Jacquelyn 'Jackie' Kay Simon, 17 of Springfield, died June 7, 1999, in North Star Township as a result of an auto accident.
Service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Springfield Public School Fine Arts Center with burial in the North Star E.U.B. Cemetery in Springfield.
Visitation is 4 - 9 p.m. today and 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield and one hour before the service Thursday at the arts center.
She is survived by her parents; sister Kristina and brothers Andrew and Derrick Simon, all of Springfield; paternal grandparents, Robert and Dorothy Simon of Springfield; maternal grandparents, Roy and Kay Andersen of Prior Lake; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jackie was born May 28, 1982 in Springfield to David and Rebecca (Andersen) Simon. She grew up on a farm in North Star Township, Brown County. She had completed her junior year at Springfield High School. She worked at Victorian Gardens in Springfield and was a member of New Life Assembly of God Church, its youth group and Sunday School. She participated in youth camp, school choir, drama, cheerleading and was an All-State Choir member. She was also a member of the Mighty Jolly Crusaders 4-H club in Redwood County, was a 4-H ambassador. She participated in church league softball in Redwood Falls.

Peter Muehlen, 60, of Ulm Germany, died at his home in Ulm, Germany in May 1999 of cancer.
He was one of the first two exchange students between Ulm, Germany and New Ulm. He was a student at New Ulm High School during the 1958-59 school year, and lived with the Frank Schugel family.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters and their husbands, three grandchildren, his sister and two brothers.

Lorraine Kodet, 70, of Redwood Falls, died Monday, June 7, 1999, at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Redwood Falls with burial in the church cemetery at a later date.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m.. and continues 8-10:15 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
She is survived by her children; Gary and wife Connie of Clements, Sharon Holmes of Phoenix, Ariz., and Greg of Redwood Falls; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister Genevieve Fast and husband Eugene of Round Rock, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband Otto on Dec. 30, 1991 and son Kevin in infancy.
She was born on May 22, 1929 in Morton to John and Lillian (Frank) Schuman. She grew up 'in Morgan. She attended St. Michael's Catholic School and Morgan Public School. On Aug. 4, 1949 she married Otto Frank Kodet at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Morgan. They lived in Redwood Falls where she worked as a waitress at the Valley Supper Club and owned and operated the Green Parrot. She was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church and was active in the Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the V.F.W. since 1954 and American Diabetes Association. She volunteered at the adult day care

Evelyn Stancer, of Redwood Falls, died Tuesday, June 8, 1999, at her son's home in Redwood Falls.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Redwood Falls, with burial in the Morton City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 9:30 a.m. until time of service Friday at the church.
Sunset Funeral Home of Echo in handling arrangements.

Austin Scott Current of Chanhassan, infant son of Kimberly and Scott Current, died June 8, 1999.
Memorial services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Colonial Church of Edina with burial in the Lakewood Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel.
He was born March 12, 1999.
He is survived by his parents Kimberly and Scott; brother Ryan; grandparents, Esther and Don Current of Winthrop, Sandra and Frank Walentine of St. Louis Park; great-grandmother, Florence Zorn; and other relatives.
Memorials are preferred to the SIDS Foundation.

William E. (Bill) Macklin, III , 81 of Riverside Villa in Pine River, formerly of New Ulm, died Tuesday, June 8, 1999.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Union Congregational Church in Hackensack
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Thomas-Dennis Funeral Chapel in Walker.
He is survived by his wife,Judy; children, William Macklin IV and wife Paige of Lakeville, Susan Paulson and husband Gary of Little Falls, and Thomas Macklin and wife Darlene of Worthington; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Elaine (Becky).
He was born Aug. 4, 1917, in Coon Rapids, Iowa to William and Ada (Pingrey) Macklin. He grew up in Iowa, Minneapolis and Litchfield. He graduated from the University of Missouri in journalism. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a former Associated Press correspondent in London and later in St. Louis and Kansas City. He married Elaine Beckstrom in 1945. They moved to New Ulm in 1951, where he served as editor of The New Ulm Daily Journal (later The Journal) for 28 years. They retired in 1980 to Ten Mile Lake near Hackensack. He wrote a weekly column published in The Journal, the Walker Pilot-Independent, the Pine River Journal, the Longville Pine Cone Press and the Country Echo of Pequot Lakes. He was a member of the Union Congregational Church, the Ten Mile Lake Association, the American Legion Post and the Isaak Walton League. He and Becky also traveled until her death in 1987. On July 9, 1989 he married Judy Vass. They traveled together in the U.S., Mexico, Europe and the Caribbean. They went to China in 1993, where his grandfather, a medical missionary, had established a 25-bed hospital in Nanjing in 1893. He and his sisters were guests at the centennial celebration and he received a standing ovation as a speaker at the main event. In 1994 they moved to Riverside Villa in Pine River after he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. He then moved to the Masonic Hospital in Bloomington and in 1998 to Whispering Pines Care Center in Pine River.

Evelyn Stancer, 83, of Redwood Falls died Tuesday, June 8, 1999 at her son's home in Redwood Falls.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls, with burial in the Morton City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and from 9:30 a.m. Friday until time of service at the church. The Sunset Funeral Home of Echo is handling the arrangements.
She is survived by her son Jeff Stancer and his wife Betty of Redwood Falls, three grandsons; two great-grandchildren; sister Martha Ammermann of Windom, brother-in-law Lao Stancer and wife Elizabeth of Redwood Falls, and sisters-in-law, Shirley Klause and husband Wally of Hector, Audrey Stancer of Redwood Falls, and Arlene Johnson of Windom.
She was preceded in death by her husband Garol; brothers, Oscar, Martin, and Stanley; sisters, Grace Christopher, Olga Tostensen, Ann Martin, and Alyce Johnson.
She was born Thursday, March 9, 1916 in Odin to John 0. and Olivia (Paulson) Johnson. She grew up in Odin and attended Edison High School. On April 12, 1936 she married Garold Stancer in the Zion Lutheran Church in Odin. They lived in Redwood Falls until moving to Ogden, Utah during World War II. They returned to Redwood Falls in 1946. Garold died on Oct. 7, 1997. She was an active member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls, where she served on the funeral committee for more than 30 years, belonged to the quilters group and WELCA. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the V.F.W. Auxiliary, the County Council, and the Hospital Auxiliary, and she held many offices in all of these organizations.

Eda Epper, 87, formerly of Nicollet, died Thursday, June 9, 1999 at St. Peter Community Hospital in St. Peter.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Nicollet with burial in the church cemetery in Nicollet Township, Nicollet County.
Visitation is 4 - 8 p.m. today and 9-10:30 a.m. Friday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Nicollet. There will be a rosary at 5:30 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Neil Warmack of Coon Rapids, Betty and Edward Prom of rural Madison Lake; sons and daughter-in-law, Charles and Dianne Epper, and William Epper, Sr. all of Nicollet; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alice Zins, of Grandview Health Care Center in St. Peter.
She was preceded in death by husband, Anthony Epper; brothers, Claudius, Edmond, Theodore, Leonard, Jr. and Eugene Giefer; sisters, Margaret Giefer and Aurelia Lawson; and granddaughter, Ann Marie Epper.
She was born on April 6, 1912 at Swan Lake to Leonard Anton and Lucy (Karpan) Giefer. She graduated from the Nicollet High School. She married Anthony Epper on June 19, 1933 at Church of the Visitation at Swan Lake. They lived in Nicollet and owned and operated the Nicollet Oil Company. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Nicollet, Catholic Order of Foresters, Catholic Aid Society,and St. Anne's Society (C.C.W.).
The family prefers memorials to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.

Evelyn Ann Sturm, 80, of Springfield, died Thursday, June 10, 1999 at the Springfield Medical Center.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 14, 1999 at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-10 a.m. Monday at Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.
There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and a St. Anne's CCW rosary at the church at 10 a.m. Monday.
She is survived by her sons, Robert and wife Sharon Sturm of Springfield, Michael and wife Deb Sturm of Farmington; daughter-JoAnn and husband Thomas Hensel of Mankato; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters-Louise Tastel of New Ulm; Veronica Portner of New Ulm; brother, Norbert and wife Viola Seidl of Sleepy Eye; sister-in-law, Leona Seidl of Sleepy Eye.
She was preceded in death by her husband,Alvin in 1975; sisters, Minnie Schroepfer, Laura Schroepfer, Clara Portner; brother, Leonard Seidl; brothers-in-law Eugene Sturm, Harold Tastel and Charles Portner.
She was born Dec. 3, 1918 in Stark Township, Brown County to William and Catherine (Haala) Seidl. She attended country school. On Aug. 20, 1941, she married Alvin J. Sturm at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. They farmed in Burnstown Township until 1967 when they moved into Springfield. She worked at the A&W drive-in, Amsden Surge and cooked at the Springfield Golf Club. She was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church, St. Anne's C.C.W., church ladies craft group and the Springfield Garden Club.

Troy Lee, 30, of rural Franklin, died on Wednesday, June 9, 1999 at Redwood Falls Hospital.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Evangelical Free Church in Hector with burial in the Fort Ridgely and Dale Cemetery in Rural Franklin.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and will continue on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
He is survived by his parents Roger and Mary Lou Lee of rural Franklin; sisters; Lola Ryckman and husband Scott of Johnston, Iowa, Carmen Jamison of Duluth; brothers, Collin Lee and wife Margaret of Franklin, Blaine Lee and wife Christy of Plymouth and Chad Lee and wife Julie of Sioux Falls, S.D; paternal grandfather Carl Lee of rural Franklin and maternal grandmother Bonita Sherman of the Sunwood Good Samaritan Care Center in Redwood Falls.
He was preceded in death by a sister Cindy in infancy and paternal grandmother Mildred Lee and maternal grandfather Lynn Sherman.
He was born on May 23, 1969 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota to Roger and Mary Lou (Sherman) Lee. He attended Franklin Elementary School and graduated from Cedar Mountain High School in 1987. He was the manager of the Cedar Mountain Boys Basketball Team for three years, including a state-tourney trip in 1985. He attended Willmar Vo-Tech for two years, graduating in 1989 in ag accounting. He did crop scouting for Centrol Inc. in Cottonwood and then for Minnesota Crop Monitors in Buffalo Lake. He then worked for Wal-Mart as a department manager 'in the automotive department in Redwood Falls. Most recently he was employed as a cashier at Jackpot Junction.

Frederickson/Schmidt baby Private family graveside services will be held at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm for the baby of Laurie Frederickson and Robert Schmidt of New Ulm. The infant was stillborn Tuesday, June 8, 1999, at New Ulm Medical Center.
Firle Funeral Home of New Ulm is handling arrangements.

Burton Lee Masters, 63 of Park Rapids, died June 6, 1999 at St. Benedicts Center in St. Cloud.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Pater's Catholic Church in Park Rapids.
Visitation will be 9:30 - 11 a.m. at the church prior to services, with burial in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Frontal Lobe Demtia Reshearch, c/o University of Minnesota, Dr. David Knopman, 420 Delaware St. S.E., Box 295, Minneapolis, Minn., 55455
He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law; Teresa and Jim Janos of Maple Grove, Linda and Jim Kaehns of Brooklyn Park, Shari and Todd Cosky of Dayton; son and daughter -in-law Burt and LuAnn of Andover; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson; brothers Richard of Minneapolis, Mike and his wife Yoshiko of Madelia; sisters and brothers -in-law, Margaret and Les Sundsvold of Scarsville, Iowa, Rosemary and Joe Becker of Madelia, Kay and Bob Schuck of New Ulm, Alina "Pixi" Vergraken of New Ulm; nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceeded in death by his parents; wife Eleanor; brothers Fred and Carl, and sister Marcella.
He was born Dec. 19, 1935 in Grenada to Fred and Rose (Lenz) Masters. They later moved to the Lake Crystal and Garden City areas. He graduated from Garden City High School in 1954. He held various jobs, including managing a gas/ service station in Madelia and working as a paint/wallcovering contractor. He married Eleanor Jasken at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Minneapolis Sept. 12, 1970. In 1974 he became affiliated with the American-Excelsior company where he worked as a plant superintendent and later in sales. For a brief while he farmed in the Watertown, S.D. area. In 1981 the farm was sold and they returned to Minnesota where they purchased the Kerhoven Lounge & Off-Sale which they operated until 1989. In 1990 they moved to Eagle Lake. In 1995 he became a resident of the Lutheran Home at Twin Valley and later moved to St. Benedict's Nursing center of St. Cloud. He remained a member of St. Peter's Catholic church in Park Rapids.
