Edna Wotschke, 85, died Friday, Jan. 8, 2000, at Parkview Home, Belview.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Vesta, with burial in City Cemetery, Redwood Falls.
Visitation is 4:30-8 p.m. today at St. John's Lutheran Church, Vesta, and will continue one hour prior to services Tuesday. There will be a prayer service 7:30 p.m. Monday at the church.
Kulow Funeral Service, Echo, is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by daughter, Norma and husband Darold Zimmer of Alexandria; son, Kenneth and wife Janet Wotschke of Wabasso; grandchildren, Janee Corder of Alexandria, Brian Zimmer of Douglas, Wyo., Brad Zimmer of Belview, Darcee Bauman of Olivia, Wendy Wotschke of Vesta and Bruce Wotschke of Vesta; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Elvera Meyer of Vesta; and sister-in-law, Alma Stage of Wabasso.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters; and one brother.
She was born Sept. 12, 1914, in Granite Rock Township, Redwood County, to Leopold and Mary (Kuefeldt) Stage. She married Erwin Wotschke on Feb. 27, 1935, at her parent's home near Seaforth. They farmed near Seaforth for 35 years. They moved to Redwood Falls in 1981. Erwin died May 17, 1997. She then moved to Parkview Home, Belview.

John F. Korkemeier, 66, 1016 Ely Ave., Gibbon died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000 at his home.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Willibrord's Catholic Church in Gibbon with burial in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Birch Cooley Township, Renville County.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30-10 a.m. Thursday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon. There will be a rosary by the St. Willibrord's Catholic Aid Society at 6:30 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael J. and Sandy Korkemeier of rural Winthrop, Anthony B. Korkemeier of rural Gibbon, Francis G. and Deborah Korkemeier of rural Fairfax; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Ann Korkemeier in infancy; and sister-in-law, Gloria Jean Korkemeier.
He was born on Nov. 27, 1933, in Bandon Township, Renville County, to Bernard John and Barbara Mary (Goelz) Korkemeier. He served in the U.S. Army. He farmed in various townships in Sibley County until 1968. He then worked for Drainage Incorporated in Winthrop as a machine operator. He worked for Northern Insulation in Gibbon and retired in 1990. He was a member of St. Willibrord's Catholic Church in Gibbon and Catholic Aid Society.

Leona Zins, 88, of Nicollet died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, at Immanuel-St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Paul's Catholic Church in Nicollet with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4 - 8 p.m. today and continues 8:30-10 a.m. Wednesday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Nicollet. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Julianne and John Allerson and Susan and Steve Howell all of Naperville, Ill.; sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Donna Zins of Nicollet, Tom and Mary Zins and Phillip and Mary Zins all of Golden Valley; sons, David Zins of St. Louis Park, Tim Zins of Nicollet; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Veronica Forstner of New Ulm; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Loretta Boettger of New Ulm; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Myrtle and Ernie Hammer of Owatonna; and sisters-in-law, Gertrude Zins of Nicollet and Aurelia Boettger of New Ulm.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward S. Zins in 1967; five brothers; and three sisters.
She was born Aug. 22, 1911, in Sigel Township, Brown County, o Henry and Caroline (Tauer) Boettger. On June 2, 1936, she married Edward S. Zins at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. They lived in Nicollet. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Nicollet, Council of Catholic Women and the Tuesday morning prayer group. She had been a resident of the Grandview Nursing Home in St. Peter for the past two and one half years.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the donor's choice.

Donald Schmidt, 80, of Springfield, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at Springfield Medical Center.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, Springfield, with burial in the church cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by John Watson American Legion Post 267 of Springfield at the cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. until time of the service Thursday at the church.
Arrangements were handled by Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; sons, Charles "Chuck" and wife Marsha, David, Clyde and wife Donna, Donald, all of Springfield; daughters, Carol and husband Louie Agre of Spring, Texas, Barbara and husband Jim Ottaway of Meadow Vista, Calif., and Diane and husband Steve Van Hee of Apple Valley; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sisters, Betty and husband Don Friedrich of Springfield and Dorothy and husband Clarence Fixsen of Seaforth.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was born Sept. 8, 1919, in Springfield, to Charles and Elizabeth (Luckhardt) Schmidt. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1938. He married Evelyn Schultz on April 2, 1942 in Springfield. He entered the U.S. Army in June 1942, serving during World War II in the European Theatre and playing in the military band. He was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church. Following his discharge from the service, he worked as a contractor-builder, building many homes in the Springfield area and the current Zion Lutheran Church facility. He was a member of the church men's club and was chairman of the church council. He belonged to the Springfield American Legion. He played tuba and drums with the Orpheus and Sauerkraut bands until they disbanded.

Lillian Schneider, 94, of Sleepy Eye and formerly of International Falls, died Jan. 8, 2000, at Sleepy Eye.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial in Home Cemetery.
Visitation is 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Arrangements are handled by Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Zula Schneider of Roswell, N.M.; daughters and sons-in-law, Doris and Robert Novotny of Sleepy Eye, Carole and John Irsik of Beaumont, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and brother, Carl Sagen of Sacramento, Calif.
She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Raymond in March 1996; brother, Edward; sister, Pearl; and grandson, Carl Novotny.
She was born March 18, 1905, in Edmore, N.D., to Martin and Dora (Rye) Sagen. She graduated from Edmore High School. She attended normal training in Valley City, N.D., and then taught country school in Edmore. She moved with her family to International Falls where she worked at Craig Hospital and earned a LPN degree. She also received a RN degree. She married Raymond C. Schneider on July 4, 1926, in St. Paul. They lived in International Falls. She worked at Falls Memorial Hospital and as an industrial nurse at Boise Cascade Paper Mill. They moved to Sleepy Eye in 1991. She was a past Nobel Grand of Rebecca Lodge, member of the Civic League and Library Board. She played piano for silent movies. She taught first aid and was a Girl Scout leader. She was a member of the Falls Nurses Association, the city charter commission and the high school planning commission. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Ladies Aid.

Edith Griebel, 88, of 17332 120th Ave., New Ulm, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000 at Abbott - Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Searles with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-10 a.m. Friday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a rosary at 5 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
She is survived by her sisters, Anna Brandl of Sleepy Eye, Violet Griebel and Gertie Griebel both of Bloomington; brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Luella Griebel of rural New Ulm; sister-in-law, Arline Griebel of the Franklin Health Care Center; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers; a sister; three nephews; and a greatnephew.
She was born April 18, 1911, in Cottonwood Township, Brown County, to Joseph Sr. and Connie (Duetsch) Griebel. She attended District 5 Country School. She lived on the family farm in rural New Ulm. She worked as a domestic at Loretto Hospital in New Ulm and at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester for over five years. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Searles and Senior Citizens Group in Searles.

Ella Lange, 87, of Winthrop, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, at Winthrop Good Samaritan Center.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Peace Lutheran Church, Winthrop, with burial in the city cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Thursday at Dalin-Hangte Funeral Chapel, Winthrop, and will continue one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
She is survived by sons, Dick and wife Lusandra of Waconia, Russ of West Monroe, N.Y.; daughter Rhonda and husband Merle of Sheboygan, Wis.; grandchildren, Angela, Michelle, Kristine, Rick, Kim, Katie and Erik; great-grandchildren, Brian, Andrew, Michael, Casey, J.T. and Clarissa; sister, Gesena Schweim of Redwood Falls; and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Art; and sister, Anna L. Preuss.
She was born June 3, 1912, in Waterbury Township, Redwood County, to Anton and Agnes (Krengel) Arends. She attended District 78 elementary school and graduated from Wabasso High School in 1932. She married Arthur Lange on June 30, 1935 in Wabasso. The couple resided in Winthrop until 1941, when they moved to Wabasso, where they farmed until they returned to Winthrop in 1950. She worked at Reese Fairway Foods, Winthrop, for over 20 years. She also worked during the fall packing corn at Green Giant, Winthrop, and at Hands, Inc., Winthrop. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Winthrop, where she sang in the choir, served on the church council, taught Sunday School and belonged to ELCA.

Linnea Johnson, 93, of rural Mt. Lake, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, at Pleasantview Good Samaritan Home in St. James.
Eifert Funeral Home of Mt. Lake is in charge of arrangements.

Everett W. Bloomquist, 91, of St. James died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church in St. James with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today and 8-9 a.m. Thursday at Pease Funeral Home in St. James and continues one hour prior to the service at the church.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Linda Of St. James; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Joel Thiesse of St. James and Kris and Dan Kne of Scandia, Minnesota; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 1984, six brothers and three sisters.
He was born on Jan. 13, 1908, in Watonwan County to Swan and Emma (Johnson) Bloomquist. He attended rural school in Watonwan County. He was married to Nona Armstead on Sept. 7, 1935, at Spirit Lake, Iowa. He was a life-long resident of Watonwan County. He farmed before moving to St. James. He operated the Bloomquist Bus Service for over 40 years. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in St. James, Masonic Lodge, Zurrah Shriners. He served as a Watonwan County Commissioner and had served as board chairman. He entered Pleasant View Nursing Home in St. James a year and a half ago.

Orville R. Fisher, 81, of Arlington died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, at Arlington Municipal Hospital.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arlington. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Fenske Funeral Home in Arlington and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Fisher; sons, Larry and wife Carol Fisher of Arlington, Roger and wife Mary Fisher of Arlington; daughter, Kathy and husband Keith Eggersgluess of Arlington; brother, Earl Fisher of Gaylord; grandchildren, Chad, Corey, Todd and Tara Fisher, and Katie and Krista Eggersgluess; and brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Ines Fisher.
He was born June 20, 1918, in Dryden Township, Sibley County, to George and Augusta (Duehlmeier) Fisher. He attended country school and graduated in 1938 from Gaylord High School. He worked on the family farm before entering the Army in February of 1942. He served in World War II as a surgical technician. He received the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Service Ribbon, the American Theatre Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal. He was discharged in January of 1946 and returned to work on the family farm. He Married Myrtle Kamps at St. Paul's parsonage May 12, 1948. They farmed in Arlington Township until November 1986 when they retired and moved to Arlington.

Helen B. Monahan
HENDERSON - Helen B. Monahan, 83, of Henderson, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, at Glencoe Area Health Center.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Jessenland Township, rural Henderson, with burial in the church cemetery.
A prayer service is at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, at the church.
Visitation is at 4-8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to services, at the church. There will be a prayer service 7:30 p.m. Thursday t the church.
Fenske Funeral Home of Arlington is handling arrangements.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Ron Ott, of Green Isle, and Therese and Dave Ott, of Green Isle; sister, Loretta Anderly, of Henderson; sisters-in-law, Violet Anderly of Arlington, Oma Monahan of Arlington, and Mary Monahan of Hutchinson; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, on Aug. 25, 1992; two sisters and one brother.
She was born March 2, 1916, in Jessenland Township, to Edward and Grace (Trimbo) Anderly. She graduated from Henderson High School in 1934. She married Donald T. Monahan on June 11, 1941, in St. Thomas Catholic Church. They farmed in Jessenland Township. She was a lifetime member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and its Rosary Aid Society. She served as treasure for Jessenland Township.
