She is survived her husband, Fred; sons: Fred Jr. and wife Staceyof Thief River Falls, and Roland of Willmar; daughters: Linda (Mrs. Dale) Noll, Mahnomen, Donna (Mrs. Derrick) Turner, Fargo, Sandra, (Mrs. Gary) John, Lengby, Theresa (Mrs. Vincent) Simon, Waubun and Marcia (Mrs. Peter) Liebl of Gary; brothers: John of Coon Rapids and Jerome and wife Opal of Morgan, and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Bernard; and three sisters, Rose Angeline and Regina; and one grandson Andrew Noll.
She was born May 8, 1935 to John and Mary (Serbus) Malecek near Bechyn in Renville County. She grew up and attended school in Redwood Falls. After graduating from Redwood Falls High School in 1953 she worked for the telephone office in New Ulm for four years.
On Oct.29, 1957 she married Fred Hartmann in Bechy. They moved to Mahnomen County and farmed near Beaulieu, until 1933. She also worked at Fosston Hospital and Midway Care Center in Fosston. In October of 1996, they moved to Thief River Falls, where she worked at the school in Hartwood Motel.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Beaulieu and St. Joseph's Christian Mothers.

Earl M. Jacobson, 87, of Arlington, died Friday May 7, 1999 at the Arlington Municipal Hospital.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church at Arlington with burial in the Winthrop Cemetery.
Fenske Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Visitation will be from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Arlington.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law: Cornelius and Genevieve Jacobson of Bloomington, Duane and Adeline Jacobson of New Ulm and Luella Jacobson of Nevada, Iowa; nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, and two brothers; Herbert and Ernest Jacobson.
He was born on June 24, 1911 in Lafayette Township, Nicollet County to Jacob and Eva (Thompson) Jacobson. He attended country school in Sibley County. He farmed in Winthrop area most of his life. He was a veteran of WWII. He married Frieda Winters Gorr in the late 1950's and she preceded him in death in the mid 1980's.

Esther C. Wog, 77, of Lamberton, died Saturday, May 8, 1999 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lamberton with burial in the church Cemetery, Lamberton.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at the Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton and also from 9-10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
She is survived by her husband Anthony Wog of Valley View Manor, Lamberton; children: Marsha and husband Bill Petersen of Lamberton, Jim and wife Nancy Wog of Park Rapids, Charman and husband Kelvin Bast of Springfield and Pattie and husband Ken Dold of Wanda; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a brother, Emil and wife Mary Haas of Springfield and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson Jay Petersen, brothers Peter, Mike, Ted and Leo Haas; sisters, Ella Lang, Freida Wersal and a sister in infancy.
She was born Aug. 23, 1921 in Stately Township, Brown County to Peter and Katie (Kastner) Haas. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school. On June 9, 1941 she married Anthony Wog at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield. Following marriage the couple lived in the Lamberton area later making their home on a farm place near Sanborn. She was employed for a time with Bassett's Meat Center. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lamberton and the CCW and church volunteer.

Jean Bedner, 59, of Lamberton, died May 8, 1999 at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital Mankato.
Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton with burial in the Lamberton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton and continue for one hour prior to service at the church.
She is survived by her husband George Bedner of Lamberton; children, Rita and husband Steve Piotter of Sleepy Eye, Myron Bedner of Lamberton, Norman and wife Karen Bedner of Tracy, William and Charlene Bedner of Springfield, Maria Bedner, Jodene Bedner and Matthew Bedner all of Lamberton; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Erwin and Pat Matter of St. James, Mike Matter of Redwood Falls, Ron and wife Karen Matter of New Ulm, and Allen and wife Sheila Matter of Lamberton, Dave Matter of Lamberton; sisters, Marcella and husband Ken Solberg of New Ulm, Donna and husband Lamonte Henrichs of Sleepy Eye, Gloria and husband Richard Utz of Comfrey, Audrey and husband Lonnie Evers of New Ulm, Elaine Fromm of Comfrey, Marlene and husband David Wischstadt of Sleepy Eye, Marian and husband Jim Lewis of Clements, Sharyn and husband Art Sullivan of Springfield; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was born on Dec. 28, 1939 in Kansas City, Mo., to Martha Pfarr, who later married Erwin Matter. She was raised by aunt Lizzie Pfarr, uncles, Adolph and Carl Pfarr and grandparents, Julius and Helena Pfarr. She attended Lamberton Public School. On July 24, 1960 she married George Erwin Bedner at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton. The couple farmed north of Lamberton until moving to Douglas Apartments two years ago. She had been a resident of Valley View Manor in Lamberton off and on since 1994. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

James J. Maurer, 71, of 326 N. Payne in New Ulm died Saturday, May 8, 1999 at New Ulm Medical Center.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the Catholic Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the New Ulm veterans organizations.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30 - 9:30 a.m.Tuesday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Ruth and Jason Jobe of Sterling, Va., Deb Maurer of Minneapolis, and Janel Maurer of Maplewood; two grandchildren; sister, Mary Lovejoy of Los Angeles, Calif.; brothers, Paul Maurer of New Ulm and Bob Maurer of Sleepy Eye.
He was preceded in death by brother, Joe Maurer; and two sisters in infancy.
He was born on Jan. 15, 1928 in New Ulm to Frank and Margaret (Zwaschka) Maurer. He graduated from Cathedral High School in 1946. He was employed with the International Multifoods as an office manager at the Rye Mill in New Ulm until it burned down. He then moved to Melrose Park, Ill. and continued to work for International Multifoods until retiring in 1993. After retiring he moved back to New Ulm. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, the Seifert-Bianchi American Legion Post 32, Turner Hall in New Ulm and Mayflower Country Club in Fairfax.

Mary Jane Syverson, 78, of 108 Elm Street N.W. in Sleepy Eye died Sunday, May 9, 1999 at the New Ulm Medical Center.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye with burial in the Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye.
Visitation is 5 - 8 p.m. today and 7:30-10 a.m. Wednesday at the former Minnesota Valley Funeral Home building, 521 Main West in Sleepy Eye. There will be parish prayer service at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Frances Syverson of Santee, Calif.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, LaVonne and Casey Dowling of Sun Lakes, Ariz., Phyllis and Otto Roiger of Springfield, Dolores and Leo Priem of New Richland, Barbara and Reynold Hamann of Park Rapids; brothers and sister-in-law, Robert "Mainy" and Leona Johnson of St. Cloud, Charles Johnson of Waseca; and sister-in-law, Lois Johnson of Sleepy Eye.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Knute" Syverson in 1965; and brothers, Lawrence Johnson and James "Kenny" Johnson.
She was born on Jan. 5, 1921 in Waseca to John Raymond and Amelia (Gunderson) Johnson. She married Charles Hans Syverson on Sept. 20, 1941 at St. Mary's Parish House in Sleepy Eye. They lived in Sleepy Eye . She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye.

Anna Marie Jones, 92, of Buffalo and formerly of Sleepy Eye and Ely, died Sunday, May 9, 1999 in Buffalo.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye. with burial in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Faribault.
Visitation is 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
She is survived by nieces, Kathy and husband Mike Grausam of New Ulm, Fran Blank of Kearney, Mo., and Barbara and husband Frank Roetzler of Buffalo; nephew, Jerry and wife Robin Piehl of Sleepy Eye; and stepchildren, Dorothy Jones Linder of Oregon and Donald S. Jones of South Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her husband Cyril; brothers, Edward, Joseph and George; sisters, Mary Piehl and Sister M. Chrysentha; and nephew-in-law Richard Blank.
She was born July 26, 1906 in Sleepy Eye to George and Theresa (Saffert) Piehl. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in Sleepy Eye in 1924. She worked as an accountant at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester for William and Charles Mayo. She married Cyril E. Jones on July 25, 1942 in White Bear Lake. The couple made their home in Ely on Eagles Nest Lake. Cyril died in January of 1965. She moved to Ebenezer Home in Buffalo in June of 1988.

Jean Bedner, 59, of Lamberton, died May 8, 1999 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital Mankato.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton with burial in the Lamberton Cemetery.

Lenore Engelbrecht Adams, 66, of Madelia died May 7, 1999, at her home in Lincoln Township, rural Madelia.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Centenary United Methodist Church, Mankato. There will be a private family burial at Mount Hope Cemetery in St. James.
There is no visitation or reviewal. Sturm Funeral Home of St. James handled arrangements.
She is survived by her husband, James of rural Madelia; sons, Benjamin and Samuel, both of Minneapolis; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alfred and Mae Engelbrecht of Plymouth, Herbert and Arlene Engelbrecht of St. James; sisters, Martha Wassman of Ormsby, Adelia Schlomann of St. James, Bernice and husband Dean Haycraft of Lewisville, Helen and husband Wesley Josephson of Rosemount; and other relatives.
She was born Sept. 25, 1932, in St. James to Edward and Clara (Kueker) Engelbrecht. She graduated from St. James High School and Mankato State College with a major in elementary education. She taught school in Mankato, Michigan and Garden City. She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church in Mankato.

Veronica Goblirsch, 88, of Sleepy Eye, died Monday, May 10, 1999 in Sleepy Eye.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. and a Christian Mothers rosary at 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
She is survived by her husband Michael; children and spouses, Carol and Robert Cibuzar of Duluth , James and Jane of Sleepy Eye, Jerome and Lucy of Eagle Lake, Joan Meyer of Big Spring, Texas, Michael and Dianna of Coon Rapids, Gary and Judy of Bloomington, Charlene Forster of Sleepy Eye, Linda and Dick Schroepfer of Sleepy Eye, Roger and Cathy of New Ulm, Steven and Annette of Rochester, Susan and Ray Kral of Sleepy Eye and Mary Jo and Robert Hille of Sleepy Eye; 37 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie and Everett Soukup of Sleepy Eye, Adeline and William Harpel of Glencoe; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Forster of Selah, Wash., Agnes Forster of New Ulm, Delrose Forster of Faribault and Mary Turbes of Sleepy Eye.
She was preceded in death by sons, Joseph and Paul; brothers, Edward, Louis and Theodore; son-in-law Gilbert Forster and one grandson.
She was born Dec. 18, 1910 in Comfrey to Joseph and Sophia (Riederer) Forster. She attended country school. She married Michael L. Goblirsch on Feb. 18, 1935 in Comfrey. The couple made their home in Albin Township, where they farmed for many years. In 1971, they moved to Sleepy Eye and she worked at the Orchid Inn for several years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye and the Christian Mothers.

Lulu Kramer, 96, of Fairfax, formerly of New Ulm, died Monday, May 10, 1999, at Fairfax Community Nursing Home.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery in Good Thunder.
Visitation starts at 9 a.m. Thursday at the church. Arrangements are handled by Firle Funeral Home in New Ulm.
She is survived by sisters-in-law, Evelyn Brauch of Good Thunder, and Adell Kramer of New Ulm, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and two brothers.
She was born May 21, 1902, in Good Thunder to Ferdinand and Pauline (Wiedenheft) Darge. She attended school at St. John's Lutheran School in Good Thunder. In February 1930 she married Carl Kramer in Good Thunder. The couple farmed on the family farm in Good Thunder until moving to St. Paul, and later New Ulm. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm, honorary member of the Dorcas Society, and a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She became a resident of the Fairfax Community Nursing Home on Dec. 1, 1994.
