Fred William Ware, 96 of Austin died June 17, 1999 at St. Marks Lutheran Home in Austin.
Services will be 12 p.m. Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton with burial in the Lamberton cemetery.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. - Noon at the church.
Fred is survived by his children: Carol Rickheim of Austin; Roger and wife Gladys of Hudson, Wis.; Leland and wife Suzette of LeCenter; Dawn and husband Charles (Chuck) Tatrick of Hilman; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister Mary Ann and husband Nylo Schmalz of Westbrook and brother Harold Schultz of Washington D.C.
He was preceeded in death by wives Fern and Edna; sisters Evelyn and Helen; brothers Art, Homer and Ted.
He was born Sept. 1, 1902 in Langdon, ND to Carl and Susie (Unger) Schultz. He moved to Lamberton with his family as a child and attended country school. On June 9, 1926 he married Fern Albertson in Minneapolis. He lived in Bernadotte, Lafayette, Redwood Falls and Hillman before becoming a resident at St. Mark's Lutheran home in Austin in 1997. He farmed and managed a grain elevator, and later was a school custodian. Fern died in May of 1979, and he re-married. He was a former member of Sharon Lutheran church in Lamberton, the Masonic Lodge, Order of Eastern Star, was a volunteer fireman and acted in community plays.

Viola M. Strate, 77 of Sleepy Eye died Friday, June 18, 1999 in Sleepy Eye.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Manday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, with a Christian Mothers rosary at 4 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7 p.m., and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Monday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Charlotte and Richard Gurres of Willmar; sons and daughters-in-law Charles and Nancy Strate of Eden Valley, Lynn and Jeanne Strate of Sleepy Eye; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law George and Mary Lux of Sleepy Eye; step-brother Robert Eckstein of St. James; sisters0in-law Phyllis (Lux) Schouveiller of Morgan, Ellen Lux, Ines Lochner, Lillian Strate all of Sleepy Eye; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son Louis in 1954; husband Raymond in 1986; brothers Peter, Leo, Joseph, Jerome, LeRoy; sisters Tillie, Margie, Marcella, Marion, Josephine; step-brother Leo Eckstein.
She was born Nov. 3, 1921 in Sleepy Eye to Nick and Anna (Hemmen) Lux. She attended St. Mary's School and District 13 country school. She married Raymond "Rayme" Strate May 20, 1941 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. They made their home and farmed in Home Township until retiring and moving to Sleepy Eye in 1984. She helped on the farm, worked for Del Monte, and wrote for the East Home News of the Sleepy Eye Herald Dispatch. Her history of their farm was published in Farmer magazine in 1983. She was an active volunteer and was the recipient of the first Brown County Senior Citizen Distinguished Service Award in 1992. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye, Christian Mothers, National Catholic Society of Forecters, Sleepy Eye Senior Citizens, Care Center Auxiliary, Divine Providence Community Home Auxiliary, Minnesota Senior Federation, and was a Red Cross "Galloneer".

Ruth (Gehlhar) Krenz, wife of Henry Krenz, former principal at St. Paul's Lutheran School, died Wednesday, June 16, 1999.
Visitation is 3-6 p.m. Sunday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm from 3 - 6 p.m. Sunday.
Following services for the family on Monday, burial will be take place in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.

Alexander Markgraf, 70 of Buffalo Lake died Thursday, June 17, 1999 at the Hutchinson Area Health Care facility.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hector with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Hughes Funeral Home in Stewart and one hour prior to the service at the church.
He is survived by wife Susan; daughters Dawn and Deanna all of of Buffalo Lake; step-son Leif Silfverston of Prior Lake; step-daughter Traci Silfverston and finance Brian Wagner of Dassel; brothers LeRoy Markgraf and wife Darlene of Buffalo Lake, William Markgraf of Stewart, John Markgraf and wife Sylvia of Stewart; sister Molly Ahlbrecht and husband Otto of Hector; mother-in-law Adella Gruenhagen of Norwood/Young America; sisters-in-law Gladys Markgraf, Rose Markgraf both of Buffalo Lake, Anita Herrmann and husband Virgil of Belle Plaine; brother-in-law Harold Inselmann of Hector; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Carl, David, and Henry; sisters Sally Inselmann, Freida Inselmann, Adeline Inselmann, Alma Voight.
He was born Feb. 18, 1929 in Hutchinson to John Sr. and Elizabeth (Gotte) Markgraf. He grew up in the Hector/Buffalo Lake area where he attended rural school. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1954. He married Susan Gruenhagen Silfverston July 11, 1980 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Young America and they lived on the family farm in Preston Lake Township. He was a member of VFW Post 906, a 1999 charter member of the World War II Memorial, and he served on the St. Paul's Lutheran Church board.

Grace Elizabeth Roering, was born stillborn to Jason and Emily Roering of North Mankato on Monday, June 14, 1999 at the Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
There will be a private family service at the Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm. Arrangements are through the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
She is survived by her parents, Jason and Emily (nee Fischer) Roering of North Mankato; grandparents, Lois and Luverne Fischer of Sleepy Eye, Delores and Gerald Roering of St. Cloud; great-grandparents, Alvin and Germaine Beaudry of Albertville, Irene Roering of St. Cloud, and Veronica Forstner of New Ulm; aunts and uncles, Holly Roering of St. Cloud, Mary and Ken Bruss of Lenexa, Kan., Ann and Rick Reckow of St. James, Paul and Rae Fischer of Redwood Falls, Peter and Julie Fischer of Stewartville, Joe Fischer of New Ulm, John and Rose Fischer of New Ulm, Karl and Nancy Fischer of Hutchinson, Lucy Fischer of Elk River; and thirteen cousins.

Beverly Flohrs, 67 of rural Ormsby died Friday morning, June 18, 1999 at the Fairmont Community hospital.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 22 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Galena Township, rural Ormsby with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday and from 9 - 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Dramer Family funeral home in Trimont and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.

Benadine Murphy, 86 of Madelia died Friday at the Madelia Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic church in Madelia with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation is Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at the Pilgrm Funeral Home in Madelia, and from 9 - 10:15 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. There will be a rosary recited Sunday at 5 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Harriet Broste, 80, of Madelia, formerly of Hanska, died Friday, June 18, 1999, at the Madelia Community Hospital.
Services will be11 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church in Hanska, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at the Firle Funeral Home in Hanska and one hour prior to service at the church.
Survivors include daughters, Jean Knudson and husband Loren of Comfrey, and Sheila Wilness and husband Don of Brooklyn Park; a son, Ken Broste and wife Mona, of Tucson, Ariz.; five grandchildren; a brother, George Mosenden and his wife Gervaise of Hanska; sisters-in-law, Minnie Broste of Hanska, Maurine Broste of St. James, and Joan Mosenden of Hanska; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and one sister.
She was born Dec. 6, 1918, in New Ulm to J.I. and Hannah (Hanson) Mosenden. She attended New Ulm public schools, and was a graduate of New Ulm High School. She married Sidney Broste on Jan. 20, 1944, at the Lake Hanska Lutheran Church parsonage in rural Hanska.
They farmed in Lake Hanska Township until moving into Hanska in 1958. She worked at Kraft Foods in New Ulm for approximately 20 years. Her husband died in 1984. She later lived in New Ulm and Sleepy Eye. She had been a resident of the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia for the past year. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Hanska, and was active in the Sons of Norway, and a member of Gudbransdal Lag.

Margaret "Marge" L.. Johnson, 83, of Springfield, died Friday, June 18, 1999 at the Springfield Medical Center.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Springfield with burial in the Lakeview Cemetery, Windom.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Monday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield, and at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.
She is survived by her husband, Ray Johnson of Springfield; daughters, Shirley and husband David Halvorson of Wilmington, N.C., Sandy and husband Stan Peichel of Anoka, and Kay and husband Richard Bellig of Bettendorf, Iowa; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, and a brother Clifford and wife Bonnie Simpson of Fort Dodge, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Vincent; two grandchildren; Steven Bellig and Beth Halvorson Flack; brothers, Lester and Robert, and a sister, Virginia.
She was born May 4, 1916 in Clare, Iowa, to Ray and Grace (Spooner) Simpson. She grew up and attended school in Clare. She married Vincent Cervene in 1931 in Iowa. The couple made their home in Iowa for a few years before moving to Redwood Falls, where she worked at the Paris Dress Shop for many years. Vincent died in 1951.
She married Ray Johnson on Feb. 2, 1953, in Redwood Falls and the couple made their home in Springfield. She worked for Woehrmann Cafe, the Springfield Public School as a cook, and drove the kindergarten school bus.
She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, where she was active in the choir, altar guild, and circle.

Ernst E. Laabs, Sr., 76 of Green Isle, died Friday, June 18, 1999 at the Arlington Good Samaritan Center.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Green Isle, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at the Fenske Funeral Home in Arlington and will continue one hour prior to service at the church on Monday.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Laabs of Green Isle; daughters and sons-in-law: Sharon and Howard Schuette of Green Isle, and Diana and David Grove of Woodbridge, Va.; a son and daughter-in-law, Ernst, Jr. and Diane Laabs of Green Isle; a sister, Flora Winter of Green Isle, and four grandchildren: Kent and Julie Schuette, Kara Schuette and special friend Roger Moerke, Elizabeth Grove, and Jonathon Grove.
He was born Sept. 5, 1922, in Billingham, Minn., to William and Lydia (Buck) Laabs. On April 22, 1945, he married Dorothy TEsch at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Parsonage in Green Isle. He farmed in Green Isle most of his life and also worked at Farm Hand in Green Isle for 25 years, from 1957 to the early 1980s.

Bernadine K. Murphy, 86, of Madelia died Friday, June 18, 1999, at the Madelia Community Hospital.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Madelia. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today and 9 to 10:15 a.m. Monday at the Pilgrim Funeral Home, Madelia, with a Rosary at 5 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., both today at the funeral home.
She is survived by sons and their wives Philip J. and Rosemary of Madelia and John P. and Alece Cox of Tacoma, Wash.; daughters, Rosemary Murphy of Oakland, Calif., Suzanne Corressell and husband Leon of Evansville, Ill., and Sheila Murphy of Billings, Mont.; and 11 grandchildren. She was preceded by her husband, three sisters, two brothers and an infant daughter.
She was born Dec. 22, 1912 in Good Thunder to John and Mary (Shanahan) McCarthy. She grew up in Good Thunder and graduated from high school there in 1930. She attended Mankato Teachers College and received her teaching certificate in 1932. She taught in rural Ceresco Township until 1938 when she married Roy E. Murphy on Sept. 3 at Good Thunder. They farmed on the family farm in rural Madelia for many years. After Roy died in December 1980 she remained on the farm until moving into Madelia in 1994. She had been a resident of Luther Memorial Home since August 1995. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she sang in the choir and was active with the Council of Catholic Women. She was also a member of the Tuesday Club.
