Gertrude Willhite, 90, of New Ulm, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, at New Ulm Medical Center.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. today at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and continues for one hour prior to the time of the service Tuesday at the church.
She is survived by her daughter, Paula Ludlum of New Ulm; son, Robert Willhite of Little Falls; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one-great great-grandchild; and brother, Martin Rauschke of Waukesha, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence Willhite on Sept. 24, 1982; brother, Armin Rauschke; sister, Edna Krause; grandsons, Perry and Michael Ludlum; daughter-in-law, Carol (Buege) Willhite.
She was born Feb. 23, 1909, in New Ulm to Fred and Bertha (Kuester) Rauschke. She attended St. Paul's Lutheran School and graduated from the high school department of Dr. Martin Luther College. She married Clarence Willhite on Oct. 14, 1930, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in New Ulm. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. She was also a Red Cross worker.

Amanda Radke, 93, of New Ulm, died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday, at United Church of Christ in New Ulm with burial to follow in the City Cemetery.
Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church. The Firle Funeral Home of New Ulm is handling arrangements.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Anita Radke of New Ulm; grandchildren, Paul Radke III and his wife Lydia of Eden Prairie, Jill Miller and her husband Tim of Hanska, Jon Radke and his fiance Denise Carlson of St. Louis Park; six great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul G. Radke on Jan. 12, 1972; son, Dr. Paul G. Radke on July 27, 1996; one brother and five sisters.
She was born July 30, 1906 to Herman and Emma (Neusch) Krahmer in Welcome. After graduating from Welcome High School in 1925, she attended Winona Teachers College. She married Paul G. Radke on June 17, 1931 in Rochester. They lived in New Ulm where she worked for the New Ulm Drive-inn Theatre. She did volunteer work for the American Red Cross and was recognized for her many years of service with the Blood Mobile. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in New Ulm, church Ladies Aid. She was a Grey Lady.

Florence H. Rosenau, 82, of Fairfax, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at Fairfax Community Home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St John Lutheran Church in Fairfax with burial in St John Lutheran Cemetery in Cairo Township, Renville County.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at St. John Lutheran Church in Fairfax and continues Wednesday one hour prior to the service.
Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel handled arrangements.
She is survived by sons, Ronald and wife Violet of Cosmos, Vernon and wife Betty of New Ulm, Melvin and wife Joleen of New Ulm, Gene and wife Alice of New Ulm, David and wife Lynette of Lester Prairie, Emil Jr. and wife Marlys of New Ulm, Larry and wife Barb of Stewart, Dennis and wife Deb of Brownton; daughters, Carol and husband Gene Kiecker of Hector, Diane Christiansen of Hutchinson, Marilyn and husband Arden Alsleben of Brownton; 32 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; brothers: Robert and wife Donna Dommer of Aroma Park, Ill., Rueben and wife Irene Dommer of Palos Hills, Illinois; sister, Mary Ann Vogel of St. Peter; in-laws, Wilbert and Doris Rosenau of Olivia, Verna Mude of Springfield, Leona Wog of Springfield, Art Rosenau of Springfield, Otto and Gertrude Rosenau of Springfield, Arlene and Sylvester Vogel of Springfield, Violet and Donald Krebs of Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband in October 1972; her parents; brother and sister-in-law, Wilbert and Alvera Dommer; sister and brother-in-law, Alvera and Clarence Gorres; brothers-in-law Raymond Vogel, Elvin Mude, and Orville Wog.
She was born Jan.15, 1917, in Waterbury Township, Redwood County, to Daniel and Katherine (Stadick) Dommer, She attended country school. She married Emil A. Rosenau on Oct. 15, 1936 in Waterbury Township at St. Matthew's Church parsonage. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Fairfax where she was active in Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens Club of Fairfax.

Jeanne Beerman, 65, of St. James, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, in St. James
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church, with burial in Calvary Cemetery, St. James.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Sturm Funeral Home, St. James. There will be a Christian Mothers rosary at 4 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Visitation will continue 7:30-9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond; daughters, Kathryn Beerman of Redondo Beach, Calif., and Teresa and husband Aaron Reinholz of Marion, Iowa; sons, Father Andrew Beerman of Rochester, and Karl Beerman of St. James; grandchildren, Anna and Jacob Reinholz; sister, Janet and husband Bernard Merta of Washington, N.C.; aunts, Angie and Agnes; two nephews; and one niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother John.
She was born Sept. 24, 1934, in Lakefield, to Milton and Mary (Bezdicek) Hecht. She graduated from Lakefield High School in 1952. She married Raymond Eugene Beerman on July 3, 1965 in Lakefield. They made their home in rural St. James. She participated in church activities, including women's circles, Christian Mothers and CCD teaching.

Emilie Lentz, 80, of Gaylord, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at Winthrop Good Samaritan Center.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Thursday at the Fenske Family Funeral Home, Gaylord; and continues one hour before the service at the church.
She is survived by husband, Henry "Jerry" Lentz of Winthrop; son and daughter-in-law, Sheldon and Karen Lentz of Pillager; daughter and sons-in-law, Eileen and Harold Pauly of Redwood Falls; brothers and sisters-in-law, Samuel and Lillian Hansch of Winthrop; Allie and Cora Hansch of Brownton; sisters, Mary Weber of Arlington, Helen Hahn of Casper, Wyo., Emma Ellig of Arlington; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Fred, Henry; sisters, Theresa and Gertrude.
She was born Jan. 5, 1919 in rural Gaylord to Samuel and Mary (Altergott) Hansch. She attended rural school. She married Henry "Jerry" Lentz on Nov. 24, 1944, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Gaylord. She worked for Rosenberg & Son and did seasonal work for Green Giant in Glencoe.

Lyla (Babel) Boock, 82, of New Ulm, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Firle Funeral Home in New Ulm and continues one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Sharon Babel of Forest Lake, Tim and Esther Babel of New Ulm; eight grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Alice Dannheim.
She was preceded in death by both husbands; sister, Laverna Gerland; and brothers, Elmer and Erwin Hoffmann.
She was born Aug. 4, 1917, to Joseph and Ida (Gollnick) Hoffmann in Cairo Township, Renville County. She attended St, Paul's Lutheran School in New Ulm and graduated from New Ulm High School in 1936. She married James F. Babel in 1939. James died on Feb. 5,1980. She married Walter Boock in 1983. Walter died in 1993. She worked at Wearwell Garment Factory and Windings Inc. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, St Paul's Ladies Aid, Red Cross Auxiliary, Golden Agers, Juniors Pioneers, American Legion Auxiliary and New Ulm Garden Club. She volunteered at New Ulm Chamber of Commerce as a guide for bus tours. She also volunteered at Highland Manor and the New Ulm Medical Center coffee shop. She became a resident of Highland Manor in 1994.

Evelyn Slaybaugh, 81, of Sleepy Eye, formerly of New Ulm died Monday, Oct. 11, 1999, at Sleepy Eye Care Center.
Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in New Ulm with burial to follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. today a Firle Funeral Home in New Ulm and one hour prior to services at the church. Orient Chapter No. 60 Order of the Eastern Star service will be held at 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She is survived by daughters, LaVonne Montgomery and her husband William of Kunkeltown, Penn., Geraldine Schwartz and her husband Norbert of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; son, Mike Slaybaugh and his wife Ronda of Dayton, Ohio; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Wilma Dunlap of Houston, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983 and an infant sister.
She was born Dec. 15, 1917, to Raymond and Cecelia Stuth in Buffalo, NY. As a child, she moved with her family to West Virginia and later to New Ulm, where she attended New Ulm High School. For several years, she worked as the records secretary at Union Hospital. She married Paul Slaybaugh on Nov. 8, 1947, in Plainview. They lived in New Ulm where she owned and operated the Mode-O-Day ladies apparel store. She became a resident of Sleepy Eye Care Center in 1996. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, its church circle and Ladies Aid. She belonged to Orient Chapter No. 60 Order of the Eastern Star and was past Worthy Matron. She was a member of the Shrine Auxiliary, Sioux Valley Hospital Auxiliary. She volunteered at the food shelf and for many other community groups.
Memorials are preferred.

Dorothy A. Ubel, 79, of rural New Ulm died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1999 at Lake Crystal Health Care Center.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial in the Catholic cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-10 a.m. Friday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The Catholic Aid Society will pray the rosary at 6:30 p.m., and there will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Dianna Ubel of rural New Ulm, and Donald and Revea Ubel of Canton, Ohio: six grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; eight-great grandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; brother Louis Nagel of South St. Paul; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Ubel of New Ulm; and many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur Ubel on Sept. 16, 1995; and a brother, Robert Nagel.
She was born Jan. 28, 1920, in Cottonwood Township, Brown County to August and Caroline (Kuebler) Nagel. She attended New Ulm Public School. She married Arthur Ubel on Feb. 8, 1938 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm. They farmed in Cambria Township, Blue Earth County until retiring in 1975. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm, and the Catholic Aid Society.

Evelyn M. Tobias, 83, of New Ulm, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at Fairfax Community Home.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm, with burial to follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday at Firle Funeral Home in New Ulm, and continues one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in -law, Richard and Audrey Tobias of Panama City, Fla., Nolan and Carol Tobias of Leander, Texas, Eugene and Aileen Tobias of Largo, Fla., Gerald and Lois Tobias of New Ulm, Marvin Tobias of Jacksonville, Fla., Rodney and Lora Tobias of Beaver Creek, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law, Jo Ann and her husband Keith Weber of Stillwater; 19 grandchildren; brother, Vernon and his wife Janet Kellen of Prescott Ariz.; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband Birdeen in April 1986; infant son, Roger Tobias; and sister, Bernice Everett.
She was born May 4,1916, in Madison to Mathias and Anna (Staebell) Kellen. She attended school in rural Madison. On May 16, 1936, she married Birdeen Tobias In Madison. They lived in Madison until 1949, when they moved to Windom. They made their home in Windom until 1955, when they moved to New Ulm. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm.

Loretta Rasmussen, 92, of Redwood Falls and formerly of Vesta, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999, at Sunwood Good Samaritan Care Center in Redwood Falls.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Redwood Falls with burial in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Clements.
Visitation is 4-8 Friday with a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m., and will continue from 8:30-10 a.m. Saturday at Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls.
She is survived by sons Arnold and wife Deanna Rasmussen of Burnsville, and Michael and wife Rachel Rasmussen of Westford, Mass.; three grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Florence Kramer of Wabasso, and Melvin Kramer of St. John Nursing Home in Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and six brothers.
She was born Jan.3, 1907, in Sleepy Eye to Joseph and Wilhelmina Engel Pelzel. She moved with her family to rural Clements in 1910 and attended District 67 Willow Lake Academy Schools. She married Arnold Rasmussen on Feb. 9, 1934 in Brookings, S.D. They lived in rural Clements and moved to Redwood Falls in 1940 until 1954 when they moved to Vesta and ran Arnold's Grocery until 1969. She then worked at the Vesta Cafe until 1990. Arnold died Feb.6, 1985. She moved to Redwood Falls in Oct. 1996 and entered Sunwood Good Samaritan Care Center in July 1999. She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Vesta where she was active in the Christian Mothers as treasurer.

Mabel Sifferath, 87, of Buffalo Lake, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1999, at Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center.
Services are 10 a.m. at Zio United Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake with burial in the Buffalo Lake City Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Friday at Zion United Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Memorials will be donated to the American Cancer Society and Renville County Hospice. Arrangements are handled by Hughes Funeral Home.
She is survived by her children, Ruth Jacobson and husband Lamont of Bella Vista, Ark., Janet Bredeken and husband Richard of rural Starbuck; Warren Sifferath and wife Florence of Buffalo Lake; sister, Violet Bloomquist and her husband Merrit of Nampa, Idaho; many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parent; husband, Walter, daughter, Donna Mae Sifferath; sisters, Frances Scharmer in infancy, Myrtle Flemming; brothers, Clifford, Ralph and Henry Scharmer.
She was born Feb.3, 1912 in Martinsburg Township, Renville County, to Herman and Helena (Mueller) Scharmer. She grew up in the Buffalo Lake area and attended District 40 rural schools. She married Walter August Sifferath on April 2, 1930 at the Church of the Nazarene in Buffalo Lake. The couple farmed south of Buffalo Lake. She worked at Buffalo Lake Nursing Home for many years. She was active in the Church of the Nazarene as the pianist, Sunday School teacher and held many offices. She was also involved with the Grafton Extension Home Study Group, and she was adult leader for the Grafton Merry Makers 4-H club. Prior to entering the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center, she lived at Parkview Manner in Benson for two years.
