David Cunningham, 43, of Madelia died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, at Madelia Community Hospital
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madelia with burial in Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the church and one hour before the service at the church. Pilgrim Funeral Home is handling t arrangements.
He is survived by son, Benjamine of Madelia; daughter, Nicole of Mankato; sisters., Roberta (Bobbie) Boelter and husband Virgil of Mankato, Janice McCabe and husband Rich of Olivia; brothers, Jerry and wife Toni of Rochester, Steve and wife LaVonne, and George and wife Jody all of Madelia, and Jeffrey and wife Dawn of Red Wing; special friend, Deb Haedt of Madelia; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was born March 10, 1956, in Madelia to J.T. and Ruth (Nasman) Cunningham. He graduated from Madelia High School in 1974. He married Karen Lunz on Dec. 30, 1977. They lived and farmed in rural Madelia until ill health forced his retirement in 1996. The couple divorced. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he served as a trustee and usher. He was also a member of the Watonwan County Deer Hunters Association and the Mankato area singles support group.

Ruth Benzel, 84, of Madelia died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at Madelia Community Hospital.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Salem Lutheran Church in Madelia with burial in the Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Pilgrim Funeral Home in Madelia and also one hour prior to the service at the church.
She is survived by sons, Donald L. and wife Sharon of St. James, Larry D. and wife Jeanne of Madelia, Kenneth A. and wife Judith of Jackson, Ohio; daughter JoAnn R. Cochran and husband Milo of Kasota; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Viola Golden of Prescott, Ariz.; brother, Elmer Mees and wife Evelyn of Blooming Prairie; sister-in-law, Doris Griner and husband Ray of Truman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant daughter, six sisters and two brothers.
She was born Nov. 6, 1915, in Willow Creek to Carl and Wilhelmina (Urban) Mees. She attended parochial school in Willow Creek and graduated from Garden City High School in 1933. She married Lawrence Benzel on June 19, 1933, in Lewisville. They farmed in rural Madelia until his death in March 1979. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Madelia where she taught Sunday School and was active in Martha and Rachel circles.

Marie Soiney, 85, of Redwood Falls, formerly of Thief River Falls, died on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, at Parkview Nursing Home in Belview.
Mass of Christian burial is 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Redwood Falls with private burial at a later date.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today with a prayer service at 6 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and will continue 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
She is survived by two daughters, Joy Rhoden and partner William Moeglein of Walker, Jan Revier and husband Ralph of Redwood Falls, seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Tracy and her husband Ed Jensen of Mesa, Ariz.; and brothers, Otto Arnold of Everett, Wash. nd Leo Arnold of Grand Forks, N.D.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Leonard Singer and Joe Soiney; brothers, John, Archie, William and Fred; and sister Rose Brunk.
She was born on Sept. 7, 1914, in Bow Island, Alberta, Canada to Thomas and Martha (Geatz) McElheney. She attended schools in North Dakota and Minnesota. She married Leonard Singer on Sept. 21, 1933, at Rhoda, Minnesota. The couple fanned for three years and then owned businesses in Trail, Rolland, and Okee. She worked as a linotype operator for the Oklee Herald also. She moved to Thief River Falls where she worked in retail stores and was manager of the Thief River Falls Hotel for a few years. She married Joe Soiney in November 1964. She was a member of the Veterans Auxiliary. She moved to Redwood Falls in 1993. She was a member of St. Catherine's Church.

Inez Hanna, 79, of Redwood Falls died on Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, at her home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Redwood Falls with burial in the Morton City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and continues one hour before the service Thursday at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Dale of Redwood Falls; children, Judy Lutgens and husband Butch of Lonsdale and their son Cole, Bob Hanna and wife Nancy of Morton and children Lori Goelz and husband Larry of Pipestone, Lisa Hanna and fiance Chris Warner of Bend, Ore., and Scott Hanna and wife Tina of White, S.D.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Ina Sieber and Evelyn Hogan.
She was born on April 17, 1920, in Sherman Township, Redwood County, to Otto and Anna (Patzwald) Sieber. She lived in Sherman Township. She graduated from Morton Public School in 1937. On Feb. 13, 1943, she married Dale Hanna at the Morton Methodist Church. They farmed in Sherman Township, Redwood County until 1979 when they moved to Redwood Falls. From 1980 until 1998 they wintered in Apache Junction, Arizona. She worked at the Franklin Nursing Home from 1963 until 1972. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a member and held various offices in Ladies Aid and circles at Morton and Redwood Falls Methodist Churches and also was a member of the Methadults Fellowship Group. She was a 4-H leader and a member of the Extension/Chatter Club. She belonged to the Levis and Lace Square Dance Club and was a member of the Redwood County Horticulture Club.

Lucille Wels, 77, of Rt. 2 Nicollet died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, at New Ulm Medical Center.
Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4 - 8 p.m. today a Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Nicollet and one hour before the service at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Herbert Wels, of Nicollet; daughter and son-in-law, Margo and Wayne Jeske of Minnetonka; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Joyleen Wels of Nicollet, son, Gerald Wels of Nicollet and his fiancee Roxann Rauschendorfer of Mankato, six grandchildren, Eric Jeske, Michele Fitzner and her husband Chad, Nichole Wels, Benjamin Wels, Cortney Kranz, and Darren Wels; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a grandson, Jonathon Wels.
She was born Oct. 1, 1922, in Granby Township, Nicollet County, to Emil and Hulda (Drill) Krohn. She married Herbert Wels on Sept. 27, 1946, at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet. They farmed in Granby Township, Nicollet County, until retiring in the early 1980s. She was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet.

Donald P. Engel, 74, of Yuma, Ariz., and formerly of New Ulm, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, of pneumonia.
A memorial service will be held in Yuma, Ariz. on Dec. 28. Gravesite rites will be held in New Ulm in the spring.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly of Sioux Falls, S.D., children, Kathryn Ubl and husband Joseph of Albert Lea; Paul Engel and wife Susan of San Diego, Calif., and William Engel of New York City; brother, Delphin and sisters Erna and Alice.
He was preceded in death his parents; brother, Clem; wife, Arlene; and daughter, Emily.
He was born Feb.23, 1925, in Amboy to Paul and Lydia Engel. He married Arlene Fischer of New Ulm on May 1, 1949. He owned and operated Fischer Auto in New Ulm. He also worked at Martinka Motors.

Gertrude A. Kiecker, 89, of Fairfax, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999 at Fairfax Community Home.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church in Fairfax with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 10-11 a.m. today at St. John Lutheran Church in Fairfax. Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-laws, Ruth and Lyle Nicolai of Janesville, Marie and Douglas "Duke" Kramer of Gibbon, and Margaret and Richard Waldschmidt of Hudson, Wis.; son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Elaine Kiecker of Fairfax; 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; sisters, Martha Schapekahm of New Ulm, and Ruth Krueger of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.; brother, Donald Seehusen of Wisconsin Dells, Wis.; sister-in-law, Jean Kiecker of Fairfax; and nieces, nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer J. Kiecker on Feb. 19, 1976; brother, Harold Seehusen; sisters, Wilhelmina Seehusen and Arlene Leidheiser; and three grandchildren.
She was born on Oct. 10, 1910, in Winfield Township, Renville County to Bertus and Anna (Schroer) Seehusen. She graduated from DMLC High School in 1928, attended one year of normal schooling at DMLC. She received her RN degree from the Union Hospital School of Nursing in New Ulm in 1933. She married Elmer J. Kiecker on Sept. 8, 1934 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. They lived in Fairfax She worked as a nurse part time at Union and Loretto hospitals in New Ulm for more than 20 years. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Fairfax, Ladies Aid, Ladies Choir, and she served as an officer of Lutheran Women's Mission Society and as an officer of other church committees.

Helen Becker, 80, of Madelia, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, at Madelia Community Hospital
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Salem Lutheran Church in Madelia with burial in the Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Pilgrim Funeral Home, and again one hour prior to the service at the church.
She is survived by son, Dean and wife Cathy of Madelia; three grandchildren; brothers, Duane and wife Barbara Pingeon of Windom, James and wife Patricia Pingeon of Marshall, Robert and wife Betty Pingeon of Seattle, Wash.; sister, V. Lorraine Doering and husband Walter of Madelia; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, George, David,, Marcel and Donald; nd sister Mabel Nelson.
She was born Feb.21, 1919, in Hartly, Iowa, to Marshall and Hazel (Bales) Pingeon. She grew up in the Butterfield and St. James area, attending school in Butterfield. She married Harry H. Becker on Dec. 11, 1952 at Salem Lutheran Church in Madelia. They farmed in rural Madelia until 1960. Harry died Jan. 1, 1986. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and was active in the Ladies Aid.

Josephine T. (Schiltgen) Lucker Mayer, 100, of Holy Family Residence Little Sisters of the Poor, St. Paul, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999. She is the mother of Bishop Raymond Lucker, head of the Catholic Diocese of New Ulm.
Mass of Christian burial is 2 p.m. Monday at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 8260 Hudson Blvd., Oakdale, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Little Sisters of the Poor, 330 Exchange St., St. Paul, with a prayer vigil at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Monday, noon to 2 p.m., at the church. Memorials are preferred to the Little Sisters of the Poor.
She is survived by her children, Rosemary Kern and husband Gregory of Richfield; Bishop Raymond A. Lucker of New Ulm; Mary Jo Haggerty and husband Frank of Roseville, Gerald A. Lucker and wife Mary of Pengilly, and Peggy Grobe and husband Don of Millville; 32 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Alphonse J. Lucker in 1940 and Joseph S. Mayer in 1992, and seven brothers and sisters.

Doris J. Sauer, 85, of Milwaukee, Wis., died Dec. 19, 1999.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.
Visitation is 8-9:30 a.m. at the church the day of the service.
She is survived by sisters, Naomi Radke of New Ulm, Charlotte Schilling of St. Paul, Elenore Braun of Milwaukee, Wis., Eunice Kelly of New Ulm, and Rhoda Baer of Pierre, S.D., and by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Esther Sauer; sister, Ruth Sauer; and brother, Norman E. Sauer.

Edwin Meyer, 85, of Gaylord, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999, at Arlington Good Samaritan Center.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Gaylord with burial in the church cemetery,
Visitation is 9-10:30 a.m. Monday at the church. Egesdal Funeral Home, Gaylord, handled arrangements.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Alvin and Adeline Meyer and Harry and Esther Meyer, both of Gaylord; sister, Mabel Wudalmann of Gaylord; four nephews and two nieces,
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Benjamin; half-brothers, Fred Hahn and Wilson Hahn; half-sisters, Lillie Otto and Clara Hahn; and brother-in-Law, Ernest Otto.
He was born Jan. 28, 1914, in Sibley Township, Sibley County, to George and Herminnie (Franke) Meyer. He worked an a farmhand for many Sibley Township farmers. He made his home and worked at the Esther Quast farm for more than 20 years. He was a member of St, Paul's Lutheran Church in Gaylord. He had been a resident of the Arlington Good Samaritan Center since 1991.

Eunice Bullert, 78, of Arlington, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1999, at Arlington Good Samaritan Center.
Services are 2:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Arlington, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 1-2:30 p.m. at the church. Fenske Funeral Homes, Arlington, handled arrangements.
She is survived by husband, Eberhard Bullert of Arlington; daughters and sons-in-law, Marlys and Brian Berndt of Arlington, Marlene and Gary Enter of Courtland, Margie and Greg Stumm of Chaska; three grandchildren; sister, Bernice Witter of Rosemount; sister-in-law, Martha Voight of Arlington; brother-in-law, Richard Bullert of Hutchinson; nieces and nephews.
She was born Dec. 16, 1921, in Green Isle Township to Otto and Anna (Tuchtenhagen) Priem. She married Eberhard Bullert on Feb. 24, 1946 at St. Paul Ev. Luther Church parsonage. She worked in housekeeping at Arlington Municipal Hospital from 1971 to 1986.
