Harry Haskvitz
Harry Haskvitz, 90, formerly of Anoka, died on Wednesday, September 22, 2004 in Ontario, Calif.
He worked at Odegard's Ford and as a volunteer for the Anoka Fire Department in the late 1940s.
He is survived by his brother, Bob of South Dakota; sisters, Ann and Jenny, both of Minneapolis; children, Alan, Judy and Dennis, all of California; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose.
Kenneth Henrikson
Funeral service for Kenneth E. Henrikson, 84, of Danbury, Wis., formerly of the East Bethel and Brainerd areas, took place Oct. 3 at Strike Funeral Home - Isanti Chapel. Rev. Howard Skulstad officiating.
Henrikson died Sept. 30, 2004 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. He was born Feb. 21, 1920 in northern Anoka County Albin and Jessie Henrikson. He served in the U.S. Navy and served his country in World War II. After he retired from the Minnesota Department of Transportation they moved from East Bethel to the Brainerd area.
He is survived by sons, Richard Henrikson and his wife Jane of Danbury, Ronald Wiele and his wife Karen of Brainerd; brothers, Darle Henrikson and his wife Darlene of Mounds View, Ernie Henrikson of Anoka; sister, Vivian Garmatz of Elk River; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albin and Jessie; first wife, Joyce; second wife, Olive; son, Michael Henrikson; daughter, Dixie Lee Sakkinen; brothers, Forest and Lloyd; and sisters, Myrtle and Isabelle.
Interment was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Harold Krull
Funeral service for Rev. Harold Paul Krull, 76, Valley City, Ohio, took place Oct. 4, 2004 at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Medina, Ohio. Rev. Thomas W. Schwartz officiated.
He was born March 31, 1928 to Rev. Henry and Martha Ehlers Krull.
He played in the U.S. Army Band for two years and taught public school music for five years after graduating from seminary, served several Lutheran parishes in Minnesota.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Reutter Krull; daughters, Paula (Dale) Grace, Mary Beth (Ken) Peter; son, Jonathan Krull; and seven grandchildren.
Interment was at Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
Arrangements were by Waite and Son Funeral Home, Medina Chapel, Ohio.
Maymie Lindeman
Funeral service for Maymie Lindeman, 88, Anoka, took place Oct. 4 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Ron McGivra officiated.
Lindeman died Sept. 30, 2004. She was born April 7, 1916 in Geddes, S.D., to Joseph and Rosa Kukrall.
She is survived by her sons, Larry (Jo) Lindeman of Central Point, Ore., and Kenneth Lindeman of Eden Prairie; daughters, Marlene (John), Peterson of Eau Claire, Wis., and Sharlene (Mark) Rau of Anoka; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and sister, Emma Kukrall of Faulkton, S.D.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert; daughters, Caroline Dwyer and infant daughter Eileen Jana Lindeman; parents; brothers, Joe, Mike, Louis, Jake and Pete Kukrall; sisters, Tillie Kubal, Stella Kadlac, Josephine Braseth, Sylvia Aesoph, Rose Klein; and granddaughter, Amber Turner.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Everett Matthes
Funeral service for Everett F. Matthes, 97, Andover, took place Sept. 29 at Gearhart Anoka Funeral Home. Rev. Norman Berg officiated.
Matthes died Sept. 24, 2004 in Coon Rapids. He was born July 17, 1907 to John and Emma Matthes. He was a World War II veteran and a retired punch press operator.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; son, James; sisters, Fern Matthes and Evelyn Toppel; niece, Sharon Toppel; and cousin, Marvin Stirens.
Pallbearers were Kevin, Ronald, Robert and Russell Banta, Sunrise Ehn and Thomas Lundholm.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Anoka Funeral Home.
David Micheau
Funeral service for David Alexander Micheau, 68, Laporte, took place Oct. 5 at St. Theodore's Catholic Church, Laporte. Rev. Duane Pribula officiated.
Micheau died Sept. 28, 2004. He was born Nov. 8, 1935 in Champlin to Raymond and Alice (Hall) Micheau. He was an Anoka High School graduate and served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1960. He and his wife Delores served in the Peace Corp in the Philippines in 1991 and were foster parents to more than 32 years. He was a plumber by trade.
He is survived by his wife, Delores Micheau of Laporte; sons, Robert (Happy) Micheau of Akeley, Shawn Micheau of Grand Junction, Colo., Troy Lee (Rebecca) Micheau of Oakland, Calif., Richard (Raeanne) Roman of Buffalo; daughters, Kathryn (Tim) Kraemer of Anoka, Evamarie Micheau of Laporte, Larellyn (Mark Ziegler) Micheau of Laporte; brother, Hubert (Vickie) Micheau of Laporte; sister, Sharon (Dennis) Bolin of Laporte; and mother-in-law, Eva Jones of Laporte; 19 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Susan Roman; and grandchild, Paul Kraemer.
Pallbearers were grandsons Christopher, Todd Jr., David II and Jonnie Micheau, Gregory Mifek and Luke Ziegler; alternate Joseph Long. Honorary pallbearers were Oscar and Mario Orantes and Daniel and Zachary Roman.
Interment was at St. Theodore's Catholic Cemetery, Laporte. Arrangements were by the Cease Family Funeral Home, Bemidji.
Dianna Olson
Funeral services for Dianna Jean Olson, 59, Brainerd, took place Sept. 30 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel, Anoka. Rev. Liane S. Rock officiated.
Olson died Sept. 26, 2004 at Woodland Good Samaritan Village, Anoka. She was born July 27, 1945 in Robbinsdale to Robert Dean and Anna Belle (Herboldt) Mead. She was a clerical worker for the city of Plymouth.
She is survived by her children, Dean Owens, Darcie (Scott) French, Daniel Bixby; sisters, Nancy (Tom) Taylor, Roxanne (Alan) Wells, Arlys Mead; grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Ann Mead.
Pallbearers were Daniel Bixby, Scott French, Tom Taylor, Alan Wells, Stacey Burnham and Carl Mead.
Interment was at Champlin Cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Steven Ramirez
Funeral service for Steven Joseph Ramirez, 44, took place Sept. 30 at Church of the Epiphany, Coon Rapids. Rev. Thomas Kunkel officiated.
Ramirez died suddenly Sept. 25, 2004. He was born June 10, 1960 in Pomona, Calif. He was employed in customer service at Abbott Paint and Carpet, St. Paul.
He is survived by his children, Jennifer, Joseph, Joshua, Jamie, Jacob; wife, Cindy; parents, Mary and Larry Ramirez of Coon Rapids; uncles, Raymond, Frank, Larry Rangel and families; and aunts, Lupe, Carmen and families.
Interment was at Epiphany Cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel Coon Rapids.
Judy Saxon
Funeral service for Judy Gay Saxon, 66, Blaine, took place Oct. 3 at Methven-Taylor Funeral Home. Rev. Bill Steinke officiated.
Saxon died Sept. 30, 2004 in Blaine. She was born Sept. 11, 1938 in Columbus, Neb., to Ruby and Eldon Bellairs and was an office manager.
She is survived by her sons, Stephen (Mary) Saxon, John (Carrie) Saxon; granddaughters, Anna and Carly; mother, Ruby Bellairs; and sisters, Marcia (Rob) Anderson and Denise (Bob) Maxwell.
She was preceded in death b by her father, Eldon Bellairs.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home.
Carol Thoreson
Funeral service for Carol Jean Thoreson, 78, Anoka, took place Oct. 5 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Dean Wirz officiated.
Thoreson died Oct. 1, 2004 in Anoka. She was born Feb. 11, 1926 in Anoka.
She is survived by her children, Donna Thoreson, Randy Thoreson, Sandra Raines, Janice (Michael) Boie, Sandi (Larry) Randa, Robert Lennehan, Donald Thoreson and Karen Ramacher; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brothers, Roy (Mona) Westlund and Vernon (Cathy) Westlund.
Pallbearers were Ryan and Troy Ramacher, Rich and Tavis Thoreson, Troy Dahlheimer and Mike Boie. Honorary pallbearer was Dusty Charest.
Interment was at Lakeview Cemetery, Nowthen. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Elsie Tiernan
Funeral service for Elsie Frances Tiernan, 91, Anoka, took place Oct. 4 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Mike VanSloun officiated.
Tiernan died Sept. 26, 2004 in Brooklyn Center. She was born May 12, 1913 in Dayton to Alexander G. Micheau and Julia Mary Belanger and was a retired restaurant business owner.
She is survived by her son, Maurice (Sharon); daughters, Joyce Grove and Jeanne Masloski; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Florence Gutzwiller and Rita Robeck; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Bourgeois and Kathleen Varville; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Muriel) Tiernan; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice.
Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Gearhart Anoka Funeral Home.
