Donald Essig
Funeral services for Donald Amandus Essig, 77, Anoka, took place June 2 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Rev. Norman R. Berg officiated.
Essig died May 29, 2004 at his home. He was born July 31, 1926 in Fredonia, N.D., to George John and Katherine (Hoff) Essig. He was a retired materials coordinator at an electrical company and a member of the Anoka American Legion.
He is survived by his son, Jon; daughter, Susan Essig; granddaughter, Jennifer Dahms; great-grandson, Ethan; former wife, Aina; sister, Bertha Krapu; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel; and brothers, Gerhard and Harold.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Kermit Frickson
Funeral services for Kermit H. Frickson, 82, Coon Rapids, took place June 2 at Gearhart Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Tom Brock officiated.
Frickson died May 30, 2004 in Coon Rapids. He was born Aug. 18, 1921 in Fairfax to Henry and Anna Frickson and was a retired milkman.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; children, Laurie (Vance) Vergin, Kathy (Joel) Peterson, John (Iryna); grandchildren, Amy, Holly, Jennifer and Kristen; sisters, Hazel David, Agnes Frickson; and brother, Wilbert.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters.
Pallbearers were James Dahl, Vance Vergin, Joel Peterson and John, Edward and Fred Frickson.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Anoka.
Theresa Hagel
Funeral services for Theresa Lillie Hagel, 89, Rogers, took place June 2 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Norman R. Berg officiated.
Hagel died May 28, 2004 at Wellstead of Rogers. She was born March 13, 1915 in St. Francis Township, Anoka County, to Edward William and Minnie Bertha (Schulte) Redmann.
She is survived by her brother, Elmer Redmann and wife Lorraine; sister, Rachel Maag and husband Roland; brother-in-law, Edwin Milless; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; and sister, DeLoris Milless.
Pallbearers were Gary, Thomas and Gordon Maag, Duane Schulte and Larry and Shane Milless.
Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Robert Lund
Funeral services for Robert Thomas Lund, 59, St. Francis, took place June 9 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel, Anoka. Rev. Gary Mueller officiated.
Lund died June 6, 2004 at his home. He was born Feb. 24, 1945 in Minneapolis to Clifford James and Anita Ann (Roubey) Lund and was a mechanic at Majestic Oaks Golf Course.
He is survived by his children, Thomas Lund, Debbie Maxfield, Stacie Urban, Wayne Lund and Brandon Lund; four grandchildren; brothers, Larry, John and Joe Lund; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kitty Lou.
Pallbearers were Wayne, Brandon and Josh Lund, Peter Urban, Joel Geist and Jim Kasa.
Interment was at Our Saviour's Lutheran Cemetery, Ham Lake. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Richard Masloski
Funeral services for Richard Paul Masloski, 55, Champlin, took place June 1 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel, Anoka. Rev. Blair K. Anderson officiated.
Masloski died May 28, 2004 at Mercy Hospital. He was born Aug. 18, 1948 in Minneapolis to Paul Stanley and Louise Marie (Jandro) Masloski and was a self-employed carpenter.
He is survived by his children, Anne Coffey, Cindy Lundstrom, Carrie Masloski and Mark Masloski; grandchildren, Alyxis and Kienan Lundstrom, Kalyn Coffey and George Peterson; mother, Louise Masloski; brothers, Bill and David; sisters, Patricia, Marie and Sandra; and nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul; and brother, Charles.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Charles McCallum
Funeral services for Charles Gordon 'Bud' McCallum, 81, Anoka, took place June 10 at Family of Christ Lutheran Church. Rev. Dennis Perryman officiated.
McCallum died June 5, 2004 at Guardian Angels Care Center, Elk River. He was born July 23, 1922 in Burns Township to Charles Edward and Eva Lena McCallum. He was a retired farmer and owner of a Polaris dealership for 35 years.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; son, Michael (Marie) McCallum of Oak Grove; daughter, Susan McCallum of Anoka; grandchildren, Steve and Lonna Wilson and Jean (Matheu) Hongel; great-granddaughter, Errin Hongel; sisters, Leona Swanson of Forest Lake; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Wayne Barkley, Jack and Tim Swanson, Ron Sundeen, Dean Heckenlaible and Rob Rieck.
Interment was in West Oak Grove Cemetery, Oak Grove. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Helen Mersereau
Funeral services for Helen Marie Mersereau, 94, Coon Rapids, took place at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Mersereau died June 1, 2004 at Anoka Care Center. She was born Nov. 7, 1909 in Elizabeth, N.J.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Carole of Venice, Fla., formerly of Coon Rapids; son, Richard of Pensacola, Fla.; grandchildren, Brad, Michelle, Kelly and Scott; and six great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
James Myers
Funeral services for James Wesley Myers, 27, Andover, took place June 8 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Kjell Ferris officiated.
Myers died June 3, 2004 from cancer at Bellaire Hospital, Houston, Texas. He was born May 3, 1977 in Coon Rapids to James John and Sally Kay (Bauer) Myers. He was a 1996 graduate of Anoka High School and a self-employed carpenter.
He is survived by his parents, James and Sally Myers of Andover; soulmate, Hollie Hukee of Andover; brothers, John (Heather) Myers of Ramsey and David (Angela) Myers of Oak Grove; grandfather, Arnold C. Bauer of North St. Paul; grandmother, Elizabeth 'Bette' Myers of North St. Paul; nephew, Jacob Myers; and nieces, Madilyn 'Madi' and Amanda Myers.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John C. Myers and Vivian E. Bauer.
Pallbearers were Paul Bauer, Adam Edwards, Jeremy Lee, Jeremy Westerveld, John Myers, Justin Galzki, Matt Pariseau and Jeff Wicklund.
Interment was at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Mahtomedi. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Wade Quinehan
Funeral services for Wayne B. Quinehan, 31, Blaine, took place June 4 at Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. James Martin officiated.
Quinehan died May 31, 2004 in Daniels Township, Siren, Wis. He was born Oct. 12, 1972 in Coon Rapids to Gerald and Linda Quinehan and was an installer for flooring products.
He is survived by his parents, Jerry and Linda Quinehan; sisters, Bridget and Lonna (Jason); nieces, Brionna and Karah; nephew, Dylan; grandmothers, Shirley Quinehan and Evva Alsaker; godfather, Lannis Alsaker; special girlfriend, Trecia Guimont; and many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Wayne Quinehan and Henry Alsaker.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.
Wallace Schuroff
Memorial services for Wallace M. Schuroff, 77, Coon Rapids, took place June 7 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Dr. Randy Taber officiated.
Schuroff died June 2, 2004. He was born Feb. 28, 1927 in Minneapolis and was a member of the Coon Rapids VFW.
He is survived by his daughters, Deborah (Jeffrey) Burns, Rebecca (Rick) Benson; son, Lonnie; grandchildren, Sean (Melissa) and Brion Burns, Rachel, Tyler, Tanner and Noelle Benson, and Jenna Jarboe; and great-granddaughters, Abrielle and Anna Burns.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
William Stack
Funeral services for William James Stack, 73, Anoka, took place May 26 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Adrian Piotrowski officiated.
Stack died May 22, 2004 in Coon Rapids. He was born March 23, 1931 in Superior, Wis., to Daniel F. Stack and Margaret Schmeltzer and was a retired powder handler at Federal Cartridge.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Mary (Patrick) Palas, Catherine (Tim) Marotte, James (Bonnie) Stack and Daniel Stack; grandchildren, Brian, Joshua (Krissey), Kevin (Jenny), Shannon (Mike), Ashley; brother, Joseph (Maryrose); and sisters, Kathleen Tweten and Winnifred Starkweather.
Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Gearhart.
