Father Urban Neudecker, 81, of Sherburn died July 15, 1999 at St. Elizabeth Care Center in Wabasha.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Sherburn with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday at St.Luke's Catholic Church in Sherburn. There will be a Holy Rosary at 5 p.m. and a Scriptural Wake at 7 p.m. at the church. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to Mass on Monday.
He is survived by a sister-in-law, Lorraine Neudecker of Fresno, Calif.; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, three brothers, Fr. Leo Neudecker, Mark and Joseph, and a sister Ann Brossard.
He was born May 24, 1918 to Michael and Dora (Altermatt) Neudecker in Albert Lea. He was a 1935 graduate of Albert Lea High School where he was class president. He attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis for two years before going to St. John's University at Collegeville. He then spent six years at St. Paul Seminary in St. Paul and was ordained a Priest in 1945. He served several parishes throughout the Diocese of Winona. His first assignment was at Sacred Heart of Owatonna in 1945, to to Queen of Angels in Austin in 1948 where he taught Christian Ideals and pricipals. Father then served St. Rose's in Avoca and then St.Mary's in Geneve/St. Aiden's in Ellendale in 1951. In 1961 he served for a brief time as chaplain at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. In 1962 he served at St. Luke's in Sherburn, then to St. James Catholic Church in St. James in 1970. In 1970 he served Sacred Heart in Heron Lake and later in 1983 served the Church of the Good Shepherd in Jackson until his retirement in 1994. His retirement was spent in the Rectory at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Sherburn. He served as the Boy Scout Chaplain for the southwest Minnesota area and as Moderator for the Winona Diocesan Council of the Catholic Women from 1961-95. He also served as Rural Life Advisor in 1945.

Gretchen E. Huebsch, 81, of St. James, died Thursday, July 15, 1999 in Mountain Lake.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Butterfield with burial in Decoria Township Cemetery, rural Mankato, at 1:45 p.m.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-8 a.m. on Monday at the Sturm Funeral Home in St. James.
She is survived by her daughter, Helen Christensen of Greenville, Texas; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Dick Strenge and wife, Norma of Cambria, Calvin Strenge of Windom, Lawrence Strenge and wife, Grace of Odin and John Strenge and wife Loris of St. James; sisters, Josephine Penner of Windom, Evangeline Harder of Moutain Lake, Florence and husband, Donald Snook of Ironton and Annabelle Olson of Mountain Lake; and many nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gustav, in 1985; brothers, George and Eilert; sisters, Dena and Margaret; a son-in-law, Terry Christensen; a sister-in-law, Myrtle Strenge; brothers-in-law, Leland Olson and Diedrich Harder; three nieces, and her parents.
She was raised in Amboy Township, Cottonwood County, where she received her education in District Schools. On Jan. 27, 1937, she married Gustav Ernst Huebsch in Mountain Lake. The couple made their home and farmed in Jackson County until 1947. They lived and farmed in Bingham Lake, Comfrey, Mountain Lake and Butterfield areas.
While living in Mountain Lake, she worked at the local creamery and while in Butterfield, she worked for Butterfield Produce. She and Gustav later moved to St. James where she was employed at Scherr-Tumcio until retirement. She was a member of St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Butterfield and she was also a member of the Butterfield VFW Auxiliary. She was a Grey Ladies volunteer at Pleasant View Care Center and a former advisory board director for Citizens State Bank Senior Partners and was past recipient of Watonwan County's Outstanding Senior Citizens award.

Roman F. Fischer, 89, of 715 South German, Ridgeway on German in New Ulm,
formerly of Lafayette, died Monday July 19, 1999 at the New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday at
St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church in Lafayette with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be for two hours prior to the time of the service at the church on Thursday. Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is in charge of the arrangements.
Roman is survived by his sisters, Gertrude Forst, and Agnes Weiland both of New Ulm.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Elvera, on Aug. 3, 1993; a sister Rose Speiss; and brothers, Ferdinand and Stanley Fischer.
Roman was born June 17, 1910, in Lafayette Township, Nicollet County, to Charles and Mary (Matsch) Fischer. He attended District #53 Country School in Lafayette Township, and St. George Catholic School in St. George. He married Elvera Steffen on April 27, 1948 at St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church in Lafayette. After marriage they farmed his family farm in Lafayette Township, Nicollet County until retiring in 1969, when they moved into Lafayette. He was a member of the St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church in Lafayette and the Catholic Order of Foresters.

Brian "Buck" Harnack, 37, of Lamberton died July 18, 1999 at the Springfield Medical Center in Springfield.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton with burial in the Lamberton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Kim; daughters Chelsi and Sammie; parents Darlo and Judie Harnack of Revere; a brother Jeff and wife Sandy of Revere; maternal grandmother Doris (Nelson) Triplett of Tracy; parents-in-law Ron and Judy Pullman of Marshall; brothers-in-law Rick Pullman of Milroy, Stacy and Chad Pullman, both of Marshall and Jamie and his wife Michelle Pullman of Balaton; one niece, two nephews; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceeded in death by his maternal grandfather and paternal grandparents.
He was born March 1, 1962 in Westbrook to Darlo and Judie (Nelson) Harnack. He was baptized at Sharon Lutheran Church, and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton. He grew up on the family farm west of Revere and graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1980 and worked at Revere Farmers Elevator. On Feb. 28, 1987 he married Kim Pullman at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton. The couple made their home on a farm south of Revere where Brian farmed and raised calves. Brian also worked for Farmer's Livestock. In 1996 the family moved to Lamberton and a few months ago Brian took a job with Plaas, Inc. in Marshall.
He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton.

Bertha Erickson, 83, of Redwood Falls, died Monday, July 19, 1999, at home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pipestone, with burial in New Woodlawn Cemetery, Pipestone.
Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Thursday at Nelson Funeral Home, Redwood Falls, and will continue Friday one hour prior to services at the church.
She is survived by her children, Harry and wife Milly of Minneapolis, Darrell of Brookings, S.D., Evelyn Erickson, Gail Werner, and Denise Dahms and husband Lenny, all of Redwood Falls; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Almeda Krueger of Wessington Springs, S.D., Joyce LaBarbera of Chicago, Ill. and Marilyn White and husband George of Broadview, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, son Norman in 1997, one brother and four sisters.
She was born May 14, 1916 in Abbotsford, Wis., to Herman and Almeda (Lott) Witt. She resided with her family in Abbotsford during her childhood. They later moved to Letcher, S.D. and then to Woonsocket, S.D. She attended schools in Woonsocket, graduating in 1934. She married Harry A. Erickson on April 3, 1938 in Woonsocket. After their marriage they worked on a farm in the Pipestone area. In 1945, they moved to Vallejo, Calif. and moved back to Woonsocket in 1953. In 1956 they moved to Pipestone. Harry died Sept. 9, 1964.
She was a clerk at Ben Franklin in Pipestone for 13 years, retiring in 1976. She resided in Pipestone until 1993 when she moved to Redwood Falls. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pipestone. She was a member of Walther League during high school and an active member of WGA until she moved to Redwood Falls in 1993. She attended Adult Day Services in Redwood Falls from 1997-1999.

Elnora Liebl, 80, of Clements, died Tuesday, July 20, 1999 at the Sunwood Good Samaritan Care Center in Redwood Falls.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls, with burial in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
Elnora is survived by her friends and neighbors and was preceded in death by her parents, husband Matthew and brother Marvin.
She was born Oct. 24, 1918 in Three Lakes Township, Redwood County, the daughter of Emil and Ida Stricken She grew up in rural Clements and received her education from country school. On Aug. 10, 1946 she married Matthew Liebl in Redwood Falls. They made their home in rural Clements where Elnora was a homemaker. Matthew died on May 30, 1988. Elnora moved to the Sunwood Good Samaritan Center in October 1998. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Clements until 1998 and then became a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Springfield.

Hildegard Zitzman, 84, of 917 North Jefferson in New Ulm, died Tuesday, July 20, 1999 at her home in New Ulm. Arrangements are pending with Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.Anna PedersonLAMBERTON -- Anna Katherine Pederson, 86, of Lamberton, died Tuesday, July 20, 1999, at Springfield Medical Center.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Highwater Lutheran Church, rural Lamberton, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Saturday at Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton, and will continue Saturday one hour prior to services at the church.
She is survived by her children, Alvin of Lamberton, James and wife Jackie of Plainview, Shirley and husband Lloyd Knakmuhs of Lamberton, Ken and wife Becky of Willmar, Darrell of Minneapolis, David and wife Nancy of Fairmont, Richard and wife Mary of Blomkest, Roger and wife Jo of New York Mills, Phillip of Watertown, S.D., and Marie and husband Harold Hutchinson of Revere; 33 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; a brother John Hoffrogge of Bakersfield, Calif.; sisters, Lena and husband Wilbert Dehne of Lamberton, Helka Gunder of Windom, Marie and husband Shirley Flesner of Tracy, Minnie and husband Glen Kronback of Lamberton, Margaret and husband Spencer Flesner of Phoenix, Ariz., and Elfreida and husband Luverne Carlson of Garvin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Oscar in 1969; brothers, Remer, Herman, Henry and Willie; two sisters in infancy; a daughter-in-law Connie Pederson; and great-granddaughter Emily Hartle.
She was born April 20, 1913 in Calhoun County, Iowa to Wilhelm and Johanne (Deling) Hoffrogge. She moved with her family to the Revere area in 1918 and received her education in Revere. She married Oscar Pederson on Jan. 8, 1934 in Redwood Falls. The couple lived and farmed in Highwater Township, moving into Lamberton in 1960. In 1994, she became a resident of Valley View Manor in Lamberton. She had worked at the Pietrus Processing Plant, cooked at the Windom Cafe and Phil's Cafe in Lamberton, and volunteered at Valley View Manor for several years. She was a member of Highwater Lutheran Church, WELCA, sewing circle, where she was known as the quilt lady, and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Verdina K. Johnson, 86 of Franklin died Tuesday, July 20, 1999 at The Franklin Health Care Center in Franklin.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sleepy Eye with burial in the Prairieville Cemetery in Evan.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and 8:30-11:30 a.m. Friday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
She is survived by brothers Christ and his wife Violet Johnson of Buffalo Lake, Wilbert Johnson of Sleepy Eye; Lester and his wife Marian Johnson of Sleepy Eye; sisters Mathilda Johnson of Sleepy Eye and Eleanor Buche of Sleepy Eye; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was born Oct. 3, 1912 in Pairieville Twp, Brown County, to Rudolph and Sarah ;Marie (Hansen) Johnson. She grew up and attended country school in Prairieville Twp. After her schooling she lived and worked on the family farm north of Sleepy Eye for many years. She also worked at DelMonte food and the Sleepy Eye Municipal Hospital. Verdina moved to the Sleepy Eye Care Center for a short time and later make her home at the Franklin Health Care Center for the last few years. She was a life long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye.

Hildegard H. Zitzman, 83 of New Ulm died Tuesday, July 20, 1999 at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-9:30 Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. Christian Mothers Society will pray a rosary at 4 p.m. today at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. The St. George Catholic Aid Society will pray the Rosary at 6 p.m. and there will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m., both at the Funeral Home.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jerome and Lenora Zitzman of New Ulm; three grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Edward and Lorraine Bushard, Cornelius and Julia Zitzmann all of New Ulm, William Roeck of Hutchinson, and Alice Schwab of New Ulm.
She was preceeded in death by her husband in February, 1999; sister, Gertrude Schwab in infancy, and a brother George Schwab.
She was born Aug. 17, 1915 in New Ulm to George, Sr. and Mary (Matsch) Schwab. She attended Holy Trinity Grade School in New Ulm and Good Counsel Academy in Mankato. She married Albert Zitzman Nov. 16, 1937 at St. George Catholic Church in St. George. After their marriage they farmed together in the St. George area until retiring and moving to New Ulm in 1974. She was a member of the Christian Mothers Society, St. George Catholic Aid Society and the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm.

Walter H. Harder, 70 of Bingham Lake died July 19, 1999 at his rural Bingham Lake home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake, with burial in the Mountain Lake Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. tonight at the Eifert Funeral Home in Mountain Lake, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Betty) Harder of Bingham Lake; daughters Carol Harder of South St. Paul, Sharon Harder of Goshen, Ind., Marlene Harder Horst and her husband Rene' of Lewiston, Maine; two grandchildren; sisters Berthan and her husband Robert Johnson of Woodburn, Ore., Erna Johnson of Darfur, and Florence and her husband Gary Dunker of Mountain Lake; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceeded in death by brother, Arnold in infancy and brother-in-law, Donald Johnson.
He was born June 25, 1929 to Henry H. and Anna H. (Baerg) Harder in Watonwan County. He received his eduction at Cottonwood County District 16 north country school. He married Elizageth Quiring March 9, 1957 in Mountain Lake. The made their home and farmed together in Carson Township, Cottonwood County. He retired from farming in 1993. He was a life long member of the First Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake where he served as usher and trustee. He also worked with the Mennonite Disaster Service and the Mennonite Central Committee. He was Carson Township Supervisor for 18 years.
