Jacob Strouse
Funeral service for Jacob J. 'Jake' Strouse, 81, Anoka, took place July 6 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Tim Johnson officiated.
Strouse died June 27, 2006 at the VA Hospital, St. Cloud. He was born Dec. 27, 1924 in Little Falls to Lester C. and Rosia L. (Maricle) Strouse and grew up in Anoka. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II in Europe and after joining the Minnesota National Guard, he completed over 200 combat missions while serving in the Korean War. He retired from the National Guard in 1978 as a brigadier general and division chief of staff. He joined the Anoka Fire Department at the age of 22 and later served as chief of the Anoka-Champlin Fire Department from 1980 to 1987.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; son, Mike Strouse of East St. Paul; daughter, Diane (Steve) Kent of Anoka and Linda Strouse of Mesa, Ariz; grandchildren, Kristopher and David Kent, Gretchen and Anna Strouse; niece, jeanne Pospisil nephews, Jim and Mike Strouse, Larry Scott, the Duclos family, Leanne Wright; and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma; parents; brother, Clayton; and great-nephew, SSgt. Blake Pospisil.
Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Kathleen Ziegler
Funeral service for Kathleen D. Ziegler, 58, Madison Lake, took place June 29 at Marysburg Catholic Church. Rev. Syl Brown officiated.
Ziegler died June 24, 2006 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester. She was born Oct. 10, 1947 in Mora to Raymond and Martha (Seidl) Ziegler. She worked for ADC/Onan Telecommunications in St. Peter for many years.
She is survived by her brothers, Duane (Dorothy) Ziegler of Mankato and Sheldon of Anoka; nieces and nephews, Denise (Dennis) Peterson of Vernon Center, Dale (Cheryl) Ziegler of Sioux Falls, S.D., Darrell (Brenda) Ziegler of Welcome, Doug (Tami) of Vernon Center, David (Rhonda) Ziegler of Prior Lake, Pamela Kohler of Anoka and Angie (Brad) Ross of Andover; grandnieces and grandnephews, Devin, Drew, Darian, Mikayla, Alison, Jacob, Dustin, Brady, Sydney, Andrew, Jasmine, Dillon, Nicole and Brandon; and special family friends, Reggie (Bev) Muellerlie and their sons Jason, Bruce and Michael, all of Elysian.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ray; mother, Martha; and brother, Francis.,
Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Madison Lake. Arrangements were by Mankato Mortuary.
Donald Arseneau
Funeral service for Donald E. Arseneau, 76, Coon Rapids, took place July 5 at Church of St. Stephen, Anoka. Rev. Terry Beeson officiated.
Arseneau died June 30, 2006 at Mercy Hospital. He was born Sept. 7, 1929 in St. Cloud to Edmund and Pauline Arseneau.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Daniel (Carol), Geoffrey, James (Nancy) and Mary Gott (Tim); grandchildren, Adam, Melissa, Jason, Christopher, Matthew, Joshua, Stephanie and Danielle; great-grandson, James; brother, Gerry (Carole); and sisters, Carol Gaas (Ernie), Shirley Braasch, Janice Post (Willie) and Sharon Teller.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Pauline; and brother, Tom.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Chase Bichel
Funeral service for Chase Bichel, 22, Elk River, took place July 6 at Summit Avenue Assembly of God, St. Paul.
Bichel died July 2, 2006 at St. Cloud Hospital. He was born June 4, 1984 in Edina.
He is survived by his parents, Max and Sherri Bichel of Grand Marais and Ed and Joelle Bauerle of Big Lake; sisters, Mikinzie Aamodt, Mindy Bichel, Holly Bichel; brother-in-law, Chris Aamodt; nephew, Miles Gregory; brothers, Derek Raabe of St. Paul, Tom Bauerle of Franklin, Ohio, and Bob Bauerle of Indianapolis, Ind.; and many other friends.
Interment was at Big lake Cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Ruth Curtis
Funeral service for Ruth B. Curtis, 91, Coon Rapids, took place July 10 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Chue Vang officiated.
Curtis died July 4, 2006. She was born Oct. 3, 1914 in Chattanooga, Tenn.
She is survived by her son, Tom (Marilyn) Morris; daughter, Joanna Pointelin; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; six great-greatgrandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Rozanne Morris.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Morris; second husband, Ralph Curtis; son, Jim Morris; daughters, Kathleen Linardi and Virginia Reel; and granddaughter, Michelle.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Neil Hoosline
Funeral service for Neil R. Hoosline, 74, Anoka, took place July 5 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Bill Steinke officiated.
Hoosline died June 30, 2006 at Mercy Hospital. He was born May 19, 1932 in Osakis to Halsey and Bernice Hoosline and was an auto mechanic.
He is survived by his daughters, Linda Allen (Calven) of Kansas and Laura Deans (Tom) of Omaha, Neb.; sons, Rolland (Patty) of Anoka and Russell of Anoka; one brother; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Dorothy Hovind
Funeral service for Dorothy Isabele Evelyn Hovind, 95, Blaine, took place July 10 at United Methodist Church of Anoka. Rev. Bill Eaves officiated.
Hovind died July 6, 2006 at Mercy Hospital. She was born Sept. 8, 1910 in Anoka to Elmer and Mary Ann (Miller) Stearns.
She is survived by her sons, Bud (Mary Lou), Denny (Peggi), Norm (Pat) and Dale (Colleen); 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; and daughter, Norma Jean.
Pallbearers were H.D. 'Bud,' Dennis 'Denny,' Norm 'Butch,' Dale 'Skip,' Larry and Brandon Hovind.
Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Madeline Jenkins
Funeral service for Madeline Barbara Jenkins, 93, Anoka, took place July 8 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Paul Tracy officiated.
Jenkins died July 2, 2006. She was born Oct. 4, 1912 in Annandale to Edward Robert and Marie (Logeais) DeChaney and worked at Federal Cartridge for 37 years.
She is survived by her children, Joyce Ann (Jim) Hansen and William (Barbara) Jenkins; grandchildren, Mike (Linda) Faherty, John Faherty, David (Sherry) Jenkins, Lee Ann Smith and Christine Chapman; 11 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Dolly Wiik, Virginia (Alex) Wilson and Bernie DeChaney; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester; brother, Francis; sister, Beatrice; and parents.
Pallbearers were Michael, John, Timothy and Josh Faherty, Barbara Smith and David Jenkins.
Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Gerald Larson
Memorial service for Gerald 'Jerry' L. Larson, 72, Coon Rapids, took place July 7 at Abiding Saviour Lutheran Church, Mounds View. Revs. Lisa Richardson and Larry Gedde officiated.
Larson died July 1, 2006. He was born July 29, 1933 in Minneapolis.
He is survived by his wife, Gail; sons and daughters-in-law, Lee (Paula), Mark (Katie); grandchildren, Anders, Dane, Max, Hans and Aiden; and brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Connie).
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Warren Marmorine
Memorial service for Warren Marmorine, 83, Columbia Heights, formerly of Coon Rapids and Spring Lake Park, took place July 7 at Coon Rapids Evangelical Free Church. Rev. Dean Johnson officiated.
Marmorine died July 1, 2006 in Fridley. He was born April 26, 1923 in Gonvick. He was a World War II B-17 pilot and a retired accountant.
He is survived by his wife, Wyvonne 'Bonnie;' daughter, Shannon (Brad) Heth, Shelley (Dean) Spencer; son, Scott (C.J.); grandchildren, Heather (Greg) Korynta, Will Marmorine and Sabrina Richards; great-grandchildren, Austin, Kasey, Aryana, Gabriel, Tyler and Leah; 12 stepchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Anne; brothers, Charles and Marvin; and sisters, Ethel and Cleo.
Interment was private in Bagley. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Marlin McDougall
Funeral service for Marlin Judson McDougall, 84, Coon Rapids, took place July 11 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
McDougall died July 7, 2006. He was born Oct. 16, 1921 in Struble, Iowa, to Judson Noble and Bertha (DeRaad) McDougall and as a retired real estate agent.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, Bob (Ann) McDougall; three-grandchildren; four-great grandchildren; two brothers; and one sister.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
