Lauretta Cox
Funeral service for Lauretta A. 'Laurie' Cox, 84, Columbia Heights, took place Sept. 25 at Morningside Memorial Gardens Chapel, Coon Rapids. Dr. Peter Lau officiated.
Cox died Sept. 17, 2006 in Fridley. She was born April 27, 1922 in Clear Lake to Joseph and Emma Lipa.
She is survived by her husband, LeRoy L. Cox; sister, Marjorie; son, Dwight Cox and his wife Deanna; daughter, Diane Torrance and husband John; grandchildren, Daron (Amy) Cox, Jennifer Cox, Shawn (Maia) Torrance, Amy (Matthew) Coppersmith (nee Torrance) and Naomi (Accolon) Torrance; great-grandchildren, Kendall Coppersmith and Jonathan Cox; and brothers and sisters-in-law and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and E. Margaret (nee Larson) Lipa; brother, Chet Lipa; and sisters, Marie Christina Lipa Johnson Olson and Emma M. 'Annabell' Lipa.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.
Roxanne Egan
Funeral service for Roxanne Marie Egan, 43, Coon Rapids, took place Sept. 25 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Egan died Sept. 19, 2006. She was born Nov. 5, 1962 and was an equipment operator. She was a member of the Coon Rapids VFW Post.
She is survived by her sons, Marcell Graham and Vincent Paul Jr.; daughter, Alexis Graham; mother, Patricia Dunne; father, William Egan Sr.; and many other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and William Egan Jr.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
George Holzinger
Funeral service for George R. Holzinger, 69, Elk River, took place Sept. 20 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Elk River. Rev. Joseph Korf officiated.
Holzinger died Sept. 16, 2006 in Coon Rapids. He was born June 19, 1937 in Minneapolis to Frank and Theresa Holzinger and was a service technician.
He is survived by his wife, Angie; daughters, . Leslie Kealey, Holly (Kevin) Shepard, Lisa (Scott) Thomas and Shelly (Loren) Murney; brother, Richard (Cora) Holzinger; eight grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Ed.
Pallbearers were Matthew Kealey, Dylan and Kevin Shepard, Chris Metzinger, Scott Thomas and Loren Murney.
Interment was at Epiphany Cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.
Joan Krych
Funeral service for Joan Margaret Krych, 69, Champlin, took place Sept. 26 at St. Gerard Catholic Church. Rev. Pat Foley officiated.
Krych died Sept. 21, 2006 at the Berkshire Residence, Osseo. She was born Jan. 7, 1937 in Minneapolis to Leland Joseph and Elizada Marguerite (Govette) Doherty. She was a retired custodian at the convention center.
She is survived by her children, Kathrine (Michael) Odens, Cynthia Lee, Steven Krych, Timothy Lee, Cheryl Lee, Kevin (Laura) Krych and Thomas Lee; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Gerald (Allison) Doherty and Daniel (Judith) Doherty; sisters, Camilla Spiess and Jean (Elroy) Wildhaber; and nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Christopher and Nicholas Odens, Gregory Begin, Theodore Spiess, Rick Bodem and Kenneth Krych, Jr.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Marjorie Lange
Funeral service for Marjorie Mae Lange, 67, Coon Rapids, took place Sept. 18 at Church of the Resurrection, Brooklyn Park.
Lange died Sept. 11, 2006. She was born Sept. 25, 1938 in Forman, N.D.
She is survived by her husband, Carl; children, Cory Lange, Darcy Forker (John), Jody Eidsvoog (Jeffrey), Mardy Lange (Jamie), Angela Checco de Souza (Alexandre) and Holly Lange; grandchildren, Hannah, Rachel, Leah, Rebekah, Tyler, Tanner, Sarah, Ryley, Josiah, Emma, Abigail, Gretta, Jeremiah, David and Anthony; siblings, Betty Nichols (Ed), Harriet Rogers, Wayne Korngiebel, Shirley Korngiebel, Robert Korngiebel and Mary Larson (Ken); and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Korngiebel and Ida Christensen; stepfather, Owen Christensen; and sister, Evelyn.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Joseph Pavlenko
Funeral service for Joseph Pavlenko, 80, Coon Rapids, took place Sept. 23 at Oak Hill Baptist Church, Columbia Heights. Rev. Dave Briley officiated.
Pavlenko died Sept. 17, 2006. He was born March 12, 1926 in Boyceville, Wis., to Joseph and Susie Pavlenko. He was a World War II veteran and a 34-year postal employee.
He is survived by his wife, Junetta; five children; 10 grandchildren; and other relatives.
Pallbearers were family members.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.
Lorraine Searles
Memorial service for Lorraine M. Searles, 74, Osseo, took place Sept. 22 at Edinbrook Church, Brooklyn Park.
Searles died Sept. 19, 2006 at Mercy Hospital. She was born Nov. 24, 1931 in Isanti County.
She is survived by her son, Donn Searles; daughter, April (Paul) Hollingsworth; grandsons, Adam (Julie), Ryan (Andrea); four great-grandchildren; five sisters; and one brother.
She was preceded in death by his son, Charles; great-grandson, Matthew; and two brothers.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Richard Steele
Funeral service for Richard P. Steele, 60, Fridley, took place Sept. 22 at St. William Catholic Church, Fridley.
Steele died Sept. 15, 2006. He was born Oct. 9, 1945 in Winner, S.D. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and was retired from DeLuxe Corp. after 32 years.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Shelly (Mark) DeCamp, Scott (Jodeen) Huber, Lisa (Richard) Scott, Daniel Steele and Tony Huber; grandchildren, Jonathan, Lauren, Michael, Mitchell, Christina, Isabella, Daniel, Natalie, Samantha and Jordan; mother, Kathleen Steele of Winner, S.D.; brothers, Dennis (Pat) Steele of Florida, Gary Steele of Colorado and Pat (Rita) Steele of South Dakota; sisters, Janet (Gary) Grevillius, Barbara (Gene) Lang of Colorado, Marilyn (Steve) Hundley of Ohio and Deanna (Darrell) Kaiser of South Dakota; many nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald P. Steele.

Mildred Suckow
Funeral service for Mildred Bertha Suckow, 90, Anoka, took place Sept. 25 at Lord of Life Church. Rev. Blair K. Anderson officiated.
Suckow died Sept. 21, 2006 at Park River Estates Care Center, Coon Rapids. She was born June 25, 1916 in Horton Township to Henry F. and Alvina (Hoppe) Mesenbrink.
She is survived by her children, Darwin (Pat), Janice Gades, Warren (Bonnie), Myrna (Joe) Sandberg, Cheryl (Walt) Halberg, Lonny (LaVonne) Arden, Dawn Mantei and Lyndon (Joyce); 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Frieda Melchert.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerhardt; infant son; two brothers; and two sisters.
Pallbearers were Russell, Kent and Bryan Gades, Scott and Jody Suckow and Michael Halberg.
Interment was at St. John's Cemetery, Holloway. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Martha Akin
Funeral service for Martha Ione Akin, 96, Kasson, took place Sept. 22 at Gearhart Anoka Funeral Home. Deacon Dominic Ehrmantraut officiated.
Akin died Sept. 17, 2006 in Rochester. She was born May 4, 1910 to James Elroy and Lottie Helen (Davis) Daugherty.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirley (David) Dehn; grandchildren, David (Kay) Dehn, Nancy Pater and Peggy (Curt) Dehn-Dubbels; eight great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James; and son, Carroll.
Pallbearers were Tony and Eric Pater, Curt Dubbels, David Kuntz, Jerry Wilke and Chris Sullivan.

Betty Lou Bacon
Funeral service for Betty Lou Bacon (Lane), 79, Fridley, took place Sept. 29 at Christ Lutheran Church, Blaine.
Bacon died Sept. 25, 2006.
She is survived by her husband, Herb; children, Sandra (Jack) Haag, Patricia (Gary) Eastlack, Deidre (John) Ewert, Bill (Gale) Bacon, Dave (Lee Ann) Bacon; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
