Eugene Elliott, 72, of Tracy died Friday, July 23, 1999, at the Tracing Nursing Home.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Tracy United Methodist Church with burial in the Tracy City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. and continues one hour before services Tuesday at the church.
He is survived by daughters and their husbands, Judy and David Stabell of New Ulm, Sharon and John Meyer of Tracy; sons and their wives, Chuck and Sharon Elliott of Prior Lake, Kenneth and Julie Elliott of Owatonna, Michael and Glenis Elliott of Granite Falls; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother and his wife, Wayne and Lois Elliott of Shakopee; sisters, Elsie and Gene Kruse of Des Moines, Iowa, Anna Frahm of Mankato and Irene Erickson of Florence; sister-in-law, Lois Elliott of Tracy; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by His parents, wife, and a brother.
He was born July 31, 1926 at Tracy, Minnesota to Robert Percy and Stella (Doyle) Elliott. He graduated from Tracy High School in 1944. After graduation, he worked on a farm near Marshall. In 1945, he married Marjorie Guimond. They lived on the Blake Nehls farm near Tracy. In 1947, they moved to a farm in Shetek township in Murray County where they resided until 1986 when he entered the Tracy Nursing Home. He belonged to the Central Livestock Association, was a school board member of District 47 and Shetek Town Board.He was a member of the Tracy Lions Club, Roaring Lions Motorcycle Club and the Tracy Elevator's bowling team.

Robert "Bob" Meyer, 56, of Bloomington and formerly of New Ulm, died Sunday, July 25, 1999, at his home of lung cancer.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Transfiguration Church in Bloomington; with burial in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Werness Chapel, 2300 West Old Shakopee Road.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Corbett of Bloomington; brother, Richard "Dick" Meyer of Mound; sisters, Carol Lambrecht of Chanhassen, Judy Meyer of Brooklyn Park and Candy Meyer of New Ulm.
He was born Oct. 14, 1942, to Augie and Caroline Meyer in New Ulm. He attended New Ulm High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1960-63. He married Linda Oelkers on July 29, 1957, in Austin, Minn. He was president of the Ameriguard Insurance Company in Bloomington.

Emil Wallner, 96, of Buffalo Lake, died Friday, July 23, 1999, at Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center.
Services are 2 p.m. today at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is two hours prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements by the Hughes Funeral Home.
He is survived by nieces and nephews with their spouses: Orlene Fangmeier of Hector, Vernon and Geraldine Schuetz of Minneapolis, Carolyn and Ken Babcock of Montana, Vivian and Merlyn Skramsted of Enderlin, N.D., Doras and Don Asplund of Enderlin, N.D., Kenneth Wallner of Enderlin, N.D., Vonnie and Gary Condon of Perham, Wilbert and Doris Wallner of Berlin, Wis., Howard and Lorene Wallner of Enderlin, N.D., Roger and Eloise Wallner of Parkers Prairie, Myron Wallner of Washington, and Dennis and Vicky Wallner of Lisbon, N.D., and sister-in-law, Eleanor Sifferath of Buffalo Lake.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a brother in infancy; brothers, Ed, Christ, Otto, Henry and Ernest; and his sister Mabel.
He was born Sept.15, 1902, to Christ and Bertha (Pofahl) Wallner. He graduated from Buffalo Lake High School in 1923. He married Elsie Anne Ide on June 10, 1929, at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake. They lived in Buffalo Lake. He was the editor and publisher of the Buffalo Lake newspaper from 1925-29. He and his wife then ran the Cat's Eye gas station and tavern. He worked as a rural mail carrier for over 20 years, retiring in 1972. His wife died Dec. 19, 1978. In 1981, he moved to Buffalo Lake Apartments. He moved to the Cedar Crest Estates in Hutchinson in 1987. In January 1997, he entered the Buffalo Lake Nursing Home.

Eldon R. Strand, 81, of New Ulm, died July 24, 1999 at his home.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today and 7:30-11 a.m. Wednesday at Firle Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
He is survived by his daughters Gloria and her husband Caleb Porter of Greer, S.C.; Deanne and her husband Steve Wrage of Dell Rapids, S.D.; Barbara Mack of Sioux Falls, S.D.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; sisters-in-law, Mary Jo and her husband Armond Olson of Mankato; Ginny Norton of Mankato, Marcia and her husband Glen Roberts of Merrill, Wis.; brother-in-law, Lonny Anderson of Mankato; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife and his brother Harley.
He was born Nov. 9, 1917 in Rapidan to Nels and Elsie (Flemming) Strand. He was the valedictorian of the Rapidan High School Class of 1937. He attended the School of Agriculture at the University of Minnesota from 1939-40. He went into business with his father and brother and was part owner of the Nels Strand and Sons White Chester Hogs operation. After moving to New Ulm he became a milk tester for Southern Minnesota and also worked as a farm hand for Dennis Sandmann. He married Dorothy Anderson on March 25, 1961 in Mankato. The couple lived in New Ulm. He worked as a custodian at District 88 for 25 years and as a custodian at First United Methodist Church in New Ulm for 30 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a square dance caller and a 4-H leader for many years.
Memorials are preferred to the family.

Vernon Theis, 82, died Monday, July 26, 1999 at Springfield Medical Center.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Lamberton, with burial in the city cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30-9 a.m. Thursday at Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton, and will continue Thursday one hour prior to services at the church.
He is survived by daughters, Adeline of North Windham, Conn., Deanna Hedlund of Sacramento, Calif., Sherry Field of Jackson and Susan and husband Doug Wenisch of Springfield; son, Duane "Topper" and wife Carol of Lamberton; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Lenora of Lamberton; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Adeline in 1994; brothers, Fred, John, Joe and Walt; and sisters, Theresa, Ann, Rose and Louise.
He was born Dec. 29, 1916 in Minneapolis to Mathias and Myrtle (Dreveskracht) Theis. His parents died when he was young and Vernie, his brother Walt and his sister Louise lived with relatives before moving to an orphanage in Owatonna. He then moved to Lamberton where he lived with Sam and Ella Coulter. He graduated from Lamberton High School. He married Adeline Hamann on April 17, 1937 in Redwood Falls. He owned and operated Theis Livestock and raised cattle until his retirement in 1979. He was a resident of Valley View Manor at the time of his death. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the Justice Lodge No. 225 A.F. and A.M. in Lamberton.

Carl "Butch" Sundell, 53, of 1118 17th Street South, New Ulm, died Monday, July 26, 1999 at his home.
Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm with burial in the city cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the New Ulm veterans organizations.
Visitation is 3-7 p.m. today and 7:30 - 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his mother, Doris Nelson of Duluth; partner, Rita Hatle of New Ulm; her children, Collette Kakuk and her husband, Tony of San Clemente, Calif., Dawn Scheibel and her husband, Clay of New Ulm, Kara Hatle of Duluth, David Hatle of New Ulm; three grandchildren, Damon, Jarrett and Kendall Scheibel all of New Ulm; daughter, Ann Baker and her husband, Dan of Grand Rapids, Mich.; son, Mark Sundell of New Ulm; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Theresa Sundell of Duluth, Jim and Karen Sundell of St. Cloud; nieces and nephew; stepsister, Joyce Rathe of Duluth; stepbrothers, Robert, LeRoy and Jack Nelson,all of Duluth.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Sundell, Sr. and stepfather, Len Nelson.
He was born on July 3, 1946 in Duluth to Carl, Sr. and Doris (Pfeiffer) Sundell. On Jan. 4, 1965 he joined the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged on Oct. 3, 1968. He worked for A.M.P.I. in New Ulm. He was a member of the Winthrop Golf Club.

Vivian B. Goodman, 75, of Gaylord died Sunday, July 25, 1999, at Glencoe Area Health Care Center.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord with burial in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are by Egesdal Funeral Home of Gaylord.
She is survived by her sons and daughters- in- law, Ron and Terri Goodman of Foothill Ranch, Calif., and Larry and Susan Goodman of Seattle, Wash.; daughter and friend Judy Goodman and Robert Severson of Bloomington; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters, Agnes Robinson and Edna Mueller, both of Le Sueur.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997; brothers, Robert and Gordon (Bud) Thomason; brothers -in-law, Harold Robinson and Raymond Mueller.
She was born June 20, 1924, in Lake Prairie Township in Nicollet County to Theophilus and Susan (Renne) Thomason. She graduated from Gaylord High School in 1942. She married Robert Goodmanon Sept. 12, 1943 at Norwegian Grove Lutheran Church in rural Gaylord. They farmed on the Goodman homestead in Sibley Township. In 1965 they moved into Gaylord where she worked for Bush Brothers Shopping Center and later at Renner Rexal Drug Store. In the fall of 1998 she moved to the Seattle area to live near her son. She returned to Gaylord in April 1999. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord, a former member of Norwegian Grove Lutheran Church in rural Gaylord. She was a member of the Gaylord Golden Age Club and a former member of the Seattle Golden Age Club.

Leora J. Weikle, 66 of Fairfax died July 25, 1999, at Redwood Falls Hospital of cancer.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Central Lutheran Church in Camp Township, Renville County, with burial in the Ft. Ridgely and Dale Cemetery in Camp Township, Renville County.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax and continue one hour before services Thursday at the church.
She is survived by her husband; daughter, Patty Eveslage and husband Bob of Fairfax; sons, Russel and wife Janis of Fairfax, Richard and wife Carol of Fairfax, and Randy and wife Holly of Fairfax; daughter-in-law, Marcia Weikle of Silver Lake; parents, Ruben and Caroline Rieke of Fairfax; 13 grandchildren; brother, Reuben and his wife Loretta Rieke of Lincoln, Neb.; sister, Nancy and husband Richard Gulbranson of Brandon; two aunts; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Weikle in 1994 and by her sister Betty Ostrom.
She was born June 26, 1933, in Cairo Township, Renville County, to Reuben and Caroline (Bahr) Rieke. She graduated from Fairfax High School in 1951. She attended nurse's training school in Minneapolis. She married Ray Weikle on April 17, 1955 at Central Lutheran Church in Camp Township, Renville County. They lived in Fairfax for a short time before moving to their farm site in Bandon Township, Renville County. She held employment at various jobs throughout her lifetime. She helped found Dueber's in Fairfax and served as its first store manager. She worked for 10 years at the pharmacy in Fairfax, Hauser Lumber in Fairfax, Del Monte and Green Giant plants. The couple moved back to Fairfax in 1991. She was a long time member of Central Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School and was an active member of the Ladies Aid. She served as past president of the Fairfax C and C. She managed the Senior Citizens site in Fairfax for several years.

Lene Dieball, 88, of rural Henderson died Monday, July 26, 1999 at her home.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Arlington, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Fenske Funeral Home, Arlington, and will continue Friday one hour prior to services at the church.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Frieda and Orval Palmer of Milwaukee, Wis.; son and daughters-in-law, Karl and wife Rosemary of Green Isle, and Ruth Dieball of Withee, Wis.; sisters, Minna Piotter of Emmedingen, Germany and Erna Klauenboesch of Teufenthal, Switzerland; sister-in-law, Lena Schimanke of Emmendingen; brother-in-law, Joseph Wegner of Leba, Poland; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Karl on May 8, 1978; sons, Rudolf and Fritz; two brothers; and one sister.
She was born Nov. 17, 1910, in Fuchsberg, Kreis, Germany, to Herman and Wilhelmine (Graesern) Schimanke. She married Karl Dieball on May 25, 1934, in Giesebits, Germany. She, her husband and their children immigrated to the United States in January 1952 and made their home in Jackson, before moving to Arlington in 1955.

Benjamin J. Gruendemann, 76, of Olivia, formerly of Franklin, died Wednesday, July 28, 1999 at Olivia Health Care Center.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, Morton, with burial in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Cairo Township.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax and will continue Saturday one hour prior to services at the church.

Reinhold Reek, 94, of Redwood Falls, died Wednesday, July 28, 1999 at Wood Dale Nursing Home in Redwood Falls.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls with burial in the Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from 9 a.m. until time of service at the Nelson Funeral Home.
He is survived by his son, Roger of Franklin; and daughters, Marcella of Redwood Falls and Judy of Willmar.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara in 1987; brothers Gust and Rudy; and sisters, Elis, Avina and Christina.
He was born on Dec. 18, 1904 in Emmett Township, Renville County. He attended Delhi schools. He resided in Renville and Redwood counties and in Redwood Falls for the past 16 years. He did labor for various people. He was a member of Flora Ev. Lutheran Church.

Edward Evertt Wiggs, 79, of Wabasso, died Wednesday, July 28, 1999 at his home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in Marshall with burial in the Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Visitation will be Saturday, one hour prior to services at the church in Marshall. The Sunset Funeral Home of Wabasso is handling the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife Joan of Wabasso, children: Dave Wiggs of Crystal, Diana Wiggs of Minneapolis, Henry Wiggs of Minneapolis, and Lawrence Wiggs of Wisconsin, three grandchildren; sister Grace Wiggs of Atlanta, Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and a sister.
He was born on Oct. 15, 1919 in Centralia, Illinois to Edward Everett and Caista (Davis) Wiggs. He grew up in Illinois and attended school there. He entered the United States Navy and served during WW II. He was united in marriage to Joan Anna Lane in Minneapolis on July 23, 1952 and they lived in Minneapolis and the area until 1979.
He worked as a machinist for the rail road industry until his retirement in 1979. They moved to Hutchinson and later settled in Wabasso in 1983. He became very active with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Minneapolis in 1960 and served faithfully in the Priesthood of his church as a High Priest in Marshall.
