Kenneth Peterson
Memorial service for Kenneth M. Peterson, 85, New Brighton, took place Aug. 10 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Peterson died Aug. 4, 2006. He was a World War II veteran.
He is survived by his children, Richard (Barbara), Diane (Alan) Lawrence, David (Carol) and Gloria (Jerrt) Matthes; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Essie.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Maribeth Wickett
Maribeth Wickett (Schwen), 78, Decorah, Iowa, formerly of Anoka, died Aug. 6, 2006. She was born June 7, 1928 in Canton. She was an accomplished vocalist and pianist.
She is survived by her son, Scott (Janelle Stahlberg-Schwen ) of San Mateo, Calif.; granddaughter, Krista Schwen of San Diego, Calif.; grandson, Jordy Schwen of Coon Rapids; former spouse Russ Schwen of Brainerd; and former daughter-in-law, Becky Schwen of Coon Rapids; sisters, Violet Vander Linden of Pella, Iowa, Gloria Whitney of Decorah, Iowa; brothers, Frank (Arlie) Wickett of Anoka, Larimore Wickett (Carlos Gutierrez) of Silver City, N.M., Ramon (Lorraine) Wickett of Decorah; and 12 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Arrangements were made by Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah.
Maria White
Memorial service for Maria White, 72, Coon Rapids, took place Aug. 9 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
White died Aug. 6, 2006. She was born June 11, 1934 in Straubing, Germany.
She is survived by her husband, Luther White; daughters Inge, Bonnie Koerner; sons, Randy Lott and wife Becky, Michael Lott and wife Heather; and 10 grandchildren.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Dean Abel
Funeral service for Dean Ray Abel, 81, Anoka, formerly of Fridley, took place Sept. 2 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel, Anoka.
Abel died Aug. 29, 2006 at Twin Rivers Care Center, Anoka. He was born May 29, 1925 in Minneapolis to Roy Kenneth and Reo Minerva (Linsley) Abel and was a retired letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.
He is survived by his children, Ross (Donna), Lori (Doug) Wallin; and grandchildren, Lisa and Brenda Abel, Diana, Krista and Brian Wallin.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine.
Pallbearers were Ross, Lisa and Brenda Abel and Doug, Krista and Brian Wallin.
Interment was at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Crystal. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Timothy Dahlstrom
Funeral service for Timothy Lee Dahlstrom, 38, Isle, formerly of Anoka, took place Sept. 1 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Bruce Clapp officiated.
Dahlstrom died Aug. 29, 2006 at Mercy Hospital. He was born Aug. 27, 1958 in St. Paul to Dennis Dean and Linda Lee (Kammerer) Dahlstrom. He was a machine operator.
He is survived by his wife, Bern; children, Elyse and Keith; parents. Denny and Linda Dahlstrom; brother, Todd (Dawn) Dahlstrom; grandmother, Lorraine Schleifer; and five nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Todd Dahlstrom, Marty Muellners, Larry Sumner, Brent Busche, Ryan Merrill and Scott Heureng.
Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Sandra Ferrian
Memorial service for Sandra L. Ferrian, 53, Coon Rapids, took place Aug. 26 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Ferrian died Aug. 18, 2006. She was born Oct. 9, 1952 and was employed at Abelconn.
She is survived by Michael Ferrian Sr.; son, Michael Jr. (Robin); granddaughter, Hailey; step-granddaughters, Jessica and Amanda; brother, Scott McCulloch (Claudia); and niece, Jacquie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Norma McCulloch.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Robert Freundl
Memorial service for Robert P. 'Hunter Bob' Freundl, 70, Champlin, took place Aug. 28 at Anoka Covenant Church.
Freundl died Aug. 23, 2006 in Robbinsdale. He was born March 17, 1936 in Mankato.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; daughters, Rebecca (Dann) Gould and Tammy (Bob) Adamski; granddaughters, Rachel and Sarah Gould; sister, Elizabeth Gibson; brothers, Jack, Keith and Ron; sisters-in-law, Ann, Cherri and Lola; several nieces and nephews; and others relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Phillip Freundl; and brothers, Earl and Leon.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
James Jenkins
Funeral service for James Cosby Jenkins Jr., 71, Blaine, took place Aug. 21 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Jenkins died Aug. 16, 2006. He was born Dec. 25, 1934 in Dawson Springs, Ky. He served 24 years in the U.S. Army air defense artillery and was a decorated veteran serving in the Korean and Vietnam wars.
He is survived by family and friends.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Mitchell Lilja
Funeral service for Mitchell D. Lilja, 38, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., formerly of Coon Rapids, will take place today (Friday, Sept. 8), 11 a.m., at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Anoka.
Lilja died Aug. 23, 2006 in Fort Lauderdale. He was born Feb. 19, 1968 in Minneapolis and was a 1986 graduate of Coon Rapids High School.
He is survived by his parents, Ardie and Duane Lilja of Coon Rapids; special friend, John Dahlquist of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; brothers and sisters, Mark Lilja and Denise Landrus of Coon Rapids, Matt (Sharon) Lilja of Blaine, and Deanna Nybeck of Andover; nieces and nephews, Nicole and Nathan Landrus, Candice and Brittany Lilja, Jacob, Derek, Ashley and Amanda Lilja, Tyler and Morgan Nybeck; aunt, Joann Cullegan; uncle and aunt, Lyman and Edna Swenson; and many cousins.
Interment will be private. Arrangements are by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Jason Mohs
Funeral service for Jason E. Mohs, 32, Blaine, took place Aug. 26 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids.
Mohs died Aug. 22, 2006. He was born Feb. 10, 1974.
He is survived by his parents, Dave and Doreen; brother, Jeffrey; nephews, Dillon, Deon and Chase; grandparents, Clara Olsen and George Jepson; and many other family and friends.
Interment was at Epiphany Cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Terrance O'Neill
Funeral service for Terrance Kane O'Neill, 74, Anoka, will take place Saturday, Sept. 16, 10 a.m., at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Terry Beeson will officiate.
O'Neill died Aug. 28, 2006 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Minneapolis. He was born July 31, 1932 in Hibbing to Russell Kane and Eileen (Heffron) O'Neill. He served in the Korean War and was a roofer.
He is survived by his wife, Joni; children, Shawn, Russ and Michael, all of Nashwauk, Tim (LeAnne) O'Neill of Henderson, Nev., Jeanie O'Neill of Eveleth, MariBeth Rosett of Andover; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Kane; and parents Russell and Eileen O'Neill.
Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing. Arrangements are by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Elizabeth Sainio
Funeral service for Elizabeth Marie Sainio, 21, Brooklyn Park, took place Sept. 1 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. David Hennen officiated.
Sainio died Aug. 27, 2006, in Isanti County. She was born July 31, 1985 in Minneapolis to David Johnson and Julie M. Sainio. She was a cosmetologist.
She is survived by her fiance, Andrew Dreier; mother, Julie M. Sainio (Tim Contreras); father, David Johnson (Michele); brothers, Andy and Alex Johnson; grandparents, Judith Sainio (Jim Clark) and Dan and Carol Johnson; fiance's parents, Donald and Cheryl Dreier; fiance's sister, Melissa (Roger) James; aunts and uncles, Jim Sainio (Sue Krieger), Tony (Barb) Sainio, Debbie (Todd) Anderson, Shelly (Terry) Meyer; godparents, Cindy (Brian) Besch, Lisa Sainio, Erick (Cindy) Johnson; Brenda (Terry) McCready; cousins, Jenny, Nicole, Jamie, Chelsy, Dan, Emily, Kailey, Alex, Danielle, Laura, Tommy, Crystel; great aunts and uncles; and many other family and friends.
