Irene Beckman
Funeral services for Irene Florence Beckman, 94, Elk River, took place Aug. 11 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. J. R. Baumgarn officiated.
Beckman died Aug. 7, 2004 at Guardian Angels Care Center, Elk River. She was born Dec. 5, 1909 in Burns Township to Aron and Anna Helena (Nilson) Skogquist.
She is survived by her son, David and wife Pam of Burns Township; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace; brothers, William, Oscar and Everett Skogquist; and sisters, Hannah Lindblom, Svea Elmquist, Edith Greenberg and Esther Neddersen.
Pallbearers were Halley, John, Larry and Mike Skogquist, and Tom and Rollie Greenberg.
Interment was at Lakeview Cemetery, Nowthen. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Harriet Clark
Funeral services for Harriet Clark, 90, Cumberland, Wis., formerly of Anoka, Farmington and Green Bay, Wis., took place Aug. 9 at Augustana Lutheran Church, Cumberland. Rev. David Halaas officiated.
Clark died Aug. 4, 2004 at Cumberland Memorial Hospital. She was born Sept. 15, 1913 in Barnesville to John and Pauline (Osten) Nelson and taught chemistry and physics in Chatfield, Hinckley and Anoka.
She is survived by her sons, Mark Clark of Cumberland, Tom Clark of Roseville and John (Marilyn) Clark of Inver Grove Heights.
Pallbearers were Lauren Nelson, Bob Hausman, Mervin Olson, Bud Erickson, Gene Hopkins and Joe DeNucci.
Interment was at Lakeside Cemetery, Cumberland. Arrangements were by Skinner Funeral Home, Cumberland.
F. G. 'Sam' Clasen
F. G. 'Sam' Clasen, 93, Mesa, Ariz, formerly of Anoka, died Aug. 4, 2004 in hospital in Mesa, Ariz.
He was born July 24, 1911 in Buffalo Lake to Emil C. and Lillian (Graham) Clasen. He spent all his working life as a newspaperman, including many years with the Anoka County Union and Shopper/ABC Newspapers in 1937, 1940-41 and then from 1949 until his retirement.
He is survived by his son, Neil; and brothers, John and Warren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dora; sisters, Jennie, Grayce and Leola; and brother, Virgil.
Arrangements were by the n Cremation Society, Phoenix, Ariz.
Aloysius Cybyske
Funeral services for Aloysius Kenneth Cybyske, 71, Coon Rapids, took place Aug. 6 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Rev. David Blume officiated.
Cybyske died Aug. 2, 2004 in New Hope. He was born Sept. 2, 1932 in Minneapolis to Aloysius and Mary Cybyske and was a production coordinator.
He is survived by his son, Kenneth; daughter, Michelle; brother, Loren (Mary) Cybyske; sisters, Delores Duggan and Loretta (Tom) Wolfe; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna.
Pallbearers were Marvin Greeninger, Bob Vanusek, Harlan Hochreiter, Nick Halesay, Tom Weinberger and Willis Keith.
Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.
Mary Dick
Funeral services for Mary E. Dick, Coon Rapids, took place July 27 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Thomas Kunkel officiated.
Dick died July 21, 2004 in Coon Rapids. She was born Dec. 22, 1912 in Hutchinson and was a retired hardware retail clerk.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews; and special friends, Judy and Nicole.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Dick III.
Interment was at Epiphany Cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Agnes Fernlund
Funeral services for Agnes Ann Fernlund, 85, Lino Lakes, took place Aug. 9 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Patrick Kennedy officiated.
Fernlund died Aug. 3, 2004 in Coon Rapids. She was born June 1, 1919 in Two Inlets Township to Joseph and Katherine Pachel. She was a retired machine operator.
She is survived by her son, Francis (Mildred) Pachel; daughter, Georgine Smith, Marilyn (Pete) Heidgerken, Mary Nieland; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and sisters, Theresa Simpson and Ann Mae (Fred) Higgins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; son, James Pachel; four brothers; and three sisters.
Pallbearers were Steve Frisbie, Jeff Torell, Paul Henry and John, Jim and Tom Higgins.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.
George Geschwind
Funeral services for George H. Geschwind, 87, Blaine, took place Aug. 10 at Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids. Chaplain Paul Reynolds officiated.
Geschwind died Aug. 5, 2004 in Cambridge. He was born Oct. 18, 1916 in Minneapolis to Peter and Vera Geschwind and was a retired oil refiner.
He is survived by his son, Peter; granddaughters, Carolynn, Jessica, Sara and Alicia; 14 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Frances, Virginia and Marion.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita; and brother, Gordan.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home
Dale Hultman
Funeral services for Dale Edward Hultman, 61, Cedar, took place Aug. 9 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, East Bethel.
Hultman died Aug. 5, 2004 at Mercy Hospital. He was born Feb. 6, 1943 in Pine City to Raymond and Eva Jane (Schulz) Hultman and worked at Gage Tool, Minneapolis, for 25 years, then operated his own tool design business, Hultman Tool Inc. for 16 years.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Becky and husband Chris Launer of Crystal and Jay and wife Heather of St. Michael; mother, Eva Jane Hultman of Braham; sister, Barb and husband Blaine Erickson of Stillwater; brother, Rick and wife Mary of Braham; 13 nieces and nephews; 13 great-nieces and nephews; and by many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond.
Interment was at Rice Lake Cemetery, Braham. Arrangements were by Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home, Milaca.
Hazel Leslie
Private funeral services took place for Hazel Irene Leslie, 78, Anoka.
Leslie died Aug. 6, 2004 in Anoka. She was born Jan. 14, 1926 in Bejou to Herman and Mathea Janssen.
She is survived by her sons, Rich (Debbie), Dennis (Janet), David (Laurie); grandchildren, Michael, Denise, Jeremy, Brian, Blake, Blair, Hunter, Dustin; and brother, Stanley (Charlotte)
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard J.; and siblings, Gustau, Ester, Wallace, Marvin, Ruth and Ernest.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home.
DeAnne Lindsay
Funeral services for DeAnne Lee Lindsay, 36, Anoka, took place Aug. 5 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church. Rev. Rosanne Swanson officiated.
Lindsay died Aug. 2, 2004. She was born Oct. 14, 1967 in Waterloo, Iowa, to Daryl LaVerne and Judith Kay (Thiele) Brennaman and was an accountant at an auto body repair business.
She is survived by her husband, Ryan; son, Reid; daughter, Darian, all of Anoka; parents, Daryl and Judy Brennaman; sister, Shelly (Jeremy) Robb; grandparents, Lilianne Thiele and Leila Brennaman, all of Iowa; parents-in-law, Robert and Beverly Lindsay of Brooklyn Park; and nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Pallbearers were Steve Minard, Dennis Mack, Jeff Thiele, Terry Salmonson, Travis Vlasity and Patrick Wagner.
Interment was at Garden of Hope Cemetery, Ramsey. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Richard Martin
Funeral services for Richard K. Martin, 61, Champlin, took place Aug. 7 at Church of St. Stephen, Anoka. Rev. Michael Van Sloun officiated.
Martin died Aug. 2, 2004. He was born in March 1943 in Pasadena, Calif., and was employed in car sales.
He is survived by his wife, Gayln; children, Cheryl (David) Brown, Dan (Becky) and Cindy (John) Mulroy; and six grandchildren.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
