Erna K. Schmidt, 87, of Boynton Beach, Fla., died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Woodland Hills Chapel in Mankato.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Woodland Hills Funeral Home, 11605 Woodland Ave., Mankato; and continues one hour before services Saturday at the church.
She is survived by son Dennis Schmidt and wife Bea of Lantana, Fla.; daughters, Betty Craven and husband, Milton of Boynton, Fla.; Laura Erlandson of Mankato; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brother, Herman and wife Clara Schroeder of New Ulm; sister, Dorothy and husband Emery Tedrick of Everett, Wash..; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one brother, five sisters and one sin-in-law.
She was born April 11, 1912 in Fairfax to John T. and Lydia (Kaegbein) Schroeder. She grew up in the New Ulm area and moved to Mankato in 1950. While in Mankato she worked nine years for Brett's Department Store. In 1959 she moved to West Palm Beach, Fla., and worked for Burdeness. She retired in 1991.

Nellie Lundquist, 96, of Madelia, died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, at Madelia Community Hospital.
Services are 10:30 Saturday at Madelia United Methodist Church with burial in O'Brien County Liberty Township Cemetery in rural Calumet, Iowa.
Visitation is 3-7 p.m. Friday at Pilgrim Funeral Home in Madelia and also one hour prior to services at the church.
She is survived by sons, Veron and wife Mary Dean of Wilson, Wis., Jack and wife Shirley of Ontario, Calif., Kermit of Gary, S.D., and Ralph of Lake Park, Iowa; daughters, Rozella Hoch and husband Gaylon of Mesa, Ariz., LaVonne Breckenridge and husband William of Madelia, and Beverly Roush and husband Hiram of Chula Vista, Calif., 26 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; sister, Viola Ginger of Sutherland, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1999, six brothers, five sisters and two grandchildren.
She was born on April 12, 1903, in O'Brien County, Iowa, to Arandt and Emma (Schneekloth) Reimers. She grew up in rural Calumet, Iowa and attended rural school there. She married Clarence Lundquist on Oct. 22, 1924, on the family farm. They farmed in the area until 1935 when they moved to a farm in rural Lake Park, Iowa. They retired in 1975 but remained on the farm until moving into town in 1984. She moved to Madelia in 1997.

Vivian Johnson, 91, of New Sweden Township, rural St. Peter, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999m at Grandview Good Samaritan Center in St. Peter.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Scandian Grove Lutheran Church in rural St. Peter with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday and 7:30-9 a.m. Saturday at Egesdal Funeral Home in Gaylord, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
She is survived by daughter, Emilie Lokensgard; son, Charles Johnson, both of rural St. Peter; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Pehrson of Lafayette; brothers, Winton Larson of Deer River, Donald Larson of Rochester; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband, Harvey in 1973; son-in-law, Merlyn Lokensgard; grandson, Matthew Lokensgard; sisters, Hazel Bjorklund, Anna Bjorklund, Irene Allerson; brothers, Clayton Einer, Kermit Larson.
She was born Aug. 24, 1908, in New Sweden Township, Nicollet County to Jens and Emma (Webster) Larson. She graduated in 1926 from St. Peter High School and from St. Peter Teachers Training. She taught in rural schools in Nicollet County. She married Harvey L. Johnson on Aug. 8, 1937, at Scandian Grove Lutheran Church in Norseland, rural St. Peter. They farmed in New Sweden Township, Nicollet County. She was a lifelong member of Scandian Grove Lutheran Church, several ladies' organizations, and she taught Sunday School. She was also an adult 4-H leader and Cub Scout leader.

Clifford William Zangel, 76, of Houston, Texas, and formerly of New Ulm died Tuesday July 27, 1999 at his home in Houston, Texas.
Memorial service will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery, Soldier's Rest Section. Full military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the New Ulm veterans organizations.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the time of the service at the funeral homeon Friday.
He is survived by a sister, Myrtle Wolf of New Ulm; a brother and sister-in-law, Leo and Helen Zangl of New Ulm; nieces and nephews, Barb Wolf, Jean Eckstein, and Charles and Julie Zangl all of New Ulm, James Zangl and special friend Janna of St. Paul, Carol and John Aura of West St. Paul, Ruth and David Mecklenburg of Sleepy Eye, Marie and Mark Hippert of Owatonna, and Ann and Jeff Johnson of Savage.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Delbert Zangl on Oct. 1, 1994, and a niece, Dorothy Wolf.
Clifford was born Jan. 18, 1923 in New Ulm to Frank and Anna (Deml) Zangl. In 1943 he graduated from Holy Trinity High School in New Ulm.
He served in the United States Army from 1943 until 1946 serving in the South Pacific where he was wounded twice and received two purple hearts.
After service he worked for Nicklasson/Loose Athletic Department in New Ulm until 1953 when he moved to South St. Paul and worked for the Armour Meat Packing Company
He was transfered to Houston, Texas in the early 1970's working there until he retired. After retiring from Armour he started his own cleaning and janitorial business in Houston working there for several years.
He was a member of the Siefert-Bianchi American Legion Post #132 in New Ulm and also other various service clubs and organizations.

John E. Hansvick, 81, died Friday, July 30, 1999 at Bethesda Pleasant View Home, Willmar.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church, Redwood Falls, with burial in the Vesta City Cemetery, followed by a lunch and reception at Vesta Community Center.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Sunset Funeral Home, Echo, and will continue one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
He is survived by his wife Dotti; daughter Christine and husband Brian Harron of Kent, Wash.; sons, David and wife Ann of Marshall and Vern and wife Judy of Litchfield; eight grandchildren; a brother Floyd and wife Helma of Belview; sisters, Margaret Marks of Marshall, Idella Bunge of Sacramento, Calif. and Mabelle Stoll and husband Emil of Fallbrook, Calif.; sisters-in-law, Kathy Hansvick of Minneapolis and Eloise Foley of Sacramento; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Robert, William and Lawrence.
He was born Sept. 16, 1917 in Vesta Township, Redwood County, to Elias E. and Maggie Lind Hasvick. He graduated as valedictorian from Belview High School in 1935, served as pharmacists' mate in the U.S. Navy during World War II, then attended the University of Minnesota for a year and then the Minnesota School of Business. He married Delphine "Dotti" Penske on June 5, 1948 in Vesta. Following their marriage they settled in Vesta where he was self-employed as the Standard Oil agent and then, following his retirement, helped establish the Petroleum Division for the Vesta Farmers Elevator. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Redwood Falls, the Echo Masonic Lodge, the Vesta American Legion Post, had served on the Vesta Volunteer Fire Department and had served as secretary of the Sunset Burial Association and the Vesta Commercial Club.

May A. Novak, 82, died Friday, July 30, 1999 at Divine Providence Health Care Center, Ivanhoe.
Mass of Christian burial will be 5 p.m. Thursday at the Church of St. Michael, Milroy, with burial of her cremated remains in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 3:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday at the church, followed by a Parish prayer service and rosary at 4:30 p.m.
The Sunset Funeral Home, Echo, is handling the arrangements.
She is survived by son Dennis and wife Vickie of Hastings; daughters, Sandi Bierbrauer and husband Don of Hastings, Cheri Blomme and husband Maurice Jr. of Marshall and Jodi Kesteloot and husband Tom of Marshall; grandchildren, Kristopher and Angela Novak, Jeffrey and wife Terina, and Jason Bierbrauer, Neil and Beau Schlemmer, and Travis and Amy Kesteloot; step-grandchildren, Summer, Sarah, Joey and Shelby Blomme; great-grandson Matthew Bierbrauer; sister Dora Anderson of Minneota; two sisters-in-law, Vivian Knutson of Minneota and Florence Novak of Villard.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; great-grandson Jordan Schlemmer; brother Sidney; and sisters Grace Rafnson and Mabel Johnson.
May Anna (Knutson) Novak was born Nov. 15, 1916 in Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, to Swen and Mary (Olson) Knutson. She grew up in Swede Prairie Township, where she attended Country School District No. 90. She married John Novak on Nov. 30, 1940 in Milroy. They lived on a farm in Westline Township near Milroy. John died Sept. 7, 1997. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and the C.C.W.

Clara Sveine, 81, formerly of St. James, died Saturday at Oak Hills Living Center.
Servics will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Albion Lutheran Church, rural St. James, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sturm Funeral Home, St. James, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
She is survived by her husband Gordon of St. James; daughters, Kay and husband Richard Kamish of Inver Grove Heights, Fay and husband Kenneth Jukulen of St. James, and LeAnn Cargil of St. James; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother Ozwald Shellum of California.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son Cleon.
She was born Sept. 7, 1917 in Riverside Township, Watonwan County, to Ole and Gunhild (Stein) Shellum. She received her education in District 43 school, then lived with her aunt and uncle in Nelson Township. She married Gordon Sveine on Sept. 14, 1940 in Nelson Township. They lived in St. James for a short time then moved to a farm in Nelson Township for 20 years before moving back into St. James. She suffered from Alzheimer's disease for the past 12 years and was a resident at Oak Hills Living Center. She was a member of Albion Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid.

Agnes Voeltz, 80, of Nicollet died Sunday, Aug. 1, 1999 at the Mankato House Health Care Center in Mankato.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet with burial in the church cemetery rural Nicollet.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Nicollet and then will continue on Wednesday for one hour prior to time of service at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Harold, a resident at the Mankato House Health Care Center in Mankato a son and daughter-in-law Larry and Mary Voeltz of Nicollet grandsons Alan Voeltz of St. Peter, Daniel Voeltz of Nicollet, and Christopher Voeltz of St. Peter, a great grandson Aaron Voeltz of St. Peter, a sister and brother-in-law Verona and Bill Wilking of North Mankato sisters-in-law Shirlee Enter of Nicollet and Frieda Gregory of Milwaukee, Wisconsin a brother-in-law Richard Smith of Westminster, Calif., one aunt, one uncle, and by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents a daughter Beverly Voeltz on Dec. 30, 1987 a sister Mildred Smith a brother Lawrence Enter and a great granddaughter.
She was born Nov. 19, 1918 in Granby Township, Nicollet County to Frank and Pauline (Poehler) Enter. She married Harold Voeltz on June 15, 1937 at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet. After marriage they lived in Nicollet where she had done babysitting at her home for 40 years. She was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet, a member of the Ladies Guild at the church, and a member of the American Legion Auxillary Post #510 in Nicollet. She enjoyed spending time with her family, knitting, crocheting, babysitting, and fishing. She had been a resident of the nursing home for the past 3 1/2 years.

Wilbert H. Buck, 58 of Arlington died Saturday, July 31, 1999 at his home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ at Henderson, with burial at Brown Cemetery, Henderson.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at the Fenske Funeral Home in Arlington, and at the church Tuesday one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Buck of Arlington sons, David and wife Michelle Buck of Arlington, Daniel and wife Sara Buck of Gaylord, and Darrin Buck and fiancee Jane Harder of LeSueur; three grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Adeline Schouviller of Henderson, Evelyn and Monroe Tiegs of Henderson, Darlene and Allen Weckwerth of Arlington, Carol and Lyle Jaster of St. Peter, LaVerne and Mick Almquist of Henderson, Janet and Steve Havemeier of Nicollet, andVal and Lyle Thompson of Nicollet brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter Buck of Henderson, Richard and Cindy Buck of Massachusetts, and Carol Reiter of Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents brothers-in-law, Orin Schouviller and Robert Reiter, and parents-in-law, Alvin and Ruth Reiter, and niece Krystal Jaster.
He was born May 10, 1941 in Green Isle Township, Sibley County to Ernest and Regina (Brockoff) Buck. He was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War serving from 1964-1966. On Sept. 9, 1967 he married Ruth Ann Reiter at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Henderson. He was employed as a welder for 40 years, first at Farmhand in Green Isle, and then up to his present illness at Waconia Manufacturing in Waconia.

Agnes Clobes, age 84, of Alexandria, formerly of Fairfax, died Friday, July 30, 1999, at the Bethany Home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church in Fairfax, with interment in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Cairo Township, Renville County.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at the Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax, and one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.
She is survived by sons, Franklin and wife Mary Clobes of Springfield, Mo., George and wife Karolee Clobes of Hutchinson, Kan., Howard and wife Carol Clobes of Fairfax, Arnold and wife Carol Clobes of Livermore, Calif., Armin and wife Juanita Clobes of Racine, Wis., Loren and wife Michal Clobes of Fairfax, Don and wife Sue Clobes of Alexandria a daughter, Lila and husband Robert Panek of Manistique, Mich., 24 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, Brothers, Duain Swenson of Le Sueur, Bill Volk of Sulphur Springs, Texas a sister-in-law, Mabel Clobes, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold brothers, Reuben and Chester a sister, Myrtle Odegard and her sister-in-law, Edna Brunner.
She was born Aug. 12, 1914, in Nicollet County, the daughter of August A. and Augusta W. (Schmidt) Volk. She attended schools in Echo, Brownton, and Gibbon.
She married Harold Clobes on July 29, 1933 in Fairfax. Following their marriage, Agnes and Harold resided in New Ulm, Marshall, Wadena, and later moved to the family farm near Fairfax. Agnes spent her life as a mother and homemaker. She was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church In Fairfax.
