Lucile Jones, of New Ulm and formerly of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999, at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Services are 10 a.m. Friday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, in Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte, Fla..
Visitation is one hour prior to the time of the service at the funeral home on Friday.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet Brewer and her special friend, Lester Geiger, Sr., both of New Ulm; daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Frank Lenz of Minneapolis; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and a sister-in-law, Marnie Murphy of Forest Lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Noble W. Jones in 1978; brother, George "Jerry" Murphy; and one niece and one nephew.
She was born July 30, 1909, in St. Paul to George and Almina (Hurd) Murphy. She graduated from Johnson High School in St. Paul and received her teacher's training in St. Paul. She married Noble W. Jones on Aug. 10, 1931, in St. Paul. They lived in St. Paul and in 1944 they moved to Minneapolis. She worked for 40 years as a proofreader for Brown & Bigelow in St. Paul. In 1973 they moved to Port Charlotte, Fla. In October of 1996 she became a resident of the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Port Charlotte, Fla.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to donor's choice.

Judy A. Stearns, 50, of Gaylord died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999, at Arlington Municipal Hospital.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Gaylord with burial in the Cambria Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at Fenske Family Funeral Home in Gaylord and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. A parish prayer service will be held 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas of Gaylord; sons and daughters-in-law: Keith and Amy of Lake Crystal, and Brian of Mankato; daughters, Beth of St. Cloud, Dawn of Gaylord and Darcy of Gaylord; father, Mervin "Butch" Jones of Lake Crystal; brothers and sisters-in-law, Winton Jones and friend Dee Ann of Cambria, and Richard and Marsha Jones of Cambria; sisters and brothers-in-law, Vickie and Michael Randall of Cambria, Connie Jones of New Ulm; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
She was born Oct. 7, 1949, in New Ulm to Mervin and De Loris (Berg) Jones. She graduated from New Ulm High School in 1967 and from Mankato State University with a B.S. in elementary education. She married Thomas J. Stearns on Sept. 23, 1972, in Cambria. She worked at Mankato Regional Library and the Lake Crystal City Library before moving to Gaylord where she worked at the Gaylord Elementary School from 1986 to the present. She was a member of the Cambria Legion Pos 329 Auxiliary, Gaylord Home Extension and Gaylord Birthday Club. She was an assistant firearms safety instructor for Gaylord students.

Helen R. Sellner, 75, of Sleepy Eye, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999, in Sleepy Eye.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. A combined Christian Mothers and Catholic Aid Association rosary is at 4 p.m. Thursday and a parish prayer service is at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
She is survived by her husband, Andrew; sons, Tom and wife Kathy of Sleepy Eye, Dominic and wife Julie of Sleepy Eye, John and wife Vicki of Sleepy Eye, Andrew Jr. of Sleepy Eye, Jim and wife Judy of Comfrey; daughters, Jean and husband Lyle Turbes of New Ulm, Jeanette and husband Steve Lax of Sleepy Eye, Monica and husband Rick Lax of Sleepy Eye and JoAnn and husband Ken Shumacher of Sleepy Eye; 20 grandchildren; sister, Donna and husband Sylvan Shumacher of Sleepy Eye; sisters-in-law, Leona Seidl of Sleepy Eye and Georgeen Dietz of Arizona; brother-in-law, Philip and wife Catherine Sellner of Sleepy Eye; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Clarence Dietz; sister, Betty Dietz; and grandson, Christopher Lax.
She was born Nov. 28, 1924, in Kenosha, Wis., to Joseph P. and Louise (Schwinghammer) Dietz. At the age of five, her family moved to Springfield. Two years later, the family moved to Sleepy Eye. She attended St. Mary's School and graduated in 1942. She worked Pietrus Egg Drying Plant for several years and for a short time at Del Monte. She married Andrew Sellner on Oct. 7, 1952, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. The couple farmed south of Sleepy Eye.

Gerald Jacobson, 61, of 309 S. Washington, in New Ulm, died Tuesday, December 28, 1999 at New Ulm Medical Center.
Memorial service is 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. Family will receive friends and relatives from 4 - 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen Jacobson; children, Christopher Jacobson, Audra Robbins, Jason Jacobson, Brigitta Jacobson; and grandchildren, Emerald Robbins, Camden Robbins, Alexandra Jacobson and Narya Jacobson.
He was born on May 13, 1938, in Appleton, Wis., to Arthur and Etta (Schulz) Jacobson. He married Eileen Pruetz on Aug. 9, 1964, in Bay City, Mich. He served in the teaching ministry. He also served the community on several boards. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the Brown County Historical Society or Martin Luther College.

Marcella Zins, 87, of Hutchinson, formerly New Ulm, died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial is 9:30 a.m. today, at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Marilyn and David Gleisner of Atwater, Wallace and Betty Zins of West Milton, Ohio, Sandy Williamson of Hutchinson, Linda and Paul Ginkel of Prairie du Chien, Wis., and Bryan Zins of St. Bonifacius; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters Agnes Kopetski and Viola Zins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a granddaughter, and brothers and sisters.
She was born Jan. 31, 1912, in Granby Township, Nicollet County, to Nick and Anna (Frantag) Sondag. M She attended country school in Granby. She married Fred Zins. She was an active member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson.

Jean C. Doyle, 59, of Welcome died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Kramer Family Funeral Chapel in Welcome with burial in the St. Olaf Lutheran Cemetery in rural Odin.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Kramer Family Funeral Home in Welcome and one hour before the service on Friday.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel; son, Michael of Albert Lea; mother, Marjorie Mathistad of Butterfield; brothers, Wayne Mathistad and wife LaVonne of St. James, and Larry Mathistad and wife Denise of Evanston, Wyo.; sisters: Doris Brude and her husband Burton of Rapidan, and Judy Gedicke and her husband Ron of Springfield, Mo.; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father, Palmer Mathistad. She was born March 7, 1940, in Cedar Township, Martin County, to Palmer and Marjorie (Bever) Mathistad. She was a 1958 graduate of Butterfield-Odin High School. She attended Mankato Commercial College. She was employed at Brett's Department Store in Mankato in the office. She married Daniel C. Doyle on Sept. 25, 1965, in Mankato. They lived in Albert Lea and moved to Welcome in 1989.

Bertha (Mrs. Lyle) Muehlbauer,77, of rural New Ulm died Wednesday December 29, 1999 at the Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The Christian Mothers Sociey will pray the rosary at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
She is survived by her husband, Lyle of rural New Ulm; daughter and son-in-law, Marlys and James McLean of Andover; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Susan Muehlbauer of Sleepy Eye; brothers and sister-in-law, Leonard Sellner, and Clement and Dorothy Sellner, all of Sleepy Eye; sisters and brother-in-law, Clara Schroepfer, Amelia Heitzer, all of Sleepy Eye, Catherine and Harold Johnson of New Ulm, and Martha Weber, and Angeline and Lester Weber all of Gibbon, and Anna Hacker of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William, Albert, Christopher, Edmund, and Florian Sellner; and sisters, Mary Moldan, and Mathilda Blumhoefer.
She was born Feb. 4, 1922 in Albin Township, Brown County to Christopher and Marianna (Schloegl) Sellner. She attended country school in Albin Township, Brown County, and graduated from St. Mary's High School in Sleepy Eye. She received her teaching degree at the Mankato Teachers College in Mankato and taught elementary education both at Albin and Mulligan Township Country Schools. She married Lyle Muehlbauer June 16, 1948 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. They farmed for 40 years in Lafayette Township, Nicollet County, where she was a homemaker. They remained on the farm after they retired. She taught religious education at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity for nine years. She was a member of the Christian Mothers Society, and the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm.

Lt. Col. Robert L. Buenger, 79, of Sacramento, formerly of New Ulm, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 1999, in Sacramento.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, at the Sacramento Garden Chapel Mortuary, 6100 Stockton Blvd., with entombment in the Sacramento Memorial Lawn Mausoleum.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at mortuary.
He is survived by his wife, Mary R. Buenger of Sacramento; his children, Lizabeth Loughry-Warren of Sacramento, Barbara Marvelli of Reno, Nev., Lowell Cary of San Francisco, and Nancy McNaughton of Newport Beach, Calif.; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; sister, Doris Spelbrink of New Ulm.
He was born in New Ulm, and lived in the Sacramento area since 1970 after completing a 29 year career with the U.S. Air Force as a pilot, serving in three wars.
Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimers Association, 2222 Watt Ave., Sacramento, Calif. 95825.

Ralph Jones, 92, of Gaylord, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, at the Gaylord Lakeview Home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the United Church of Christ in Gaylord, with burial in the Gaylord Municipal Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Egesdal Funeral Home in Gaylord, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Florence Jones of Gaylord; sons, Bruce A. Jones and Sue Lovell of St. Louis Park, and Douglas R. and wife Sarah Jones of Edina; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister, Laura Jenkins of Winnebago; a sister-in-law, Amelia Gleason of Slayton; and a brother-in-law, Leland Priebe of Hadley; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.
He was born Dec. 7, 1907, in Judson Township, Blue Earth County, rural Mankato, to Richard F. and Mary (Jones) Jones. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1928. He married Florence Priebe on June 10, 1931, at the Priebe homestead in rural Slayton. He was employed by Mueller Brothers Ford in Mankato. He purchased the Ford dealership in Gaylord in 1939. He owned and operated Ralph Jones Motor Sales until 1976. He was active in his community, and held many leadership roles in the United Church of Christ. He was a charter member of the Gaylord Rotary Club, a member of the Gaylord City Council, the Mason Lodge IOOF, Gaylord Community Development Corporation, and Gaylord Public School Board of Education.
Memorials are preferred to the United Church of Christ and the Gaylord Rotary.

Selmer Johnson, 90, of St. James, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999 at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center, St. James.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Butternut, with burial in the Butternut Valley Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Pilgrim Funeral Home, Madelia, and one hour prior to services at the church.
He is survived by four nieces; three nephews; many great nieces and nephews; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and four sisters.
He was born March 29, 1909, in Butternut Valley Township, Watonwan County, to Elias and Johanna (Moe) Johnson. He grew up in rural Madelia and attended rural schools. He farmed in rural Madelia until retiring in 1975. He moved into Madelia in 1986. he was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Butternut.

Lois Hoffbeck, 68, of Redwood Falls, died Wednesday, Dec. 29 at the Redwood Falls Hospital.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, at Bethany Lutheran Church, rural Gilfillan, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m.Saturday at the Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and one hour prior to the service at the church.
She is survived by her husband Norman of Redwood Falls and four children; Betty Essig of Aurora, Colorado, James Hoffbeck of Jackson, Joanne Christensen and husband Chris of Redwood Falls and Dennis Hoffbeck of Morgan. Also surviving are four grandchildren; a brother, Charles Ziegenhagen and his wife Judy of Marshall.
She was preceded in death by her parents Francis and Leona Ziegenhagen.
She was born on Feb. 16, 1931 in Morgan Twp., Redwood County, to Francis and Leona (Hammermeister) Ziegenhagen. She attended schools in Rowena and rural Morgan.She married Norman Hoffbeck April 26, 1947 at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Gilfillan. They resided in Morgan Township where they farmed for 43 years until moving to Redwood Falls in 1990. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church holding various offices and was a Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the Redwood Falls Senior Citizens and was a Hospice volunteer.

Stanley M. Sobocinski, 85 of Sleepy Eye, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999 at his home in Sleepy Eye.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Monday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
