Funeral services for Bessie L. Wester, 78, Elk River, took place March 20 at Faith Community Lutheran Church, Zimmerman.

Wester died March 16, 2004.

She is survived by her children, Joyce (Jim) Haines, Dick (Linda), Don (Sue), Nancy Dallman, Peggy Wester, Faye (Bill) Legare; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rebecca (Louis) Kazda, Martha (Erling) Husby; brother, S. David (Margaret) Forbord; sister-in-law, Mable Wester; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; brothers, Wesley and Art Forbord; sisters, Esther and Helen Forbord; and sons-in-law, Tom Dallman and Earl Nelson.

Interment was at Orono Cemetery, Elk River. Arrangements were by Dare's Funeral Home, Elk River.

Alice Woznak

Funeral services for Alice J. Woznak, 90, Wyoming, took place March 23 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Oak Grove. Rev. Tim Woznak officiated.

Woznak died March 17, 2004 in Forest Lake. She was born April 16, 1913 in Silver Lake to Alvin and Josephine Kadlec.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynnette Woznak; grandchildren, Patrick (Renee) Bernstrom, Bridget and Molly Bernstrom, Bruce (Mary) Woznak, Mary (Tim) Glynn, Brad (Kari) Woznak; and great-grandchildren, Brandon, Katie, Brianna, Garrett and Taylor; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; and son, Milan.

Pallbearers were Bruce and Brad Woznak, Mary Glynn, and Patrick, Bridget and Molly Bernstrom.

Interment was at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Oak Grove. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Frances Zachau

Funeral services for B. Frances (Fran) Zachau, East Bethel, took place Feb. 25 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, East Bethel.

Zachau died Feb. 22, 2004.

She is survived by her husband, George; sons, Richard and Mark (Pauline); grandchildren, Jeremy, Steven and Bryan; brother, John (Leona) Trost; and other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hank and Susan Trost of Johnsville.

Interment was at Sunset Memorial Park, Minneapolis. Arrangements were by Miller Funeral Home, Fridley.

Paul Anderson

Funeral services for Paul M. Anderson, 63, Coon Rapids, took place March 26 at Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Jim Martin officiated.

Anderson died March 22, 2004 in Coon Rapids. He was born Nov. 20, 1940 in Pine City to Arnold and Cecile Anderson and was employed in assembly.

He is survived by his sister, Janice Hull; brother, Jack Anderson; and seven nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Cecile Anderson.

Interment was at Franconia Catholic Cemetery, West Taylors Falls. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.

Vera Braucht

Funeral services for Vera Blanch Braucht, 94, Champlin, took place March 26 at Zion Lutheran Church. Rev. Connie Tiede officiated.

Braucht died March 22, 2004 at her home. She was born Nov. 18, 1909 in Oregon, Ill., to Harry Sylvester and Anna Blanche (Brugh) Champlain. She was a foster mother to many children and a member of the Champlin Library Association, Champlin Women's Club and Champlin Sewing Club.

She is survived by her children, Phyllis Closson, Donald (Mary) Braucht, Doris (Laurence) Schubert and Marlene (Douglas) Nelson; sister, Ruth Hoernecke of Illinois; 18 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy; daughters, Karin Sutherland and Joan Fields; and brothers, Harold and Lewis Champlain.

Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Norma Burke

Funeral services for Norma Cecilia Burke, 91, Elk River, took place March 26 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Bill Deziel officiated.

Burke died March 22, 2004 at Guardian Angels Care Center, Elk River. She was born Oct. 12, 1912 in Anoka to George Peter and Nora (Patton) McArdle.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence; daughters, Carol Slater and Janet Burke, both of Coon Rapids, Mary Burke-Hengen of Washington, Betty (Jerry) Fenna of Champlin; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Connie Jo Burke; sons, Larry and James Burke; and grandson, Troy Peterson.

Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Orrin Christopherson

Funeral services for Orrin Christopherson, 86, Anoka, took place April 1 at Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. John Kerr officiated.

Christopherson died March 27, 2004 in Anoka. He was born April 8, 1917 in Granite Falls to Charles and Hanna Christopherson and was retired truck driver.

He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Elmore; grandchildren, Robert, Dan, Cindy, Chuck, Pam and Greg; 20 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; sister, Hazel Reynolds; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel; daughters, Virginia and Patricia; granddaughter, Shari; and brother, Robert,

Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel.

Russell Larson

Funeral services for Russell E. Larson Sr., 48, formerly of Columbia Heights, took place March 25 at Advent Lutheran Church, Anoka.

Larson died March 19, 2004 at Mercy Hospital. He was born May 5, 1955 in Minneapolis.

He is survived by Debra Larson and their children, Angela Amundson (Dan), Melissa Larson (Russ) and Russell Jr.; grandchildren, Bailey, Brennan, Darian; parents, Judith and Melvin Larson; and brothers and sisters, Richard, Robyn Hance (Jeff) and Randall (Christina).

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Patricia Mooney.

Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavey Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Laura Maxson

A private memorial will take place for Laura Mae Maxson, 83, Coon Rapids.

Maxson died March 23, 2004 at Unity Hospital. She was born May 11, 1920 in Empire Township.

She is survived by her children, Geraldine, Joan, Barb, Earl, Kathy, Robert, Mike and Mary; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Cameron Nix

Funeral services for Cameron Mark 'Cam' Nix, 41, Hanover, took place March 24 at Church of St. Michael, St. Michael. Rev. Leonard Siebenaler officiated.

Nix died March 22, 2004 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis. He was born Aug. 8, 1962 in Minneapolis to Robert L. and Jean J. Cheever Nix and worked as a technical specialist at Quality Assured Label.

He is survived by his sons, Joshua (Sara) and granddaughter Lillian Jade, and Jeremy, all of Hanover; sister, Kersten (Tim) Thellin and nephews Derek and Jackson, all of Savage; brother, Jason (Kim) of Keystone, Colo.; parents, Jean and Bob Nix of Winona; uncles, aunts and cousins; and the mother of his sons, Lana.

Interment was at the Hanover Village Cemetery. Arrangements were by The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home.

Rex Sanner

Funeral services for Rex L. Sanner, 86, Maple Grove, took place March 26 at First Baptist Church of Anoka. Rev. Abe Cardosa officiated.

Sanner died March 21, 2004 at Mercy Hospital. He was born Oct. 7, 1917 in Maynard to Lawrence A. Sanner and Ruth R. Lighter and was retired from manufacturing purchasing.

He is survived by his wife, Ardis; sons, Lanny (Marilyn), James (Debra); daughters, Sharon (John) Pates, Joann (Ronald) Fromm; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Oliver Sanner; and sister, Zoe Sanner.

Interment was at Leenthorp Memorial Cemetery, Maynard. Arrangements were by Gearhart.

Bailey Sarenpa

Funeral services for Bailey Jean Sarenpa, 16 days, Coon Rapids, took place March 27 at Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. James Martin officiated.

She died March 25, 2004 in Coon Rapids. She was born March 9 in Coon Rapids.

She is survived by her parents, Steve and Holly; brothers, Danny, Matt and Chris; grandparents, Leslie and Carol Hamilton, Linda North; great-grandmothers, Dorothy DeValk, Laverne Sarenpa and Carol Cunningham; aunts, Kristen Hamilton, Michele Hamilton; and uncle, Jeff Sarenpa.

Interment was at Holy Name Cemetery, Medina. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids.
