Mary McBrown

Funeral service for Mary Lou McBrown, 65, Plymouth, formerly of Anoka, took place Nov. 4 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel, Anoka. Deacon Dominic Ehrmentraut officiated.

McBrown died Oct. 31, 2004 at Methodist Hospital, Minneapolis. She was born May 3, 1939 in Anoka to Oliver Lawrence and Valarie Delores (O'Donnell) DeMars.

She is survived by her husband, Max McBrown; mother, Valarie Kolbe; sons, Brian (Carol), Quinten (Vicki), Kirk and Roarke Tuhkanen; grandchildren, Brandon, Brenia, Matthew, Sarah, Abby, Mallory, Emily, Pricilla and Ruth Tuhkanen; great-grandson, Nathan Gauthier; and brothers, Terry and Dennis DeMars and William Kolbe.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Tuhkanen; and sons, Douglas, Brendan and Shawn Tuhkanen.

Interment was at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.

Nancy Parker

Funeral service for Nancy J. Parker, 74, Blaine, took place Nov. 5 at Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids. Rev. Dale Christiansen officiated.

Parker died Nov. 1, 2004 in Blaine. She was born Dec. 18, 1929 in Dott, W.Va., to Samuel and Ada Thompson and was a retired laundry aide.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandy (Bob) Saby, Becky (Randy) Lorenzen, Joyce McFate and Bev (Deron) Heidecker; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister.

Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.

Louis Salmonson

Funeral service for Louis Allen Salmonson, 64, Coon Rapids, took place Nov. 3 at Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.

Salmonson died Oct. 28, 2004 in Minneapolis. He was born June 14, 1940 in Gaylord to Orville and Helen Salmonson and was an electrician.

He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca; sons, Louis and David; grandchildren; sisters, Winnie, Mabel, Millie and Patti; brothers, Raymond and Merlin; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Robert.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.

Jean Weidman

Funeral service for Jean D. Weidman, 63, Blaine, took place Nov. 4 at Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids. Rev. Dale Witherington officiated.

Weidman died Oct. 30, 2004 in Robbinsdale. She was born June 28, 1941 in Malta, Mont., to Howard and Dolores Pabst and was a retail sales manager.

She is survived by her husband, David; daughters, Sandra (Jeff Forbes) and Christine (William) Vesely; son, Mack; grandchildren, Bailey, Brad and Brett; mother-in-law, Mary Agnes; sister, Darlene Blossom; niece, Colleen; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Dolores Pabst.

Interment was private. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.

Marcia Blood

Funeral service for Marcella Blood, 70, Ham Lake, took place Nov. 13 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Oak Grove. Rev. Rick Banker officiated.

Blood died Nov. 10, 2004 at the Cambridge Health Care Center. She was born June 22, 1934 in Grenville, S.D., to Peter and Regina Pruszinkski. She was a member of the Isanti VFW Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Wallace of Ham Lake; children, Karen (Ken) Potts of Carver, Wayne (Carol) Blood of Isanti and Aaron (Wendy) Blood of East Bethel; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Marion Pruszinkski of Grenville, S.D.; sister, Louise Pruszinkski of Grenville, S.D.; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Martin; and an infant sister.

Pallbearers were Dustin, Mark and Martyn Blood, Steve Fredrickson, Collin King and Jeffrey Potts.

Interment was in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements were by Strike Funeral Home - Isanti Chapel.

Mary Bursaw

Funeral service for Mary C. Bursaw, 70, Coon Rapids, took place Nov. 9 at Gearhart Anoka Funeral Home. Rev. David Blume officiated.

Bursaw died Nov. 6, 2004 in Anoka. She was born Jan. 5, 1934 in Troy, Ohio, to Arthur Lafayette and Martha Schwartz and was a secretary for District 11 for 17 years.

She is survived by her husband, Steve (Kathy), LaVonne (Owen) and Bob (Mary); grandchildren, Steven and Michael, Marc, Sarah and Amanda, David and Katy; great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth; brother, Dick; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin; and parents, Arthur and Martha.

Interment was at Sunrise Cemetery, Sunrise. Arrangements were by Gearhart Anoka Funeral Home.

Thomas Daher

Thomas Daher, 82, Crystal, died Nov. 6, 2004.

A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Daher was the former owner of Mr. Day's Supper Club in Coon Rapids.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Peggy (Joe) Gibbons, Douglas (Kathy) Wolf, Linda (Al) Johnson, Kathy (Chip) Gorney, Tammy Daher, Tom (Annette) Listul-Daher, Liz (Steve) Kolar; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Ferris (Jeana) Daher; lifelong friend, Bill Migliaccio; special nephew, Dick Houck; and many other relatives and friends.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Royce Davis

Funeral service for Royce Elvin Davis, 68, Ramsey, took place Nov. 15 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel, Anoka. Rev. Mark Tiede officiated.

Davis died Nov. 12, 2004 at his home in Ramsey. He was born Oct. 2, 1936 in Minneapolis to Elmond Royce and Helen (Woodman) Davis. He was employed with the United States Postal Service for 35 years and retired as Anoka's postmaster.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; son, Craig; daughters, Chris and fiance Bruce, Cindy and husband James, Carla; granddaughter, Amber; brothers, Donald and wife Lou, Gary; sister, Shirley Ballard; many nieces and nephews; and friends and co-workers.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elmond 'Pete' Davis; mother, Helen; sister, Joyce; and close friend, Patrick Ward.

Interment was private. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Viola Dukowitz

Funeral service for Viola M. Dukowitz, 76, Coon Rapids, took place Nov. 12 at Church of the Epiphany, Coon Rapids.

Dukowitz died Nov. 7, 2004. She was born July 4, 1928 in Moran Township.

She is survived by her children, Wayne (Ivette), Sharon Pack (John), Gary (Brenda), Diane Otte (Rocky); grandchildren, Doug, Rob, Kim, Travis, Cory, Eric, Rocky, Kate and Britney; great-grandchildren, Abbey, Joey, Benjamin, Easton, Miken, SheyAnne and Emily; brothers and sisters, Richard Ziegler, Larry Ziegler (Linda), Barbara DeWald (Jim) and Robert Ziegler; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by husband, Joseph; mother, Gertrude Ziegler; and grandson, Jeremy.

Interment was at Epiphany Cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Sybil Felten

Funeral service for Sybil Lu Felten, 68, Ham Lake, took place Nov. 15 at Oak Haven Church, Ham Lake. Rev. Barry Valentine officiated.

Felten died Nov. 10, 2004 at her home in Ham Lake. She was born July 19, 1936 in Minneapolis to Andrew Vernon and Blanche Harriet (Schule) Pearson and was a secretary in Anoka-Hennepin School District 11.

She is survived by her son, Greg (Suzi) Fuller; daughter, Nancy (Kelly) Fradenburgh; grandson, Jessie Escalante; brothers, Darrell and Alan Pearson; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Marvin Fuller and Edward Felten.

Pallbearers were Christopher Pearson, Tom Flaig, LaVerne, Arnie and John Felten and Don Bostrom.

Interment was at Constance Cemetery, Andover. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

LeRoy Granstrom

Funeral service for LeRoy C. Granstrom, 61, Andover, took place Nov. 13 at Gearhart Anoka Funeral Home.

Granstrom died Nov. 6, 2004 in Coon Rapids. He was born Dec. 20, 1942 in Anoka to John Granstrom and Evelyn Iverson. He was self-employed in insurance and a longtime member of the Anoka Rotary Club.

He is survived by his wife, Lois; son, Eric (Andrea); daughter, Lynn (Charlie) Teff; grandchildren, Matthew, Leah and Max; brother, Richard (Julie); and sisters, Carolyn (Don) Hansen and Shirley (Ron) Hamilton.

Interment was private. Arrangements were by Gearhart Anoka Funeral Home.
