Blanche I. Hudson, 83, died Friday, April 30, 1999 at Lake View Memorial Nursing Home, Two Harbors.
Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Finlayson, with burial in Finnish Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and will continue noon-1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Arrangements are handled by Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.
She is survived by son Leon and wife Jean of Two Harbors; daughter JoAnn Gembala of Sebastopol, Calif.; brother Ralph Runge of Paynesville; sister Ione Stein of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Matthew Gembala, Jody and husband Dave Sorlein, Kevin and wife Leanna Hudson, Scott and wife Diane Hudson, and Mark Hudson; great-grandchildren, Nick, Benjamin and Natalie Hudson; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leo in 1989; and sister Ethel Koenig.
She was born Feb. 17, 1916 in St. James, where she grew up and attended St. James High School. She married Leo P. Hudson on July 3, 1937 in Spencer, Iowa. During World War II, the couple lived in Tacoma, Wash., where she worked as a sheet metal worker. They later moved to the St. James/New Ulm area, where she worked at 3M. In 1968, they moved to Pine Lake Township near Finlayson, where they farmed. She worked for 3M in Pine City before retiring. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Finlayson.

Dwayne E. Maas, 62, died Saturday, May 1, 1999 at home.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, LaCrosse, Wis. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Nicollet.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home, La Crosse, and will continue Wednesday at the church from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
He is survived by his wife Luann; father Emil of Dresbach; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother in 1983.
He was born Oct. 6, 1937 in Nicollet to Emil and Esther (Rudenick) Maas. He married Luann Roeder on May 30, 1964 in Nicollet. He was a 1955 graduate of Nicollet High School and received a bachelor and master's degree in business from Mankato State University. He had been employed in various management capacities at the Trane Company, Toro, Coopers and Lybrand and Hawkins, Ash, Baptie and Company. He retired in 1992. He was a member of the Dresbach Township Board and was the current chairman. He also served on several Winona County boards and committees.

LeRoy Anderson, 58, of Evan, died Sunday, May 2, 1999 at his home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Evan, with burial in Veterans Memorial Garden.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Thursday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye, and will continue at the church one hour prior to services.
He is survived by his wife Donna of Evan; mother Orda of Evan; step children, Barbara Brazle and fiance Ron Hackler of New Brighton, Betty and Charles Ostrom of Orlando, Fla., Vickie and Steve Kuehn of New Ulm, Kathy and Bud Underahl of Ramsey and Butch Brazle and friend Laurie Zuhlsdorf of Sleepy Eye; 11 step-grandchildren; four step-great-great-grandchildren; sister Audrey Riebel of Burnsville; and brother Vic and wife Evie Anderson of Fairmont; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Lloyd; step-granddaughter Mary Katherine Kuehn; brother James Anderson; brother-in-law Charles Riebel; and nephew Daniel Riebel.
He was born July 26, 1940, in Winnebago to Lloyd and Orda (Larson) Anderson. His family moved to Evan when he was six-months old. He graduated from Sleepy Eye High School in 1958. He attended Mankato State University. He served in the Army from 1963 until 1965 and the Army Reserve until 1969. He owned and operated Anderson Sand and Gravel in Evan and hauled grain in the area for many years. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and served on the church board. He also served on the Evan City Council.

James Johnson, 80, of Sleepy Eye, died Sunday, May 2, 1999 in Rochester.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye, with burial in Veterans Memorial Gardens in Home Cemetery, Sleepy Eye with military rites by the Sleepy Eye Honor Guard.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m.today and 7:30-10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
He is survived by his wife Lois of Sleepy Eye; children, Donna and Harlan Larson of Waseca, Shirley and Calvin Shoen of Comfrey, Sue Haala of Sleepy Eye, Ronald "Herk" and Mary of Sleepy Eye and Carol and Steve Nott of Clements; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Jane Syverson of Sleepy Eye, Lavonne Dowling of Sun Lakes, Ariz., Phyllis Roiger of Springfield, Barbara Hamann of Park Rapids and Dolores Priem of New Richland; brothers, Robert "Many" of St. Cloud and Chuck of Waseca; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother Lawrence.
He was born Dec. 18, 1918 in Waseca to John "Ray" Raymond and Amelia "Molly" (Gunderson) Johnson. He grew up and attended school in Sleepy Eye. He worked at McKnight's store. He married Lois Nicholson on Aug. 17, 1939 in Sleepy Eye. He served in the Army during World War II from July 1944 until January 1946. He worked at Del Monte in electrical maintenance until retiring in 1981. He was a member of the Isaac-Radl VFW Post in Sleepy Eye.

Loretta Steffensmeier, 76, of Mankato, died Sunday, May 2, 1999 at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital, Mankato.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Mankato, with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at Mankato Mortuary, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, and will continue one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
Memorials are preferred to Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospice Organization.
She is survived by sons, Kenneth and wife Joyce of Mankato, James of North Mankato, Loren and wife Sylvian of Nicollet, Dean and wife Donna of Nicollet, Carl and wife Diane of North Mankato and Patrick of Mankato; daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and John Slipy of Hackensack, Linda and Charles Bohlke of Mankato and Angela and Brad Swanson of Savage; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lena Scharbach and Theresa Kroenig, both of New Ulm; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son, four sisters and two brothers.
She was born July 14, 1922 in Sleepy Eye to Stephen and Mary (Tauer) Sellner. She grew up in the Sleepy Eye area. She married Harold Steffensmeier on Feb. 17, 1943 in Morgan. In 1959 they moved to Mankato. She worked as a waitress at various area restaurants and was most recently employed as a nurses aide at Good Counsel. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters and the Moose Auxiliary.

Mildred Bode, 88, Rt. 1, Courtland, died Tuesday, May 4, 1999, at Fairfax Community Home.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday and will continue from 7:30-8:30 a.m. Saturday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Saturday.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Helen and Melvin Koenig of Alexandria, Eleanor and Marlin Stein of Courtland; daughter-in-law, Jane Bode of New Ulm; nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Owen Langlie of Mankato.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Armin on June 25, 1988; son, Robert in October 1997; sister, Hertha Berberich; and a brother, Elmer Kloppmann.
She was born Aug. 16, 1910 in Mankato to Henry and Mariea (Spoering) Kloppmann. She attended Immanuel Lutheran School in Mankato. She married Armin Bode on Nov. 8, 1933, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland. They farmed in Courtland township, Nicollet County. They retired in 1973. She has been a resident of the Fairfax Community Home for the past two years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland and the Dorcas Society.

Audrey Pettis, 67, of 415 S. Payne St., New Ulm died Wednesday, May 5, 1999, at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina.
Mass of Christian Burlal will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 10, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial to follow in New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-6 p.m. Sunday, and 7:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at Firle Funeral Home in New Ulm. A parish prayer service will be held Sunday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ronald J. Fischer, 54, of Rt. 2 New Ulm died Tuesday, May 4, 1999 at his home.
Mass of Christian burial is noon Friday at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m.today at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The Catholic Order of Foresters will pray the rosary at 6:30 p.m., and there will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 today at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Fischer of New Ulm; daughter, Christine Fischer of West Point, Iowa; sons, Michael Fischer and Timothy Fischer both of New Ulm.
He was born Oct. 31, 1944, in New Ulm to John and Emelia (Gag) Fischer. He graduated from Cathedral High School in 1962. He married Alice Meyer on Sept. 18, 1965 at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. He farmed until 1995 and he also drove fork lift for the Coolstor Warehouse Services. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, Catholic Order of Foresters, and a past member of the New Ulm Battery.

Clara Pautsch, 90 of Gaylord, died Tuesday, May 4, 1999 at Arlington Municipal Hospital.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 7, at American Lutheran Church in Gaylord with burial in the Gaylord Municipal Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8:30 p.m today and 7:30-8:30 a.m. on Friday at Egesdal Funeral Home in Gaylord, and one hour at the church before services.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law; Wilbert and Brenda Pautsch of Gaylord, Richard and Bonnie Pautsch of Gaylord; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Roger Neubarth of Glencoe; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; nieces and nephew.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter In 1986; sister Esther Manthey in January 1999.
She was born April 15, 1909 in Sibley Township, Sibley County to Julius and Anna (Otto) Manthey.
She married Walter Pautsch on Oct. 27, 1935, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Gaylord. They farmed in Sibley Township until 1968. They moved into Gaylord in 1970.
She was a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and charter member of American Lutheran in Gaylord. She was active in WELA and the American Lutheran Quilting Group. She worked at the Arlington Good Samaritan Center as a nurses aide for many years.

Ray Hulett, 79, of Redwood Falls, died on Tuesday, May 4, 1999 at his home in Redwood Falls.
Memorial services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Morton with burial of cremains in the Redwood Falls Cemetery
He is survived by siblings and their spouses, Lela Bartz and husband Laurence of Franklin, Fern Bartsch and husband Wilmar of Phoenix, Arizona, Laurence Hulett of Buffalo, Lucille Wolter of Redwood Falls, Jean Hale of Wisconsin and Leon Hulett and wife Dayette of Coon Rapids; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Clarence Jacobson and wife Ruth of Redwood Falls, Gladys Shelley and husband Ervey of Cambridge, Norma Brothers and husband Dick of Minneapolis and Elmer Jacobson and wife Pat of Redwood Falls and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret in February 1998 and sister Ruby.
He was born on July 2, 1919 in Walnut Grove, to Lee and Ida (Yackel) Hulett. He served in the Army Air Corps from June 4, 1941 until Sept. 6, 1945 serving part of that time in Australia. On Jan. 28, 1945 he married Margaret Jacobson at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Morton. They farmed in the Morton, Wabasso and Redwood Falls areas before moving to Redwood Falls in October of 1997. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Morton and served on the church board.
