Myra Hoeft, 85, of Madelia, died Wednesday, October 27, 1999, at Madelia Community Hospital.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church in Madelia with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Pilgrim Funeral Home in Madelia and continues one hour prior before the service Saturday at the church.
She is survived by daughters, Patricia Fastenau of Chandler, Ariz., Nancy Andersen and husband Bill of Lake Crystal, and Jane Lawrence and husband Rick of Mission Viejo, Calif.; son Doug and wife Sherene of Oceanside, Calif., nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard Luiken of Faribault, Robert Luiken of Lake Crystal, and Lyle Luiken of Weatherby, Miss.; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson, and infant daughter, seven sisters and one brother.
She was born Aug. 29, 1914, in Antioch, Ill., to Nick and Susan (Radditz) Luiken and grew up in the Mankato and Crystal Lake areas. She graduated from Crystal Lake High School in 1932. She married Carl Hoeft on Dec. 10, 1938, at her home. They farmed in rural Madelia until 1961 when they moved to Madelia. She worked at Mankato State University in housekeeping until retiring in 1979. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, WELCA, church circles, and Madelia Garden Club. She volunteered at Lutheran Memorial Home in Madelia.

Violet L. Hedine, 83, of Winthrop, died Wednesday, October 27, 1999, at Arlington Municipal Hospital.
Services will be in mid-November at Peace Lutheran Church, Winthrop, with burial in the city cemetery.
Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel, Winthrop is handling the arrangements.

Gertrude Fischer, 95, of Albert Lea, formerly of New Ulm, died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999 at Albert Lea Medical Center.
Services are tentatively set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Ulm, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church.
Firle Funeral Home, New Ulm, is in charge of arrangements.

Glenn Roiger, 77, of Hector, died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, at St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the St. John's Catholic church in Hector with burial in the Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Hughes Funeral Home in Hector with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Arrangements are with Raymond D. Hughes Funeral Homes, Inc. of Hector.

Rodney J. Stoneberg, 60, of Sleepy Eye, died Friday in Minneapolis.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery in Sleepy Eye.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-9 a.m. Monday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home on Sunday.
Rodney is survived by sister, Marilyn and her husband Jerry Fromm of Cambridge; sisters-in-law, Patricia Stoneberg of Tracy and Phyllis Stoneberg of Sleepy Eye; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rodney and Laura (Hesch) Stoneberg; brothers, Dennis in 1984, and Jerome in 1996.
Born in Cambridge Township, Rodney grew up in the Sleepy Eye area, attending St. Mary's Schools. Following school he worked for Pietrus Foods for a period of time, moved to Minneapolis to work in road construction, later returning to work at the Orchid Inn and Meyers Bar and Lounge until his health no longer allowed him to work. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Catholic Aid Association.

Hildegard A. Studer, 93 of Davis, W.V., formerly of New Ulm, died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999 at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial in the Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Hildegard is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and William Dempsey of Arlington, Va., Kathryn and Patrick Kotten of Davis, W.V.; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Jr. and Marjori Studer of Pine Grove, Pa., and Thomas and Jayne Studer of Charlotte, N.C.; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Studer Sr. on Jan. 27, 1996; a grandson, David Dempsey; five sisters; and seven brothers.
She was born Sept. 2, 1906 in Mayhue Lake, to John and Margaret (Schueller) Maurer. She attended Mayhue Lake Country School. She married Robert Studer Sr. on June 17, 1930 at
Annunciation Catholic Church in Mayhue Lake. After marriage they lived in New Ulm. Hildegard worked for the St. Mary's hot lunch program for 11 years, during the 1950's through
the 1960's. She also was a cook at the Turner Halle for three years. She was a resident of the Sleepy Eye Care Center in Sleepy Eye for two years, and has lived with her daughter in Davis
for the last three years. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm, the Catholic Daughters Society, and the St. Mary's Council of Catholic Women.

Cliff Hermel, 81, of St. Peter died Friday at the St. Peter Health Care Center in St. Peter.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Greenhill Cemetery in St. Peter.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Klein Funeral Home in St. Peter and one hour prior to Tuesday's services at the church.
Cliff is survived by his wife, Kathryn "Katie" Hermel of Mankato; a daughter, Susan and her husband John Cook of Algona, Iowa; sons, Tom and his wife Sharon Hermel of Pine River, Bradley Hermel of St. Peter; eight grandchildren; one great grandson; a brother, Howard and his wife Myrha Hermel of St. Peter; a sister, Oradell and husband Con Mers of Highland Park, Ill., and several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Byron Cook; and one great granddaughter, Martha Cook, and a special nephew, John Hermel.
Cliff Albert Hermel was born March 18, 1918, in Mankato, to Adolph and Marie (Kroeger) Hermel. He graduated from Nicollet High School in 1934. He entered into the wholesale business with his father, A.H. Hermel in 1935. He was on the road in the business for 37 years. He was very active and well known in music from 1927 onward. He worked with all bands in the territory. He married Kathryn Danielson on Dec. 20, 1939. He started his own band in 1945. Cliff served in the U.S. Navy during WWII on the Island of Eniwetok in the Marshall Islands, serving in the Construction Battalion. Cliff was a member of the VFW, the Cooties, the American Legion and a past commander of the American Legion, the Forty&Eight, the Eagles, the Moose, The Redman Club, secretary of the Local 602 American Federation of Musicians for 16 years, a member of the Local 602 American Federation of Musicians for 65 years, he was now considered a life member. Cliff belonged to the American Musicians Union, past president of St. Peter Drum & Bugle Corps for 11 years. He organized, owned and operated two Junior Drum and Bugle Corps called "The Crusaders" and "Black Knights" with his wife and family for 14 years. Cliff was a past President of the Minnesota Ballroom Operators Association and Board Member for many years. He operated the Gibbon Ballroom beginning in 1961. He also owned and operated Cliff's Bar in New Ulm. Cliff and Katie owned the music store and Radio Shack in St. Peter since 1979. Cliff was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church and served as usher for many years.

Linus L. Helget, 73, of Sleepy Eye, died Saturday, Oct.30, 1999, in New Ulm.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Sturm Funeral Home. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Florence Helget of Sleepy Eye; a daughter Shirley and husband Leon Sellner of Sleepy Eye; grandchildren, Bradley and wife Jennifer Sellner of Sleepy Eye; Randy Sellner of Sleepy Eye; Tammy Sellner and fiance Jeff Hinderman of Sleepy Eye; a great grandson, Samuel Sellner of Sleepy Eye; sisters, Baleria Brey of Klossner, and LaVerna and husband Leo Gulden of New Ulm.
He was preceded in death by his parents
He was born Dec. 14, 1925, in Stark Twp., Brown County, to Joseph and Loretta (Haala) Helget. He married Florence Braun on May 7, 1927, in Fairfax. Linus lived his entire life in Stark Township, Brown County on the family farm. He was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, attended school in Albin Township and St. Mary's School.

Angeline "Angie" Lindmeyer, 83, of 221 South Valley St. in New Ulm died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999 at her home.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial in the Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and from 7:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The St. Anne's Court will pray the rosary at 6:30 p.m. and there will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. both Monday evening at the funeral home.

Roman "Romie" M. Kuehn, 72, of 510 North Payne Street in New Ulm died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999 at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery, Soldiers Rest Section with full military honors conducted by the New Ulm Veterans organizations.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. TOday and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
Roman is survived by his wife, Dorothy Kuehn of New Ulm; daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Norman Luksik of Mahnomen; sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Arlene Sperl of New Ulm, Duane and Celeste Sperl of Puyallup, Washington; six grandchildren; sister, Malonie Rueckert of New Ulm; brothers, Howard Kuehn of St. Paul and Harold Kuehn of New Ulm; and also by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother John Kuehn Jr.
Roman was born March 30, 1927 in New Ulm to John and Elenore (Thedens) Kuehn. He attended Holy Trinity Catholic School in New Ulm. He enlisted in the United States Army, on June 22, 1945 until Dec. 13, 1946, serving in Germany and France. He married Dorothy Sievert on July 20, 1974 in Tacoma, Wash. They lived all their married lives in New Ulm. He worked for the Hauenstein Brewery for 11 years, and then he worked for (AMPI) American Milk Producers Inc. for 17 years. He retired in March 1989. He was a member of the American Legion Post #132 in New Ulm and a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm..

Roman Kuehn - Correction ; The burial for Roman Kuehn will be in New Ulm City Cemetery, Soldiers Rest Section with full military honors conducted by the New Ulm Veterans organizations.

Glenn Roiger, age 77, of Hector, died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, at St. Cloud Hospital.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Catholic Church in Hector, with burial in the Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the Hughes Funeral Home in Hector, with a 7 p.m. prayer service on Monday.
He was born Oct. 13, 1922 in Springfield to Anton and Anna (Wersal) Roiger.
He grew up in the Springfield-Wabasso area and graduated from Springfield High School in 1941
Glenn is survived by his wife Marie, of Hector, and by his children, Laura Roiger, of Denver, Colo.; David Roiger and wife Becky, of Lake Lillian; Pat Roiger, of Dassel, Cheryl Ewer and husband Larry, of Bismarck, N.D.; Yvonne Anderson and husband Bart, of Chisago City; Curt Roiger, of Buffalo Lake; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his brother Lawrence Roiger and wife Adeline, of Fairfax; his sister Betty Nachreiner and husband Leon of Sleepy Eye; by one sister-in-law Berdine Roiger, of Springfield and by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends,
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Wilbert and Jerry.
He married Marie Sellner on May 6, 1946 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Springfield. The couple lived in Springfield until 1952 when they moved to Buffalo Lake.In 1991, the couple moved from their farm home to a home in Hector. Through the years Glenn farmed, hauled freight for Durner's, Boniwell's Implement in Buffalo Lake, and worked at Johnnie Hill's Amoco and Unique Gifts for many years, He was a member ofSt. John's Catholic Church in Hector and had served in the past as a Eucharistic Minister, and was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters.

Margie Mae Schoelkoph, 82, of Danube died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999 at her home in Danube.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Church of Christ in Redwood Falls. Cremation will follow, with burial at a later date in the Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls, and on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.
Margie is survived by her husband, Roger of Danube, MN; daughter Lova Parker and husband James of Andover, KS; son Irvin and wife Deb of Ames, Iowa; a son, Lyle and wife Lila of Brooklyn Park; a daughter Verla Sims and husband Jonathan of Troy, Ohio; five grandchildren; and a sister-in-law Carolyn McCarty and husband Robert of Rochester. She was preceded by an infant son Neal, her parents and brothers Floyd and Bernard Bliss.
Margie Mae Schoelkoph was born Feb. 25, 1917 near Redwood Falls, the daughter of Earl and Florence (Garner) Bliss. She grew up 3-1/2 miles northwest of Redwood Falls where she attended a rural school, graduating from Redwood Falls High School in 1935. During her high school years she excelled as a violinist in the school orchestra and was in the choir. Margie was also very involved in 4-H and rural youth. One of her extra-curricular activities included driving a school bus. On Aug. 18, 1946 she married Roger Schoelkoph in Redwood Falls. In 1953 they moved to Danube, where Margie taught piano to many students until June 1997. She was a member of the "Little Symphony" area orchestra. She was also very active in Civic Club, Birthday Club, Federated Women's Club, Home Extension, and Senior Citizens. She belonged to the Church of Christ, where she was a dedicated member. She was 16 years old when she began playing piano for church, and was the church organist at the Redwood Falls Church of Christ for approximately 50 years. She also played violin solos from time to time, and taught Sunday School for a number of years.
