Funeral service for Shawn M. Miller, 30, East Bethel, took place July 9 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Bethel. Rev. Steve Melander officiated.

Miller died July 4, 2006 at Mercy Hospital. He was born Jan. 14, 1976 in Fridley.

He is survived by his parents, Donna and Vyron.

Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Manfred Poscher

Funeral service for Manfred A. Poscher, 65, Coon Rapids, took place July 7 at Church of the Epiphany Coon Rapids. Rev. Hennen officiated.

Poscher died July 1, 2006 at Mercy Hospital. He was born June 27, 1941 in Kolon, Germany, to Wilhelm and Henrietta Poscher.

He is survived by his wife, Tilsa; children, Annette Franz (Sarah), Carlos and Tiffany; grandchildren, Derek, Dakotah, Maggie, Manny and Devonta; and brothers, Emil (Molly) and Hans.

Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Adrian Pribyl

Funeral service for Adrian F. Pribyl, 82, Coon Rapids, took place July 11 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids.

Pribyl died July 8, 2006. He was born Jan. 27, 1924 in Lakefield. He served in the 17th Airborne Division.

He is survived by his son, Rick (Jody); daughters, Linda (Mike) Levandoski, Susan (Don) Miller; grandchildren, Andrea, Sara, Nic, Michael, Dustin and Jason; brothers, Vernon (Myra), Frank (Marian); sisters-in-law, Benetia Peterson, Florence (Dodgie) Pribyl; special friend, Carol Eggert; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Roalene; grandson, Coltin; sisters, Dolores and Gloria; and brother, Bernard.

Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Rev. David Spencer

Rev. E. David Spencer, 74, Sun Lakes, Ariz., formerly of Anoka, died June 22, 2006 in Chandler, Ariz. He was born June 23, 1931 in Anoka, the Guy and Idella Spencer.

He was a pastor of the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) and was born and raised in Anoka. He established five new congregations as a pastor/developer in New Jersey, California, Michigan, Oregon and Alaska.

He is survived by his wife, Lois of Sun Lakes; brother, John of Willmar; sons, David and Leonard of Alpena, Mich., Karl of Boise, Idaho, and Todd of Clinton Township, Mich.; and 11 grandchildren.

Nicholas Thieschafer

Memorial service for Nicholas Joseph Thieschafer, 66, Mounds View, took place July 6 at Camp Ripley Chapel, Little Falls.

Thieschafer died July 1, 2006 in Fridley. He was born in Melrose March 27, 1940 to Norbert and Dorothy Thieschafer. He was Nicholas was a member of Douglas County Sheriff's Posse and Horse Unit and Knight of Columbus Council No. 4718.

He is survived by his wife, Marion; children, Pat (Robert) Brackenbury, Dan (Therese) Thieschafer, Tom Thieschafer and Barb (Guy) Cooper; and grandchildren, Cassie, Joel, Jacinta, Jackie, Shawna and Alysa.

He was preceded in death by parents Norbert and Dorothy; and brother Richard.

Interment was at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls. Arrangements were with Kozlak-Radulovich Blaine Chapel.

Gloria VanDanacker

Memorial service for Gloria VanDanacker (Koosman/Bastian), 68, Cambridge, will take place at 11 a.m. today (Friday, July 14) at Salem Lutheran Church. Dalbo. Rev. Bill Pearson will officiate.

VanDanacker died July 4, 2006 at Grandview Christian Home, Cambridge. She was born April 3, 1938 in Holloway to Bertha (Luebke) and Leo Koosman. She had a 26-year career at Cornelius Co. in Anoka, then worked at First Home Systems in Blaine and managed a liquor store for Star Liquors in Lexington.

She is survived by her husband, Al of Cambridge; mother, Birdie and step-father Harvey Morgan of Cambridge; brother, Eldor (Al) Koosman of Garrison; sons, Bradley (Wendy) Bastian of Isanti and their children Nicky (James) Mann, Conner of International Falls, Tyler and Stephanie Bastian and Stewart (Janelle) Bastian of Cambridge and their daughters Annika and Natalie; daughter, Julie (Paul) Stone of Cedar and children Toshina Koosman and John Armstrong; stepdaughters, Pam (Tim) Resemius of Isanti and children Shannon (David) Barrett of Mardela Springs, Md., and Rebekah (Jim) Roemer of New Brighton, Deborah (John) Flaaten of Milaca and sons Jamon Smith and Joey Hanson and Denise Erickson of Cambridge and her sons Jens and Andy; stepson, Douglas (Leslie) Harnden of Big Fork and daughter Stacey and son Erik; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leo Koosman; infant brother, Lawrence; infant sister, Lila May; first husband, Eldred Bastian; and sister-in-law Edith Ales.

Arrangements are by Strike Funeral Home-Cambridge Chapel.

Marilyn Burman

Funeral service for Marilyn Sarah Burman, 77, Cedar, took place July 17 at Cedar United Methodist Church. Rev. Grant Tanner officiated.

Burman died July 12, 2006. She was born Oct. 15, 1928 in Cedar to Earl Andrew and Mildred Evelyn (Gardner) Main. She was a retired security guard at Federal Cartridge and FMC.

She is survived by her children, Susan (John) Dunlop, Robert (Joan) Burman Jr. and Merri Burman; grandchildren, Matthew Dunlop, Heather Dunlop, Natalie (Erick) Jacobson-Dunlop, Sonia Burman, Robert Burman III, Jacob (Elizabeth) Burman, Michael Smith and Ashley Smith; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Dodie (Ed) Lindgren, Beverly (Dick) Behrendt; and brothers, Gerald (Mona) Main, Arlan Main and Lawrence Main.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; and brother, David Main.

Pallbearers were Sonia, Robert III and Jacob Burman, Matthew and Heather Dunlop and Michael Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Natalie Jacobson-Dunlop and Ashley Smith.

Interment was at Cedar Cemetery, Oak Grove. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Dr. David Holth

Funeral service for Dr. David M. Holth, 56, Coon Rapids, took place July 13 at Church of the Epiphany, Coon Rapids. Revs. Dennis Zehren and Michael Kennedy officiated.

Holth died July 10, 2006. He was born Jan. 25, 1950 in Northwood, N.D. He was a family practice physician for 27 years, most recently at the Blaine Medical Center.

He is survived by his wife, Janice; daughter, Elizabeth; sons, Michael (Janel), Daniel; mother, Evelyn Holth; brother, Byron (Sandra); and sister, Barbara Holth.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford.

Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Karen Leyh

Funeral service for Karen Joan Leyh, 63, Oak Grove, will take place Saturday, Aug. 5, 11 a.m., at Cross of Hope Lutheran Church. Rev. Fredrick Hanson will officiate.

Leyh died July 10, 2006 at Mercy Hospital. She was born Dec. 8, 1942 in Seattle, Wash., to Karl and Mabel (Ostrom) Dahlstrom.

She is survived by her husband, Wilbert; sons, Tim Tapper, Manny Sanisidro, Michael Sanisidro, Steven Wargo; stepdaughter, Debbie Nichols; grandchildren, Ryan Tapper, Justin Tapper and Maryann Sanisidro; sister, Judith Moren; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Mabel Dahlstrom.

Interment will be at Garden of Hope Cemetery, Ramsey. Arrangements are by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Bertha Morgan

Funeral service for Bertha May Morgan, 87, Anoka, took place July 17 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church. Rev. Roy Karner officiated.

Morgan died July 12, 2006 at Cambridge Health Care Center. She was born March 7, 1919 in Rockham, S.D., to John and Sophia (Weidemann) Luebke and was retired from Cornelius in Anoka.

She is survived by her husband, Harvey; son, Al Koosman; stepsons, Robert (Marjorie) Morgan and Dennis (Joan) Morgan; stepdaughters, Deloris Goetzke and Judy (Dave) Saari; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.,

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Gloria VanDanacker; infant brother and sister, Lawrence and Lila; sisters, Bernice and Karoline; brother, John; and half-brother, Jack.

Pallbearers were Brad and Stewart Bastian, Keith and Kenny Koosman, Tim Arnold and Greg Morgan.

Interment was at Sunset Memorial Park, Minneapolis., Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Alice Poferl

Funeral service for Alice J. Poferl, 90, Anoka, took place July 19 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Tim Johnson officiated.

Poferl died July 14, 2006 at Anoka Care Center. She was born in Ham Lake Jan. 20, 1916 to Otto P. and Mary M. (Sprosty) Buchholz and was retired from Federal Cartridge.

She is survived by nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and great-great nieces and great-great nephews.

She is survived by her husband, Edward; parents, Otto and Mary Buchholz; four brothers; and two sisters.

Pallbearers were Lynn Dahlgren, Laurie Schintgen, Tony and Adam Flint and Rob and Rick Lucken.

Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
