Randy Anderson
Funeral service for Randy Carl Anderson, 50, Coon Rapids, took place Sept. 16 at Nowthen Alliance Church. Rev. Maurice Russell officiated.
Anderson died Sept. 12, 2006 at Mercy Hospital. He was born Sept. 15, 1955 in Princeton to Arvid Carl and Fern Edith (Anderson) Anderson.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Arlin (Pat) Anderson, Larry (Joyce) Anderson, Cheryl (Randy) Gerdin and Debbie (John) Wiseman; sister-in-law, Judy Anderson; many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins; special friends, Deanna and Donna; and many friends at the Woody Lane Group Home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arvid and Fern Anderson; and brother, Dale Anderson.
Pallbearers were Nels, Bjorn, Jonathan, Kia, Carl, John and Brandon Anderson and Bradley, Daniel and Tyler Gerdin.
Interment was at Lakeview Cemetery, Nowthen. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Francis Barker
Funeral service for Francis Dean Barker, 86, Spring Lake Park, took place Sept. 18 at Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids. Rev. Roger Stensaas officiated.
Barker died Sept. 13, 2006 in Robbinsdale. He was born Jan. 7, 1920 in Aurora, Neb., to William and Edith Barker and was a retired engineer. He was a World War II veteran, the first president of the Spring Lake Park Lions Club, a Toastmasters club member and a life member of the VFW, American Legion and IEEE.
He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca (Scott) Ferch; grandchildren, Benjamin, Jeremiah (Jennifer) Anderson, Jocelyn (Jason) Graff, Mary and Genevieve (Greg) Santini; great-grandchildren, Colton, Ella, Jacob, Jake, Jamison, Jordan, Justen, Miah, Michael and Zachary; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bruce; and brothers, Norval and Chester.
Pallbearers were Jeremiah Anderson, Scott Ferch, Thomas, Michael and William Barker and Jason Graff.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.
Marilyn Chambs
Memorial service for Marilyn M. Chambs, 86, Ham Lake, took place Sept. 16, 2006 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
She is survived by her husband, Vincent; son, Steven (Judy); daughter, Susan Swan; grandsons, Chris and Nick Chambs, Mike, Todd, Paul and Ryan Swan; brother, Charles Peterson; sister, Beverly Schuder; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, James.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Joan Christiansen
Funeral service for Joan Marie Christiansen, 70, Coon Rapids, took place Sept. 15 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel, Anoka. Rev. J.R. Baumgarn officiated.
Christiansen died Sept. 12, 2006 at Camilia Rose Convalescent Center, Coon Rapids. She was born Sept. 9, 1936 in East Cleveland, Ohio, to Stephen John and Dorothy (Reposky) Hegedus. She was an adjustor at Federal Cartridge, Anoka.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Greg) Edwards; granddaughter, Christina Edwards and fiance Mike Anderson; brothers, Burl (Barb) Zorn, James (Yvonne) Zorn, Steven (Vicki) Hegedus, Don (Polly) Hegedus; sister-in-law, Margaret (Ronald) Gjertvig; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Neil; and son, James.
Pallbearers were Michael, David, Jeff, Stephen, Don and Tim Hegedus and Melvin Gjertvig.
Interment was at West Oak Grove Cemetery, Oak Grove. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
William Frantz
Private funeral service for William Michael Frantz Jr., 75, St. Francis, will take place at a later date.
Frantz died Sept. 14, 2006 at Lynwood Health Care Center, Fridley. He was born Feb. 23, 1931 in Grow Township, Anoka County, to William Michael and Helen Jeanette (Swart) Frantz. He was a retired heavy equipment operator with the Anoka County Highway Department.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; son, Michael (Bonnie) of Ramsey; granddaughter, Cheyenne; brothers, John (Wilma) of Crystal, Jerry (Sally) of Phoenix, Ariz., Merle of Anoka; sisters, Rosemary (Peter) Anderson of Minneapolis; and other relatives and friends.
Interment was at West Oak Grove Cemetery, Oak Grove. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Donald Hagen
Memorial service for Donald E. Hagen, 90, Coon Rapids, took place Sept. 15 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Hagen died Sept. 10, 2006. He was born May 11, 1916.
He is survived by his daughter, Judy (Emerson) Lillibridge; son, Don (Leona) Hagen; sister, Bessie (Rudy) Billberg; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne; and brother, Earle Hagen.
Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Loren LeBlanc
Funeral service for Loren D. LeBlanc, 77, Coon Rapids, took place Sept. 9 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Brooklyn Center.
LeBlanc died Sept. 6, 2006. He was born July 22, 1929. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and retired from the Minneapolis Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Ardelle; son, Gregory (Susan); grandsons, Tony, David and Tim; sister, Jeanette LeBlanc; brothers, Ralph, Darrel, Larry, Vernon and Stephen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and two brothers.
Interment was private at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Richard Mevissen
Funeral service for Richard Leroy Mevissen, 66, Nowthen, took place Sept. 20 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Oak Grove.
Mevissen died Sept. 15, 2006. He was born April 14, 1940.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Mary; daughter, Janet Marie (Todd Alan) Carroll; son, Dennis Richard (Jessica Rose); grandchildren, Kelsey Christine and Grayson Richard Carroll, Grant Dennis Mevissen; brothers, Melvin (Sue), Merle (Eileen); sisters, Jean Bettinger, Mabel Ottenstroer, Vonnie (Mike) Larsen, Eileen (Jerry) Dahlheimer, Arleen (Jim) Arendt and Beatrice Sjolund.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Stella and Edward Mevissen; brothers, Lawrence, Donald Harold, Robert; and sister, Vivian Gregerson.
Interment was private at Calvary Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Margaret Riley
Funeral service for Margaret 'Peggy' Riley, 81, took place Sept. 16 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, International Falls.
Riley died Sept. 11, 2006. She was born in 1925 in International Falls.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ann (Ken) Helgeson of Clearwater; son, Timothy (Angela) of St. Francis; and grandchildren, Kristian, Taylor and Jesse.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; parents, Bob and Gladys (Drummond) Gordon; and sister, Sr. Kathleen Ann Gordon.
Interment is at Forest Hill Cemetery, Arrangements are by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Marvin Benson
Funeral service for Marvin Elroy Benson, 78, Blaine, took place Sept. 28 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church. Rev. Dennis Heiden officiated.
Benson died Sept. 24, 2006 at Mercy Hospital. He was born Oct. 28, 1927 in St. Francis to Alex Axel and Murnel (Carlson) Benson and was a lifelong resident of Anoka County. He was a truck driver and carpenter, longtime member of the Coon Rapids Lions Club and past district governor of Lions District 5M7.
He is survived by his wife Lois (Aufderhar); children, Gregory, Douglas (Linnea), Bradley (Cindy) LaVonne (John) Klucking; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Sherman (Louise); uncles, Clifford (Betty) Carlson, William (Diane) Carlson; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Marjace.
Pallbearers were Alex, Marjace, Jacob, Bruce and Glen Benson and Kevin Aufderhar.
Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
June Burgoyne
Funeral service for June Jean Burgoyne, 80, Anoka, will take place Saturday, Oct. 14, 10:30 a.m., at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel, Anoka. Rev. Joel Solliday will officiate.
Burgoyne died Sept. 21, 2006 at Mercy Hospital. She was born June 14, 1926 in Anoka to Eugene A. and Vina M. (Durant) Smith. She was a realtor.
She is survived by her son, Cresci (Joy) West of Anoka; and grandson, Daniel Smith of Pennsylvania.
Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
