run Cemetery, Black River Falls, Wis. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Richard Bakke
Funeral service for Richard L. Bakke, 60, Coon Rapids, took place Nov. 15 at Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.
Bakke died Nov. 9, 2005 in Coon Rapids. He was born Sept. 7, 1945 in Warren to Willard and Pearl Bakke. He was a corrections officer with Anoka County.
He is survived by his wife, Clara; sons, Matthew (Katie) and Ryan; daughter, Amanda (Pete) Eames; granddaughter, Avery; and many other family members and friends.
Honorary pallbearers were Matthew and Ryan Bakke, Pete Eames and Richard Ernest.
Inurnment was private at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home.
Isabelle Elliason
Funeral service for Isabelle E. Elliason (Vetsch), 94, Anoka, took place Nov. 16 at the Church of St. Stephen, Anoka. Rev. Terry Beeson officiated.
Elliason died Nov. 12, 2005 at Anoka Care Center. She was born in Winsted to Joseph and Emma (Fisher) Kegler.
She is survived by her daughters, Pat (Jim) Rauenhorst, Durene Mattis, Punky Durand, Marilyn (Mike) Arndt; son, Larry (Shirley) Vetsch, son-in-law, Peter Johanson; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Edwin Vetsch and Everett Elliason; daughter, Gerry Johanson; son-in-law, Lynn Mattis; three grandsons; and parents, Joseph and Emma (Fisher) Kegler.
Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Evergreen Funeral Home.
Steven Georges
Funeral service for Steven Peter Georges, 52, Anoka, took place Nov. 12 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Tessa Moon Leiseth officiated.
Georges died Nov. 8, 2005 at Fairview University Medical Center, Minneapolis. He was born March 5, 1953 in Anoka to Peter Herman and Helen Elizabeth (Bettinger) Georges. He graduated from St. Francis High School in 1972 and was a parts fabricator at Hoffman Enclosures for 31 years.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela; daughters, Jessica and Sara; stepchildren, Jason and Jeremy Lance, Maria. Krystyna and Erica Hollen; grandchildren, Alicia, Delihla, Brody, Aubree and Sheldon; siblings, Elroy, Tony (Kathy), Jenny (Casey) Zimmerman, Gloria (Ray) Cekalla, Mary (Ed) Westphal and Al Georges; stepfather, Vince Bernard; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Larry (Perdita) Georges.
Pallbearers were Tony, Jessica and Sara Georges, Jason and Jeremy Lance and Phil Miemietz.
Interment was at Lakeview Cemetery, Nowthen. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
