Richard Edward Wiltscheck, 83, of Minneapolis formerly of New Ulm, died Saturday at the VA Hospital in Minneapolis.
A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm. Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is handling the arrangements.
He was born May 7, 1916 in Arlington to Albert August and Ida Magdalene (Forster) Wiltscheck.
He is survived by his son, Douglas Allan Wiltscheck of Sheridan, Wyo.; grandchildren, Leif Allan Wiltscheck of St. Michael, Erik Allan Wiltscheck of Minneapolis, and Daegahan Allan Wiltscheck of Springfield, Mo.

Jerry Coulter, 59, of Hector, died September 11, 1999 at the Fairview University Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Eden Valley Church of God in Eden Valley with burial in the Old Eden Lake Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Hughes Funeral Home in Hector, and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Thomas R. Shaw, 81, of Gaylord died Sunday, September 12, 1999 at Arlington Community Hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Fenske Funeral Home in Gaylord and one hour prior to the service at the church.
He is survived by his wife LaVerna of Gaylord; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Theresa, Tim and Verla, Terry and Julianne Shaw, all of Gaylord, and Jim Shaw; sister Margaret Ayers of Mankato; step-daughter and her husband Beverly and Lee Jacobson of Gaylord; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; four step grandchildren, eight step-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews,other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one grandson, two half-sisters, one half brother.
He was born March 8, 1918 in Nicollet County to Jeremiah and Mary (Larentz) Shaw. He attended eight years of rural country school. He worked with the Army Engineers on the Alaskan Highway during WW.II. In 1949 he started his own business doing farm drainage and worked at that until 1982 when he retired. On March 6, 1966 he married LaVerna Braasch in Las Vegas, Nev.

Willard Willock, 88, of Madelia died September 12, 1999 at Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madelia with burial in Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 Tuesday at Pilgrim Funeral Home in Madelia and one hour prior to the service at the church.
He is survived by his wife LaVon; daughter Gloria Kusy and her husband Jerome of Jacksonville, N.C.; sons: Clarence of Madelia, Lyle of Burnsville and Daryl of Coon Rapids; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Waldo of Mason City, Iowa, Edmund of St. James.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son Willard Jr., and sister Annabel.
He was born July 29, 1911 in Madelia to Errol and Minnie (Shaw) Willock. He grew up in Madelia and attended school there. He married LaVon Bason of Dec. 9, 1939 in Madelia. They farmed in rural Madelia, and also lived in Anoka for 11 years. He retired in 1974 and they moved to Garrison for two years and then returned to Madelia. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he sang in the choir and served as usher. He was a member of Lutheran Brotherhood, the Farmer's Union and NFO. He also served on the Madelia Cremery Board for many years.

Brad Ewert, 44, of St. James died Sunday evening, September 12, 1999 at Immanuel-St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in St. James with burial in the St. Paul's portion of Mount Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30-9 a.m. Thursday at Sturm Funeral Home in St., James and one hour prior to the service at the church.
He is survived by his wife; daughter Jennifer and son Nathan, both of St. James; his parents; sister and brother-in-law Mary Jo and Roger Hagen; mother-in-law and father-in-law Merlin (Sonny) and Marjorie Reinke, all of St. James; brothers and sisters-in-law Yolanda and Steve Moeller of Hiwasse, Ark., Scott and Connie Reinke of Duluth,Cathy and Brian Carter of Ormsby, Jolene and Dan Frankamp, Steven Reinke of Minneapolis; aunts, uncles, neices and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
He was born Oct. 11, 1954 in Mountain Lake to James and Lois (Miller) Ewert. He attended and graduated from St. James High School in 1974, and spent a year in study at Jackson Vo-tech. He married Bernadine Reinke, Sept. 12, 1981 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in St. James. He worked at Olson Engineering, The Legion Club, Echols Elevator, Feder Plumbing and heating, and the Eagles Club. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Viola Armstrong, 85, of New Ulm died Sunday, September 12, 1999, at the St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm with burial to follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 -11:30 a.m. at the Firle Funeral Home in New Ulm, and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Fredric Gasow, 67, of Gaylord, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999, at the Glencoe Area Health Center.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at American Lutheran Church in Gaylord with burial in the Gaylord Municipal Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-11 a.m. at American Lutheran Church in Gaylord.
He is survived by his wife, Clarice of rural Gaylord; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Heidi Gasow of Hutchinson, Jerry and Cindy Gasow of Gaylord; daughters and son-in-law, Julie and Dale Meyer of Arlington and Dr. Shelly Gasow of Ventura, Calif.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorna and Gene Kelsay of Arvada, Colo., Audrey and Floyd Schultz of Henderson; nine grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was born April 7, 1932, in Sibley Township to Gerhart and Ardina (Halm) Gasow. He attended Sibley Township Elementary School and graduated from Gaylord High School in 1950. He married Clarice Schultz on June 6, 1954, at Centennial Lutheran Church in Henderson. He was a charter member of the American Lutheran Church in Gaylord and held various offices. He and his wife farmed in Sibley Township. He worked for the Gaylord school district for many years as a bus driver. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 34 years as a rural mail carrier. He retired in 1993.

Dorothy Jakes, 76, of Redwood Falls died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 1999, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls, with burial in the Bird Island City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and continues 8 a.m. until noon Friday at Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and one hour prior to the service at the church.
She is survived by her children, Gerald Jakes and wife Linda of Olivia, Eugene Jakes Sr. and wife Lyne of New Ulm, Judy Rosenau and husband Lloyd of Marshall, Gary Jakes and wife Kathy of New Ulm, Darlene Willhite and husband Miles of Hutchinson, June Hutchinson and husband Gerald of Redwood Falls, Bonnie Hoover and husband Morris of Redwood Falls, Nancy Steinbeisser and husband Alan of New Ulm, Kathy Steinbeisser and husband Richard of Olivia, Dean Jakes and wife Carol of Redwood Falls, Darrel Jakes and Terry Greenslit and husband Gary of Morton; 34 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Stacy Hutchinson in 1979; grandson,Chad Rosenau in 1992 and three brothers.
She was born June 17, 1923 west of Lake Lillian to William and Louise (Toltzman) Minkel. She attended country schools. On Feb. 28, 1942 she married Stanley H. Jakes in Renville. They lived in the Bird Island area. Stanley died on Nov. 25, 1972. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. She was a bingo volunteer for 17 years at the Olivia Health Care Center and also a member of the Olivia V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Gertrud Stoeckman, 84, of Green Isle, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999, at Arlington Good Samaritan Center.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Fenske Funeral Home in Arlington and will continue one hour before the service Friday at the church.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Diann Stoeckman of Eagan, Kenneth and Verlinda Stoeckman of Green Isle, Rollin and Beth Stoeckman of Green Isle, Bernard and Bonnie Stoeckman of Mayer, Allen Stoeckman of Appleton; daughter and son-in-law, Vivian and Orlin Meyer of Green Isle; brother and sisters-in-law, Walter and Marjorie Scheele of Hutchinson, Milda Scheele of Green Isle; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Malinda Stoeckman of Hamburg, Emma Voigt of Arlington; 22 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin F. Stoeckman on Nov. 23, 1979; brothers, Albert Scheele, Jr. and William Scheele; and sister Cordelia Templin.
She was born Sept. 8, 1915, in Washington Lake Township, Sibley County, to Albert and Elizabeth (Droege) Scheele. She married Edwin F. Stoeckman on March 28, 1937, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg. They farmed in Washington Lake Township. She was a longtime member of the Ladies Aid of Emanuel Lutheran Church and helped make quilts for Lutheran World Relief.

Valarious 'Val' Krenz, 75, of Long Lake, rural St. James, formerly of Waverly Township, rural Truman, died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 1999 at home.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Waverly Lutheran Church, rural Trimont, with burial in Waverly Lutheran Cemetery, rural Trimont.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday at Kramer Family Funeral Home, Trimont, and will continue Saturday one hour prior to services at the church.
He is survived by wife, Doris; daughters, Becky Ziemer and husband Gary of Hibbing, and Robin Carlson and husband Kermit of rural Trimont; son, Randy and wife Leann of Apple Valley; seven grandchildren; sisters, LaVee Quade and husband Jerry of Fairmont, Arlene Peters of Mankato, and Aralia Taylor and husband Dale of Chicago; brothers, Vernon and wife Eileen of Omaha, Neb., Larry and wife Joan of Cushing, and Ralph of Truman; sister-in-law, Jean Kahler of Madelia; brother-in-law, Lee Peterson and wife Mary of Truman; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lucille Brownlee; sister-in-law, Kathy Krenz; brothers-in-law, Bill Peters and Willis Kahler; and other relatives.
He was born Nov. 30, 1923, to Walter and Alvina (Wegner) Krenz, on a farm near Sanborn. He moved with his family to Oakes, N.D. in 1928 and to Truman in 1932. He graduated from Truman High School in 1941. During World War II, he worked as a welder on warships in California, and then returned to Truman. He was employed as a welder at Railway Motors in Fairmont for a few years after the war, then went into farming near Truman in Waverly, Westford and Long Lake townships. He married Doris Peterson on May 25, 1946, in rural Trimont. They farmed in Waverly Township. He picked corn for Stokely Van Camp Company in Fairmont before retiring to Long Lake in 1993. He was a member of Waverly Lutheran Church, rural Trimont, where he served on numerous boards until 1993, when he moved to Long Lake, where he was a member of Hosanna Free Lutheran Church. He was a board member of Ormsby Elevator.

Edward Rathman, 47, of Bingham Lake and formerly of St. James, died Sept. 13, 1999, at St. James.
Services are 4 p.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church with burial in the Calvary Cemetery in St. James.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30 a.m. to noon Friday at Sturm Funeral Home. There will be a CCW rosary at 4 p.m. and parish prayer service at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Visitation will continue from 1-4 p.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church.
He is survived by son, Edward A. Rathman, Jr. of Bingham Lake; daughte, Ann and husband Don Brandstedt of Windom; father, Sylvester Rathman of St. James; brothers and sisters, Gene and Lucille Rathman of Tallahasse, Fla., Phyllis and Francis Wagner of Ormsby, Raymond and Janette Rathman of St. James, Jim and Pat Rathman of St. James, Larry and Marion Rathman of St. James, Doug and Kathy Rathman of St. James, Don and Jeanne Rathman of Tulsa, Okla., Richard and Fay Rathman of Nissawa, Sylvester Jr. and Berdell Rathman of St. James, Paula and Conrad DeJong of Stewartville, and Marlene and Richard Fastenau of St. James.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; mother, Margie; brothers, David and John; and sister, Christine.
He was born on July 14, 1952, in St. James to Sylvester and Margie (Schiller) Rathman, Sr. He attended school in St. James. On Aug. 28, 1971 he married Cynthia Kay Ellanson in St. James.They lived in St. James. He worked as custodian for St. James Catholic Church for 15 years, at ST Industries for more than 10 years, and also for Dodge Camper Sales. He was a lifetime member of St. James Catholic Church and a former member of the St. James Fire Department and the Knights of Columbus.
