Coletta T. Postel, 85, of the Gil Mor Manor in Morgan, formerly of 122 North Franklin in New Ulm, died Wednesday, November 24, 1999 at the Sleepy Eye Municipal Hospital in Sleepy Eye.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday and 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service 6 p.m. Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Geraldine and Lyle Isackson, Mary Jane and Butch Gulden; sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Linda Postel, Richard and Holly Postel, all of New Ulm; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; sisters Marian Schmitz, Virginia Roberts, both of New Ulm.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Postel in 1983; sister Dorothy Raabe.
She was born Aug. 19, 1914 in Lafayette Township, Nicollet County to Henry and Appolonia (Meidl) Diepolder. She attended Lafayette Township Country School and graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1932. She married John Joseph Postel Oct. 4, 1938 in West Bend, Iowa.
After marriage they lived in New Ulm, where she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm, and the St. Elizabeth Catholic Aid Society in New Ulm.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to The Way of the Cross in New Ulm..

Elizabeth A. Luff, 94 of Arlington died Monday, Nov. 22 at Arlington Good Samaritan Center.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Arlington with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today, and from 8-10 a.m. Saturday at Fenske Funeral Home in Arlington. Parish prayers will be 7:30 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
She is survived by her son James Luff of Minneapolis, sister Margaret Tews of Marshfield, Wisc., nieces and nephews: james Jacobs, Julis Herdina, and Virginia Mrotek. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jacob C. Luff on Oct. 19, 1980; brothers Lawrence, Walter, Francis and Irwin Jacobs; sister Virginia Jacobs.
She was born July 16, 1905 in Big Stone City, S.D. to Frank and Virginia (Rodaer) Jacobs. She attended school in Big Stone City. She married Jacob Luff on May 19, 1925 in St. John's Catholic Church in Ortinville. She was a housewife and did seasonal work at the Big Stone Canning Company where she was floor lady for 52 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society, and the C.C.W. as well as past president of Royal Neighbors.

Lorena Hoeper, 88, of Starbuck, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 1999 at Minnewaska Lutheran Home, Starbuck.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Salem Lutheran Church, Madelia, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Madelia.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday at Pilgrim Funeral Home, Madelia, and one hour prior to services at the church.
She is survived by daughters, Bonnie and husband Siebert Zenke of Kensington and Lucille Cheney of Grove City; sons and wives, Dale and Grace of Madelia and Norman and Rhonda of Nelson; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters-in-law, Clara Miller of Lewisville and Minnie Miller of St. James; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Edwin and Harvey; sisters, Cecilia Bergeman and Della Mosel; half-brother Walter Henslin; and half-sister Hulda Zellmer.
She was born Oct. 13, 1911 in Fieldon Township, Watonwan County, to Gottfried and Cecilia (Schaefer) Miller. She grew up in rural Fieldon Township, where she attended rural schools. She married Walter Hoeper on Jan. 12, 1935 in St. James. They farmed in rural Madelia until retiring to Madelia in 1974. Walter died in August 1981. She remained in Madelia until 1995 when she moved to the Alexandria area. She had been at the nursing home since September 1999. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church.

Margaret S. Haggenmiller, 91 of Arlington died Wednesday, Nov. 24 at the Arlington Good Samaritan Center.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Arlington with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Sunday and 8-10 a.m. Monday at the Fenske Funeral Home in Arlington.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law: Robert and Sharon of Henderson, Bill and Maggie, and Joe Haggenmill, of Arlington; daughters and sons-in-law: Betty Kaveney of Kasota, and Joan and Earl Budahn of Arlington; sisters and brothers-in-law: Ann Stuedemann, Mary Tickner, both of Glencoe; Regina Cochran of Portage Luparairie, Manitoba; Helen and Ernie Slanga of Silver Lake, and Dolly and Lyle Dwinnell of Brownton; brothers-in-law: Bud Buska of Glencoe, and Louie Budahn of Courtland; brothers and sisters-in-law: Bill and Betty Harens of Gaylord, Charlie and Darlene Harens of Apple Valley, Sophia Harens of Mankato, Edna Harens of Arlington, and Lucille Harens of Monticello; 14 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Nicholas in 1977; son-in-law Wayne Kaveney, sisters Celeste Buska and Therese Budahn; brothers John, Leo, Joe, Bernie and Fritz Harens.
She was born Nov. 5, 1908 in Alexandria, S.D. to John and Elizabeth (Huberty) Harens. She married Nicholas J. Haggenmiller Jan. 14, 1936 in Glencoe. The couple farmed in the Arlington area. She was a member of St. Mary's CCW and the Arlington Golden Age Club.

Carol Vasilakes, 46, of Lengby, died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999 at her home.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at bethel Assembly Church, Fosston.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Monday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Carlin-Hoilmen Funeral Home, Fosston, and one hour prior to services at the church Tuesday.
She is survived by her husband Michael; children, Emily and Morgan; brother Paul Heller and wife Sue Urahn of Haddenfield, N.J.; sisters, Grace and husband Paul Bases of New Ulm and Jane Heller of Fosston; two nephews; and three nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was born Dec. 28, 1952 in New Ulm, to Lester and Ruth (Hinnenthal) Heller. She graduated from Wayzata Senior High School in 1971 and later attended the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. She worked as a secretary for Prudential Insurance Company in Minneapolis. In 1977, she moved to Lengby, where she worked at Good Foods Store. She married Michael Vasilakes on Jan. 27, 1980 in Ebro. After marriage they made their home south of Lengby.

Mildred Rieke, age 93 of Fairfax, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 1999, at the Fairfax Community Home.
Services will be Monday, 1:30 p.m., at the St. John Lutheran Church in Fairfax, with burial in the St, John Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be noon until thetime of the service, at the church on Monday. Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax is handling the arrangements.
She is survived by son, Wesley Rieke and his wife, Dorothy of Fairfax; daughters, Irene Rieke of Fairfax, Violet Rosenau and her husband, Ronald of Cosmos; four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brothers, Arnold Grams and his wife, Marlis of Fairfax, Milton Grams of Fairfax; sister-in-law, Florence Rieke of Fairfax; nieces, nephews, friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Husband, Clarence in 1981; and Sister, Viola in early childhood.
She was born on Dec. 1, 1905, in Ridgely Township, Nicollet County to to Gustav and Louisa (Zech) Grams. She married Clarence Rieke Sept. 12, 1928. The couple made their home and farmed in Cairo Township, Renville County. The moved into Fairfax in 1970. She was a long time member of St, John Lutheran Church in Fairfax.

Elmer Stolze, 80, of Cornelius, Ore., died Nov. 7, 1999, at Marquis Care Center in Forest Grove.
Graveside services were Nov. 11 in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. A memorial service followed at 2 p.m. at Mt Olive Lutheran Church, Forest Grove.
Survivors include his wife, Irma H. Stolze of Cornelius, Ore.; son, Robert Stolze of Cornelius, Ore.; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Paul Barber of Portland, Ore.; a step-granddaughter, Amie Barber, Portland. Ore.; a brother and sister-in-law, Lyle and Myrtle Stolze, New Ulm; many nieces, nephews, cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Stolze, and a sister, Janet Elvin.
He was born May 16, 1919, in St. James, a son of Edward H. and Minnie (Dannhoff) Stolze. He was raised on the family farm and attended school in St. James.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Mt. Olive Lutheran Church Building Fund, 2327 17th Ave., Forest Grove, Ore., 97116, or to the Washington County Hospice, 427 SE Eighth Ave., Hillsboro, Ore. 97123.

Leona M. Stadick, 84, of 20206 County Road #13, New Ulm died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999 at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm, with burial in the Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30-10 a.m. Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The Christian Mother's Society will pray the rosary at 4 p.m. Monday at the Cathedral. The St. Elizabeth Catholic Aid Society will pray the rosary at 6:30 p.m, followed by a parish prayer service 7:30 p.m. both Monday evening at the funeral home.
She is survived by daughters and son-in-law Betty and Richard Rathman of Albert Lea, Barbara Stadick of New Ulm; sons and daughters-in-law Kenneth Stadick of rural New Ulm, Edwin A. Jr. and Debra Stadick of New Ulm, Richard and LaVonne Stadick of Glenwood; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister Elizabeth Groebner of New Ulm; brother and sister-in-law Ben and Marion Groeber of Sleepy Eye; sister-in-law Dolores Groebner of New Ulm; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Edwin J. Stadick, Sr.; an adopted daughter Mary Ann Stadick; grandson, Jason Stadick; brothers George, Arthur, and Frank Groebner; sister Marie Isenberg, sister Florence Groebner in infancy; sister-in-law Martha Groebner. She was born Jan. 2, 1915 in New Ulm to George and Mary (Kraus) Groebner. She attended country school for many years and then attended the Holy Trinity Grade School in New Ulm. On May 18, 1936 she married Edwin J. Stadick, Sr. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. After marriage they farmed in Cottonwood Township, Brown County until 1970 when they retired but continued to live on the farm. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, the Christian Mother's Society and the St. Elizabeth Catholic Aid Society of New Ulm.

Joseph Treml, 89, of Clements, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999 at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Clements with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, also at the church. A parish prayer service will be 7 p.m., Monday with a Catholic Aid Rosary to follow at 7:30 p.m., both at the church. Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield is handling the arrangements.
He is survived by wife Louise of Clements; daughters and sons-in-law Elaine and Arlan Williams of Maple Grove, Mary Ann and Thomas Klehr of Jordan; sons and daughters-in-law Ronald and Janice Treml of Clements; Dennis and Barbara Treml of Lake Elmo; son-in-law Marc Frana of Charles City, Iowa; 17 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Monica Frana; brothers Frank, Valentine; sisters Mary Treml, Ann Shanahan.
He was born June 16, 1910 in Three Lakes Township, Redwood County, to Joseph, Sr. and Elizabeth (Mathiowetz) Treml. He grew up on the family farm outside Clements and attended rural school district 105. He married Louise Guetter Nov. 15, 1938 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso. He was a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Clements and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Aid Association.

Maria Morataya, was stillborn Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999.
There will be a graveside service 11 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary Cemetery, Madelia. Pilgrim Funeral Home, Madelia, is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by parents Andres Morataya and Erica Herrera; grandparents, Olivia DeLaCruz of Madelia, Octaviano Herrera of Mexico and Maria Morataya of El Salvador; brother Joel Herrera; and many aunts and uncles.

Miranda Wurtzberger, 21, of Sleepy Eye, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, as the result of an automobile accident.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. today and 7:30-10 a.m. Tuesday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She is survived by her parents, Daniel and Lisa Wurtzberger of Sleepy Eye; brother, Jesse and special friend Jennifer Fleck of New Ulm; sisters, Heidi and Katie of Sleepy Eye; maternal great-grandmother, Marion V. Domeier of New Ulm; maternal grandparents, Dennis and Florence Saffert of New Ulm; nephew, Quinton Wurtzberger of New Ulm; and numerous aunts, uncles and friends.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Florian and Eleanor Wurtzberger; and maternal great-grandfather Melvin Domeier.
She was born May 1, 1978, in New Ulm to Daniel and Lisa (Saffert) Wurtzberger. She graduated from Sleepy Eye High School in 1996. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye. She had been employed by A.U.I., Sleepy Eye; Carlson Craft, Mankato; and 3M, New Ulm.

Fern Hughes, 69, of New Ulm, formerly of Butternut Township, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Butternut, with burial in the City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Lake Crystal Mortuary, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church Wednesday.

Roy Syverson, 88, of Walnut Grove, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, at his home.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Walnut Grove United Methodist Church.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the church fellowship hall, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., and will continue one hour prior to services Wednesday in the church sanctuary.
Jacobson Funeral Home, Walnut Grove, is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha; children, Roy Earl and wife Delores of Tracy, Robert G. and wife Annie of Walnut Grove and Bonnie Jean Kor of Mitchell, S.D.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Ira of Blue Earth; and sisters, Violet Fitzgerald of Minneapolis and Opal Soderholm of Slayton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; one sister; and one grandchild.
He was born Jan. 16, 1911. on the family farm in Springdale Township, Redwood County, to Gilbert and Anna Dorthea (Larson) Syverson. He graduated from Tracy High School in 1929. He farmed with his father for five years. He and his brother Ira bought the Gambles Store in Rock Rapids, Iowa and later bought the Gambles Store in Blue Earth. He married Bertha Brann on Nov. 10, 1937 in North Mankato. The couple lived in Blue Earth, then moved to Walnut Grove and farmed. He was a member of the Springdale Township Board for 21 years; the Walnut Grove School Board for 12 years; and a Redwood County Commissioner for 16 years. He has been a member of the board for Western Community Action and the Mental Health Board. He was an active member of Walnut Grove United Methodist Church, where he was chairman of the building committee and taught Sunday School for 15 years. He was also a youth counselor for M.Y.F. for 18 years. He was instrumental in getting Continental Grain to Walnut Grove, as well as the designation of Plum Creek Park and Lake Laura. He was a member of the Walnut Grove Lions Club. He served on many other civic boards in Walnut Grove and Redwood County.
