Milly M. Stephan, 74, of Long Prairie and formerly of St. James, died Friday, Dec. 24, 1999, at St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre.
Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Long Prairie with burial in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Bertha.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. today at Stephan-Stein Funeral Home in Long Prairie.
She is survived by her husband Myron; children, Marsha and her husband Erv Huwe of Winthrop, Brenda Warner of Minneapolis, and Rhonda Kleven of Sauk Centre; four grandchildren; brother, Emil Schroeder of Leesville, S.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband; sisters, Malinda Schroeder, Elaine Schroeder, Ruth Sheldon, Dorothy Kraffenhoft, and brother Elroy Schroeder.
She was born Jan.11, 1925, in Butterfield to Emil and Annetta (Senf) Schroeder. She grew up in Butterfield and worked for the railroad in St. James, and then for the Federal Land Bank Association in St. James. She married Arthur P. Steinbert on July 11, 1954. He died March 31, 1983. In 1975, the couple moved to Sauk Centre where she worked at St. Michael's Hospital as an accounting clerk until 1978. They moved to Long Prairie where she worked as a deputy clerk at the Long Prairie City Hall until retiring in 1990. She married Myron Stephan on July 16, 1994 in Long Prairie. She lived with her daughter Rhonda in Sauk Centre due to declining health since July 1999.

Orris Buboltz, 76, of Buffalo Lake, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, at Olivia Healthcare Center.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Wellington Township, rural Fairfax with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hughes Funeral Home in Hector and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
He is survived by his wife, VaLoris Buboltz, of Buffalo Lake, son, Ricky Buboltz and wife Karen, of Buffalo Lake; daughter Candy Maio and friend Tom Koopman of Buffalo Lake; six grandchildren; brothers: Harris Buboltz and wife Betty, of Hector; Veirl Buboltz of Hector; Harlan Buboltz of St. Louis Park; sister, Iona Gruenhagen of Gibbon; mother-in-law, Orda Dahl of Franklin; sister-in-law, Adeline Buboltz of Hector; and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cindy; sister, and brother, Eldon.
He was born Sept. 2, 1923, in Wellington Township, Renville County, to Helmuth and Ella (Berger) Buboltz. He grew up in Wellington Township and attended Emanuel Lutheran Parochial School. He married VaLoris Dahl on Sept. 12, 1951, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Franklin.The couple lived and farmed in Grafton Township for 32 years. and in 1983 moved into Buffalo Lake. He became a resident of Olivia Healthcare Center since April in 1997. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church.

Joseph Pivonka, 70, of Rochester and formerly of New Ulm, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Chatfield Lutheran Church in Chatfield. There will be no visitation.
Riley Funeral Home in Rochester is handling the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; three sons; three daughters; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He graduated from New Ulm High School in 1947. He was also employed by Kraft Foods from 1960-73.

Keith F. Sing, 74, of Gaylord and formerly of Gibbon and Brainerd, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, at his home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord with burial in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Osceola Township, Bird Island.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Fenske Family Funeral Home in Gaylord and continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Doris of Gaylord; sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Deborah of Moorhead, Ian and Kimberly of Gaylord, and Sawn of Burnsville; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Allen Pelvit of Ottumwa, Iowa; sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn and Leland Buhman of Hutchinson; sisters-in-law, Mary Sing of Bird Island, and Marlys Sing of Lake Lillian; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Larice Sing in 1977; daughter; and brothers, Delbert and Lloyd Sing.
He was born in Osceola Township, Renville County, to Clarence and Lillian (Kromer) Sing on Nov. 22, 1925. He graduated from Bird Island High School in 1944. He entered the U.S. Army on March 19, 1945, and was discharged Feb. 23, 1946. He married Doris Alh on April 24, 1949, at United Methodist Church in Hector. He and his wife farmed at Bird Island and Gibbon area until 1985 when they moved to the Brainerd area where he was employed by the Brainerd School district for 10 years. They moved to Gaylord in 1997. He was a member of the Brainerd VFW, Gaylord Legion. He was a former Gibbon Lion, Legion Post Commander, council member of Augustana Lutheran Church and was custodian at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Delfin "Schmidtty" Schmidt, 75, of Osakis, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1999, at Douglass County Hospital in Alexandria.
Services were Monday at the Osakis Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Olja Schmidt; children, Jim Schmidt of Sauk Centre, Darwin and Cherry Schmidt of Albany, Cindy and Craig Soltis of Royalton, Kathy and Jeff Waltzing of Crystal, Brenda and Art Daugherty of St. James; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Linda Schmidt and a grandson, Michael Schmidt.
He was born Feb. 22, 1924, to August and Lydia (Altenburg) Schmidt in Springfield. He attended school in Springfield and then began farming. He married Olga Kreft on Oct. 12, 1947 in Gibbon. They moved to rural Osakis in 1953 and continued farming until 1960. He then went to work as a truck driver for Macey Construction of West Union. In 1971 they moved to Osakis. He retired in 1983.

Edward Garbrecht, 85, of rural St. Peter, died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, at Franklin Healthcare Center.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Nicollet, with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery, New Ulm.
Visitation is 9:30 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the church.
Firle Funeral Home, New Ulm, is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his daughter, Betty Lou Rosenau and husband Vernon of New Ulm; grandchildren, Randy Rosenau and wife Cindy of New Ulm, and Becky Rosenau and special friend Jason Melzer of New Ulm; great-grandchildren, Amanda, Sarah and Travis Rosenau of New Ulm; sister, Esther Brueske and husband Art of New Ulm; brother-in-law, Wilford Maas and wife Ardella of Nicollet; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marie and brother Elmer.
He was born March 8, 1914, in Courtland Township, Nicollet County, to Edward and Wilhelmina (Pehling) Garbrecht. He married Marie Maas on June 12, 1935, in Nicollet. They farmed in Nicollet County, and he also did tiling. He retired in 1993. His wife died in 1987. He entered the nursing home in October 1999.

Arnie Dahms, 63, of Redwood Falls died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, at the Redwood Falls Hospital.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls with burial in the Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in rural Redwood Falls with military rites by the American Legion, V.F.W. and National Guard units of Redwood Falls.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and continues on Thursday from 8:30-1:30 a.m. at Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials preferred to the American Heart Association.
He is survived by his wife LaMae of Redwood Falls; daughter, Melissa Ruschmeyer and husband Dan and their son Carson of Eagle Lake ; brothers and sisters; Elmer Dahms and wife Emma of Clements, Lee Dahms and wife Zerelda of Redwood Falls, Delores Mertz and husband Floyd of Hecla, S.D., Lenard Dahms and wife Elaine of Redwood Falls, Donald Dahms and wife Germaine of Clements, Meta Tordsen and husband Glen of Waterloo, Iowa, Anna Mae Ness of Riverside, Calif., Arthur Dahms and wife Florence of Ada, Okla., and Gerald Dahms and wife Helen of Bertha; and many nieces and nephews.
He was born on Jan. 2, 1936, in Redwood Falls to Clarence and Pauline (Lyle) Dahms. He graduated from Redwood Falls High School 1954. He served in the Army. He married LaMae Haseleu on June 9, 1962, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Springfield. He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.

Berniece Kastner, 84 of Lamberton, died Monday Dec. 27, 1999.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton with burial in the Lamberton City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-9 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton, and will continue one hour before the service at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Armin of Lamberton; sister, Lila Ness of Webster, Wis.; brother, Donald and his wife Arlis Quiring of Lamberton; sisters-in-law, Loretta Quiring of Lamberton, Shirley Quiring of Bloomington, Calif., and Edna Erickson of Pharr, Texas; brother-in-law, Elmer Kastner of McIntosh; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Leona Mattison, Vivian Quiring and Lilace Quiring; brothers Elton, Lawrence and Walter Quiring.
She was born July 17, 1915, in Highwater Township, Cottonwood County, to Peter J. and Mena (Ellingson) Quiring. She attended country school. She married Armin G. Kastner on March 12, 1944, at Sharon Lutheran Church in Lamberton. The couple farmed west of Lamberton. They moved into Lamberton in 1984. She became a resident of Valley View Nursing Home in March. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, WELCA, and Altar Guild. She and her husband served as custodians at the church for many years.

Stephen Fox, 56, of Madelia died Dec. 27, 1999, at Madelia Community Hospital.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Madelia with burial in Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation is 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Pilgrim Funeral Home in Madelia.
He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Fox of Madelia; brothers, Richard of Belle Plaine and William and wife Cari of Shakopee; nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his father.
He was born Feb. 22, 1943, of Jack and Elizabeth (Cooling) Fox in Madelia. He was handicapped from birth and lived at the REM home in Madelia.

Marlin M. Langhorst, 78, of Shakopee, formerly of rural Courtland, died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, at his home in Shakopee.
Services are 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Christ Lutheran Church in Shakopee with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Friday.
Visitation is 4 - 8 p.m. today at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue 9-11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Christ Lutheran Church in Shakopee.
He is survived by companion, Vivian Wilkinson of Shakopee; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and John Woolery of Apple Valley, and Debra and Roger Toomey of Simpsonville, S.C.; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Christine Langhorst of Shakopee; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Vera Hulke of Elgin, Ill., Ardella Austad of Lakeville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Elmer and Verone Langhorst of Gaylord, Wallace and Delores Langhorst of Savage; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy Langhorst on May 14, 1996; sister, Loretta Ginkel; brothers-in-law, Ervin Hulke, Kris Austad, and George Ginkel.
He was born April 16, 1921, in Courtland Township, Nicollet County to Martin and Alwina (Voges) Langhorst. He attended Courtland Township School. He married Dorothy Weller on March 21, 1939 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Courtland Township, Nicollet County. They farmed in rural Bernadotte, Courtland and Nicollet townships until 1948. He then he owned and operated the Lakeville Hatchery in Lakeville until 1961. He owned and operated "The 55 Club and Bar in Loretto until 1965. He worked for Bloedel Monument, selling monuments, then later he ran the Peavey Commodities in New Ulm for 12 years. He moved to Minneapolis in 1991 and to Shakopee on July 3, 1998.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Shakopee, the Red Stone Sportsman Club of rural New Ulm and Courtland areas, a former Lakeville volunteer fireman. He played tuba in various bands around New Ulm.

Marcella Zins, 87, of Hutchinson, formerly of New Ulm, died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, at her home.
Mass of Christian burial is 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson, with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today at Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson, and at the church one hour prior to the service. There will be a CCW rosary at 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 8:15 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Helen R. Sellner, 75, of Sleepy Eye, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 1999, in Sleepy Eye.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. A combined Christian Mothers and Catholic Aid Association rosary is at 4 p.m. Thursday and a parish prayer service is at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
She is survived by her husband, Andrew; sons, Tom and wife Kathy of Sleepy Eye, Dominic and wife Julie of Sleepy Eye, John and wife Vicki of Sleepy Eye, Andrew Jr. of Sleepy Eye, Jim and wife Cindy of Comfrey; daughters, Jean and husband Lyle Turbes of New Ulm, Jeanette and husband Steve Lax of Sleepy Eye, Monica and husband Rick Lax of Sleepy Eye and JoAnn and husband Ken Shumacher of Sleepy Eye; 20 grandchildren; sister, Donna and husband Sylvan Shumacher of Sleepy Eye; sisters-in-law, Leona Seidl of Sleepy Eye and Georgeen Dietz of Arizona; brother-in-law, Philip and wife Catherine Sellner of Sleepy Eye; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Clarence Dietz; sister, Betty Dietz; and grandson, Christopher Lax.
She was born Nov. 28, 1924, in Kenosha, Wis., to Joseph P. and Louise (Schwinghammer) Dietz. At the age of five, her family moved to Springfield. Two years later, the family moved to Sleepy Eye. She attended St. Mary's School and graduated in 1942. She worked Pietrus Egg Drying Plant for several years and for a short time at Del Monte. She married Andrew Sellner on Oct. 7, 1952, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. The couple farmed south of Sleepy Eye.
