Alma M. Olson, 88, died Wednesday, July 21, 1999 at Springfield Medical center.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Valleyview apartments' Social Room in Lamberton. Burial will be at Old Westbrook Cemetery, rural Westbrook.
Arrangements were handled by Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton.
She is survived by a sister Hilda Enstad of Valley View Manor, Lamberton; a brother Oscar and wife Vernette Olson of Storden; and 11 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Carl and Ole Olson; and sisters, Ragna Hendrickson, Olga Martens, Selma Knell and Esther Hert.
She was born Nov. 13, 1910 in Storden Township, Cottonwood County, to Kjetil and Ragnhild (Haugen) Olson. She grew up on the family farm and attended rural school District 30. She moved to Minneapolis and worked at Brown and Bigelow Company for many years. She was a member of Central Lutheran Church in Minneapolis and volunteered for many church activities. In 1992 she moved to Lamberton and joined Old Westbrook Church.

Kathryn A. Schreckenbert, 68 of Faribault died Tuesday, July 20, 1999 at the St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at First English Lutheran Church in Faribault with burial in the Meadow ridge Memorial Park in Faribault.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. tonight at the Boldt Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the chruch.
She is survived by her husband; children: Cynthia Kubes of Faribault, Bruce Schreckenberg of New Ulm, Todd Schreckenberg of Faribault, Paula and her husband Jerry Schauer of Faribault, Bobbi Schreckenberg of Faribault, Andrea Schreckenberg of Northfield, and Melissa and her husband Dana Thompson of Faribault; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; sisters Phyllis and her husband Kenneth Ayd of St. Paul and Beverly rouse of Leisure City, Fla.
She was preceeded in death by her parents; brother James Fazier and sisters Elaine Frazier and Viola Mortensen.
She was born Oct. 16, 1930 to Jess and Kathryn Ida (Backlund) Frazier in St. Paul. She graduated from Humboldt High School in St. Paul in 1948. On Oct. 23, 1948 she married Frank Edmund Schreckenberg in West St. Paul. They lived briefly in West St. Paul and Owatonna and then moved to Faribault in 1950 where they founded Minnesota Maintenance Power Equipment. She was active in the Mrs. Jaycees orgaization. She was a long time member of First English Lutheran Church, being actively involved in many committees over the years. She was a long time advocate for the rights and protection of mentally handicapped children and adults. This brought her to be an ARC member; a member of the Volunteer Council at the Faribault Regional Center and a volunteer at the Activity Center teaching religion to the mentally handicapped.

Russell Peris, 61 of Hector died July 21, 1999 at the Renville County Hospital in Olivia.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hector with burial in the Hector City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at the Hughes Funeral Home in Hector, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
He is survived by his wife; sons Brock and Bryan Peris of Hector; mother Mabel Peris of Hector; sister Elaine Dummer of Kenyon; father-in-law Stanley Swanson of Hector; brother-in-law Dwight Swanson of Hector; nieces and nephews.
He was preceeded in death by his father and his mother-in-law, Opal Swanson.
He was born Aug. 2, 1937 in Melville Township, Renville County, to Paul and Mabel (Barnick) Peris. He grew up in Melville Twp. and graduated from Hector High School. He served in the Minnesota National Guard.
He married Kathryn Swanson July 12, 1969 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hector. After their marriage they made their home in Palmyra Township where they farmed together. He served on the St. Paul Lutheran Church Board.

James Boutwel, 77 of Madelia died July 22, 1999 at Immanuel-St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Madelia Church of Christ with burial in the Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the Pilgrim Funeral Home in Madelia and one hour prior to the service at the church.
He is survived by his wife; daughters Leann and her husband Dan Schrader of Truman, Barbara and her husband Steve Henry of Cheyenne, Wyo.; sons Glen and wife Katherine of Madelia, Dale and wife Anna of Warrensburg, Mo., and Neal of Madelia; seven grandchildren, and sister Margaret and her husband Norm Miller of Rock Spring, Wis.
He was preceeded in death by his parents and a brother.
He was born Aug. 15, 1921 to Elgin and Francis (Hoaglund) Boutwell in Kasota Township, Le Sueur county. He grew up on the family farm, attended country schools and graduated from Kasota High School. He served in the United States Army during WWII in the European Theater, 1942-1945. He married Ada Misner Nov. 20, 1955 in Mankato. They lived in New Ulm, then for 30 years in rural Hanska, and since 1987 in Madelia. He worked 28 years for Kraft Foods and also farmed. He retired in 1983. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Madelia and is a former member of the VFW in Hanska.

Orda P. Anderson, 91 of Evan died Thursday, July 22, 1999 in Fairmont.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Evan with burial in the Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-8:30 at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye and one hour prior to the service at the church.
She is survived by her children, Audrey Riebel of Burnsville, Victor and wife Evie Anderson of Fairmont; daughter-in-law Donna Anderson of Even, 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Bernice Hanson of Fairfax, Irvin Larson of Minneapolis, Inga LaDue of Billings, Palms (Polly) and Harlan Sievertson of St. Louis Park; nieces and nephews.
She was preceeded in death by her husband in 1989; sons James in 1957 and LeRoy in 1999; grandson Daniel Riebel in 1982; son-in-law Charles Riebelk in 1973; brothers, Manfred and Stanley.
She was born April 20, 1908 in Fairfax to Pedar and Olena (Boyum) Larson. She grew up and attended country school near Fairfax. She worked as a nanny in White Bear Lake, Detroit, Mich., and later in Fairfax. She married Lloyd Anderson Aug. 20, 1932 in Minneapolis. The couple made their home in Franklin and Winnebago before moving to Evan in 1941. She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Evan where she was active in WELCA.

Father Richard Jerome Riordan, 75, of St. James, died Thursday July 22, 1999, at St. Elizabeth's Nursing home in Wabasha.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday in the St. James Catholic Church, St. James. A parish prayer service will be held 7 p.m. Sunday at the church. Burial will be held at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, in Windom. Military graveside honors will be presented by the St. James American Legion Post No. 33 and VFW Post No. 1914.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 9:30-10:15 a.m. Monday at the St. James Catholic Church in St. James.
He is survived by brother, Vincent Riorden, of Windom; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
He was born Feb. 9, 1924, to Edward and Bertha (Lauck) Riordan in Windom. He attended public school in Windom and graduated from St. Mary's College with a BA degree.
He received his seminary training at Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary in Winona and at St. John's in Collegeville. He was ordained on May 31, 1960 at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart with Bishop Edward Fitzgerald officiating.
His career as a priest spanned 36 years and included appointments in the following areas: Jackson, Albert Lea, St. James, Rochester, Millville, Lanesboro, Wykoff, and Windom.
He also served in the Army in 1944 and 1945 during WW II. He retired as a priest in May of 1996.

Marilynn Riebel, the "Mari" of the Marimel Greenhouse in LeSueur which has supplied the flowers for Heritagefest, died Tuesday in Abbot Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. She was 60 years old.
The flowers hanging from pots and sprouting from tubs along the ground give the festgrounds that festive look. And for years, they have been supplied by Marimel Greenhouse of LeSueur, owned by Marilynn and Melvin Riebel.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Henry Catholic Church in rural LeSueur County. Visitation was held Friday in the Marimel Greenhouse Chapel which she and her husband Melvin built at their nursery, among the flowers she loved.
Mrs. Riebel was born Sept. 27, 1938, in Le Sueur County. She graduated from Le Center High School, and attended nurses training at St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato. She married Melvin Riebel on Oct. 1, 1957, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in LeCenter, and they spent their married life running the greenhouse together.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin, of LeSueur, four sons and one daughter, 13 grandchildren, four brothers and one sister.
Le Center Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Emil Wallner, 96 of Buffalo Lake died Friday, July 24, 1999 at the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are through Hughes Funeral Home in Hector.

Leonard E. Anderson, 84, of Trimont, died Saturday July 24, 1999 at the Lutheran Retirement home in Truman.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Trimont with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in rural Trimont.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Kramer Family Funeral Home in Trimont and one hour prior to the service at the church.
He is survived by daughter Virginia Carlson and her husband Dennis of rural Trimont; sons, Douglas Anderson of rural Trimont, Bradley Anderson and his wife, Chris of rural Jackson and Bruce Anderson of rural Trimont; six grandchildren; brothers, Walter Anderson and his wife, Hilder of Rochester and Marvin Anderson of rural Trimont; sisters, Ellen Bernhardt, Mildred Ebeling, Theresia Anderson, all of Trimont, Ruth Schafer of rural Trimont, LaVerne Honnette and her husband, Melvin of Sherburn and Arlene Larson of Sherburn; sisters-in-law, Shirley Master and her husband, Ralph of Monroe, Iowa, Arlis Curtis and her husband, George of New Ulm, Evelyn Smith of Napa, California; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Iva Anderson in 1998; sister, Edith Nielson.
He was born Oct. 7, 1914 to Andrew and Eva (Lindell) Anderson on the family farm in Cedar Township, Martin County. He received his education in rural school in Cedar. On Jan. 6, 1954 he married Iva Smith at the Baptist Church in Jackson. After their marriage they farmed in Cedar and rural Trimont until 1987 when they moved to Trimont. Anderson became a resident of Lutheran Retirement home in 1999. He attended the Evangelical Covenant Church.

Glenn G. Bohnen, 69, of Sleepy Eye died Saturday, July 24, 1999 at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye with burial in Home Cemetery, Sleepy Eye, with full military honors.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Mary of New Ulm; daughters, Brenda and her husband Jim Guldan of New Ulm, Maureen Bohnen of Sleepy Eye, Sheila and her husband John Ortlip of Hutchinson, Bridget Fischer of New Ulm; sons, Tim Bohnen and special friend Sharon Jones of Waseca, Kevin Bohnen and wife ReNaye of Buffalo Lake, Pat Bohnen and wife Missy of Sleepy Eye; sister, Phyllis Bohnen of Sleepy Eye; and nine grandchildren, Erin, Meghan and Kaitlyn Guldan, Cristin and Corey Bohnen, Jacob and Shawn Bohnen, Joshua Glenn Bohnen-Fischer and Kya Rae Fischer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eugene; and sister, Hazel, both in infancy.
He was born on April 27, 1930 near Bongaards, Minn., to Oscar and Rose (Beckfield) Bohnen. He graduated from high school in Minneapolis. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1950, serving in Korea. He married Mary Callahan on July 31, 1954 at the Westover Air Force Base in Massachusetts. He was discharged August 1954 and moved to Minneapolis for a short time.
They moved to Sleepy Eye where he worked for the Sleepy Eye Telephone Company from 1954 until he retired in 1992 as the plant manager.

Esther Wojahn, 72, of Sleepy Eye died Thursday, July 22, 1999, at her home.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Albion Lutheran Church in rural St. James with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Pease Funeral Home in St. James and continues one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
She is survived by daughter, Beth Wojahn of Bloomington; son, Eric Wojahn of Booneville, N.Y. and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband on March 12, 1982; sisters, Maria and Sara; and brothers, Alfred and Scott.
She was born June 10, 1927, at Ludington,, Mich. to the Rev. J. L. and Carrie (Rasmussen) Dixen. She graduated from high school in Withee, Wis. She attended Grandview College in Des Moines, Iowa and was a graduate of Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. She married to Carl Wojahn on Jan. 4, 1954 in Minneapolis. They lived in several areas of the country while her husband served in the Navy. In 1972 they moved to rural Comfrey. She was employed as a secretary at Pietrus Foods in Sleepy Eye. She also served as a church organist in Georgia and California and East and West Sveadahl Lutheran churches in rural St. James for over 25 years. She had also served as choir director at the two churches. She was a member of the Albion Lutheran Church in rural St. James. She moved to an apartment in Sleepy Eye following her husband's death.
