Forest Cater
Memorial service for Forest 'Mike' Cater, 65, Coon Rapids, will take place today (Friday, Oct. 6), 3 p.m., at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Cater died Oct. 1, 2006. He was born in Deer River and was a retired route salesman for Old Dutch.
He is survived by his wife, Jan; children, Bryan (Kelly), Lee (Terri), Terry Otto (Steve), Patty Bather (Ted); grandchildren, Dustin, Christian 'Scout,' Peter, Zach, Ben, Cole, Clinton, Avery, Libby and Carrie; sister, Carol Ann Corey (Bud); nieces, Kim Peart (Don), Joanne Lennon (Larry); nephew, Shane; mother-in-law, Florence; sister-in-law, Shirley Johnson; brothers-in-law, Jerry Mortensen (Deb), Greg Mortensen (Jody); many other cousins, nieces and nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Forest J.; mother, Alberta; and brother, Patrick.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Anthony Conger
Funeral service for Anthony Jack Conger, 24, Coon Rapids, took place Sept. 29 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Timothy Johnson officiated.
Conger died Sept. 25, 2006. He was born June 19, 1982 to Chester and Judith (Freeberg) Conger and was employed as a laborer.
He is survived by his wife, Taunya; daughters, Kylie and Rayna; parents, Chet and Judy Conger; sister, Amy Conger; grandmother, Marilyn Freeberg; uncles, Dick (Ellen) Freeberg and Scott (Melissa) Conger; cousins, Eileen, Taylor and Trevor; and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Russell Freeberg and Allen and Katie Conger.
Inurnment was private at Crystal Lake Cemetery. Arrangements were by Gearhart Anoka Funeral Home.
Ervin Christensen
Funeral service for Ervin Christensen, 81, Coon Rapids, took place Sept. 29 at Faith Lutheran Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. David Doppenberg officiated.
Christensen died Sept. 25, 2006 in Anoka. He was born March 6, 1925 in Hutchinson to John and Ida Christensen. He was a retired elementary school principal.
He is survived by his wife, Carole; daughters, Paula and Dawn; granddaughter, Lindsay; siblings, Arthur, George (Doris) and Betty (Dave) Hoff; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Doris Nelson; and other relatives.
Pallbearers were Gene, Ron and Jim Christensen, Steve Hoff, Reed Kaping, Russ Murphy and Dean Martin.
Interment was at Sunset Memorial Park, Minneapolis. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.
Berma Farrell
Memorial service for Berma A. Farrell, 84, North Minneapolis, took place Sept. 29 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Farrell died Sept. 26, 2006. She was born May 7, 1922.
She is survived by her sisters, Irene Miller, Evalene (Lawrence) Peterson, Minni Wyatt; twin sister, Margaret Wyatt; and nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James; infant twin sons; brother, Guy; and sister, Ruth.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Mazie Froiland
Memorial service for Mazie M. Froiland, 89, Madison, Wis., will take place at a later date at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka.
Froiland died Sept. 28, 2006 at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center. She was born Jan. 21, 1917 in Ardmore, Pa., to Noah and Florence (Weise) Barb.
She is survived by her daughter, Pam (Scott) Holmgren; grandchildren, Erik (Annie) and Kristin; and great-grandchildren, Alene and Matson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; and her brothers.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Gunderson East Funeral and Cremation Centers, Madison, Wis.
Dawn Gardner
Funeral service for Dawn Hermena Gardner, 70, Coon Rapids, took place Oct. 3 at Strike Funeral Home - Isanti Chapel. Rev. Bill Steinke officiated.
Gardner died Sept. 29, 2006 at Trevilla Nursing Home in New Brighton. She was born Sept. 12, 1936 in Minneapolis to Herman and Beatrice Marschke.
She is survived by her sons, Martin (Sandra) Gardner of Coon Rapids, Dana (Lisa) Gardner of Braham; daughters, Lynn (Verlo) Born of Wyoming, Wendy (James) Born of Ham Lake; grandchildren, Leon, Shannon (Rusty), Greg, Benjamin, Nathan, MaKayla, Brent (Trisha), and Alicia (Matt); great-grandchildren, Aaron, Monica, Bailey and Kirsten; companion, Leonard Erickson of Coon Rapids; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Beatrice Marschke; brother, Paul Marschke; and grandson, Bradley Born.
Pallbearers were Greg and Leon Born, Brent Curtis, MaKayla and Nathan Gardner, Alicia and Matt Reynolds and Shannon Scheuermann.
Interment was in Isanti Union Cemetery. Arrangements were by Strike Funeral Home - Isanti Chapel.
Alex Hrycenko
Funeral service for Alex Hrycenko, 96, took place Sept. 29 Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Igor Melinchuk officiated.
Hrycenko died Sept. 25, 2006 in Brooklyn Park. He was born Feb. 23, 1910 in Ukraine.
He is survived by his wife, Maria; daughter, Elizabeth (John) Jundt; son, Harry (Dauti) Hrycenko; granddaughters, Tina (Skip) Clark, Eleesha Jundt, Angela, Roxann and Alexandra Hrycenko; and great-granddaughters, Alexandra Clark and Marina Hrycenko.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Kevin Kapinos
Funeral service for Kevin M. Kapinos, 44, Brainerd, formerly of Blaine, took place Sept. 28 at Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids. Rev. Dennis Perryman officiated.
Kapinos died Sept. 23, 2006 in Brainerd. He was born April 14, 1962 in Mora to Willie and Gloria Kapinos and was employed in small engine repair.
He is survived by his sons, Kole and Nicholas; brother, Keith (Sandra); sisters, Judy (Joe) Gries, Janis Kapinos (Robert Knight), Joy (Jim) Nehring and Carole Kapinos (Joe Duberstein); and many other relatives and friends.
Interment was at Sunset Memorial Park, Minneapolis. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home.
Lowell Keroff
Memorial service for Lowell N. Keroff, 61, Anoka, took place Oct. 5 at Gearhart Anoka Funeral Home.
Keroff died Sept. 30, 2006. He was a 35-year employee of Northwest Airlines.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene; children, Eric and Kristen; grandson, Tyler; sisters, Viola Kingsbury, Leona (Bob) Connell; brother, Duane (Sharon); and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Carrol Kreun
Funeral service for Carrol Theodore Kreun, 69, Ramsey, took place Sept. 22 at Grace Lutheran Church, Andover. Revs. Gene Heglund and Mark Hellman officiated.
Kreun died Sept. 19, 2006. He was born June 24, 1937 in Edgerton to Lawrence and Florence (Veld) Kreun and was a salesman.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; sons, Mark, Mike (Susan), Steve (Barbara), Jon (Maria); daughter, Linda (Scott) Protivinsky; brothers, Don (Kay) Kreun and Loren (Judy) Kreun; sisters, Lois Fritz and June (Alvin) Fritz; nine grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Florence Kreun.
Pallbearers were Mark, Michael, Steven, Jon, Brandon and Jason Kreun.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Anoka Funeral Home.
Lynette Lind
Memorial service for Lynette 'Net' Lind, 68, Anoka, took place Oct. 4 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka.
Lind died Sept. 29, 2006.
She is survived by her children, Kim (Rocco) Ferraro, Kevin Erickson, Bobbi Miller, Berghetta (Tim) Schmidt, Chris (Matt) Kottwitz, Otto Lind, Annette (Steve) Tschida; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Jeanene (Jim) Hays; brothers, Bruce (Carol) and Keith (Pat); and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Frances Larson; husband Otto; and son, Kevin Lind.
