Robert Sneen
Memorial service for Robert C. Sneen, 73, Anoka, formerly of Eau Claire, Wis., and Brooklyn Center, took place Aug. 31 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Sneen died Aug. 26, 2006 at Twin Rivers Care Center, Anoka. He was born Sept. 30, 1932.
He is survived by his wife, Kay; sons, Mark (April) and Michael; daughter, Rojean (Jim) Lucking; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; sisters, Donna Engan and Betty (Frank) Daniels; and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Blanche Sneen; and sister, Shirley Sneen.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Frank Vashaw
Memorial service for Frank W. Vashaw, 85, Coon Rapids, took place Sept. 6 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids.
Vashaw died Aug. 28, 2006. He was born Dec. 16, 1920. He was a member of the Coon Rapids VFW and American Legion and NARFE.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; son, Charles (Eva); grandsons, Zachary and Ryan; brothers, William and Wally Sanford; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Alice; sister, Merle; and brothers, Ralph and Jack.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Kenneth Wuest
Funeral service for Kenneth L. Wuest, 74, Eagle Point, Ore., formerly of Anoka, took place Sept. 5 at Eagle Point.
Wuest died Aug. 30, 2006. He was born Nov. 3, 1931 to Ted and Marie Wuest and graduated with the Anoka High School class of 1949. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955, then graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a degree in civil engineering. He and his wife, Carol, were award winning quilters.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; sons, Thaddeus and Mark Wuest; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Marie; and brother, Donald Wuest.
Interment was at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Larry Ahlbaum
Funeral service for Larry Allan Ahlbaum, 58, Anoka, took place Sept. 13 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. David Weigel.
Ahlbaum died Sept. 8, 2006 at Mercy Hospital. He was born Nov. 14, 1947 in Stillwater to Lawrence Wilbur and Doreen Ruby (Wright) Ahlbaum. He was a master electrician.
He is survived by his parents, Lawrence and Doreen Ahlbaum; sister, Donna Shorten; and many other relatives and friends.
Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Stella Bydlon
Funeral service for Stella M. Bydlon, 87, Coon Rapids, took place Sept. 9 at Church of St. Stephen, Anoka. Rev. Terry Beeson officiated.
Bydlon died Sept. 5, 2006. She was born Sept. 11, 1918 in Minneapolis.
She is survived by her husband, Alphonse; son, Richard (Nancy); grandchildren, Laura (Charles) Pope and Sarah; three great-grandchildren; sister, Ann Dancik; brother, Edward Richert; and many other relatives and friends.
Interment was at Sunset Cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Philip Crowe
Memorial service for Philip Joseph Crowe, 85, Coon Rapids, took place Sept. 6 at Faith Lutheran Church, Coon Rapids.
Crowe died Sept. 1, 2006. He was born Sept. 11, 1920 in Otway, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife, Verona; daughters, Brenda (Paul) Evans of Andover and Marcia Jorgenson of Anoka; grandchildren, Jennifer (Alan) Cornett, Michael Evans, Carolyn Evans, Gretchen Jorgenson and Andrew Jorgenson; sister, Kathryn Walsh of Annapolis, Md.; and brother, George Crowe of Hillsboro, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sinon and Anna Crowe; brother, Austin; and son-in-law, Richard Jorgenson.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Fern DeLong
Funeral service for Fern Sigrid DeLong, 90, Andover, formerly of Anoka, took place Sept. 8 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Norman R. Berg officiated.
DeLong died Sept. 5, 2006 at Farmstead Assisted Living, Andover. She was born Feb. 9, 1916 in St. Paul to Franz Gunnar and Sigrid Elizabeth (Karlsson) Peterson. She was a longtime member of Mercy Hospital, PEO and OES.
She is survived by her husband, Scott H. DeLong Jr.; daughter, Barbara Scottston (Rande Gustafson); grandchildren, Jill and Jeff; stepchildren, Todd, Scott and Jacqueline; sister-in-law, Helen Peterson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clarence and Wallace; and infant son.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Bertha Droppo
Funeral service for Bertha Droppo, 90, formerly of Crown, took place Sept. 12 at Zion Lutheran Church, Crown. Rev. Gary Rehborg officiated.
Droppo died Sept. 8, 2006 at the Guardian Angels Care Center, Elk River. She was born Nov. 9, 1915 in Grand Forks, N.D., to Edward and Bertha (Fosse) Berg.
She is survived by her son Earl Droppo of Mesa, Ariz., and his children Matt (Linda) Droppo, Kathy (Bryan) Strickland, Emily (Curt) Dalbec; daughter Betty Ekeberg of Plymouth and her children Steve (Kim) Ekeberg, Andrea (James) Pospyhalla, Barbara and husband Joe Poole of Longville and their children, Bob (Pam) Poole, Debby Souells, Steve (Susan) Poole, Sandy (Kinnon) Marshall, 11 great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest Droppo; brother, Edward Berg; and daughter-in-law Sally Droppo.
Interment was at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.Arrangements were by the Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home in Cambridge.
John Fiedler
Funeral service for John F. Fiedler, 77, Coon Rapids, took place Sept. 9 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. John Bucca officiated.
Fielder died Sept. 6, 2006. He was born Feb. 18, 1929 in Minneapolis. He was a 60-year member of Local No. 596.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; eight children; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four brothers; two sisters; and many friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Don and Billy; and sister, Cassie.
Interment was at Mound Cemetery, Brooklyn Center. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Thomas Hoey
Funeral service for Thomas E. Hoey, 59, Blaine, took place Sept. 14 at Church of St. Henry, LeSueur.
Hoey died Sept. 9, 2006. He was born May 25, 1947.
He is survived by his son, Mike (Sarah); grandchildren, Nick, Austin, Lauryn, Ryan; parents., Ralph and Kathryn; sisters and brothers, Jan LeMieux, Rick (Chrit), Leanne (Bill) Tyrrell, Kathy (Dave) Jungquist; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis.
Interment was at St. Henry's Catholic Cemetery.

Dale Horner
Funeral service for Dale Talbert Horner, 57, Andover, took place Sept. 14 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Horner died Sept. 10, 2006 at Mercy Hospital. He was born June 24, 1949 in Minneapolis to Morgan Lorenzo and Helen Louise (Compton) Horner. He was a self-employed truck driver.
He is survived by his parents, Helen and Morgan Horner; sister, Linda Schultz; nephews, Donnie and Michael Schultz; and other relatives and friends.
Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Nell Keifer
Funeral service for Nell Louise Keifer (Heilman), 86, Coon Rapids, took place Aug. 23, 2006 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
She is survived by her children, Mike (Peg) Heilman, Ricky Heilman, Marty (Cindy) Heilman, Rob (Mary) Heilman, Pam (Fred) Cary), Sandy (Chris) Weston; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and brother, Junior Davis.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Louis Heilman and Leonard Keifer.
