Ronald Robinson
Funeral services for Ronald Wade Robinson, 70, Champlin, took place June 29 at First Baptist Church of Anoka. Rev. Abe Cardosa officiated.
Robinson died June 25, 2004 in Champlin. He was born Oct. 20, 1933 in Minneapolis to Jack E. and Mable Lorraine (Stark) Robinson. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and an electrician.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene; sons, David (Michelle), Michael (Becky) and Mark Robinson; daughter, Dawn Robinson; grandchildren, Nicole, Yasmine, Stefan, Nicholas, Cody, Benjamin and Tyler; mother, Mable Robinson-Samples; brother, James Robinson; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack; and stepfather, James Samples.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Doris Brodahl
Funeral services for Doris Olive Brodahl, 86, Minneapolis, took place July 13 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Norman R. Berg officiated.
Brodahl died July 8, 2004 at Walker Methodist Health Center, Minneapolis. She was born June 8, 1918 in Geneseo, N.D., to Ole and Olive (Jensvold) Tinseth.
She is survived by her daughters, Lois (Fred) Johnson, Mary Willcox and Linda (Bud) Arwood; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; granddaughter, Sara Johnson; brother, Melvin and Helmer Tinseth; and sister, Alice Brenden.
Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Donald Brown
Memorial services for Donald Dennis Brown, 64, took place July 9 at Church of St. Patrick, Oak Grove.
Brown died July 6, 2004 at United Hospital. He was born Sept. 18, 1949 in St. Paul.
He is survived by his wife, Annette; son, Danny Michael Brown; daughters, Tonya Jo Brown (Steve Anderson), Jeannette (John) Money; stepdaughters, Tara and Becky; granddaughters, Magdalina Marie and Dahlia Jean; sister, Cheryl (Ronald) Donovan; nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Carol Brown; and good friend, Kevin Fischer.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Norman Erickson
Funeral services for Norman Oleif Erickson, 81, Coon Rapids, took place July 3 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon RapIds. Rev. Patrick M. Kennedy officiated.
Erickson died June 30, 2004 in Anoka. He was born in Ball Club to Frederick Erickson and Nellie Gotchie. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, receiving two Purple Hearts. He was a retired carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; sons, Ervin, Norman and William; daughter, Shirley (Chris) Fairbanks; stepdaughters, Jodee (Kirk) Molitor and Sharon (Mark) Dickey; grandchildren, Lance, Justin, Cheyenne, Jamie, Michelle, Ben, Amy, Michael, William Jr., Becky, Barbara, Dale, Angela, Matthew, Alysha, Meghan, Andrew, Danielle, Mark, John and Joe; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ervin; and grandson, Thomas.
Interment was at Epiphany Cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart.
LeRoy Flor
Funeral services for LeRoy William Flor, 69, Chandler, Ariz., took place July 6 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Michael A. Van Sloun officiated.
Flor died June 29, 2004 in Chandler, Ariz. He was born in Minneapolis to Lawrence B. Flor and Maybelle Hanson and was a ceramic tile floor layer.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Michael D. Flor, Debra L. Thompson (Flor), Timothy J. (Nancy) Flor, Donna M. (Dave) Underwood, Diane L. McLean (Flor), Gerald M. (Sharon) Flor, Tammy J. (Mark) Kuechenmeister; 18 grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sonya Flor; sister, Jeanette (Ray) French; and brother, Gary (Mary) Flor.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Lawrence B. and Maybelle (Hanson) Flor; and brother, Lawrence A. Flor.
Pallbearers were Mike, Tim and Jerry Flor, Dave Underwood, Mark Kuechenmeister and Todd Ott.
Arrangements were by Gearhart.
Raymond Hill
Raymond D. Hill, 90, Coon Rapids, died at his home July 6, 2004. He was born May 9, 1914 and was retired from Burlington-Northern.
He is survived by his nephew; and best friend, Dennis.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma.
Arrangements were by the Cremation Society of Minnesota, Brooklyn Park.
Nancy Metzger
Funeral services for Nancy Ann Metzger, 59, Coon Rapids, took place July 10 at Church of St. Paul, Ham Lake.
Metzger died July 4, 2004 at her home. She was born Jan. 24, 1945 in Minneapolis to Donald Bunker and Alice Albertson and was a teacher.
She is survived by her husband, Bob; sons, Bobby and Josh; daughter, Debbie (Keith) Zeto; granddaughter, Taylor Zeto; brother, Dave (Diane) Bunker; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Alice Bunker; and sister, Jean.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Anthony Posl
Funeral services for Anthony J. Posl, 87, Brooklyn Park, took place July 15 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. David Blume officiated.
Posl died July 11, 2004 in Edina. He was born July 6, 1917 in Bird Island to Michael Posl and Celestine Huebsch and was a retired truck driver.
He is survived by his children, John (Marilyn), Paul (Linda), Daniel, Mark (Cindy), Jill (Jeff) Baumer; six grandchildren; brother, Norbert (Julie); and sisters, Rita Mahoney and Virginia (Walt) Stadelman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma; and grandson, Jack.
Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Gearhart.
Jan Trnka
Memorial services for Jan E. Trnka, 66, Anoka, will take place tomorrow (Saturday, July 17, 2004), 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the services, at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel, Anoka. Mary L. Mestelle will officiate.
Trnka died at Mercy Hospital. She was born June 3, 1938 in Beaulieu to Edward and Jan Ovidea (Harvey) Trnka and was a Metro Transit bus driver.
She is survived by her companion, Mary Mestelle; brother, Douglas Johnson and wife Mary of New Brighton; sister, Dolores Chadwick and husband Tom of Willow River; two nieces; three nephews; two great-nieces; and many friends.
Interment will be private. Arrangements are by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Douglas Hanson
Funeral services for Douglas Roger Hanson, 83, Anoka, took place July 22 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rv. Norman R. Berg officiated.
Hanson died July 19, 2004 accidentally at his business, Bake Star, Inc., Ramsey. He was born Sept. 17, 1920 in Beltrami to Christian Alfred and Alda Christine (Ruud) Hanson. He was a design engineer and a member of the Coon Rapids VFW, Anoka Legion and American Society of Bakery Engineers.
He is survived by his children, Douglas, Roger and Gary Hanson, Sherri (Chris) Stumpf and Laura (Pat) Tuckner; grandchildren, Martene Olson, Jake Stumpf, Chase Wegman, Henry and Haley Hanson; sisters, Jeanne Kobzoff, Ardy (Don) Berglund, Carol Compton and Marian (Ray) Tollefson; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margery; sister, Lorraine Glanz; and son-in-law Clay Olson.
Interment was at Constance Cemetery, Andover. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Harriet Hicks
Funeral services for Harriet L. Hicks, 55, St. Francis, took place July 15, 2004 at Long Lake Lutheran Church, Isanti. Rev. Howard Skulstad officiated.
Hicks died July 11, 2004 in Elk River. She was born Oct. 13, 1948 in Centralia, Ill.
She is survived by her husband, Dwight Hicks; children, Tina (Keith), Dede, Josh, Connie (Jeff); grandchildren, Angela, Brian, Carly and Kayla; siblings, Amber, Paul and Debbie; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Earl D. Sinclair and Marie Onhiser.
Interment was at Elmwood Cemetery, Centralia, Ill. Arrangements were by Gearhart Anoka Funeral Home.
