Lyle S. Wendelschafer, 82, of rural St. Peter, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at the St. Peter Health Care Center.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Peter, with burial to follow in the Greenhill Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Klein Funeral Home in St. Peter, and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church,
He is survived by his wife, Myra Wendelschafer of rural St. Peter; daughters, Joyce Morrissette of Richfield, Ronda and her husband Dan Gapinski of Burnsville; son, Tom and his wife Mary Wendelschafer of St. Peter; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; eight nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carol Leverson.
He was born July 9, 1917, in Le Sueur County, to Otto and Nellie (Haney) Wendelschafer. He graduated from St. Peter High School. He farmed in Le Sueur County. On Jan., 3, 1940, he married Myra Wolf in New Ulm. He was on the board of directors for Le Center Creamery and Highway Ag for more than 30 years. He was a lifelong member of the St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church. He became a resident of the St. Peter Health Care Center in May 1999.
Memorials are preferred to the church.

Hulda Drusch, 95, of Morgan, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at Gil-Mor Manor Nursing Home in Morgan.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Morgan with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 9-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church.
Nelson Funeral Home handled arrangements.
She is survived by sisters, Lilly Schwerzler and Dora Kamholz, both of Morgan.
She was preceded in death by six brothers and seven sisters.
She was born on Jan. 22, 1904, in Morgan Township, Redwood County, to William and Clara (Fenske) Drusch. She attended District 109 country school. She worked as a receptionist for Dr. Laub and Dr. Alexander and then worked at the Redwood Falls Cafe. She retired in 1969. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.

Rose Welsch, 93, of Lucan, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at Wabasso Health Care Center.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4- p.m. today and continues Wednesday one hour prior to services at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. today followed by a Catholic Aid rosary.
Sunset Funeral Home in Wabasso is handling the arrangements.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Alois Pohlen of Madison, sister-in-law, Cecelia Welsch of the Wabasso Health Care Center, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John on Oct. 30, 1958; brothers, Joe, Carl, Leo, Tony, and Frank Plaetz; and sisters, Frances Wurscher, Theresa Bernardy, Johanna Manderscheid, and Mary Kolbe.
She was born June 2, 1906, in Lucan, to Anton and Johanna (Brau) Plaetz. She attended District 81 school. On Sept. 12, 193e, she married John Welsch at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, and she belonged to Catholic Aid Society, and Council of Catholic Women.

Forrest D. 'Fizz' Mariner, 75, of Jackson, died Dec. 11, 1999, at his home.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Jackson with burial in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Jackson.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Sathe and Son Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Valeria Mariner of Jackson; sons, Robert and wife Cheryl Mariner of Champlin, and David and wife Erika Mariner of Mallon, Nev.; daughters, MaryBeth and husband David Paulson of Jackson, Judy and her husband Ross Simmelink of Emmetsburg, Iowa, and Susan Mariner of Chandler, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; brothers, F. George and wife Betty Mariner of Sleepy Eye, John and his wife Lois Mariner of Sleepy Eye, Donald and wife Pat Mariner of Mission, Texas; sister Nancy Kiddie of Lafayette, Colo.; and sister-in-law, Marlys Mariner of Roseville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Stanley Frank Mariner; and brother, Henry Mariner.
He was born June 2, 1924, in Sanborn to Frank and Genevieve (Matson) Mariner. He graduated from Sanborn High School in 1942 as valedictorian. He married Valeria Madson on July 26, 1946, in Comfrey. He worked for the elevator in Sanborn. In 1947, he started to work for the elevator in Jackson, serving as manager from 1951-86. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Jackson. He served as mayor of Jackson for two terms and on the city council for three terms. He served as Master of the Masonic Lodge. He served on the hospital board. He was instrumental in the planing and organizing of the Vo-Tech in Jackson. He was a special ambassador to Korea in 1964 and India in 1966 for grains.

Orian "Orie" Forst, 84, Rt. 1, Sleepy Eye died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Fla.
Mass of Christian
burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-10 a.m. Friday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a rosary by St. John's Catholic Order of Foresters at 6:30 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
He is survived by his sisters and brother-in-law, Alycemarie "Tudy" Dangers, Elaine and Jim Braulick all of New Ulm; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Melanie Schroepfer; brothers, Sylvester Forst and Leonard Forst; a niece; and a nephew.
He was born on April 25, 1915, in Milford Township, Brown County to Frank J. and Margaret (Krzmarzick) Forst. He farmed with his father until age 18. He then picked potatoes in the Red River Valley and worked with a concrete company building churches. He operated a tavern in Morgan. He returned to the family farm after his father's death and farmed until he retired. In 1987, he took top prize in his age category scoring 99 out of 100 in trapshooting. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm and a member of the St. John's Court 698 Catholic Order of Foresters.
The family prefers memorials to the donor's choice in lieu of flowers.

Gladys Brown, 77, of 1404 S. German St., in New Ulm died Dec. 13, 1999 at her home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in New Ulm with burial in the City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today and continues 7:30-8:30 a.m. Thursday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and one hour before the service at the church on Thursday.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Carol Douglas of Mankato and her special friend, Charles Pizel, Linda and Gary Freeman, Debra and Gary Hjermstad, all of Hanska; son and daughter-in- law, James and Kris Northrup of Las Vegas, Nevada; 23 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Helen Melton of Little York, Ill., and Doris and Clayton Saunders, of New Boston, Ill.; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Arlene Clawson of New Boston, Ill.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale Brown; daughter, Patricia Brown; grandson, Dani Douglas; brothers, Fred, Blaine, Ernest and Jim Clawson, and Robert Pomeroy; and a sister, Bessa Mae Van Hook.
She was born March 16, 1922, in New Boston, Ill., to Charles and Ressa (Pauley) Clawson. She attended country school near Boston, Ill. She married Dale Brown on Sept. 7, 1946, in Little York, Ill. They lived in Minneapolis before purchasing Brown's Cafe in Hanska in 1971 and operated the cafe until 1981. She retired and moved into New Ulm in 1991. She was a member of the Hanska Businessmen's Association and a member of the First United Methodist Church in New Ulm.

Harvey Frederickson, 75, of St. James died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at St. James Health Services Hospital.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church in St. James. with burial with military honors in Mt. Hope Cemetery in St. James.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 8 a.m. until noon Thursday at the Pease Funeral Home in St. James and one hour before the service at the church on Thursday.
He is survived by his wife, Vernell; daughters, Valerie Martin and her husband, Yannick, Sheila Odegard, all of Vero Beach, Fla,, Nancy Odegard of Madelia, Nikki Frederickson of Crystal; son, Trent and his wife Joleen of rural St. James; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Vernon, Burton, Gerald and Elmo; and a sister, Mayme.
He was born on March 1, 1924 in Albin Township, Brown County, to Oliver and Gina (Helling) Frederickson. He attended District 73 school in Brown County. He served in the Army in the 106th Division in Europe from November 944 until August of 1946. He married Vernell Mae Sorbel on Dec. 8, 1951, at Lake Hanska Lutheran Church parsonage. They farmed in rural St. James. He also worked at S-T Industries in St. James from 1951 until 1990 and retired as foreman of the tool room. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, the VFW, the American Legion, the Eagles Club,all in St. James and the Moose Lodge in Mankato.

Norbert Reiffenberger, 78, of Madison, died Monday, Dec. 13, 1999, at the Madison Hospital.
Services are 10:30 a.m. today at St. Michael's, Catholic Church in Madison. Military honors will be provided by Madison V.F.W. Post 1656, Bellingham Kanthak-Matthies Post 441. Burial is in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Leona of Madison; daughters, Dolores and husband Tom Kirchberg of New Ulm, Mary and husband Gene Koosmann of Madison, Karen and husband Bruce Rudd of Lakeville; sons, Donald and wife Joan of Big Stone City, S.D., Roger of Brooklyn Center, Chuck and wife Korinne, and Leo and wife Lisa, both of Madison, Wis.; 19 grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren; sisters, Rosalia Smook of Luverne, Viola Roemeling of Adrian, Marie Coyour of Appleton, Irene Stolpman of St. Joseph, and Loretta Schmieg of Milbank, S.D.; brothers, Wilfred of Littleton, Colo., Lawrence of Watertown, S.D., and Raymond of Sioux Falls, S.D.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joseph in infancy, sister, Esther; and brothers, Joseph, Lester and Elmer.
He was born on March 8, 1921, in Adrian, to Lawrence and Clara (Lewis) Reiffenberger. He attended school at St. Adrian Church and School. He entered the U. S . Army from 1942-45 during World War II in Europe and was wounded on May 22, 1943. He married Leona Vortherms on Jan. 29, 1946, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Wilmont. They farmed in the Rosen area for 36 years. They retired and moved into Madison in 1982.

Alvina Jarvis, 77, of Fresno, Calif., formerly of Buffalo Lake, died Dec. 2, 1999, in Fresno, Calif.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Zion United Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake.
Arrangements with, Hughes Funeral Home, Hector.
She is survived by her sister, Ruby Johnston Ostroot of Hibbing, and nieces and nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Harvey, Ellis, Timothy, Floyd, George, and Victor Johnston; and sisters Pearl Johnston and Mary Alvina Johnston.
She was born March 7, 1922, in Big Lake, to Adam and Anna Marie Friedrich (Berg) Johnston. She grew up in Big Lake and graduated from high school there. She completed training as a medical technician in St. Paul. She married Alfred Jarvis in St. Paul. The couple moved to Buffalo Lake in 1950 and opened Pete's Fixit shop. She was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake.

Serene Hagevold, 97, of Franklin, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999, at Woo Dale Nursing Home in Redwood Falls
Services are 1:30 p.m. Friday at St, Luke's Lutheran Church in Franklin with burial in the Franklin Cemetery.
Visitation is one hour prior to the services at church.
She is survived by her daughters, Rosemary Larson and husband George of Dunnellon, Fla., Diane Larson of Franklin, and Linda Garbers and her husband Marvin of Bloomington; son Jerry Hagevold of Wheaton, Ill., six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Bonita Sherman of the Sunwood Good Samaritan Center in Redwood Falls; brother, Harley Johnson and his wife Alice of St. Anthony and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin; son John; brothers, Kenneth, Halfdan, and Miles Johnson; sisters, Norella Sather and Gladys Johnson.
She was born Aug. 22, 1902, in Franklin to Gustav and Sarah Martha (Rieke) Johnson. She married Melvin Hagevold Feb. 11, 1931, in Franklin. They lived in Franklin. She taught in rural schools and worked as a nurse. She also worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Brown. She worked at the Franklin Nursing Home for more than 12 years. She lived in the Centennial Apartments in Franklin until she entered the Wooddale Nursing Home in Redwood Falls in August 1995. She was a longtime member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Franklin, where she was active with the Ladies Aid.

Ruby Coulson, 73, Jeffers, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999, at her home.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church in Jeffers with burial in the Jeffers Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday and 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Anderson-Schmidt Funeral Home in Jeffers, and from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the church Saturday.
